Okay, I've checked out about 4 different nail salons in the Thousand Oaks area and I always say the next one is my favorite. But I think this time, I've really found THE ONE ! Ann is a pure artist. I had a design in mind that pays particular attention to detail and lots of rhinestones. Ann painted on my nails like it was nothing! I was amazed by her work and how she made it look so easy. I left the place extremely happy and will be returning to her for a touch up. Total for acrylic and design came out to $75. Come here if you want beautiful designs on your nails! read more

Don't bother. Although there's a sign at the front that says walk-ins welcome, that's hardly the case. When I arrived without an appointment, i was told it would be 10 mins. 45 minutes later they i finally was assigned to one of the ladies for a pedicure. The foot bath was cold rather than being warm. After that, the pedicure was pretty good, but check out was terrible. Rude rude rude! read more

I really wanted to like this place but-as soon as I walked in....it was off. Picked out my color. Was then asked if I want my nails "done too"? I do my own nails (which are MY nails) mix my own powders and colors!! She then said "how about brows? Want a trim?" I say "ok" hesitantly because I know I've been trying to grow them out....for over two months!!! Sat down. Stuck my foot in hot water(1 extra star for this!).. Later on-the lady comes and tells me she's ready to do my brows. SHE WAXED THEM!!! I've been trying to grow them out so they can be trained! After she rips off another row and making them THIN again-I figured..might as well do the other one. She trims them up and of course suggests to me to get microblading done. Two stars. One for my girl who painted my toes as she was nice. Second star for hot water. Will not be back. Oh-and to be honest-MY OWN NAILS ROCK! read more

I get my nails done every month by Laura. She is wonderful. Although walk-ins are welcome, your best bet is to call and make an appointment. I've always been seen on-time, my pedicures look beautiful, and the girls are very kind. Make sure to bring cash or pay via Zelle. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! The supposed owner/manager Ann, completely took advantage of me. I had never had acrylics before. I had no idea about what was up with them, fills, pricing, nothing. I usually always look into things before doing anything and for some reason I just trusted Ann & I can't believe I was so stupid. I'm embarrassed to state how much she was charging me. She knew I was financially struggling, unemployed and just trying to do something nice for myself which I never ever get to do. This is the type of person u target to overcharge and try to come up on? Absolutely unreal & disturbing, Obviously being righteous, trustworthy and taking care of your customers is not something that Ann or this place is business values. It's bad business & not right. I am still so upset by this whole experience & the amount of money I wasted. I wish I never went here. I honestly obviously just want my money back. That would be a start to forgetting this unfortunate & disturbing experience that continues to bother me & affect me financially. Thanks Ann! I hope it was worth it. Hope it was worth loosing a customer over and future business. I have told everyone I know in and out or the area about this experience & to stay far away from this place. I'm barely ever able to get my nails done now but when I do, and When other nail salons hear about this, they are shocked. I went to get my nails done yesterday and the door was locked even though they were open . A woman came to the door and was very unfriendly and asked me what I wanted. I told her I wanted a gel manicure and she told me to come in and pick a color. The nail polishes were in dusty boxes laid out on the table and the nail samples were not accurate. There weren't many colors. The woman was working on somebody and didn't have the decency to tell me to come back or how long it would take after I asked her.I never got my manicure. I asked my friend if she had tried this nail salon before, and she informed me that it's her go-to place. She switched to here after being loyal to another salon for about 13 years. We decided to go together about three weeks ago. I'm not sure of the name of the woman who started my nails, but Anne finished them. I wanted rainbow ombré glitter tips on my real nails and they turned out beautiful, exactly what I wanted. I noticed afterwards that my nails were paper thin. This is very unusual for me. At my usual nail salon, they always point out how strong my nails are, even after removing gel. The next day, I was about to shower and felt a very bad pain in my finger. I had a nail that broke very far down. I don't do a lot with my hands, so there's nothing I would've done to cause this. I skipped my shower and went back to the salon. Anne had another nail tech dip the broken nail in dip powder (which was never filed and left extremely thick and uneven) and add two more layers of top coat to my nails. That only made them slightly stronger. All was well for a couple more days, until I noticed another nail broken all the way down. I did not want to go back again. I cut all my nails all the way down to where these breaks were. I waited a week or so and went back to my usual salon, who did an amazing job as usual. I recommend Top Nails in Thousand Oaks over this place. If you get acrylics or dip powder, I'm sure they're great. Don't get gels here. The tech seemed to have sanded off many layers of my natural nails. read more

I went to this place again recently to have my nails done for a wedding with the bridal group and had a different experience than I had before. It was recently taken over by a new person (Anne) and the salon has been renamed Luxe Nail Salon. Anne is very hard working and kept the salon open late on a Sunday. I thought I would be the last one to rush in, but there were a few more that squeezed in and she had no problem accommodating them. Great work ethic. She also is very good at remembering people's names, etc. Good customer service! The nail technicians are very skilled and did a great job. The vibe in the place also seems more upbeat...and they have so many gel colors !!! I don't live in the area anymore, but I'm tempted to keep coming back, because the color selection is amazing. Anne did a reverse half moon for me last time and I loved them. I feel like she has a good idea of what you want with little direction. I got a lot of compliments. The same thing happened for me again when I went back over Thanksgiving break...she was able to give me just what I wanted and that's not an easy thing; I'm quite picky. read more

Extremely poor service or lack of service completely! Walked in at 10:30am for a full set and a pedicure. There was a woman cleaning and a man eating. They said to pick a color and then had me put my feet in the water. The man disappeared into the back and closed the door. The woman continued to clean. After about 15 minutes and after the water went cold, I decided to get up and leave. She chased me to the door saying she would do my pedi now. I told her she was too busy cleaning and left. read more

There isn't enough hyperbole in the world adequate for Luxe. Anne has been doing my nails for 2 1/2 years now and everywhere I travel in the world I get new compliments on the work. You may even say I am a devotee. Read my earlier reviews for all the gushing detail but sometimes I feel like a review needs a little refresher so you can see the consistency of service. read more

These Latina women just bought their own salon. I have been seeing one for a long time and I'm so happy I found her. I know each one is loved. They are hard workers, do quality work and do a such a thorough job. Something you don't always find these days. So happy they are open!! I use to go to this nail salon often to get my nails done but I will never go back to this place. I keep on trying to get in contact with them through their Instagram account to book an appointment and lately they have been leaving me on delivered or seen for days. For example I would send a message on a Monday to make an appointment for Thursday and I noticed they had opened my message the following day yet have not replied or do not even open it at all. Also I had an appointment scheduled one time and they told me to wait in the seating area while they were cleaning the station and then someone came in and asked if they do walk-ins and immediately seated her at the station while they told me to wait even though I had an appointment. Safe to say not getting my nails done there ever again. read more

I'm so happy with my nails by Michael. I have been looking for a nail salon near home for over a year due to the fact my last nail lady only now does private clients. I have tried at least 5 other salons and have been so out of luck and finally have found my new go-to salon. I have such a tight schedule and finding a salon that can accommodate my schedule and get me in and out quickly is near impossible but I got a full set with design and polish change on toes and was out within 1:15 min! I showed him a picture of how I would like my nails and he nailed the design and the shape perfectly. Prices are also great. Will be back every 2 weeks! read more

I was so lucky to be one of Anne's first clients when she took over the location. From the very beginning I was amazed by how incredible her attention to detail and her drive for customer satisfaction was. I have been going to Anne regularly for over year now, despite the fact that I moved out of the area, because she is truly worth the drive! I've had acrylics for over 5 years and they would occasionally crack or pop off but that has NEVER happened since I started going to LuXe. Every time I see her I have a new crazy design idea and she always executes it flawlessly and efficiently. If something doesn't turn out how I like she she is always happy to fix it and work with me so that I get the design that I want. Everyone at LuXe is really great. Her husband, Michael, is also incredibly skilled and has done my nails more than once when Anne was unavailab, and they have always been top quality. I could not recommended LuXe enough. This is a QUALITY salon. If you want nails that will last and that will truly wow your friends this is the place to go. I always make an appointment and I do recommend calling ahead because Anne is in high demand - but there is definitely a reason why! read more

I usually have my nails done by one of the women when I come in. This time one of the guys did my nails. Never again. Not only did he leave the edges really ruff, and they actually catch on clothing, but the gel started peeling off after two days! I had to go buy matching polish at a cvs while on vacation to patch the missing polish. I don't care what they charge, gel nails shouldn't chip and peel after two days! From now on I will wait for one of the girls to be available. I've never had an issue with them doing my nails. read more

My friend took me here last year and I think I caught them on an off day. It was a Saturday so I understand they were very busy. We called ahead of time to check whether they were able to accommodate three of us for a mani and pedi and we were given the go ahead, but when we got there, they were definitely not ready for us. It was fine, we got seated in the massage chairs to soak our feet for a long time. We happened to have a lot of free time that day, and I'm sure they didn't want to lose out on three customers, but for people who are strapped for time, it is a little misleading to be told that they could be taken care of in that moment. I hardly ever get a regular manicure because I'm usually decent at painting my nails myself (love getting my cuticles cleaned up, though), and unfortunately my experience here reaffirms why I should keep it that way. My pedicure looked good, but my manicure was just sloppy. I chose an almost nude color, and when it was done, honestly it looked like I quickly painted my nails 30 minutes before bedtime while sitting in an area with dim lighting. It was uneven and the second coat didn't reach all the way down the whole nail. I think I still have the pics that I took of my finished mani on my old phone, but you get the idea. I didn't really notice until after he was done, and it is my fault for not speaking up before paying and leaving, but I felt bad. Also, a pet peeve of mine: upselling. Not a fan of repeated suggestions for other services. Nice staff, but I was disappointed and considered just removing the polish that night, but I kept it on. read more

Don't get your eyebrows waxed here! I have been here a few times now. Pedicures are great! Nails are ok. This afternoon I went in for a simple eye brow wax. I've been having this done for over 20 years so I understand it can hurt sometimes.... the lady who did mine (don't know her name because she never introduced herself) put the wax on and then ripped it off like she was on a mission! I said ow! No comment.... no relief gel nothing. Next brow... my eye started to twitch after the last eye experience.... she just pulled it tight and ripped it off. Granted they look good, but I should not have had any bleeding from a wax!!! read more

I got a gel manicure and a gel pedicure -- and I was treated so well, and I felt so pampered!! There were so many colors to choose from, and the nail technicians helped me out. Alex said that they've been there for 5 years, and the other client sitting next to me also said she's been a loyal customer since the start of their opening. I saw Alex greet people by name and go around to make sure everyone was comfortable. The place was so clean, smelled great (no weird nail salon smells!), & I am so happy with the results, and I will definitely be a repeat client!

I am going on a trip tomorrow and decided I wanted to pay to get them professionally done for the occasion to treat myself. This was a very good reminder of why I do them myself now... The nail tech was nice and worked quickly... too quickly. They didn't trim my cuticles or the skin around my nails. I asked for an ombré nail design, which is shown on their menu and provided a picture of the exact colors I wanted. Another nail tech came and took my phone to pick colors out and just started painting them on some of my nails before the original tech had even put gel on them. It was very odd... the second tech was rushing the first and was honestly doing a sloppy job. The color ended up being super off.. it was a Christmas tree green instead of a blue- teal color. I don't blame her for that, the bottle looked like a different color than the paint. They were also streaky and completely see-through. She asked if I liked them and I told her those things, and she told me the reference picture was see through too (which it was not-I added the reference) but she still redid them which I appreciated. I picked the new color myself, which matched the reference pic more and also wasn't see-through which was way better. The airbrush was having issues, which I could tell was super frustrating to them which sucks. But they just seemed to not really know how to do it very well. They finished and rushed me out quickly without cleaning any of the gel of my skin. With airbrush they usually wipe the paint off the skin before curing it so this doesn't happen. Now it's been a real pain to try to get off. They also did not clean up the sides of my nails, which were all jagged. I had to do a full nail clean up when I got home. Thankfully I have all the stuff at home to do that. The only reason for 3-stars is that the gel x nails are properly applied and should last. Overall I was not impressed. As a new client who is paying good money (and extra for a nail design) I expect some level of care. Also now knowing how to do a proper gel manicure, it's so obvious when they cut corners and rush (no nail/cuticle prep or clean up, only one layer of paint). And maybe don't offer a service (ombré) if you aren't confident in it or don't have properly working equipment. I wanted to do something nice for myself but ended up having more of a headache in the end, and had to pay my hard earned money for that headache.

My experience has never been with them. Unfortunately, the owner is the exception, and this experience completely changed my opinion of the salon. I called at 10:00 a.m. to schedule a simple manicure and pedicure for myself and my 6-year-old daughter for 1:00 p.m. When we arrived, the owner immediately insisted that I had never called. I calmly showed him my call log proving that I had called that morning. Instead of admitting the mistake or apologizing, he became visibly angry. Rather than simply fixing the situation, he had customers getting pedicures moved around while they were waiting for their nails to dry, creating unnecessary chaos throughout the salon. What made the experience even worse was that he repeatedly spoke to the staff in another language while everyone kept looking at me. I don't know exactly what was being said, but it was obvious I was the topic of conversation. I told him that it was making me feel uncomfortable, yet the staff simply smiled and continued. I felt embarrassed, singled out, and completely disrespected in front of a room full of people. The issue was never that a mistake happened. Mistakes happen. The problem was the complete lack of accountability, professionalism, and basic customer service. A simple apology would have gone a long way. Instead, I was made to feel like I had done something wrong when I had proof that I hadn't. No customer should ever be treated this way, especially in front of their child. After years of being a loyal customer, I will not be returning because of the owner's behavior. It's unfortunate, because the rest of the staff have always been wonderful. I hope the owner takes this seriously because no one deserves to be humiliated for a mistake the salon made.

The salon is under new management and it's LATINX WOMEN OWNED!!! The manicurist Laura, Dylma and Ingris are all amazing and do a wonderful job. They actually take their time with their work and provide amazing nail care for manicures and pedicures. They also have new sterilized packs for pedicures which is wonderful bc many places do NOT have them or actually sterilize their tools. They maintain the salon looking clean and looks presentable. Laura is AMAZING with gel-x design, best around the area! They also offer water, juice and have their own coffee bar to help yourself with coffee! How amazing is that!
