The food was fine, but I was expecting more at their price point. The combo 3 of each signature oysters had too many toppings, which masked the taste of the oyster. The crispy sushi rice spicy tuna and shumai were good, but felt kinda crazy at the price for 4-5 pieces. The lobster Benedict and pancakes were also good, but again, felt pretty barebones for that price (highlighted by the three sad salad leaves in the lobster Benedict). The decor is gorgeous. It was relatively easy to get a reservation for 5 for brunch on a Sunday.
We were told to come here when we are at Cha Cha Tang, I believe they are sister restaurants. We had a fantastic meal! Our table wasn't ready so we sat at the bar until it was. Staff were all friendly and gave us great service. The food was fantastic! So fresh and flavorful. We had some sashimi pieces, tuna tataki, amazingggg sea bass with lobster rigatoni. Favorite was definitely the sea bass but the salmon also had my eye, maybe next time! Really recommend Lure! Can't wait to come back
I went for an impromptu brunch. The Service and decor were awesome. I didn't eat much so my review is for a limited tasting. The oyster deviled eggs were good no complaints there. The Maine lobster salad was okay nothing really stood out flavor Wise. Cocktail was good I forgot what it was something with cherry. Good experience would like to try dinner one day if it's still open.
Excellent as usual... The place looks and creams screams high end bar vibes but has the hustle and bustle of a fast food restaurant. Seafood was fresh and delicious. The service was good.. however there was some opportunity there. I'll definitely be back!
A few of my friends and I were looking to get together for some dinner and to catch up - the biggest question was, where? We first decided on a place that was new to us - and after seeing Lure Fishbar floating around on social media I thought it would be a good place to check out. That being said, I booked a table and we made plans to link up. Lure is located in SoHo, really in the thick of it in a subbasement of a building. The space is pretty large for a lower Manhattan restaurant, and the entire dining room has a nautical feel. It's meant to give off the impression that you're on a boat with the fixtures and aesthetics to match. The dining room is louder than I expected, with most of the tables and booths being in the middle of the space with a large (beverage) bar to the left and the raw bar on the back wall. The clientele is a mixed bag - families, people my age, groups of gen Z - all i various dress codes. Rarely have I seen a mix of people in a single space. It goes without saying but the menu mostly contains seafood items. They have a large raw bar selection, as well as sushi, caviar, apps, mains, a few pastas, and some sides. But first a drink - we had two round and I tried one of their cocktails each time. Both were pretty good, nothing too out of this world but solid overall. We decided to start with one of the seafood towers and a couple of apps. We went with one of the smaller towers which contained clams, oysters, crab claws, shrimp cocktail, and tuna tartare. I'm not an oyster fan, but everything else was quite tasty - they paired the seafood with a few sauces which acted as great complements. We also ordered shrimp tempura, the crab cake, and fluke crudo. All of these were solid - my favorite was the crudo due to the presentation and flavor accents; I thought the crab cake was was the weakest - it was deep fried and overall a little too heavy. For my main I went with the Branzino St. Tropez; this was a filet served on top of mashed potatoes, and spinach topped with crispy capers and finished with brown butter. The dish was fine overall - fish was cooked well though the potatoes could have been smoother; I did appreciate the balance of veg to starch. We opted for dessert, and I went with the deep-dish cookie. This was served warm and topped with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream. It was just okay; they were going for that warm cookie moment but it was kinda underdone which led to it being really soggy underneath the surface. It needed to be in the oven for a little longer and then it would have been perfect. Service was fine - a little impersonal in my opinion but the food came out at a good pace which I appreciated; this seems to be a sore spot based on other reviews. Overall, we had a great time at Lure Fishbar - the food was solid, the aesthetics were fun, and the company was great. Definitely a good option for dining if you're in SoHo.
As a former New Yorker, this establishment has been undefeated since my first visit years ago. Now, that i travel to the coty for work 4-6 times a year, it has become my go to, weather solo or with friends. Dimly lit, perfect for conversations and vibe. Knowledgeable and kind staff. Perfect execution of every dish. And the flavors are always to the max. If you love seafood, pasta, sushi, and great cocktails you cant go wrong with Lure. The sushi bar is my usual seating, but you're OK anywhere here.
I came here early this year for Winter Restaurant Week lunch on a whim. Ambiance brought back memories from the last time I was here which was in 2009. Service was great. Food was just as good as I remembered 16 years ago. For the two course restaurant week lunch, I added a wine pairing. For my appetizer I had the rock shrimp tempura with a glass of chardonnay. For my dinner entree I had the miso salmon with a glass of Cote du Rhone. I devoured everything. Wine was generous for the food consumed. I'd like to return to indulge in their happy hour.
Oh my oh my! The freshest fish ever, and this cookie is perfect too. It's sweet, salty, and rich. Absolutely THE date night restaurant. I can't wait to come back, and eat on an empty stomach so I can eat even more!
Very festive for the holidays! The boat themed interior is very unique- definitely worth going below street level for. The deviled egg with a fried oyster on top may be the best bite I have ever had in an NYC restaurant. Never been to Lure, but finally got my opportunity when I met my cousins visiting from CA here. Bar area was very busy, with the restaurant having multiple dining areas including a sushi chef counter towards the back. The menu appears to be mostly "Asian" flavor profile inspired seafood with some exceptions. For entree, got the whole fried snapper which was good but honestly would probably rather just go to a Thai spot and get a snapper larb. Would come back in the future to try the sushi, since that seems like a major thing here. Saketini is strong and very botanical, so do not get if you are not into martinis!
Totally loved the place. In the heart of soho. Great menu. Friendly staff fun ambience. Sat at the bar. Ordered burger. Mushrooms and yellow tail carpaccio. All were absolutely perfect. I cannot wait to go back. And try more places on the menu.
Lure is the best! Lure is one of those places that is always consistent. Does it ever blow my socks off in terms of how amazing the dish was? No. But is it always very very good with zero complaints around? Yes. Service is always great with attentive servers and always friendly energy. The ambience is very cool as you feel like you're in an old ship and it's the perfect setting for a seafood dinner. Keep doing what you're doing Lure and we will keep coming back!
Wow! My first experience surpassed my highest expectations. Upon walking in immediately became immersed in the nautical theme of the restaurant. From the yacht-like interior, decor and antique-like wooden walls, the ambiance set the mood for a dining experience on the sea. To complement the vibe, the service was great. The entire team was pleasant, attentive and very professional. Our server helped me navigate the menu, accommodated my food sensitivities, and made perfect wine pairing recommendations that took the meal to a new level. All other elements aside, the food alone deserves 5 stars in my opinion. I started the with a few East coast oysters and some nigiri sushi (tamago and sea eel), both of which tasted fresh, flavorful and no cocktail or soy sauce was necessary. I followed that with the slow baked turbot entree (an east coast white fish) jasmine rice and a glass of Albariño, recommended by my server. It all was delicious and left me wishing the meal would never end. Lastly, I could not pass up ordering a salmon skin sushi roll which did not disappoint. As you can probably already tell, I have nothing but good things to share. If you get the opportunity, go dine at Lure and experience it all first-hand.
This place has amazing seafood! Highly recommend! We got so many items and everything tasted delicious! Service is incredible as well! They gave us free champagne because it was my friends birthday dinner. Very upscale and classy interior. Perfect for date or celebration dinners. As you approach Lure you realize it's down a flight of stairs, but think, man this is like an elegant Cheers bar, then you arrive at the double portholed doors and are instantly trasported to an old luxurious ship with beautiful wood features and a smiling crew. Absolutely wonderful dinner. The service was great, the food was even better and the only downside was that it was 40° and loud as hell in the restaurant. We managed to have a beautiful tasty feast none the less. To start us off, alongside our menus was some champagne provided for my mothers birthday, what a nice and gracious start to the night and a fun way to read through all the tasty options. I truly wanted to order 30 things and nearly did. We started with the lobster bisque and a refreshing watermelon salad, they also brought out complimentary deviled eggs topped with a caviar. The eggs were a solid addition, I love a deviled egg; the lobster bisque was just about the best there ever was, with a nice, full flavored, yet light and silky broth and succulent morsels of lobster; we went to heaven and back sharing this soup. The watermelon salad was perfectly done with a salty feta and a few intense specks of fresh chili that you couldn't find until you ate one without anything else and it really packed a punch. Very refreshing dish that you could even save for after the meal. We ordered the hellfire roll because my mom pointed out how good it sounded and she absolutely loved how fresh and tasty it was. It was between the tuna tacos and crispy rice for me but I was absolutely fine shifting gears and getting this roll and I'm not at all mad about the decision. I will say I wasn't thrilled by it; the tuna wasn't brûléed at all like it should have been and the rice felt heavy. My momma enjoyed it and that's all that matters. We were getting pretty full but our main event was coming up. Everything was perfectly timed, the staff was so friendly and attentive, the sort of excellence and elegance in a staff you don't really find anymore yet under the radar at the same time. You never really saw anyone standing around or even whizzing by, because they took care of every need and desire before you ever knew you needed it. Quite fantastic and must be mentioned how much that is appreciated. My mother ordered the steamed red snapper and I, thanks to the waiter's recommendation, went with the Branzino. This Was Out Of This World Gooood I don't order fish often, but if this was an option I'd get it every time. The crispy delicate skin cooked to perfection over a salted spinach and potato mash that was like being lifted by a cloud. Hers was fine, mine was fantastic! Although it was my mother's birthday, we were stuffed and did not indulge in desert. I wish we found room for the strawberry rubharb crumble for her birthday because I know she'd adore, but we clearly indulged enough all night. The staff kept coming by to wish her a happy birthday and I really appreciated that. We even joked that they had a bet that they could say it 70 times, one for each year Hard to pick a favorite but, I would get a water cooler full of that lobster bisque and use it as my new source of hydration. read more

Starting off by walking in and hostesses saying system was down (told them we would pay cash) so if we didn't have a reservation we couldn't sit and eat at a table, But they told us we can eat at the bar . Place was empty . So we sat at the bar with Ariel who was great , and ordered $500 worth of food for 2 people . They brought out the food too fast where we couldn't enjoy each course. Also there was no room sitting at the bar for all these courses . You would think after seeing the amount of food we ordered and the place being empty they would put us at a small table considering there was 10 people in the entire restaurant. We came to Lure Fishbar for weekend brunch and I absolutely loved the atmosphere. It has a beautiful decor and feels like you're on an elegant cruise ship. They seated us in a quiet corner, which was nice. I ordered the Smoked Salmon Benedict ($22+), which came with hash brown potatoes and green salad. Keen to try other seafood dishes next time. read more

Lure Fishbar has got to be some of the best sushi I've had! It was so delicious it literally melted in my mouth. Amazing oysters and crispy rice. Nigiri was perfect. Loved the boat aesthetic and yummy espresso martinis! Would 100% go back! read more
A Soho classic and go to restaurant for all your seafood desires, Lure Fishbar is a go to for your raw bar needs. The restaurant is incredibly ritzy and I get the feeling this may be one of the better spots to grab a drink and take in the ambiance. Speaking of ambiance, the theme is basically being in the interior of a boat or yacht. Very theme appropriate. For the food, I'd say the raw bar is the star here. Can't really go wrong with any traditional seafood options but, ironically enough, I heard the burger here is pretty great. To be honest, I think the one thing I'd skip here is the sushi. While the fish is fresh the sushi itself feels mediocre at best. There are simply better options. read more
Popped in here for a work dinner; the restaurant is under the store above, so down a flight of stairs, and almost unnoticeable otherwise. The decor reminds one of a wooden sea vessel interior; floors and tables and more all decorated and plank-style construction. Bathrooms through a back corridor near the kitchens. Gets very busy. We had the seafood plateaux deluxe (oysters, shrimp, clams, crab claws, seafood salad and some tuna tartare) which was just okay. The signature oysters - kushi w/ jalapeno ponzu and kumamoto w/ wasabi leaf were excellent, though, highly recommend these over the default seafood tower. Salads we tried two: - Kale caesar - eh, neither of us liked this one; texture and bitter from the kale wasn't too good - The beet and blood orange was much better, but I had to dig to figure out where the blood orange was. Had a better version over in Brooklyn at Vinegar Hill House. Mains: - Sea urchin bucatini was very good, blue crab, garlic, and a spicy kick. - New York Strip was ok; get it at a steakhouse, go with the seafood here. Brunched here today and was a tad underwhelmed considering the hefty prices. The drinks range $18-22, ordered 2 cocktails that came with way too much ice and not enough alcohol. The King Crab Rolls were a let down; the rice was old and hard; the devil eyes topped with caviar was salty. The mushroom omelette was overcooked, sent back to have fixed, and the salad didn't have any dressing on it. Had to request something. The lobster Roll was ok, but saturated in mayo, and the brioche was hard (them toasting it didn't cover up that fact). Overall I was happy with my Beets and Blood Orange Salad, except they left out the blood oranges and when ai questioned it I was told the yellow beet was the orange . But shortly after the server came out with a small bowl of bottled blood oranges. I was anticipating bringing my daughter here for her birthday, but unfortunately it fell short on my standards. There are a handful of restaurants that make me feel what the Bee Gees "More Than A Woman (SG's Paradise Edit)" makes me feel: Somber, inspired, reflective, and appreciative. Lure Fishbar is one of these restaurants......... sorry I'm just in the coffee shop vibing so hard to this song rn ahahaha it has me floatin. Upon entering through the steps below the Prada store, it took me a bit longer than I'd like to admit to realize that the inside was shaped after the cabin of a boat. Like halfway through dinner I realized and almost shared my revelation with the table, but was like nah everyone else forsure realized that RIGHT when they walked in ahahaha. We had a sushi heavy meal that consisted of Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice, Shrimp Tempura appetizer, Lure House Roll, Tuna Hell Fire Roll, Yellow Tail Jalapeno roll, Lobster Tempura Roll, and a few others but the red wine was taking the wheel at that point. The all stars for me were the Lure House Roll and the Tuna Hell Fire Roll. The Hell Fire Roll came with this Kimchi sauce on the side that was unlike anything I've ever had in the best way possible. It's these kind of creative risks in the food realm that keep me inspired and keep my faith in humanity alive. Some of the best sushi I've had in the city. That shrimp tempura app was actually CRACKIN too that's a must get. After we finished our meal, we began to take interest in a table over my right shoulder which had to be an early-stage date for this cute couple. Bro got the glass Voss water, that's how you KNOW. However, this girl would NOT get off her phone. She took a call at the table, was pounding that Iphone screen with her thumbs, and at one point even got up and stepped outside for like 10 minutes, but wasn't even on a call, was still just texting. Meanwhile, bro was just sitting alone DESTROYING those deviled eggs and martini while checking the weather app ahaha. Poor guy. We as a table were like nah this is actually insane, he needs to get a box for those deviled eggs and dip out. Maybe it was a real emergency for her, but if it was she should have apologized and left? It turned out to be like a 20 minute ordeal where she was outside or just on her phone and then we were like we gotta go it's gettin late. Wild. Anyways, all this to say there is some fantastic people watching here on top of high quality food and an elite ambiance. Lure is a unique and special place, and has kept its soul and character despite being so popular for 20 years and counting. Everyone who likes seafood should experience this place at least once. The only reason to venture down into this nautical food spot is to people watch. On a mundane Wed night, the place was filled to the brim with pretty, well-dressed people of the Caucasian persuasion--mostly from the fi bro genus and the cocktail-dressed socialites who mate with them. Otherwise, you're in for a laughingly overpriced, mediocre seafood meal. Five pieces of Spicy Tuna Crispy Sushi Rice--an appetizer at most sushi spots generally clocking in at $10-15 for 6-8 pieces--cost a ridiculous $27 for five tiny pieces. The tuna was tasteless, and the crispy rice was over-fried to the point of inedible. Also, take note that this popular option is $27, NOT $25 as stated online. The Sea Urchin Bucatini was only mildly better, in that it was actually a size commensurate to its classification as an entree. However, the "urchin" part of it was a laughable thimble-size, so tiny it barely qualified as anything more than dust. This dish cost $41, NOT $38. In fact, that's one thing all diners should take note before coming: The prices on Lure's online menu are lower than the real ones at the restaurant. Expect to pay $2-5 more per item. This has been my go-to spot for lunch and dinner during my lunch break and dinner spot on the weekend. They always serve the ideal soft and lightly crunchy Tempura Shrimp. I would recommend ordering this with the spicy mayo sauce on the side since the drizzle is sometimes heavier on one side over the other. And the latest addition to the menu is the Crispy Rice Spicy Tuna 5pc which is perfect balance of spicy and crispy that it has been my favorite dish to order along with the Miso Glazed Salmon and Tempura Shrimp Roll. Another plus about this restaurant is that the decor which feels like you are in a boat being served various seafood dishes and sushi dishes along with other dishes. I came here last week with some friends for their birthdays. We had reservations for 1230 and were greeted happily and seated immediately. We shared the bacon wrapped shrimp, pork & shrimp potstickers and shrimp tempura appetizers. We devoured the bacon wrapped shrimp, I highly recommend. My friends ordered the chicken crispy club and the miso glazed salmon. They told me it was good but couldn't convince them to share LOL I got the red snapper, it was delicious and perfectly seasoned. This ended up being a quick lunch and we didn't get a chance to have dessert. We'll have to do that next time. The wait staff was terrific as well. read more

My friend and her bf took us here for an early bday celebration and said Lure Fishbar is one of their favorite restaurants. It's also in the shape of a boat on the inside - super cool. We arrived early and got drinks at the bar. The lychee martini was deliciously strong! + Deviled eggs topped with caviar 5/5: Delicious appetizer! Caviar and crème fraîche make a classic combination. + Sea urchin bucatini 5/5: Yummmm! Umami is outta control. + Lobster mac and cheese 5/5: Great texture between the mac and cheese and breadcrumbs. Big pieces of lobster chunks too. + Yellowtail roll 5/5: Wasn't expecting much, but wow the yellowtail was so fresh and melted in my mouth. Lure Fishbar gave us complimentary teriyaki shrimp lollipops as well as two plates of birthday desserts. We all had so much fun here! read more

Upon entering, you feel like you've been transported onto a ship as there's a lot of boat-inspired decor. The ambiance is classy and sophisticated yet somewhat casual at the same time. Most of the food we got was absolutely incredible. My favorites have to be the Hamachi Ponzu Crispy Sushi Rice and the Shazam Roll. The Classic Lobster Roll is a skip but I would suggest the Sea Urchin Bucatini as it's pretty unique. The pasta was cooked perfectly, the portion of blue crab was solid, and the sea urchin made it even creamier. The only reason I docked 1 star was that after our starters & sushi rolls, they seemed to have forgotten about our entrees. We waited over 30 minutes; our waiter and others were walking by, glancing at our empty table, but didn't think to check until we finally flagged down our waiter. maritime magic in manhattan -- below deck on the corner of prince & mercer, lure is soho's golden-hued nautical odyssey quality over complexity. lure offers two (very different) burger options. both 21 day dry-aged, chuck cut certified winners. both coated in richly melted american cheese. both topped with a heavily battered and thinly sliced red-onion ring THE LURE BURGER -- coastal minimalism perfected on a toasted brioche bun, with iceberg lettuce, heirloom tomato, and house-pickled cucumbers brined in solution of rice vinegar, sugar, and mustard seed. the classics, where everything is just better THE BASH BURGER -- a symphony of savory complexity. dijon mustard and shaved pickles lay beneath the burger on a sesame seed bun, topped with a slow cooked house-made bacon jam reduction and special bash sauce table consensus: lure style is the way to go -- quality of that brioche bun makes last bite as good as first. I thought bash burger would be clear top-choice, but teeters on edge of too much ofc the crispy rice spicy tuna, lobster bisque, and salmon tiradito are insane (as expected). but don't sleep on the buffalo chicken lollipops ("best part of the meal"). what's most impressive about lure is how incredible all the *non* seafood options are at a seafood restaurant. that includes the midnight penny, a genuis scotch cocktail with an extra long earthy finish wrapped in a smoky blanket long live lure fishbar read more

Loved this place. Came here for brunch. Such a cool interior, and food & service were both great. Cocktails were fantastic. Highly recommend both the lychee martini and the Autumn Sweater. The plates are on the smaller side, which I actually enjoyed. The spicy tuna crispy rice & deviled eggs with caviar were delicious, and the lobster dumplings were my favorite. Huevos rancheros were skippable but still good. Cookie for dessert was super rich & caramel-heavy. Our waitress was wonderful, only complaint is that the bartender made a cosmo incorrectly, but it was taken care of! read more
This was my second time here. I came back for the branzino, deviled eggs, the warm cookie dessert, and of course oysters! Our waitress recommended one east coast and one west coast oyster for us to try and both were so fresh and delicious. The branzino comes out on a bed of mash and sautéed spinach. The drink pictured is the Samantha Jones cocktail which has elderflower and mint in it. Very light and refreshing. I will definitely be back! read more

This was a highly recommended place by the concierge at our hotel and we were glad to make it there for lunch. Ordered their hellfire roll lunch which has spicy tuna, cucumber and kimchi sauce. It was nicely presented, fresh and very well flavored. I liked it so much that I wanted to order another one, but we didn't have much time and they take a while to bring the food out. Also ordered their lure burger and asked the meat to be medium rare. They did a fantastic job with it. The place is nice but tables are too close to each other. I had to be so careful squeezing myself in without knocking down one of the glasses on the table next to me. read more

UGH - you want to say Lure is overrated because it is a bit pricey $$$ but it is worth every single penny! I have dreams about their tempura shrimp and sushi rolls. The interior is one of the most unique and Sophisticated "themed" restaurants. You really feel like you are dinning on a fancy ship cruising through the sea. Come aboard this restaurant that has delicious and innovative seafood dishes. The restaurant looks like the inside of boat, with sunken in booths and dark wood paneling. Highlights: our waiter was friendly and attentive The pineapple oysters were a refreshing way to start the meal, we did the 12 combo, our favorite was the pineapple and the jalapeño Would also recommend the uni crispy rice roll Yelpers had recommended the uni bucatini pasta and it was maybe the best thing we ate. We loved that the they had creekstone steak but wished there was a better char. We ordered our steak med rare but it was almost rare. The whipped mashed potatoes are an absolute most though. What we you should pass on: The king crab California...we love king crab, but the California was not the way to enjoy it. The lobster roll was probs the biggest let down of the night, the bread was not toasted, butter was badly needed oh and a little cracked pepper or like any seasoning would have been nice.
