Ana did a wonderful job on our pup. She referred to notes from previous groomings, showing me (with an example swatch of simulated fur) the length his coat would be. She's also very friendly and upbeat. What I liked about today's appointment is it was scheduled for a specific time (about an hour), so they immediately work on your dog's grooming as soon as they come in. There are other places where they must batch certain steps together because your dog ends up being there for several hours. I like this "dedicated time" better because I then know my dog isn't confined to a kennel for long periods of time waiting to be worked on. Prices are very reasonable and they have promotions from time to time making it even more affordable. So all in all a great experience. read more

I've been a customer here early days when they just started and have been a reoccurring customer. Today was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. My appointment was at 2:39x I was texted at 4:30 that my dog will be ready to pick up in an hour. At that time I was nervous that I haven't received any updates because the store closes at 5:00z so I called multiple times and no one picked up. I drove to the store anyway because I didn't want him to be there overnight and waited there until 6:00. **Horrible service!! Do NOT take your pet here.** When we arrived, the groomer had an attitude and completely ignored what I was saying about the haircut I wanted for my dog. My mom and I both said--not once, but four times--**"We do not want him to be shaved."** The groomer, Jefferson, said "yes" but completely dismissed our request. We also had an issue because Jefferson insisted our dog isn't a Maltipoo. We bought Milo (our dog) as a Maltipoo, and even his veterinary medical records state that he is a Maltipoo. However, Jefferson claimed there was "no way on earth" he is and charged us the price for grooming a Goldendoodle. We would *never* lie about our dog's breed to get a cheaper price. Yet, both Jefferson and the front desk person implied that we were lying and even laughed in our faces when we told them he's a Maltipoo. We contacted our breeder, who was shocked by the disrespect and disbelief we faced. This is actually the second time we've experienced issues like this at Lush Spa. Later, Jefferson began inspecting Milo's coat for knots. However, we brush Milo every day due to his curly hair--we are very careful to prevent matting. Despite this, Jefferson kept insisting Milo's hair was too difficult to groom and needed to be cut short. We told him repeatedly that there were no knots or matting, but he continued to ignore us. Another issue: we explained that Milo is a very sensitive puppy when it comes to grooming and requires patience. Jefferson showed no care or interest in what we were saying. We even showed him inspiration pictures (included in this review), and he said he knew how to do that. Then he told us we *had* to choose a haircut from their book--but also admitted that nothing in the book matched the style we wanted. Again, we reminded him: **"We DO NOT want him to be shaved."** We left Milo for his grooming appointment and waited three hours for a call. When we returned, to our shock and disappointment, Milo had been completely shaved. My mom asked, "Why is he shaved? We told you not to shave him." Jefferson simply responded, "You guys chose that cut. Milo will be thankful for it," handed us the leash, and walked back inside without another word. His behavior was rude and dismissive from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. Milo came out visibly sad and wasn't his usual playful self after the groom. **We will NOT be returning. Terrible Lush Spaw experience: I booked my two dogs for their grooming at Lush Spaw Winchester location yesterday with Cristian based on positive reviews here on Yelp. We came in a little early and met with Cristian who seemed a very nice and bubbly person. I told him that my dogs are a little grimy from boarding (but not too dirty that a bath can't clean). He said it's totally fine and that's what the dogs are there for, to get their baths and grooming. After I explained to him what I wanted done for the dogs, I am confident that this will be a positive experience for us being a first time customer with Lush Spaw. Unfortunately, I was wrong; I was disappointed when my two dogs got home, not only my Golden Retriever was cut too short and uneven, but both of the dogs were still grimy and they looked like they were not given a bath and ears weren't cleaned. Did they need more time to wash/groom the dogs? Would it cost more? Sure, we can totally understand and pay for it. Is this the expected outcome because we got the 20% off that they offer for the first visit? Nonetheless, I think this would be our last grooming with Lush Spaw. read more
