Dang good brunch!! My wife and I stopped in here while visiting New Orleans and grabbed brunch. We were sat immediately and service was quick. I had the fried chicken and pancake while my wife got the jambalaya omelette. Both were delicious. Coffee was good. For a busy Sunday morning it was awesome to get in somewhere and she taken care of quickly and still receive quality service and delicious food. Would absolutely go back again. You can go explore local art and music around the square after you eat too! Great location and great food.

This place was a pleasant surprise. We were hungry and has some places we wanted to go eat, but we had spent a long time trying to meet up with friends and everything was packed with waits. This place had an open table, which made us nervous, but the hospitality pulled us in. The waitress was sweet as pie. We ordered and the food came out sooooo quickly. It was literally the best situation we could ask for in the moment. The drinks were so good (highly recommend the Bloody Mary here). I got the shrimp and grits, and it was delicious. The grits did have a few clumps, but I didn't care since the flavor was really great. I loved the creole BBQ seasoning on the shrimp. My man got the gumbo and loved it.

We had lunch here and were able to share a meal plus add soups so we could all sample more of the menu. We all tried: jambalaya, chicken and sausage gumbo, seafood gumbo, red beans and rice, and Cajun sausage. My favorites were the chicken and sausage gumbo and red beans and rice. I had a tasty local brew with mine, but I don't remember the name. The space has seen lots of diners with the scuffed tables and floors, but it didn't look worn out or shabby, just comfy. The AC was cranking out cold air and the waitress was friendly. I'd come here often if I lived here.

Big Easy Benedict .. oh my!! Delicious!! And the grits are so good too!

If I could give this 10 stars I would! The food was amazing!! We had the Big East Benedict (eggs on top of Fried Green Tomatoes). Absolutely delicious!! Also had the Country Breakfast... the fried chicken is so tasty!! The grits are very creamy and yummy. The service was excellent!! Perfect location right on the corner of Jackson Square across from Cafe du Monde. HIGHLY recommend this place!!

I wanted to love this, TRULY I did. My son recommended this place to us and we made a special trip across the River to have brunch. The service was AMAZING, and the atmosphere was great but the food was mediocre at best. I will say though that the coffee was the best I think I've ever had and the King Cake beignets were absolutely delectable, definitely the highlight of the meal, but it went downhill from there. I had the Crab Cake Benedict, and my hubby had the jambalaya omelet. The first bite was okay but it went from okay to no way really quickly. The food was just over warm and tasted more like reheated leftovers than freshly prepared just for us. The coffee and beignets are what earned the 2 stars, and tbh I'm tempted to even give 3 because of just how amazing they truly were, but we were STARVING and left still hungry so I'll give it a 2.5 for now and maybe give it another chance in the future because their beignets really were that good. Sorry Monty, I really wanted to love you but you broke my heart and left me with a hungry tummy.

A nice breakfast/brunch place right by Jackson Square. It was the first meal we had in NOLA and we enjoyed it. We sat by the French doors which were open in the morning and you were able to get a good view of the jazz band across the street playing at Cafe Du Mond. It was also a good spot to people watch all the folks going by on the street. It wasn't too busy when we went in but the service was a little slow at the time. I'm not sure if it is like that always but it wasn't too much of an issue and the food was still good so we weren't really bothered by it. We ordered the big easy benedict, the fried chicken benedict, and a cajun alfredo. The fried green tomatoes in the big easy benedict were tasty and I liked the fried chicken and gravy on mine. My brother, who ordered the alfredo, said it was the best he ever had. He loved the Cajun spices on it and said it was very flavorful.

This is the cutest spot. Open to the outside with great views. The chicken was seasoned perfectly. Grits were creamy. Fast service. We got there right when they opened at 9.

As our first meal in NOLA, this was an excellent pick! We started with the king cake beignets which were phenomenal. They came out very fast, tasted so fresh, and had a life-changing cinnamon filling. My entree was the crab cake Benedict which was so good! It was served on a biscuit which I really enjoyed. The crab cake was flavorful and crisp and the egg was cooked perfectly. The potatoes were decent, nothing special. So many options for food and drinks here. Highly recommend as it is right near so many tourist hotspots!

Best grilled oysters I ever had. Go right after lunch and have a leisurely lunch and a drink ( or 2, after all it is New Orleans).

For entrées we had Banana Foster Pain Perdu, Side of Duck Bacon, Hashbrown, 100% Seafood Gumbo and Fried Catfish. Everything was seasoned to perfection and hot!!! Last but definitely not least are the Cocktails which were very good. Try the Cold Brew Martini if you like iced coffee type drinks and also try the Strawberry Lemon drop for a sweet treat. Both taste great and have a nice amount of spirits in them. This is a must try in NOLA. Will definitely return!!

Both were outstanding. The Bananas Foster French Toast was rich, indulgent, and packed with flavor without being overwhelmingly sweet. The bananas and sauce were the perfect complement to the French toast, making it feel like a New Orleans dessert and breakfast all in one. The Boudin Breakfast Biscuit was equally impressive. The biscuit was fresh and flaky, and the boudin added a delicious Cajun flavor that set it apart from a typical breakfast sausage. Every bite was savory, satisfying, and uniquely Louisiana. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was welcoming, and it's easy to see why Surrey's has such a loyal following. The hashbrowns were very crispy and seasoned well, so I loved them, as soggy hashbrowns are a major pet peeve of mine. The chicken biscuit was good, but I'm not 100% sure it was to my taste. It was massive and very hard to eat, and there was a lot of fried chicken skin. The mayo on the sandwich was definitely homemade and had a very strong egg flavor, so I would go without that next time. The biscuit was probably the best biscuit I've ever had. As a California girl, I think the flavors might have just been a little too strong for me, but still a great spot to stop by.

We checked into our nearby hotel a bit early in the day and was looking to hit the streets for a spot to get a chill/light breakfast, a coffee and maybe a cocktail. We found all the things at Luzianne Cafe. Whether you belly up to the bar or grab a table, both of which are first come first serve, you start at the counter where you order, pay and grab your table number. It appears that during busy times they allow you to sit first and order from the QR at your table, this is an assumption given the code to order at the table, but the sign at the entry directed folks to the counter to order before sitting. For breakfast, we got the breakfast biscuit which came with eggs, bacon and cheese, and sided it with grits. The breakfast sandwich was solid, eggs were a bit soft and grits were more mealy than we are used to, but I think that may be authenticity of the area more than anything. I opted for the three option omelet with onion, sausage and gouda plus a side of sausage links. The omelet, though odd sounding combination turned out to be solid. Maybe it was my options, but it was decently "one note" in flavor. I tossed a little hot sauce on and that helped. However, while the sausage links were not much to look at, they were tasty, with a nice snap to the casing and meaty inside. To go with our breakfast, I got a cold brew with a splash of almond milk while my partner embraced NOLA and started his day with a bourbon sour. Both of us enjoyed our choices! Service was friendly and helpful at the counter/bar. The food runner was nice and then another member, assuming the Manager, that stopped by to check on us mid meal. She was super friendly and nice. I offered to order food to-go so we could at least sit down and get started while waiting, and she told me if I did that they would remove our name from the waitlist because "you have to pick one or the other." No willingness to problem solve whatsoever. She repeatedly said she was "sorry," but her actions showed the opposite.
