I got my nails done at Lux for the first time recently and had a good experience. The staff was kind, the salon was clean, they took their time with the pedicure and gel manicure, and I felt that they did a great job. However, my gel manicure started chipping the next day. I don't know why it did... maybe the gel I chose was old/dried out or something. Again, I think the quality of the manicure was good! I was hesitant to go back to Lux and have it fixed, but I did, 5 days after my manicure. It's always uncomfortable to tell people that I'm dissatisfied, but the front desk manager didn't bat an eye - she took care of me and I got the gel manicure redone (photo). I am very satisfied with how they address customer care and satisfaction. Highly recommend.

If I could leave 0 stars I would... My legs are all scratched up, my cuticles are chopped and my toes look like they have clear polish on them after an overpriced pedicure. I had been wanting to visit this salon for the longest time--it always seemed like the perfect place to treat myself. When I finally went in, I initially planned to get my usual white polish pedicure but decided last minute to go with a classic pedicure and a regular color instead. Everything started fine until the technician began scrubbing my legs with the same small yellow sponge she had just used to remove dead skin from the bottom of my feet. It was painful, and despite flinching multiple times, she kept going. She also clipped too much of my cuticles, causing two of my toes to bleed. To make matters worse, she applied gel polish without asking, and before I even had a chance to correct her, my foot was already under the lamp. Another staff member checked in to see if I was okay with gel, but at that point, I just went along with it. The final result was disappointing--the color didn't even match what I had chosen and ended up looking like clear polish. I paid $67 (including an extra $5 for gel), expecting at least a quality experience, but it wasn't worth it at all. Frustrating. :/ Will not come back.

Clean and quiet salon. Went in for the first time and would give Hannah a 10/10. What a charming little lady. Her attention to detail is impressive. She knows what she's doing, really loves making customer happy, and my nails look great after, what else can you ask for from a nail artist. Plus the hand massage she gives at the end was ‍

So I waited a while to post this because I was livid at my service here. I had come here to get my nails done for my wedding in October. It was three days before the wedding. I had an image posted on here of what I wanted and the next photo is what I got. During the time I was getting my nails done they kept telling me how nice it looks and to trust the process, 4 nail techs came to see the progress and would say woooww... to the point that I'm looking at my nails thinking maybe I'm blind or hopefully it will get better, it did not. They even put a heart sticker on one of the nails for good measure ? I should have spoke up but I had spent enough time there and there was no acrylic or gel, the total cost for this was 80 bucks. I went to another salon same day fixed it and it looked like the photo with gel and acrylic and spent 60 bucks. These people took advantage of my situation and kindness , gaslighted me and gave me soo much extra stress before my wedding. I'd recommend going to Jolie nails on California street, they know what they are doing. Never going back here again.

My go-to place! Truc and the rest of the girls are fantastic. I appreciate that they ask throughout the process how things look to me in case there's anything I want to change. Sorry Lux, I'm not terribly pressed this time around. For covid protocols, I think they do great my having as many separators as possible as well as having you use hand sanitizer and asking you to continue to wear masks. Everyone is doing their part with PPE. I dropped in to get my nails done with a design a week ago. Here's where it gets disappointing. First, it seems like getting an appointment is the way to go especially if you want nail art. Ask for Hannah for nail art as it looks like she does great stuff. I had a picture of the nail art I wanted done and got the vibe from my manicurist that she wasn't very eager to do it. That's fine, I saw she had amazing nails and asked her to do a similar style on mine. She had me choose which accent nails I wanted and suggested a polish I'd like for the rest of my nails. Problems arise here: cuticle care was painful and all I got was oh that hurts? Yes. It does. No antibiotic or anything. So my cuticles took a few days to heal after the manicure. She added multiple layers of base coat so my nails are already super thick without any color added on. (Length was added which I understand.) My left pinky got the most attention with the magnetic polish so it looks great. The rest of my nails? Not so much so the effect is unimpressive. The nail itself is uneven and off center. Then came my nail art! Looks great BUT exactly one week later, my nails are already starting to bubble. I already had one begin to bubble away a few days after but I sealed it with some of my own top coat. I used to love this place and would recommend to everyone. My most recent experience has been quite lacking. Do your research and make an appointment if you want a good experience. It's been a hit or miss for me now.

Had a great experience here. Came for a walk-in appointment and was immediately seated and two technicians came and did both my manicure and pedicure. I hadn't picked out my color yet so they brought me a book of options that I could look at while they got started. They did a great job cleaning everything before applying the polish for the mani/pedi. The color turned out great! Overall an incredibly pleasant experience and I'll definitely be back:)

I just had the most amazing experience at Lux Beauty Nail Care. Hannah is a true professional! I felt pampered and spoiled and my feet look and feel amazing. Hannah was kind and friendly and did a wonderful job! I was in visiting my daughter who will definitely be a frequent customer. If you go here, be sure to ask for Hannah. I came with a friend for a spa mani-pedi with normal polish. Everyone was friendly, but twice on the pedicure a dremel was used too close to my cuticles and left them cut and bleeding. On the manicure the top coat does not reach the tip of the nail leaving an odd ridge and the tips chipping off. There was also a decent amount of overpainting onto the cuticle. I don't like leaving bad reviews, but for $90 I would expect better. read more

Came in for a regular manicure and was pushed to upgrade to gel. When I declined, I was told they couldn't guarantee the manicure would last more than one day. A basic manicure should last longer than that, and the upselling made the experience uncomfortable. I won't be returning. read more

Overpriced and poor job. I took a while to write this because I was so upset. I wanted a regular polish Mani Pedi. I wanted the Mani to be a French tip... The technician literally said she could not do a French tip with regular nail polish. What kind of technician are you if you don't know how to do a French tip with color with regular polish. I have been to cheaper places and they've done full designs with regular polish, so bs on that. Nails came out okay but not worth 60$ edges were missing color. Too bad I didn't take any photos. Hygienically, they double dip utensils in the scruband sometime use one that's in there on the skin.... This is how skin diseases transfer. So I will not be taking the chance here ever again. The real kicker was when I went to take off the polish at home after a couple of weeks... They must've used shellac on the top coat or something weird, it would not come off with regular polish remover. It eventually had to be scraped off the nail, damaging my nails. Would not recommend overpaying for a subpar service. Will not come back here. Lucky I didn't get infected. Lucky my nails were able to heal after that. read more

I've had my nails done 2 times with Mahsa at Lux Beauty in the San Antonio shopping center. I usually never ask for the same technician twice, but Mahsa does an amazing job. Pays close attention to detail, and she's a wonderful conversationalist. The salon itself is clean, relaxing, and friendly. I'll return again and again and again...Highly recommend read more

I have been passing by this place everytime I go to safeway. I was hesitant to get service from this place because the name itself sounded very pricey and that I would be getting average service like where else no matter how expensive you pay. BUT I WAS WRONG. It was my 1st time there today and got a gel fresh mani & Lavender spa pedi. Jenny did my pedi & June took care of my mani...At first I wasn't so sure if they would provide the service I was expecting. But boy! It succeeded my expectations! They were both so professional, they know what they were doing and they did not rush at all! I've been to so many nail spas that nail specialists are always in a rush to receive more customers! Anyways, BOTTOMLINE of the review is that I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!!! They provide great service & your $$ are super worth it!!! I will be coming back here again for more. Nothing "Lux" or luxury about this place. I walked in around 9am and left at 12pm. Gel Pedicure was fine. Quick and Easy. No complaints there. New Set- Manicure was terrible. THICK. CROOKED. SLOPPY. HAD TO BE RE-DONE TWICE. Both hands came out very looking differently since MULTIPLE TECHS worked on each hand at the same time. Very unprofessional.... I was annoyed and just wanted to leave I was sitting for 3 hours with all the nail techs hovering over me. It's supposed to be a relaxing experience and I left feeling frustrated and highly disappointed waste of my money. Crooked nails?! I'm really unhappy with these nails. I've never been to a nail place where they would think "oh yea a crooked nail looks acceptable". I don't think this lady is experienced at all. She also shaved so much of my cuticle off that it hurts to wash my hands. Service was great. But I would not be back for someone to come shave my skin off and give me crooked nails!! Edit: I reached out asking for them to fix it but they never replied so service is not as good as I thought read more

Pricey but walk-ins are welcome. Service is fast, facility is clean, staff is courteous. The ambiance is comforting as the lighting is good and they play some soft background music. The massage chairs are noisy. Parking could be a little tricky but there is a Safeway next to the plaza so you can park there. They do not offer masssage in spa pedi, just something to be mindful of. All in all will visit again but service could be better read more

I wanted to treat myself to a nice pedicure but this wasn't worth it. Despite it being relaxing and not busy, the service was not the best. My polish chipped and it was too thick in some areas of my pedicure. On top of that I also received many cuts on my toes from filing too hard on my skin, don't recommend even if you're in a rush. read more

Lux nail spa wasn't as luxurious as their name suggests. A very basic mani-pedi (no massage) will be done in about 30 minutes if your goal is mainly efficiency and a polish change. Their main plus is being so well located right next to Safeway. If your goal is a relaxing and pampering experience there are other nail salons walking distance from here that will do a better job. I don't think I'll be back. read more

Pros: talented nail techs (see picture, i was very pleased with how my nails turned out) and decent health protocol (hand sanitizer & temperature check before entering) Cons: I was in the chair for 2 hours, and my nail tech didn't even cut my cuticles, soak my hands, or give me a massage so I wouldn't recommend this place for anyone in a rush. Additionally, the "appointments" are fairly meaningless. I've been here multiple times for pedicures and have always felt pleased about my nails after. The place feels clean, the ladies are friendly. They will offer you water or tea, although I've never wanted to drink any cause taking off masks were a hassle. I'm often able to get same day appointments which is nice. If you have sensitive eyes or hate that burning/watery-eye feeling from traditional lash extensions, UV lashes are honestly a game changer. So get ready for your time there to be filled with information on their services and the consultation to make you feel like you're already buying something. It's a little pushy but their pricing seems reasonable so far and it also means they want to answer questions and help you make a decision that fits for you. The laser facial was helpful in keeping some of my acne from getting reinfected. I'm also hopeful going back will help reduce some of the scarring on my face as well. I did end up getting the middle range membership so we will see how it goes but so far I think it's a good option for people with a busy schedule who need a little extra help maintaining skin.

As a customer, I didn't feel I got the whole treatment. We further talked about pulse count vs the duration of the treatment because I felt what was explained above. They were not able to release information the pulse count. They will not refund nor consider feedback regarding their unsatisfactory of treatment service. I think a lot of the time was wasted for my appointment when the main purpose customers go there is for proper treatment. Just beware, (whatever marked $) promo for their $275 signature isn't all that truthful. Definitely not world $275. Ask around other places and they will tell you it will be 15-60 minutes long treatment. Nothing shy of that.

Lux Nails - Please read before you get your nails done here! This nail salon needs to be reported to the california BBB and workers treatment to the state of california!! The owner - over books the nail salon workers and pushes them to work way over time and for too many days in a row, I have been going for years, they do not get the breaks they need, they work way over the california law limit. The owner - in 100 degree heat does not have the air conditioner on, this is a risk for older clients, and the workers to pass out and especially with the fumes of the nail products it is a health issue to have no air on. The workers and her husband try to put the air on and as soon as she arrives she turns it off in sweltering heat - these workers are being abused!!! Do not spend your money here and report this business !! Please log a report to the BBB , may of her customers are complaining , they need to be audited by the state of california workers comp. read more
