We came here to celebrate a friend's milestone birthday and, overall, left disappointed by how the cake service was handled. We brought our own cake and happily paid the $25 cake service fee, fully expecting that the staff would take care of presenting and serving it. When we arrived, we handed the cake over to the kitchen staff. However, when it was time for the cake cutting, it was simply brought back to our table still in its original box. We then had to remove it from the box ourselves, arrange and light the candles while our friend awkwardly waited, and afterward chase down staff to ask for plates and utensils so we could cut and serve the cake ourselves. We didn't mind paying the cake fee--we understood there would be a charge. What we didn't understand was what the fee actually covered. We weren't expecting an elaborate presentation, but we did expect the cake to be brought out ready for the celebration and with the basic serving items provided. For what should have been a special milestone moment, the experience felt awkward and underwhelming. Unfortunately, the food here is just okay, mainly due to the price. They have a fairly limited menu and the star is probably the tacos, ranging from $7-$9 a piece. The meat is reasonably juicy, but nothing crazy. We also tried their guacamole and ceviche, which felt fairly generic with a not so generous portion size. Visited this spot for the first time tonight and I wasn't impressed at all. The food was pretty mediocre and no one walked away feeling full or satisfied. The quesabirria tacos I got were really dry and the consume had no flavor at all. The side of beans with cheese also had zero flavor. The one positive I will say though is the mango cocktail was pretty refreshing and had the right amount of spice and kick to it. I also really liked the chamoy straw they give you with it. Came to El Jardin for drinks with no reservation around 7pm on a Friday and got seated right away for party of 3, our table is the closest one to the live band, lucky us. If you enjoy outdoor seating, upbeat music, and dancing, this place is definitely for you. Both of my friends ordered Jardin Margarita (Cadillac) and Tropical Margarita, I did took a sip from their drinks and it was good, but more on the sweeter, fruity side. As a Vodka girlie, I went ahead and ordered myself a Midnight Melon, to be honest it tasted like grape juice for me. From the 2nd round, I switched up to their classic Cosmopolitan and I prefer that way more than my first drink. All the drinks that I had for the night was solid. Service was slow at first, it took a while for our first and second drinks to came out but that is understandable because this place got packed as the night goes on. The music was good but really loud, we enjoyed listening to the band playing and ended up on the dance floor around our 3rd round of drinks. It was a fun night out with my friends at El Jardin and we stayed until they closed. The only downside was no restroom at the restaurant, you have to walk to the public restroom in SR to use it. read more

My waiter was very attentive to us and although my partner and I were only there for drinks. We got 4 drinks and paid around $60 so I do think drinks are a little pricey but loved the atmosphere. Music was playing nearby and I loved seeing how dog friendly this place is. Definitely want to come out with my dog next time. Although I didn't try the food it smelt great. They were fast and attentive, which was perfect since we were on a tight schedule. We didn't have time to dive into their huge list of mixed drinks or try the food this time around; we just grabbed a quick tequila shot to kick off the night. The quality was great, and the presentation of the bar area is top-tier. I'll definitely be coming back when I have more time to properly explore their tequila selection and menu. It's a different texture than I'm used to, but still good. It was served with the tiniest tajin bottle. Too cute. Then we got some Mushroom Tacos and Ramen & Birria. The taco was a bit simple, but the mushroom is good. The Ramen on the other hand is giving me ramen + mole vibes. It's a unique take on ramen. It's a bit on the spicy side. I enjoyed the bowl. Not worth the time or money! We were extremely disappointed with our experience. The service was extremely slow at a time when there were very few patrons, 3pm. We were seated close to the bar and had to flip our seat cushions over, as there was bird poop all over the cushion. Just nasty. Our server was friendly and directed us to scan the QR code for the menu, they DO NOT have any hard copy menus to look at. The online menu is a long list that you need to scroll up and down to see all the items. They also DO NOT have a bathroom, they give you a card with directions to the two nearest bathrooms. We started with our drink order. They had no Modelo Especial, so my wife got the Negra. The drink came out quickly, considering we were right next to the bar. We also ordered a DON QUIXOTE and a SPICY MARGARITA. Both of these drinks were too sweet for our liking. We moved on to the food. We ordered the Canicas de Cochinita. After a moment, the server came back and told us they didn't have any of those. So we ordered the Croquetas de Cochinita - which they also didn't have those available. The server told us that those two items are actually the exact samething, but labled with different names on the menu. Okay!? We finally figured out that they had ALITAS QUE SORPRENDEN, so we ordered those. These chicken wings were just okay. They were neither spicy and lacked peanut taste. They came with a weird dipping sauce that lacked taste. The highlight of the meal were the tacos. We got carnitas and enjoyed the meat. THe CHURROS RELLENOS DE CAJETA were amazing the sweet dipping sauce was very tasty. The service became extremely slow at the end of our experience. We had to request water refills from a passing by server. When it came time to pay, the pay system didn't work and server disappeared for awhile to "fix" it. We will NEVER be back. read more
