    Breakfast

Upon arriving there where were a few people waiting to be seated. The hostess already asked them how many in their party & there is small wait. The hostess asked us how many in our party & we told her 2. She said there is a small wait, have a seat in the waiting. She then stepped behind the counter and talked to another restauraunt staff in very irritated and unprofessional manner about where to seat people. She came back about 2 minutes later & asked the group behind me how many & took them directly to be seated. When she came back I let her know I felt that was very rude & we were there 1st. She said she did not know that. I reminded ded her she just asked us how many 2 minutes before & I was still standing directly in front of her little podium. She made many excuses. The food... scrambled eggs were over done & rubbery. The pancakes, sausage & fried potatoes were good. They still bring a syrup jar, not the little cup where there's never quite enough syrup. The coffee tasted burnt and like it sat too long. The waitress was very polite and attentive for it being busy. Very opposite the hostess. The pricing was a little bit high in my opinion, but the portions were good sized. We would eat there again. Overall minus the Hostess it was a decent place.

Food was absolutely outstanding and staff was super attentive. The eggs Benedict was so delicious I basically licked my plate clean, and my wife left her plate with the ribeye empty too definitely coming back soon. Very family friendly and it was very quiet with a chill atmosphere.

Very good breakfast spot. They were so friendly and the price was fair. Corned beef has was good with two eggs and toast of your choice, kids menu was very fair priced and large portions, hubby had the full linerjack with pancakes, 3 choices of meats, French toast, and cinnamon roll. Super yummy, the chili bowl was gross. It was bland and mushy like the chili beans had deteriorated into the soup. The jalepeno cornbread on the side was dry and bland. No jalepno flavor, no nothing. Just like cardboard. Highly do not recommend. The rest of the meal was good. Three stars but a fourth for service and kindness to all patrons and especially to the kids. Super cute place with fast service!

Stopped by for breakfast recently with a group of friends. We were greeted walking in and seated within a minute. The interior is open beam wooden, has a mountain cabin vibe. Our server was friendly and professional and made sure our food was correct and the coffee cups filled. After giving the menu a once over, I opted for the Avocado toast with a coffee. A nice breakfast, avo on rye toast with sprouts, diced tomato, capers, on top of two over medium eggs and crispy hash browns. This was a light and filling breakfast, it meet my needs the morning of my visit. Fresh avo with the eggs and browns was a nice combo. 3.5 Stars rounded up for our server and the staff that helped her with our group 00974

Voucher for $5 breakfast from Old West Inn

I usually like staying in hotels with breakfast included. However, The Old West Inn didn't provide it, but we received a breakfast voucher for the Lumberjack's Restaurant. It was a pretty sweet deal! For $5 bucks, we ate well! On the first day, I had one Egg, one French Toast, and one Sausage. I also had hot tea. Then then the second day, I had one Egg, Hash Browns, and two slices of bread. I also had hot tea. They were generous with eggs and it was all tasty! I have no complaints! My man enjoyed his pancake, too. The girls ate all the food on their plates, so that means they liked it, too! The service was not bad both times. They had a lot of customers, so it took a while to serve our plates. We were occupied talking about our adventure for the day, so we didn't mind. Our server, however, must've been hungry. She was shaking so much I thought she was going to spill our drinks. It's okay she fulfilled my daughter's wish when she asked for two pieces of bacon. That was much appreciated!! I wanted to give her a piece of my toast! I like the lumberjack theme. It gave the restaurant a warm earthy feeling. The huge lumberjack statue in front of the place is a nice touch!

A wonderful staff and yummy food. They were very welcoming and they fed our large group of 34 people. Thank you, Lumber Jacks!!

We stopped at Lumberjacks on the way home from a basketball game on a Thursday evening. We were hungry and the portions did not disappoint. I ordered avocado toast, which I love to try at different restaurants, and unfortunately this was not one of my favorites. I think the sprouts and the capers took away from the avocado to the point that I really couldn't taste it. The restaurant itself was nice and clean, and pretty empty so we could relax! Our server was very nice and got us our food quickly, checking on us often. All in all, this is your basic Dennys type establishment, not great, not bad.

Driving by and found this wonderfully clean & friendly restaurant! I stopped for a breakfast. It was better than expected!! Big portion with well prepared / cook meal! Def recommend over fast food joints!

We had vouchers from our hotel to have breakfast here for $5 per person. I did not expect much, but the place was clean, the staff were nice and the food was ok. My hash browns were bitter, and I was disappointed. The eggs were nice, and our waiter gave us plenty of options for how the eggs need to be cooked. The $5 per person included the coffee too, and the coffee in this place was very good and they were refilled every few minutes. Overall it was ok.

We stopped in the Lumberjack's Restaurant during vacation and we lucked out here cause the food was good. We were concerned because we gad a few awful restaurant stops before finding this gem. Nothing to complain about here cause the menu is huge and our server girl was great. It's a quiet place to relax and the cake they serve for dessert is huge. We would definitely stop in here again.

Understaffing has reached the point where it seriously affects the experience of eating here. Having a single server for Sunday morning means service is slower than slow, and forget any coffee refills. The kitchen may also be understaffed, as my skillet breakfast was a disappointing blend of sadness and apathy: lukewarm potatoes that had never seen a fry pan, topped with a sort of omelet where the reputed toppings were shredded to unrecognizability, with a sprinkling of cold supermarket cheddar. There's at least one other diner in town, there's fast food, and there's at least one dive Mexican place that's open for breakfast. Next time, I'll be going to one of those.

Wow did they get busy on this random Sunday night- reminder to all people dining out, most places are short staffed and for the most part they are doing their best! Especially the night we went. We were getting hangry from leaving the coast and stopped here to get a good dinner. I brought my own bread as I need a special type, and the waitress didn't even bat an eye, which I appreciate. I ordered a roast beef sandwich with au jus and horseradish, which was soo amazing!!! Especially with my own bread, I was in heaven and totally full. Boyfriend ordered the taco salad with extra meat and they sure did not skimp! He was full as well and we shared a glass of wine-not bad. It was an affordable dinner that will fill you up while you're traveling!

The burger was fine. Not the greasy smash burger experience I was craving, but it tasted fresh. Served on a ciabatta roll... from Costco? Unconfirmed, but that's what it tasted like. I would have preferred brioche or something more fluffy. I ate every crumb because post hike hunger. I wouldn't come again though. Being older, my friend and I don't eat like we used to. Broiler portions are hefty, so we choose to split/share a meal. This time, to our surprise, we had to ask for a second plate. The waitress responded that there was now a "second plate fee". WHAT? I buy a $47 meal and you'll charge me $6 for an extra plate? My only option was to eat my meal from my bread plate and it would have spilled onto the table. I agreed to the plate and was brought a much smaller than the normal size plate. There were 5 in our party and one take away meal. The bill was over $200 with no alcohol. By principle, I was gobsmacked that I was charged extra for a dang plate! The meal was delicious. I just can't get over the charge for an extra plate.

Had not eaten much during the day, so we headed there, arriving around 4:30. First 2 things I noticed: pretty non-descript building, but a lot of cars parked in front of and across from the place. Once inside we found out why, when asked if we had a reservation. At 4:30pm on a Tuesday! Waited only a short time before we were seated. My buddy had brought a nice bottle of Cab, the corkage being only $10 (which is unheard of these days, when average corkage fees run $20-$50). The meats are all cooked over oak-fired grills, so we were excited. First they brought us salads with an unusual "house" dressing, kind of a combo of Italian and 1000, with a bit of French and some horseradish. Very tasty. Also had some great warm sourdough rolls. I ordered the Top Sirloin with grilled shrimp, he got the Ribeye. They both were cooked perfectly medium rare, and came with potato choices or rice pilaf. I was stunned at the portion size of my steak! Especially with beef prices so high these days. By the way, both our dinners were under $40, a bargain in 2026. Service was excellent, all staff working hard. No wonder this place is still going strong after 60 years (opened in 1966). Recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes a good cut of meat properly prepared and served by nice people.

I must say, it exceeded all our expectations! We arrived slightly early, and as we waited a friendly gentleman approached us inquiring if we needed assistance. Though the restaurant had not yet opened, he kindly spoke with the staff on our behalf. He invited us to sit in the charming, shaded courtyard. Which was perfect especially since we were accompanied by our sweet Boston Terrier. Our server Kameron was exceptional, attentive, knowledgeable, and delightful. She shared fascinating details about the historic buildings and their connection to the hotel, providing us with a booklet recounting the intriguing story of the Tallman family's legacy. Kameron also recommended the Blue Wings with a sweet-spicy Asian glaze as an appetizer. Without a doubt, the best chicken wings I have ever tasted! Her suggestion was spot on, and we thoroughly enjoyed them. My husband ordered the Fish & Chips, while I savored the Crispy Chicken Salad. Both dishes prepared to perfection. Our dog Winnie was treated to a generous beef dog patty. An impressive patty that left her a very happy girl. Our experience with Kameron truly made us fall in love with Tallman's. So much so that before leaving, I immediately made a reservation for July. The same courteous gentleman who initially greeted us was there to assist with this, offering to reserve a dinner reservation for the evening we arrive. He even offered to show us one of their dog-friendly Main Street Suites. The suite was absolutely stunning. The hospitality we received throughout our visit was exemplary. I am now more excited about our upcoming stay at Tallman's than even our planned trip to the beach house in Fort Bragg. Every member of the staff went above and beyond to ensure a memorable experience. I wholeheartedly recommend Blue Wing Saloon and the Tallman Hotel to anyone seeking outstanding service, exceptional food, and drinks!

We didn't say anything while we were there because it was only about 30 minutes before closing, and we didn't want to be those customers or inconvenience the staff. We simply paid our bill and left. Since the new ownership, it's clear that something has changed. Whether it's the menu, ingredients, or chef, the heart of this place doesn't seem to be the same anymore.
