My Switch was totally broken -- it wouldn't turn on no matter how much I charged it (or frantically pressed the power button, lol). I replaced the battery and still was not able to turn it on, so I took it to a different electronics repair shop, and they quoted me $155 -- for a battery replacement. Because apparently, even though I had just replaced the battery, it was a "bad battery" off of Amazon. Sure.... I called Luxe Tech Repairs, and Mike was nice enough to explain to me that the issue was likely the charging chip, not the battery, and that he'd be able to fix it easily. I picked up my Switch from the other repair place and took it to Mike instead, and he was able to fix the charging chip for me on the spot in about half an hour, and I walked out of there with a working Switch. Exceptional customer experience and technical ability. Mike is an incredible business owner, he completed an internal microsoldering backlight filter repair on my iPhone. It was initially 'worked(practiced) on' by another shop, they failed to repair and made worse by replacing operational parts with other improper parts. Mike communicated with pictures the issues he found and progress on the repair, the previous shop had my phone for 2 weeks, Mike had it fixed within two days. I felt he performed more work and a higher level of service than the quoted price as he had to fix the other problems, however he maintained the initial quoted price. Second, my laptop screen developed a crack while stored on a flight. I saw he does computer services too and asked about the price, he gave me a range depending on the screen model but would have to open it to determine. I use it daily on a second display for schoolwork, he allowed me to drop it off for a bit to determine the model, and pick it up later so he could order parts and minimize my schoolwork downtown. Upon receiving the parts, he made my repair a priority, I dropped it off in the afternoon, it would have been ready that night but he was supplied a faulty screen. He made the extra effort to bring the laptop back to my residence on his day off, so I can again use it while the new parts come. TLDR; Amazing communication skills and technical knowledge, truly cares about providing a high quality service and customer experience. I'd trust him with any technology of mine and his ability to repair it properly. read more
