I used to be a regular at Luna Grill until the food quality started declining. The taste could have been better, the portions got smaller, and the prices increased. Today, I placed an order using the mobile app and got a confirmation. But when I went to pick up my order at the Poway location, the cashier couldn't find it. I was on a 45-minute lunch break and needed to return to work. None of the staff knew how to help, even when I showed them the confirmation. It took them ten minutes to find my order in their system, and then they started preparing it. By then, I only had 15 minutes to drive back to work and eat. When I opened my falafel plate at work, I discovered that the falafels were as small as a quarter and very dry. The rice was cold, the hummus was bland, and the side order was disappointing. This isn't the first time something like this has happened--it's my second bad experience at the Poway restaurant, similar to an issue I had at my local South Bay Area Branch. The managers blame the problem on the phone app and their system in the stores. I rate the experience with two stars: one for the food and one for the outcome. read more

Been here a couple of times now. Parking out front is good, and the space is clean and modern. First time for me was a Modern Chicken Wrap to go. It was delicious! Second time was Loaded Fries. They're not working for me, and not at all like Mexican loaded fries you may have had elsewhere. These are too dry and salty. Best part was the chopped tomatos, which isn't a good sign! The first batch came out cold and my son's side of fries came out late. So some confusion about timining in the ktchen. Stone IPA (cans?) were a reasonable $6 each. Both times, my son had a Chicken Pita, which he really enjoyed. Service is very friendly. read more

It is basically very upscale fast food with friendly quick service where you order at the front counter and they bring the food out to your table. Great food and great service Luis is very kind and hospitable. Everything was clean and the food was made quickly and very fresh.

Restauarants have to figure out whether they want to be primarily an online business or in the brick and mortar business. They can no longer prepare orders as the "come in". When a walk in customer takes close to 25 minutes to get "fast casual" food, there is a problem. I counted at least 10 people pick up food after I ordered at the counter. I get it...the world is changing and digital ordering is the future. There has to be room (even a little bit) for in the in person ordering. But I think, smarter companies like Chipolte and Chick-fil-A decided to have two separate food preperation lines. One for in-person and One for online orders. I have experienced this and it makes both the online order and the in person customer happy. Luna Grill has not adopted this. Do not eat here in person or order to go in person unless you want to wait close to 25 minutes like I did and others that were there. Online orders were not just jumping the line with the kitchen. They couldnt even bother to wait in line with the rest of us. Some online order people were polite and waited in line but other in this community feel the privilege of jumping ahead of people and jump straight to the cashier. I visited the Poway location yesterday and the food is always excellent! Every Luna Grill I've visited is always clean and the staff friendly. My visit yesterday was different. I was going to ask a question about how to use an offer I received on the app, but decided not to. The man at the register was very unfriendly and unapproachable. He was helping a woman with an order and he told her that they don't accept cash. She said something I didn't hear and he pointed to a sign at the register and said it states that right here on this sign. LOL I assume this is a new policy and is questioned frequently because he seemed over it. Needless to say I just picked up my order and moved on. I hate when the staff makes me feel like I shouldn't ask a question. I'll wait until next time and ask someone else. read more

Usually, I give this place 5 stars--one of my favorite take-out places. I reduced it to 4 stars based on a recent order for the Peach & Burrata salad. Very disappointing! The romaine was all stems and core--no leaves. There was a chunk of core about the size of a plum! The burrata was very hard to find, and I didn't even realize there were pecans until I was almost finished and saw a few on the bottom of the plate.
