Updating my review because Jamie, the owner, reached out after reading my feedback and invited me…read moreback to give The NOW another try. Wow. My second experience was night and day. Jamie recommended Louis for deep tissue work, and he was exactly what I was looking for. He was professional, thorough, and clearly very experienced. He checked in throughout the session, listened to my concerns, and knew exactly where to focus. For the first time in a long time, I walked out feeling like a completely different person. The tightness and pain I had been dealing with were significantly improved, and I finally felt like I received the deep tissue treatment I had originally been looking for. I also want to thank Jamie for being such an attentive owner. She took my feedback seriously, followed up personally, and genuinely wanted to make things right. That level of customer service is rare and says a lot about how she runs her business. I've already booked my next 80-minute massage with Louis in two weeks and am happy to remain a member. In fact, after this experience, I'd even recommend The NOW to my husband. Sometimes the true measure of a business is how they respond when a customer isn't completely satisfied. Jamie and her team exceeded my expectations, and I'm grateful she encouraged me to give them another chance.

I popped my massage cherry…read more I ended up coming here on my birthday for a birthday massage. I was massaged by Jo who was extremely kind and thoughtful. I was able to try their 55 minute Swedish massage. The ambiance inside is dark, calming, and they have ocean waves as audio going. It is amazing. The set up is cute and aesthetic, they have a basket or hanger for your clothing and a bowl for your jewelry. The massage bed is heated so it is nice and warm in there. You won't get cold. They also have a sheet and a sheep skin looking top blanket that adds a small amount of weight that is enjoyable. Prior to walking in there's a small area where you can talk to your massage therapist and let them know about any preferences, ad ons or problematic areas. The only thing I did not like was that the lotion used leaves such an uncomfortable feeling on the skin. I don't know what exactly they use but I could just *feel* the layer of lotion sitting in top of my skin. I was itching to take a shower. It was not my cup of tea. Jo was amazing! I had so much joy and relaxation out of my massage. I had plenty of knots that she found in my upper shoulders but I did not choose to get the deep massage because I definitely would be crying and biting on the bed. My knots are crraaazyyyy so slowly but surely I'll be able to handle them coming out. I know home girl was like "this girl has some terrible shoulders" but everything is a-ok. She applied the appropriate amount of pressure and is receptive to feedback. The service overall was extremely friendly. They have complimentary water with citrus or regular water. Parking is in the garage or on the street. They do have a restroom.

It begins with the great vibe, There is a definite calm, radiant, energy in this place.. The second thing that captures your attention is all the coziness, it just feels warm and relaxing. Then the beauty, the manner in which everything is laid out, , the attention to detail that's paid to each treatment room. All of it absolutely makes you feel like you're walking into a cloud of comfort and serenity. I have experienced a facial, a massage and a Reiki treatment here. I would give 12 stars to all of them. My skin was glowing, my vibe was glowing, and I felt like a brand new person.. You deserve this. You will not be disappointed.

This review is long overdue…read more I originally found Peony Healings & Spa's business card through a vegan restaurant in 2022 since I was looking for vegan facials. I'm picky when it comes to skincare/ beauty treatments. I'm all about the fancy life, and Huong's facials are the best. She knows how to treat stubborn spots like no other. I went two times to get a (much more expensive!) Hydrafacial in a different spa next to my house, but they were ineffective against the one big whitehead I had. Huong got the stubborn whitehead out in one facial and with minimal discomfort. After a facial from Huong, my skin is glowing, and I get so many compliments. She even noticeably lightened up my brown spots (which hadn't noticeably changed after three Clear + Brilliant laser treatment$$$). Huong works hard through the entire facial. While she lets product sit on your skin, she stays busy massaging your arms/legs. The environment is welcoming. I love the warm bed and calming background music. Her prices are reasonable too, and she offers discounted packages of 5. Huong is a sweet person with a calming presence and voice. She's a good listener and never pushy about buying more products or services. I appreciate that she doesn't try to rush me into or out of the room. She also doesn't ask me to leave her reviews. :) My now-fiancé thoroughly enjoyed our couples massages here, especially with Leila. (I'm not that big on massages.) I've sent my mom and my little cousin for facials, and they were both super impressed - especially my little cousin who struggles with acne. Now I'm sending my sister and my aunt too - I'm sure they will also love it.

This place is absolutely gorgeous. It almost fit the complete bill for being at a high end hotel…read moreright by the water. My boyfriend and I booked a couples massage here on a sunny Saturday. Having booked the service, we were allowed to utilize the amenities located in the spa. In order to get to the spa (if you're not staying in the hotel), you had to drive into the front entrance of the hotel. This is located on the side opposite of PCH. The only real option to park is through valet service which the spa takes care of as part of the cost of the service. Our massages were booked for 2pm but we arrived around 11:30am to have lunch and enjoy the amenities. The food was pretty good and the servings were plentiful. We got a chicken Cesar wrap and the charcuterie board. You're able to eat and have the food brought over just like you were ordering room service, it was definitely room service cost and they charged for delivery to the garden. After we finished eating, we lounged in the garden to catch some sun. This is the part where I say that it almost fit the bill... the weather loved tents providing shade had mold on the canvas. Maybe it was just weather warn because it does stay outside all year round? Not sure but I'm thinking that it definitely looked like mold to me. After the sun, we enjoyed the indoor amenities of steam room, sauna and jacuzzi. For me, there a few other patrons enjoying the amenities but my boyfriend said that he pretty much had the men's locker room all to himself. My favorite part about the amenities was the shower. The shower had a rainfall shower, a handheld shower and then several steam shower heads on three of the walls. The products in the shower smelled great and I would definitely use them again. For our massages, we have the couples suite. The room was absolutely gorgeous complete with 2 massage tables, 2 sinks, a gorgeous tub, 2 separate showers this beautiful stone piece on the far wall. Massages were great and relaxing. After the massages, our massage therapists led us out to the garden again to pretty much recover from the service and it was definitely needed. Upon checking it out from our service, we perused the gift shop. There were cute clothing pieces there as well as the products that were utilized as part of some of the services. When paying, they let us know that the gratuity was already covered in the cost so that was nice. Given the cost for each service, I thought it was a generous but also fair tip. Because we finished late afternoon, we decided to walk down to the pier and venture around there. We were able to keep the car there and the hotel bellman allowed us to store our gym bags in the hotel as well, all at no extra cost. If I was looking to splurge again, I would probably come back. What would sweeten the deal is if we were able to use the hotel pool too but they said that it is only allowed during the weekdays when the pool isn't too busy.

She begins with some directional stretches on your back to get you ready for the "walk on the back." She walks with such skill, from your calves, thighs, buttocks, upper spine, forearms, etc. My two add ons were: - The walk on your back (she does it the best) it's so restorative - Back scrub (it's so refreshing, it like brings more blood flow) - Sasha really puts her heart into it, and uses strong pressure; it feels so good. Sasha has a spirit of excellence. She does not miss a single thing. She got all of my areas of concern: - Ear massage (she does this the best and the longest), it helps with my recent sudden neural hearing loss - Scalp - Neck - Shoulders - Upper spine (sometimes it cracks too, absolutely wonderful) - Buttocks - Thighs - Calves (she does my calves in a few different ways during her treatment), so good!!! Cos Calves are the body's 2nd heart, it pushes blood back into the heart! - Ending with face up, shoulder, arm, thighs and feet massages too Sasha has great concern for the client. I was too warm and asked to remove the blue blanket. She checked on me to make sure I wasn't cold. This place is consistently EXCELLENT, WONDERFUL, AND CLEAN! The massage was so good, I gave her my applause when she was done!!!! Hahahahah Such a great masseuse!

She takes the time to understand your skin, your goals, and what's actually going on instead of just going through the motions. There's never any pressure, just helpful guidance that's clearly based on what will actually work for you. The spa itself is in a super convenient spot in Long Beach and parking is easy, which makes a difference.
