I have been coming to Lumi Spa since they opened early last year. This is 1 of two locations by the owners, and it is undoubtedly the better of the two. The aesthetic is beautiful and clean inside. You can tell that the staff is well trained and takes pride in the work that they put out into the world. Oh, did I mention it is clean? The vibe here is VERY calm, and when you come in, you are greeted by a wall of products and a receptionist. The layout of this location gives precisely what it needs for those moments when you are just trying to relax and have a day full of self-care. Lumi appears to use some of the best products on the market, and one of the reasons that I love them so much is that they use NO UV light when getting dip nails, which has been very difficult to find otherwise. If you are in the area, certainly check it out. My recommendations are a mani/pedi situation, but also make sure that you are asking for Sokha or Trudy; they are my personal favorite specialists. read more

My daughter and I went to get pedicures today. The salon is beautiful, the atmosphere and energy is calming and relaxing. My issue is that the pedi message was mediocre at best. The tech just did one stroke over and over, no variation. It felt as though she was rubbing a hole in my calf. We also got the gel polish, which turned out ok but why do they have to cut the corners off of my toenails? Every time I ask them to file/cut STRAIT across, and every single time they cut the corners off. I just don't get it. Then we decided to try the Japanese head spa treatment because the video advertisement looked so relaxing. It was everything EXCEPT relaxing. It was rough and cold and uncomfortable. The Japanese head spa you see in the video is NOT what they are selling. There is no gentle message with warm water and steam. It is a rough, clumsy, cold, exfoliation with scrubbing on top of more scrubbing. I will not go back. Beware, especially with the head spa. read more

Came for the head spa treatment and was not pleased. I tried twice. The first time I came it was good as it was also the first time I had ever done a head spe treatment before. The second time I came in, it was honestly sad and a waste of money. The lady seemed like she was rushing which caused me to not feel relaxed. I did the most expensive option, let the lady at the desk know how unhappy I was, she gave me a 10% discount...that covered what they charge to use a card. I wont be coming back. read more

Finally took time out to treat myself. I chose this location because it is close to the Pilates studio I frequent. I got a pedi and dipped acrylics. The pedi was ok. I found it strange that she was filing my nails after they were painted. The acrylics are awful. On 4 nails there is actual free space in between my nail and the tip. Like they didn't use enough glue or press down hard enough? Some of my nails are slightly crooked and a couple nails look very thick and almost vertical (assuming it's because they aren't glued down all the way.) they did not trim my nails at all so now from the underside they already look grown out. Wow! I am blown away at how amazing this experience was. Making an appointment was super easy to do. I went in this morning for the #4 Lumi ultimate care includes : -massage the scalp -shampoo your hair -hair mask - micro mist steaming -wash your face -massage your face -face mask seaweed - 15 minutes arm neck shoulder massage (Everything, except blow dry which I added on as an extra) The experience was so relaxing and comfortable. One of the best experiences I've ever had. My boyfriend and I stumbled on this place a few weeks ago and decided to try it out today. We decided on a pedicure and a Head Spa treatment (which neither of us had done before). We started with the pedicure. We got a #3 (Starry) and it was wonderful. My tech was so sweet and attentive and my gel pedicure was perfect. My boyfriends tech took time on his feet to make sure we finished at the same time. The stone massage was incredible. I could have walked out after that and been very happy with the experience. But then we had the head massage. As someone who had no clue what to expect, this was one of the best things I've ever spent money on. We chose #4 (Ultimate Care) and we received: face and hair washes, oil treatments, conditioning hair mask, face masks, many different head and face massages, a steamer constant steamer, a steam cap, a neck, shoulder and arm massage, and more. We had our own personal bays with brow satin curtains and were covered in comfortable blankets. I was mush by the end of the 75(!) minutes and the bar was set HIGH. We will be coming here often. We even bought our mothers and sisters gift certificates. read more

I got seated down with the water running, and it overflowed outside... my tech was very nice, but slow down. I was hurting when she pushed my cuticle back due to the fact she did it so fast. Like you do know, my feet are wet, right? It will slip when you try to push it back.... I also got poked by the clipper because she was once again going to fast. It's not a good experience the first time around and will not be back. Ontop of that, I hate business who charge their customers fees for using cards to pay. Places like that don't deserve customers. There are plenty of other nail spas that do not charge their customers, and the quality of service is way better. read more

0 STARS... For a newer nail salon and head spa that claims to be luxurious, I found it unprofessional and dirty. The tools they used were dirty, and some of the nail technicians were rude and not skilled. I had just had my nails done by an excellent Russian nail technician, and I only needed a simple design on my nails. However, the technician at Lumi was impatient and used a large brush, despite my request for a smaller brush and proper curing in between layers. When I asked her to redo the nail, she refused, saying it was too difficult and she gave up. Eventually, she agreed to listen to me and use a smaller brush and cure it properly, which worked out well. They charged me $90 for the design, even though my nails were already done. I won't be returning to this salon, as it was a waste of time and money. read more

Nailed it! Yes, I so went there... but honestly, Lumi Spa (Rocklin) is a little slice of heaven when you need some self care! My entire family has been going to their sister salon @cosmo nails (Roseville) for well over a year now and I cannot speak highly enough about the experience at either location. Lumi Spa is the newest location, located in the Rocklin Commons Shopping Center. Check out their menu of other services they offer while your at it (as they offer more than just mani's and pedi's) and both locations are always very clean. The staff is courteous, helpful and knowledgeable about your needs and the price point is, well.. on point! I highly recommend you make an appointment ahead of time but walk in's are welcome too. read more

My rating is purely based on the manicure services at LUMI Spa. I asked to have my gel polish removed and a regular manicure. The service itself was ok. I sat in the chair for 10 minutes as advised by the nail tech to let my nails dry. After I paid, I waited an additional 7 minutes in my car for it to dry because the nails still felt tacky. After the 7 minutes, I could tell they were never going to dry completely because the nail polish was expired (it was very gooey). I had to run an errand and after my errand I went back to Lumi to have the nail polish removed because the polish was completely ruined. It didn't sit right with me to purely leave a negative review without giving them a chance to correct the situation. I didn't want to have any colors, I only wanted them to remove the polish. They (receptionist and another nail tech) suggested a clear coat or a natural color and I went ahead and agreed to have a clear coat done. While I'm thankful they were able to seat me right away, the polish removal was very rushed and the nail tech didn't take off all of the polish on my fingertips and surrounding area around the nail. As the nail tech quickly put the clear coat on, I felt VERY uncomfortable as the she as well as the workers around me began to speak in another language. I'm really unhappy with my nails. For $50+tip I would expect a better service. I will not be going back. read more

Absolutely stunning, they have gracefully combined a Spa and nail salon so seamlessly, you don't even realize it. This is a large, multipurpose nail salon & Spa including hair washing, neck message, secluded pedicure rooms for more relaxation. They have the highest quality nail products and every color you could imagine. IVY has been my nail tech for years, I'll follow her wherever she goes, she amazing. I found this place through instagram. What a great find. I booked two appointments for the Japanese Head Spa. They have at least 6 chairs available for this service. We did the ultimate spa treatment which included everything- head massage, facial- arm neck and shoulder massage. It was a 70 min treatment. Each area had curtains so you can have privacy. They provided a "tube top" and a comfortable chair that leaned into the sink. They covered you with a blanket. The dry massage of the face and scalp was so good. Then the magic started with the warm water through the hair. The products they use smell wonderful. The face massage was a good surprise- basically a facial. The face mask was moisturizing. The arm neck and back massage was amazing. Time flew. Then we were provided a room to dry our hair. My hair was silky and my face felt smooth and hydrated. Only thing I can say that could make it better is that I got cold for a bit in between services. Maybe a heated blanket or just keep the warm water on the hair. But otherwise- Talia did a great job and I will be back again for this service. read more

The Japanese scalp massage is a treat for sure. I am glad it came with some shoulder and arms massage, too (We got #4). I communicated with my masseuse regarding the pressure and it was perfect. My new go to place! I went in for a pedicure & upgraded to a gel polish for $15 & chose their #2 option the Lustrous Pedi ($48) for a 45 minute experience. One point of feedback is that the steam machine did have an odor and they let it run the entire time - it wasn't distracting for the most part. Upon arrival, staff was not friendly, and during my pedicure, the nail tech made me bleed while doing cuticle care and my toe is still throbbing to this day. Came with my girlfriends to get the Japanese head spa treatments. SO relaxing. I added on a neck, shoulder and arm massage and so glad I did. I came out feeling relaxed and refreshed. Two stars because the business made my awful experience right. My sister and I found this place while driving by. I've seen so many videos on tik tok and instagram of the Japanese head spas which look extremely relaxing and was hoping for just that experience. I was extremely disappointed. I chose the hydration package which was a 60 min treatment for $85 dollars. Linda unfortunately got soap in my eyes twice, managed to get water all the way down my back, sprayed water quite a few times in my ears and my eyes and hardly massaged any part of me.. an the worst part, she put a steamer on my head and left the room for over 10 min and It burned my scalp.. 7 hours later and my scalp still hurts. I'm attaching photos but my hair was also a disaster after... it took 15 min to brush through it and half bottle of detangler.. The face mask left a rash on my face, and they don't add moisturizer at the end which left my face very very dry. I'm not one to complain but this experience was down right awful. The nice gal at the front called the manager and apologized. They comped the service and offered me 20% off my next one but I honestly don't think I'll return. I would love to go to a place that actually specializes in these and not a nail salon. Very disappointed. read more
