I was pleasantly surprised at the overall experience. Delicious, fresh food, friendly service and clean dining area. I ordered the gyro dinner plate and the meat was tender and flavorful, the yogurt sauce was refreshing and the hummus and pita bread was a great starter. The cashier seemed new so it took a minute to place the order but everything came out exactly how it was ordered. My husband and I tried this place a couple weeks ago for the first time and we were pleasantly surprised. Great, friendly, fast service, delicious food... we were excited to return and try some of the other items. We returned yesterday evening and it will be our last time. We took a few minutes to decide what we were ordering, then got in line. There were 2 people taking orders, a guy and a girl. The guy was to take our order next but he refused. He instead told the girl to do it when she was finished with what she was doing while he helped someone who got in line after us. Fine, not that big of a deal. Neither were his rude glances or refusal to acknowledge our existence. We ordered to go, and had a seat to wait. Several minutes later a large family came in, ordered, and sat down. Plenty of time passed where we should have had our order, when we see your staff taking several plates of food to the family who came in after us. My husband was rather annoyed by this point and had to go to the counter to see that our stuff had been sitting for a while and nobody had bothered to cover or bag it up until we asked them to. His fries ended up being cold, hard and inedible and my chicken was dryer than the Sahara. The tzaziki type sauce containers were less than 1/3 full and the rice was lukewarm at best. Now perhaps you guys are just racist AF, since everyone else served ahead of us was white and we are not. Perhaps you just employ rude idiots who don't care about customer service. Stumbled upon this gem during my visit to Ventura to do my civic duty. Ordered a hummus and pita plate and their beet salad with chicken. Unfortunately I don't get to have Greek food very often, so it was definitely a treat. the food here looked really good! I love Mediterranean food! I'm someone who will order it daily. I came here to order lunch with my daughter. I ordered it To Go at 12:59pm at 1:30 we still didn't have our to go food. Another lady was upset because she waited 25 min for a dessert. So I brought it up to the manager and was told it was coming up. Then I finally had my buzzer go off and they had one meal in there I ordered other stuff. So I was told it would be a few more minutes. I could have been at restraint with servers and been in out faster. I finally walked out. Didn't get my food. The attitude of employees was good. The food looked good. I get this kinda thing happens but 40 min at a place like that is ridiculous. People who paid after me got their food and left before I did. Maybe it was bad luck but it sure sucked! Especially because I was starving and had places to be! It completely messed up getting to where I needed to be on time. We had ordered a family meal to feed four in September that was delicious, totally fair in pricing because the portions were amazing and the items were fresh like we remembered experiencing when we used to eat at Luna grill before the stay at home mandate. When we tried to order the same family meal three weeks later, it was no longer available. No family meals existed as options to order, only plates of food. When the food arrived, we were so sad to see the portions were soooo much smaller after having paid 30% more for our food. Did management change? Some things were really good and other things were not. First, the service was excellent, very friendly staff which was awesome! We really liked the falafel, very moist and tasty, but way too salty. The hummus was good but a bit on the bland side. Dolmas were just okay. My sister had the lemon chicken soup and said it was so overly salted that she could not even eat it. Chicken skewers were delicious. I think if they just cut down in the salt levels in some of their food, it could be a really great place to eat! read more

I liked Luna Grill for the cleanliness, efficient ordering and service. But I thought the food was just okay. Meats are pretty good but the salad was just so-so with not enough dressing. I asked for an extra dressing and it was about a thimble full. Too much rice on the plate for me. They had some tasty hummus which was a highlight. I've visited this location of Luna Grill twice. What I liked - the hummus is DELICIOUS. Good and creamy and fresh tasting. The grilled chicken breast kabob has good flavor but was slightly on the dry side. What I didn't like - time from order to food being ready was slow both times, around 20 minutes. I appreciate that they're using fresh, whole ingredients, but it is a long wait. I was there before 11:30 am as well, so it wasn't like it was the middle of lunch rush. I also feel like the price is really high for what you get. The Greek salad was $9, and it was an *extra* 4.25 to add grilled chicken. The Greek salad itself didn't even have a lot of toppings that would justify the price. Given the high prices and slow service, I will probably only return for that yummy hummus (and I'll order ahead online). read more

I have had several meals here and I am impressed. The food is delicious. The chicken Gyro and Sweet potato fries are great. They are pretty large portions and the meal is filling. I've also had the beef and chicken kabobs with rice and a grilled tomato. Not bad. My son loves their burgers and fries of course. The beef gyros are also delicious. read more

I am so glad they opened a location here in Ventura. I work in the area and this is a great addition as a food choice for lunch. There were many fresh platters to choose from. I had the salmon with carrots and it was delicious! The basmati rice is so light and fluffy. We also tried the spinach pie which was a little messy to eat but tasted so good. If you've ever been to a fine Greek restaurant and eaten good Greek food you will be mostly disappointed in Luna Grill. I was expecting a sit-down restaurant where they provide you with a menu - instead it's cafeteria style where only some of the items are on the display board and the food is served on segmented plastic plates - with plastic forks. The man who took our order and appeared to be the manager had the personality of a cactus. The young lady who served our food and assisted us later was extremely pleasant. The apple walnut salad had a fair amount of ingredients although the dressing wasn't too good. The gyro plate was just OK - the gyro meat was tasty but dried out. You can definitely get better hummus at Trader Joe's. The falafel plate was a poor excuse for Greek food - the falafels were small, overcooked and had no flavor or resemblance to any falafels I've eaten before. For some reason my wife and I both liked the white rice that came with both plates. If you're looking for quality Greek food this is not the place to come. read more

There were three of us dining at this restaurant and when the cashier asked what would we liked for drinks and we told them water. Instead of giving us three cups she only handed out one. Before I could ask her for extra cups, she was already busy attending to another customer. I waited at the counter for awhile but nobody seemed to care to even ask if I needed something. So I grabbed a couple of cups (one small and one big) from behind the counter and filled the two small cups with water and plan to fill up the third cup after setting the other two cups down on the table. Then the manager strolled towards our table and with his abrupt loud voice he said, "you can't use the larger cup, you have to pay for it." I looked at him and he kept repeating a couple more times loudly like I didn't understand what he was saying the first time around. Of course customers who were dining there had their heads turned directly at our table. I then told him I didn't use the cup and he may take it away. I also noticed he walked around and checked on other customers but didn't bother to come near our table. I guess he noticed us the first time around because I had the big empty cup on my table. I didn't mind him not checking on us but as a paying customer, please improve your customer service. The manager could have just come up to me and spoken in a quiet voice regarding the cup conflict. He should have just let it go or explain to me in a nicer manner that I can't use the bigger cup to fill up with water. I don't know why he made such a big fuss over a miserable cup!!!! Very unpleasant experience and I don't think I will be returning to this location. ****UPDATE **** I recently went back to Luna Grill on Telephone and Victoria. (Two years later after my unpleasant dining experience) and give it another try. This time I placed a 'to go' order. I guess they've changed management. The service was better and the employees were super nice. That's how customer service should be! They've always been nice except for that one person (management ) who was rude when he saw me taking water in the alleged cup which was meant for soda drinks only. I ordered the Gyro, and I've ordered Gyros from many different places and this one was just mediocre and definitely not worth the $10 I paid. The first time I went, I got a kebab meal and it was delicious. The food took a while, but I understand it's a new restaurant so I gave them grace. And especially because the food was so good. I went again on Sunday evening, ordered a burger. There were 3 girls working, 2 of them must have been on a break because they were sitting down and one girl was rolling silverware while a very nice hardworking guy was taking orders, but no one was sending the food out of the window. So as the food was piling up, we had waited for at least 25 minutes and the burger was just okay. I told my husband, next time we come we will make sure that we don't have to be anywhere on time. And I know not to get the burger. My husband loves their hummus. He says it's the best hummus he's ever had. And like I said, the first time I went, it was delicious. read more
