They seem to use quality ingredients. Presentation of the food is quite good. Served fresh and hot. Serves alcohol, always a plus Cons: Food portions aren't particularly impressive. Expensive. Not a particularly great value for fast Mediterranean as compared to competitors in the area. Overall: if you value a nice, higher end atmosphere, a good place to converse with a friend or a date, and pretty decent food, this location might be a good destination, especially being close to the cinema. Did management change in recent years? I use to love the Mediterranean Salad with Chicken. The last couple of times it was just okay. Last night we tried the Pita Chicken with Fries and I had a wrap with falafel. My husband liked his pita Chicken but the fries looked nothing like the photo. I wish I had thought to take a photo. All of the fries were cooked to a crisp! It wasn't crisp on the outside and soft inside. The whole french fry was crisp. It was almost like a long potato chip. My falafel wrap was okay. Wow. I'm genuinely stunned at the ratings of folks who think this place is any good. I have to wonder if they're real reviews. Here was our experience after over two visits for lunch.... The Good - Lots of gluten free options. The Bad - Really, really expensive for very salty but otherwise bland and mediocre food served up in painfully skimpy portions. The Ugly - This chain doesn't hold a candle to the countless hole-in-the-wall, independently owned Greek, Lebanese, Mediterranean, Moroccan or other ethnic restaurants all around San Diego (and indeed to some much better options very nearby this location). The Details - Take a handful of tossed greens, add a teaspoon of feta, two Kalamata olives, and put a tablespoon of bland tzatziki sauce on the side, and that's a "Greek Salad upgrade?" Really? Okay, how about $10 for a plate of french fries sprinkled with feta, with less than 1 oz of meat added on top? Or how about $20 for one skewer of overly seasoned chicken, one skewer of overcooked lamb, and the blandest white rice you'll ever eat? This is the kind of cafeteria-style cafeteria food that you might expect in a rural airport. Even the Mahi (again, a very small portion for a very hefty price) tasted like it had been soaked in saltwater for a few days; and how can you ruin Mahi Mahi...? It takes real effort to make what could be interesting international food taste this hum-drum. And a very meager lunch for three people cost over $60! Again...wow. I really don't get how people could rate such a poor excuse for "Mediterranean" food above two stars, especially when they could drive across the street for much, much better (and much more authentic) options at less than half the price. read more

I ordered food using Yelp/Grub hub and I got my food delivered Cold and was given wrong items. I called Luna Grill back and had to reiterate my issue to practically everyone that answered the phone as they would put me on hold while "dealing" with the issue. Finally they did not admit fault for food being cold and blamed the grub hub driver and still did not own up to messing up the food. I got no apology or to have a new order sent back but was referred to call grub hub and take the issue to them. This will be my last time I order or go to their location for food. I usually give great reviews and find something positive to highlight but in this case there is nothing to highlight. I say order from this place at your own risk. read more

We go to Rancho SD a lot and when we do, we usually go to Rubio's. This time we decided to try something different and Luna was close by. We were pleasantly surprised. It's bigger inside than we thought and we thought it was a restaurant where you sit and order from menus. We liked that this is more casual--you stand in line, order, sit down and the waitress brings the food to you. I ordered the sample platter for about $12 and we shared it. It was a lot of food and delicious. We liked the decor--beautiful lanterns decorated with forks, spoons and knives. We probably will be back although it seems a little pricey. Love Luna! Every time we are in Rancho SD this is our spot! It is extremely fresh and they have killer beverage options too. We typically call our order in and take it home to eat. My typical order is the Chicken Kabob with an extra Kabob with the rice and salad. My Hubs gets the Mahi Mahi plate. I also really enjoy the Israeli Chicken Salad on a hot day! Service is always great, the inside clean, and food is amazing! Taking 1 star off because they can be really stingy with Taziki sauce. I had asked for 6 sauces, 3 for each plate and every time they act like they are going to get fired for giving it to me. One time, I was told I had to order the taziki/pita app to be able to get "That much sauce." 3 for each plate is not asking too much guys! Just sayin! read more

Two thumbs down to the latest round of menu changes. We frequently order the Chicken Pita Wraps, which typically had a decent amount of chicken in them. Under the new menu, the wraps now only have 3 bite size pieces of chicken, not even enough to fill out half the wrap.
