I came back a few months after their grand opening on a Monday afternoon and was happy with my drink. Strawberry milk tea w/ golden boba - 11/10, I loved this so much and the soft boba really made it great! Kindest employee alert! We stopped by for the evening treat on Saturday and encountered the sweetest employee. She was very kind and offered us to try different varieties of teas before we made our selection. As expected all teas were delicious which made it hard for us to pick one. Went on a late night walk with the husband and was surprised I haven't noticed this place sooner. Happy to have an alternative to Starbucks for my tea. Although we walked in 20 minutes before close the woman behind the counter was patient, kind, and helpful. I will definitely be back again, probably later this week. Decent boba shop! We came here today and it wasn't busy; I hope this changes because the drinks here are much better compared to that disgusting boba shop that used to be here (Busy Boba). The people behind the counter were friendly! The drinks were nice,flavorful, and cool (we got cold drinks). They have hot drinks here as well! Oma is so nice! First time at this location and she greeted us with so much kindness and let us try all the samples. She's so sweet and I can tell she is very loved by the community, with how the next woman that came in and immediately started catching up with her. Clean store, clean restroom, the place is amazing! Look. I will take Ding Tea five hundred times over the place that was here previously. The nice thing about Ding Tea is that you know what you're gonna get more or less regardless of where you go. My milktea was good. Boba nice texture. Now that they've been open for a month, they seem to be efficient. I haven't been here during busy hours. Came in after work at a rather busy time this afternoon (Tuesday) it would seem with high school coming out. The line was was long but moved swiftly as the girl up front was taking orders and quickly sticking stickers on cups and putting tickets on the wall for a quick set up for the woman behind making the drinks all with a smile on her face, the two were very in sync despite the rush- I let her know they looked like a mother- daughter duo. She recommended the brown sugar milk tea because it had caffeine and just the perfect amount of sugar, and I am sure glad she did. The 25% off this week was icing on the cake. I've been waiting for this place to open and from the service given and drink I had today, the wait was well worth it! read more

Visited for the first time today and ordered a Jasmine Green Tea with golden boba & absolutely loved it! Drink was made exactly as ordered and tasted just like the other Ding Tea locations! The service was great and the drinks were made in a timely manner. I used to visit Ding Tea in La Jolla a lot when I lived up there and was sad to see it close. Now that I moved to the Tierrasanta area, I'm so glad to see this spot is now open! Can't wait to visit again. :) read more

For the actual entree, I ordered a bone-in dry aged rib eye, my dad ordered the petit filet NY strip, and my mom had catch of the day, which happened to be the sea bass for $38. I didn't think my rib eye was bad, but it wasn't overly amazing either. The NY strip was awesome and wish I had ordered that instead. The sea bass was also cooked to perfection. Sadly, seems like my main dish was the only one that was off. For the side dishes, I do highly recommend the potato puree. The roasted mushroom is again, overly salted. For dessert, we ordered coffee and a tiramisu cheesecake. Amazing amazing cheesecake and excellent coffee. When I asked where the coffee was from, the server actually gave us a free bag of coffee beans since they actually don't sell the coffee at the roaster, so I really appreciated this gesture. Overall, I think the quality of the food here is somewhat inconsistent. Some dishes we had were great and others were off. But the excellent service here (and the fact they gave us free bag of coffee) warrants an extra star, which is why I'm giving this place a 4/5. Would I come back to this place again though? Probably not given how expensive the food is and the inconsistently quality, but it was nice that I gave this place a try in San Diego.

The restaurant wasn't packed with customers but they were definitely short staffed or something because there were two couples sitting next to us who were also waiting for their food. One couple was ready to leave when their food came out at that exact moment. The servers did apologize and told us that they were having issues with the kitchen. They also offered us all free orange juice. However, if they knew they were having issues with the kitchen then they should've told us earlier before we got seated so people could go elsewhere rather than waiting an hour for their food. Overall, service here was very poor. In terms of food, it was unfortunately pretty good but not worth the wait. I really liked the simple toast with matcha cream on top as well as the curry hamburg. My friend ordered the shakshuka (not pictured because it came last and everyone just wanted to eat at that point) which was also pretty good. For the avocado toast, the toast was too hard so I wouldn't recommend it. We also ordered a yuzu and matcha yuzu mimosa. Both tasted like yuzu. The matcha yuzu one was basically a green yuzu mimosa. They have a vero water purification system so their water was really good lol.

They stay open late, have ample parking, the space is clean, and the staff is friendly. They mainly operate with a kiosk ordering system, though I am sure you can order with an employee at the register if needed. The menu is displayed on a TV near the kiosk which makes it easy to find a drink. There are a few specials laid out on the register counter that make that area look a little cluttered. Maybe a bulletin board for those specials would make the space feel less busy, but it did not take away from my experience. After ordering we sat at one of the tables. There is a mix of high top seating and regular tables. I stayed here for about two hours to catch up on getting work done and there was still plenty of seating available. This was on a Tuesday from about 1 to 3 PM. I ordered the Green Tea with Cheese Foam, Golden Boba, 75 percent sweet, and less ice. My husband ordered the Aloe Vera Peach Juice with 75 percent sweet and half ice. We both ordered large drinks. There was no signage about WiFi and I did not see other reviews mentioning it either, so we asked. Luckily the staff gave us the WiFi password which makes this a nice option for studying or getting work done. Our drinks came out pretty quickly. My green tea drink was a little bitter which usually means the tea may have been steeped a bit too long. With the lower sugar level it made the drink taste closer to a 25 percent sweetness level. The boba was chewy like usual but lacked sweetness and flavor, which is pretty typical for Ding Tea. The cheese foam tasted really good but the texture was strange. I occasionally got little chunky bits through the straw that felt like curdled cheese. It was definitely an interesting texture moment. Luckily I am not super sensitive to textures or it might have ruined the drink. Overall my drink was about a 6 out of 10. The Aloe Vera Peach Juice was surprisingly really good. It had a nice peach flavor mixed with that classic aloe vera juice taste you get from bottled aloe drinks. It also came with aloe pulp pieces which worked like a topping. It was refreshing and perfectly sweet. There are not many other boba spots in the surrounding area so competition is limited, but Ding Tea still offers a solid selection of drinks and satisfies the boba craving.
