Our local fish house is not only loved by us, but many in the Valley. We used to go to the one in Westlake but this one is newer and closer. Let's start with the bread brought to the table hot, and it's also good. I seem to always get the Ahi which I do love! They have a decent amount of sides and you get two with your entrée. I switched between french fries the potato thing they make brussels sprouts or a surprise. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, as well as letting you know what the catch of the day is. Could get a little loud in there, but it's really nice. And the food is always a hit. We will be back and we totally enjoyed it. Plenty of parking not an issue. read more

5/5 to Trent, because without him, who knows where we would be. We were a party of 3 hungry gals there for lunchtime, so of course everything sounded good. We started with drinks, so of course everything sounded better after that. We ordered a martini, spicy margarita, and the roasted blueberry basil margarita (last one was recommended - WOW). Luckily, we had Trent on our side. He made GREAT suggestions. I don't remember some of our orders because we primarily went with his suggestions. For the appetizers, we had bread, a fish dish (might have been yellowtail) and shishito peppers. They were so yummy, but too spicy for me. My mom had Rockfish tacos (off the dinner menu) and she loved it (she's not easy to please), and my aunt had the tequila pasta with shrimp (she was worried it was too much, but finished EVERYTHING). Trent recommended my entree from a different menu. I think it was Sea Bass, and it was delicious. Perfectly seasoned, slightly crispy on the outside, cooked just right on the inside, drizzled with a lemon/piccata sauce, and topped with capers. It came with a side of Brussels sprouts, which many fear, but I almost finished those before I even got to the fish. For dessert, we had the toffee cake topped with ice cream. So good. 5/5 CHEF! We visited Lure Fish House in Porter Ranch this past Saturday. The ambiance was great and the overall setting is very nice, which gave us high expectations going in. Our waiter was friendly and did his best, but unfortunately the service was very slow throughout the visit. The biggest letdown was the food. We ordered the harvest salad, and it was overwhelmingly made up of kale. It felt like eating a flower base, very tough and difficult to chew, and not enjoyable at all. Riley also stopped by to drop off some food and was very helpful. My aunt had some questions about drinks and Audrey helped her with her drink choice for the blueberry basil margarita and she loved it. We ordered the tuna ponzu appetizer and it was delicious! I love the new presentation in the dish. But we did as for more ponzu sauce on the side. We also ordered the tequila like shrimp pasta and it was very flavorful! It was slightly spicy but still great! We also got the house salad with chicken and it was fantastic! The lettuce was so fresh and all the toppings made it delicious! Lure has become one of our favorite local spots -- a beautiful place close to home where my mom and I always feel welcomed and relaxed. The food is consistently great, but what truly sets this restaurant apart is the staff, especially Marcus. Marcus takes his responsibility as a waiter *very* professionally and respectfully. He's attentive without being intrusive, warm without being over the top, and genuinely committed to making sure guests are taken care of. About a week ago, my mom accidentally left her wallet on the table without realizing it. Before we even pulled out of the parking lot, Marcus came jogging out to return it. Walking into lures is always the best feeling. It's been raining so there was heat for those who are cold so that was a plus! I got myself the salmon miso bowl and the cup of clam chowder! Tried their Happy Hour Menu for the first time. First off, parking is plentiful before dinner time. I was greeted immediately by the hostess and she was very generous with my seating options. I chose to sit at the bar. Gentleman behind the counter acknowledged me quickly and took my order. I ordered the Clam Chowder and two of their Chipotle Shrimp tacos. Served with complimentary side of sourdough bread and fresh butter. The clam chowder was a small bowl but enough for me. Very good flavor and just the right amount of thickness. The tacos had great flavor, but the tortilla was cold and almost stale. I'm guessing it was a one off. I wanted to highlight the excellent service here. The ambiance inside is really nice. We came to lure because we were in the area and the world cup games were on. We sat at the bar and Marcus T took care us. It looked like there was only one server taking care of the whole bar area and man, Marcus was impressive. When you walk into Lure, you can't help but enjoy the spectrum of blues and the lovely coastal feel of the decor. Met a friend for lunch yesterday. Had been awhile since I tried the clam chowder so I ordered a bowl and wow, I ate every drop! Some of the best I've had anywhere. Not too thick, not too thin and packed with flavor. The sourdough bread hit the spot as well. On the other hand the garden salad seemed to lack something soft to pull the crunchy ingredients together (e.g., feta, parmesan or olives). Will try the Caesar or strawberry salad next time. The service was pleasant. I came here a few months ago and thought it wasn't bad but wasn't totally blown away (except by the lobster ravioli which I really liked). my friend suggested coming here recently on a monday night and luckily there was no wait to sit in the bar area. our waitress was nice, but not super helpful. my friend was debating on getting the burger and asked her about that. she just said that she could order the burger or one of the other entrees which are also good (but didn't really explain the diff ones or why they might be good). I ordered the sandy dabs and got the parmesan potato cake & maple miso brussels sprouts as my 2 sides. this was incredibly underwhelming and lacked flavor. I squeezed some lemon juice over everything to make it a bit better but I was surprised that I paid almost $30 for dish so bland. (+$2 for the brussels sprouts). * the fish was fried well but the small amount of sauce on top and on the side wasnt too flavorful - it was mostly like melted unsalted butter. * the potato cake was not what I was expecting - it had cubed pieces of potato (that didn't feel fully cooked) smashed in the shape of a patty. some of it was mashed and some of them were whole. it would have been better if the potato bits were fully cooked. it tasted like bell pepper and not much else. the flavor & texture of this were just confusing and bad. * maple miso brussels sprouts - I usually love miso brussels sprouts but it was unfortunately lacking in flavor here. the texture was good but that was about it. overall it wasnt a great experience - I'm just glad I didn't have to wait over an hour like I did during my first visit. the food was incredibly underwhelming (my friend agreed) and not worth the price point. I had the anacapa seafood tower last time and also wasnt impressed by their raw bar items. sadly wouldn't come again although it is a very nice restaurant in the area. read more

We ordered their: HH Charbroiled Oyster- 6 HH Oyster Sampler (6) HH Pop Rock Shrimp HH Chipotle Shrimp Taco HH Baja Cod Taco HH Albacore Ponzu Lure Cioppino Our favorites were the Charbroiled Oyster (dip their bread in the juices...sooo good!), HH oysters, Chipotle Shrimp Taco, and Baja Cod Taco. I came here for the cioppino, but didn't remember it like it was made today. It didn't have as much seafood and didn't pasta that I had at their Camarillo location. All in all... we would definitely be back for their happy hour menu. Their seafood is super fresh and delicious. Their service was great (Emma, our server was super sweet and attentive). Just remember, if you are going for the happy hour, it's from Mon-Fri: 3PM-6PM and Sun: 11:30AM-5PM and you have to sit near the bar and high top area to partake in the HH menu! read more

I went here last weekend with my family for my dad's birthday. The location is conveniently located right off the freeway. I absolutely loved the ambiance of the restaurant. Very chic and clean. Our service was great, with an incredible waiter. Now the food. The food was outstanding. One of the best calamari and clam chowders I've ever had. The clam chowder was very meaty with a ton of clams. It wasn't saturated with just potatoes. The lobster ravioli was decadent and absolutely delicious. I've been to a few Lure locations. This one is big and designed really nice but the food was just mediocre to me. Some dishes I liked and some kind of missed the mark. I went for happy hour. They have great happy hour menu options. I loved the calamari and the seasoned peppers. They were delicious. I love seafood and was a little disappointed with the ahi and some of the seafood dishes. The ahi poke items I got I didn't love. It just didn't seem that fresh and the one with avocado I had to add lemon and salt to give it flavor. Once I seasoned it at the table with the ingredients around, then it had more flavor. And the oysters seemed to have a lot of sand in them which I have not really experienced before. For the drinks... they were garnished well. My lemon drop was my favorite. The second drink, the berry mojito lacked flavor. I would go back and try again. I like the location and the outside seating. It's designed beautifully. I just think there is room for improvement. read more

You get complimentary warm sourdough bread. So soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside. Lay on some whipped butter and mmm mm. Do get a cup of the Clam Chowder. It was hot, hearty, and creamy goodness. I ordered the Sand Dabs and it comes with two sides. I went with the pineapple coleslaw (not overly dressed in Mayo and nice bits of sweetness) and sweet potato fries (crispy sweet shoestring fries). I'm a lover of capers so with the buttery lightly fried sand dabs, it was a match in heaven. They do have a menu for kids. It isn't online but ask the server and they will bring it. Some non seafood items for kids includes grilled chicken , grilled cheese, and butter cheese linguine. Our server (Richard I believe) was very attentive and friendly. Kept the warm bread and lemonade refills coming. Will need to come back and get some fresh oysters! They also have happy hour from 3pm-6pm Monday to Friday. read more

I sent the lobster roll back very little, lacked flavor, not worth $29 price. The mussels were ok but again lacked depth and flavor! The drink was amazing it had just the right amount of liquor well worth it! Overall the seafood is fresh but food lacks flavor expect charbroiled oysters they are superb.
