This place has a lot going for it and overall we had such a great time! We came for my fiancé's birthday as we traveled down the coast and the wine and the food did not disappoint! We had two bottle's of the Hess Cabernet and it was delicious. Everyone really enjoyed the pasta and and the filet mignon as well. The biggest downfall for me was that at night if it's cold they roll down the plastic shield on the patio, which makes it impossible to see the view of the harbor which is a major reason we went. First timers here and we wanted to love this place. We had an outdoor shaded table with a beautiful view, but it was the food and service that lacked. There's no indication of where the hostess is so we had to find her somewhere in the restaurant. No welcoming greet or such, but we were able to get seated in 5 minutes. The busser also looked like he didn't want to be there, didn't greet either, but served our waters. The staff looks like they don't like each other, but anyway. We ordered the calamari & zucchini and burrata al tartufo appetizers which took 40 minutes to come out! We were starving by the time it came hoping it at least tasted good. The calamari needed salt and tasted bland and they put their marinara dipping sauce in that silver french fries container so we had to dig our hand in it to reach the sauce. First calamari app in my life that didn't have tartar sauce, which is my fave! Why not include it? Had WAY better calamari in other restaurants. I did like their burrata though. The bread was good and it went well with the sauce and arugula. My bf thought it was okay. My bf ordered a classic manhattan on the rocks and omg it looked sad. They put a straw in it with no garnish. Not even an orange peel or cherry, wtf is that! Definitely do not order their cocktails, it is NOT worth the money. Just stick to beer or wine. I ended up ordering no cocktails or drinks because I felt from the beginning based on the atmosphere that it's just not worth it to spend more than what we were about to. Good thing we ordered our entrees early as well because it took forever still! We were close to just cancelling our order and grabbing a quick bite elsewhere, but it came out. I had the salmon piccata. The salmon was good but their lemon sauce with capers was soooo salty, I even had my bf confirm it. My bf had the cioppino and the mussels tasted fishy. Their garlic spinach was very oily and the Brussels sprouts with pancetta was bland that I know I can make these better at home. So much for a birthday celebration. I made reservations on OpenTable for 7PM on a Saturday night for my boyfriend's birthday dinner and they were able to seat us right away. It was raining a little with an overcast that night, but we figured we'd opt for patio seating for the view of the water and it was perfect with the heat lamps and lap blankets. Such a great ambiance! Their wine list was divided into Italian or American wines, and we decided to start with a bottle of a 2017 Olianas Vermentino, this sweet Italian white wine. For food, I got the clam linguine and he got the salmon with a side of roasted potatoes. Mine came with a lot more clams than I had expected - every bite had clams. No complaints! Both were good, but I enjoyed the claim linguine much better. They do charge for bread - $0.75/ small roll and it doesn't come warm, which I didn't expect. In the end they came out with this yummy coffee ice cream dessert with a candle in it for his birthday. It was a nice touch and the dessert was quite good. We would've ordered a dessert or Irish Coffee had we not been so full. The total came out to be around $60 a person. I'd like to visit again during the summer when the weather is nice out and we can enjoy being by the water more. A good option for an intimate meal celebrating a special occasion! read more

Quality restaurant with unbeatable views and ambiance! Enjoyed my chilled glass of Pinot Grigio by the water, after a day of hiking on Angel Island. The restaurant manages to be elegant, cozy and casual enough for a post-hike meal. I've been here twice for late lunch/early dinner on the weekend. It fills up closer to dinnertime, but groups of 3-4 had no problem getting seated at ~4pm. Yesterday I ordered the Granchio from the lunch menu (fresh crab salad with avocado) and had the Cioppino last time (filling with a variety of seafood and flavorful broth). Bread costs extra. I found it on Yelp because of all the positive reviews and because my mom likes restaurants where you can look out to the water. Got there around 6p- with reservations - and it was packed. That's usually a good sign. Food: I ordered the salmon, mom had sea bass and my brother got the beet pasta with crab & Sherry cream sauce. Salmon served with large capers and a lemon (but not too lemony) wine reduction. They cooked the fish perfectly and have a generous portion. My mom's sea bass also tasted delicious. Brother's beet pasta with crab looked a little weird coming to the table I have to admit, though the flavors all came together so we'll. The pasta was actual pasta, not beet zoodles ... Or would that be Boodles, that included the vegetable in the wheat mixture before processing the noodles. At the end, the server brought my mom a Lemon Foam dessert with a candle. Lemon custard with a vanilla sauce and a sweet wafer cookie. It's a nice and light-tasting dessert perfect to round out the great meal. Service: we arrived late for our reservation, though they still held the table for us. Our server was attentive without being too much so. Atmosphere: contemporary and inviting. The view on the patio looking out to the sailboats and the bay, and then the city in the distance, is hard to beat. We REALLY wanted to love this place from the photos to the descriptions online but alas we walked away disappointed. The "fresh" ciabatta rolls were hard as a rock and the omelette was overpriced and underwhelming, the potatoes seemed old (maybe cooked the night before?). Everyone at the table agreed their food was either bland, too hard or too soft or not fresh. The service was fine and the place was clean so I am giving 4 stars. I hate to give a bad review but the price didn't match the quality of the food. I am only writing a review as this is a family owned business and I hope it can survive! Such a great place to have brunch. They have an excellent patio and it's covered so the sun isn't beating down on you the whole time. I come here all the time and the service is always excellent. Everything I've had has been yummy and they take reservations (which is always a plus for me). I would say that the only thing that I wish they did was expand their brunch menu a little bit more. But that still shouldn't stop you from coming to this place because everyone is super nice and that back patio area is just a wonderful place to have a nice relaxing meal. Food wise the restaurant was a bit disappointing I'll start with the meatballs they were delicious I would recommend it for sure , the fish was good, the chicken was just so heavy and oily. Oh Wow. I mean it. I had the most delicious (and I'm not lying) most delicious bowl of homestyle tomato soup I have ever had. It was dairy-free but luscious and fresh with red and golden tomatoes throughout. Flavorful and absolutely heavenly. Next up a wonderfully large portion of delicate branzino smothered in a light lemony sauce. Little slivers of garlic all over the fish and it was absolutely scrumptious. My very first visit at Luna Blu was back in 2016, hours before my boyfriend asked me to be his girlfriend. And that is what makes this restaurant really special to us. We wanted to return for our anniversary this year but just our luck cause they were closed the whole month of January. February came and my boyfriend was able to snag a dinner reservation for Valentine's Day. Yay! It felt good to be back at Luna Blu but man, I was somewhat disappointed with the service. Upon walking, I immediately noticed the hostess on her phone. She was friendly and nice and seated us immediately but using the phone in front of customers, I think, is just unprofessional. Then there was our server who was so awkward and for some reason, kept ignoring my boyfriend. Like okay, my bf is pretty meticulous and can be indecisive but come on, as a server, you're supposed to cater to your customers' request. Yes, every request. He got better after and became friendly and less awkward towards us. Food, of course, was good though the prices were pretty steep, in my opinion. For appetizer, we got beef tartare and then lobster ravioli for my entree and then cod for my boyfriend. Both entrees were cooked to perfection and were flavorful. We most definitely enjoyed it. And then for dessert, we had chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. Cake was good, the vanilla ice cream, however, tasted like it was store bought. So that was pretty disappointing. My boyfriend and I are emotionally attached to Luna Blu so we are gonna keep coming back. I just really, really hope we have better experiences the next times we visit. read more

Full order to kitchen should be done if the waiter paid attention that we were done. Regardless, we shouldn't have to wait 30 minutes for a meal. Another table ordered the same appetizer. They came in 30 minutes after us. They were almost done with their meal by the time we left. I'm so disappointed. To this establishment, thank you for MESSING UP MY SISTER'S 60th BIRTHDAY!! There is no option for zero stars, so 1 it is. We came from San Francisco, and we chose Luna Blu based on the great reviews. Three other parties arrived after we did, but they all received better service and got their food first. Not once did the waiter check to see how we were doing. No explanation was given as to why our food was delayed (30 mins). We also never got the drinks we ordered. After 45 minutes receiving only one appetizer, we decided to leave. Again, no apology was offered by the waiter or management. Management: Wait staff said a well-done burger takes time. However, this is B.S. I ordered medium rare, which doesn't sound the same as "well done." As we were leaving, the hostess mentioned to the waiter we were leaving, and we offered to pay for the appetizer. He turned around, with no apology, said, "It's on the house." That's all we got. If you don't like us as your table, switch waiter. My family has owned a restaurant for seven successful years. A nice little brunch place tucked in the town of Tiburon, the location of the outdoor tables right by the water with a view of the harbor is perfect. We ordered the Burrata and their freshly made ciabatta bread, the bread tasted fresh made and their EVOO is a must have. The spinach ravioli and crab sandwich is highly recommended too. Mare monte with rock shrimp and fettuccine light and delicately seasoned. We had no problem finding parking even tho it was a Friday evening. There's a parking lot near the condominium buildings which is very easy access but a bit dark to be walking around. You do have to pay$$. Our waiter was very courteous and attentive (our buss boy was on point as well). The food was so delicious and the ambiance perfect for a nice afternoon lunch. The caprese salad, the tomatoes were not fully ripe and huge and the portions of mozzarella too small. The squid ink pappardelle was meh, the actual pasta was stuck together and over cooked, the seafood was nice but the sauce had saffron which was strange and ruined the wine and garlic flavors. My family and I reunited for my birthday in Tiburon after the Giants game vs the As and we were looking for some yummy desert after we ate at Sam's cafe. As soon as we walked in we were greated by the "hostess" later to find it was the owner Crystal I believe is her name in a rather rude, irritated manner. Her lack of enthusiasm for us to be seated was so incredibly appearant. I felt really uncomfortable because my family and I are so obviously dark-skinned latinos. When we mentioned to the server we only wanted the desert menu he tensed up and Crystal came to our table and instructed us that since we were only getting desert we would only have 13 minutes to eat in a annoyed tone. Please don't get me wrong I work in the service industry and understand that when there is limited seating it is in the interest of the owner to have guests order full meals. However, I would never dream of speaking so rudely to guests. She could have convied this in a different manner, in a nicer tone. My family and I devoured our food as fast as we could and left becuase we felt very uncomfortable and unwanted. Sure is a shame because each of our deserts were fabulous. I ordered the chocolate moose, my father the tiramisu (the best one) and my aunt ordered a sweat pear desert. Photos attached. If the service was better we would have gladly left a 5 star review. What a delightful dinner we had tonight! The waiter could not have been more charming and welcoming. We started with the carpaccio which was tender, flavorful and on a beautiful bed of arugula. Yes it was a Birthday dinner celebration, and we showed up 15-20minutes late so we respected the time we were told to be done by which was 6pm. So we decided we take our dinner to go and we just ordered drinks. In conclusion, the food and service did not fail. The ambiance was lovely. I wish the chairs were comfier where we sat.
