Serving jury duty and needed a place close enough to walk to with a decent menu. Luna Grill more than fit the bill. It was about a 10 minute easy walk just down the street. This location is large and bright and clean. The servers were all very friendly. After I ordered and sat down, I was asked several times if I needed anything. Someone even cleared my plate when I was finished. My food came out quickly. It was hot and delicious. I usually frequent the Luna Grill in Aliso Viejo, so I'm familiar with their menu. First time visitor. I will not be returning. I couldn't tell you about the food. I never got it. I had a very long review of this place but my writing seemed as disjointed as the service... Suffice to say that the two female cooks couldn't get any of the orders correct. I know this because the (very rude) male manager told them at a level I could hear. I was literally the first person to leave a review the day that Luna Grill opened. I have been a huge fan of theirs all along, the food is great. This review is about the attempt to cut corners by using substandard packaging. I've noticed a few times lately that instead of the nice molded to go packaging they're now packing orders in a flimsy cardboard box. I can assume that the owner is trying to cut costs, but this is an ill-advised economy. The day after my trip to Luna Grill, I went to pull a kids meal out of the refrigerator. The slot in the top where the package is supposed to close never stays closed, and while I was moving some things around, the flimsy wet cardboard flopped open on and flipped over. All of my Luna Grill meal spilled out over the shelf in the refrigerator. In an attempt to save a few pennies by using cheap packaging, Luna Grill cost me a ten dollar meal. I am truly disgusted that something I wanted very much to have today is rendered inedible because of cheap packaging. I will be happy to revise my review if Luna Grill decides to go back to the molded containers with separate plastic lids that keep the food protected and safe when you pull it out of your refrigerator. read more

As much as I love having a healthy option in town, I can't stand supporting a business with bad management. I have witnessed multiple times the manager taking his stress out on the employees. The people working behind the counter seem irritated and act as if doing their job is torture. We did order a fairly large meal recently and got very sick from it. I called to let management know and he didn't seem to care at all. No empathy. No apology. Just wanting to argue with me... he said corporate would call me to talk this over. Nothing. A week goes by and I call back, still full of attitude by no solution offered. Three weeks later, I randomly get a refund. Still no phone call. Still no apology. The entire reason I called was to let the manager know what we ate so they could be diligent and check the food over to make sure nothing was spoiled or expired on their end. Rather than take down what we ate and communicate this with the staff, the manager got defensive. The food is beautiful here. Taste good. But it seems they aren't watching the quality, freshness or dates on products. Better management is necessary. *also, if you do an online order, call the store right after to make sure they got the order and SENT IT THROUGH to the kitchen. Otherwise you will wait 30-45 mins after you arrive while they make your food. Again, no apologizes, no recognition, just rude attitudes. read more

Bottom line first: Consistently delicious, fresh, Mediterranean/Persian fusion at a decent cost. The standout(s): The chicken kabob is juicy, succulent, and delicious. The koobideh kabob is well prepared and not greasy, which is often the case in other places. The Santorini bowl is delicious and every flavor/texture complements each other. Modern Greek salad! The good: The gyro meat is quite good and well flavored, decent portion. Kid's meals are great! The feta garlic sauce. The not so good: Pita sometimes is dry. FYI: If you think it's bland, its because it isn't inundated with salt. That they don't over salt everything is why I like this place so much. You can always add salt. Final thoughts: Ordered delivery here four times in the last month in a half since we first discovered, and have been consistently delicious. read more

OK, just OK. While I am not well-versed in Mediterranean food, I knew all about these Luna Grills popping up around the county. I had been to the one already in the Collection and was completely floored by the sweet potato fries and wrap. Unfortunately, I have yet to experience another meal like that one at either location since. My guest and I decided to split the wrap, chose regular fries, and obvi I had to get a small red velvet cupcake. I am sorry to say the cupcake was the best item out of this entire trip. The French fries were served cold and stuck together. I know it can be hit and miss with French fries, but I really am particular with mine. I asked for a fresh order and the young man happily obliged. I felt I was getting the stick eye from a much older employee, which I assumed was the manager. The wrap was dry and the chicken was very crumbly when we tried to eat it. We ended up opening the wrap and just eating the insides with our forks. I know this place has many different items (check out the other pictures!) so next time I will pass on the wrap and try another item. AND, ask for fresh fries. read more

My nephew paid me a visit from Northern California today. I've always been his favorite Uncle, because I'm one of the few stable influences in his life. My oldest brother has always been a man of extremes, and marrying a wealthy 'trust fund baby' whose Swiss grandfather invented Helvetica font in the late fifties did nothing to temper my brother's wacky personality. He once disclosed to me that he married the Helvetica heiress simply because "she had the typeface I could fall in love with." Poor judgement in love, puns and prepositional phrases. My brother was a Philosopy major in college, never held a regular job and, since college, has been an avid hallucinogenic mushroom connoisseur. My brother named his only son (and my nephew) after the renowned eighth century philosopher and polymath Muhammad ibn Zakariya al Razi. His name is Al. Al and I went to Luna Grill on Telephone Road to catch up. That particular location is very spacious, clean and tidy. I had the Santorini Chicken Bowl and my nephew had an oxymoronic-sounding dish called the Veggie Kabob - both cooked to perfection, healthy and wonderful. As we sat on the spacious outdoor patio and enjoyed our delicious meal, we discussed some of my brother's past travails. Sharing his misadventures helps Al understand that everyone suffers temporary setbacks in life - even when kept afloat by a sizable font-based family fortune. One such event occurred when my brother separated from his first wife in the early 90's and lived with my wife and me for a month. It was a terrible experience for all of us. Two days into his visit he went on an extended hallucinogenic mushroom trip and, during that time, was convinced that he was a pigeon. My wife and I were struggling financially at the time and saved a fair bit of money feeding him bird seed, but I wasn't sure if I could ever forgive him for what he did to the windshield of my car. Al and I finished our meal and decided to split a delectable piece of Baklava for dessert. Doughy, nutty and sweet, we agreed that my brother had changed for the better in recent years. As we left the restaurant and headed outside to my car, I instinctively looked upward for pigeons. I've forgiven, but I cannot forget. Thank you Luna Grill. read more

The chicken is always amazing and moist and their rice is never dry. Their veggies are good and their gyro is bomb. Their falafels are okay...often overlooked but still tasty. We were helped right away as we approached the counter and the woman at the register was very helpful in answering my questions about the menu. Food was okay, the feta cheese fries being the stand-out for me. My salad with candied nuts and cranberries was just okay. Fresh, but the flavors didn't come together to create something special.
