Excellent Shop! I spent some time looking for a good shop to bring my wife's E350. I decided to check out MB Motors based on some on-line reviews and was very impressed with the time Bud spent explaining their diagnostic capabilities and what caused some recent issues with the engine. My experience with M B Motors and Bud was fantastic. I have not experienced the kindness and enthusiasm to get things right for you at any shop especially ones dealing with an older Mercedes Benz. I brought in my 560SEC for a significant repair and and was quoted a price significantly less then any shop I had been pricing previously. We were expecting them to bill us for the labor it took them to take the car apart, but they didn't. MB Motors is surely the best Benz service in town. For four years they kept my Mercedes serviced well and were always polite and fair and knew Mercedes inside out. I sold that one 3 years ago and bought another one. Turned out it had a unspecific odor inside the car. I fooled with it and tried a few things and was starting to figure the exit plan for the car because I couldn't stand it. Then I took it to Bud at MB and he looked at it for a couple of minutes and said he had seen it two times before and he thought it was worth a try to try an ionizer treatment on the inside (who's ever heard of that?). He and Jamie called around and found on of their contacts could do it. It is like new now! Bud is a Wizard! As long as I have a MBZ this is the only place to go. There is a good reason this shop has 5 star ratings. This is my second time using them I am very pleased with the work they performed. As the case from my previous visit, my car was properly diagnosed and I was promptly called with details on the repairs. I have owned this particular Mercedes for 10 years and do most of the work myself. I knew what the issue was with my car before I took it to them, so I can with confidence say that they are honest with the repairs they recommend, and they are done properly. If you have never seen this shop before, it is clean and orderly. The last time I visited, the bays where filled and they where working on some old SL's which was nice to see. Brought in a used MB I had just purchased to have them check it out. Bud's service sold me not only on his shop, but on MB in general. While I've taken my C230 to the local MB dealer for service once (mainly for some warranty fixes), I can't say I'd make a habit of it when I can take it to MB Motors instead. I have an 8 year old Mercedes C280 with 90,000 miles on it and the transmission started giving problems. I wouldn't consider taking it to a dealer and instead took it to one place that was highly recommended - and got an estimate for $2,200. But I didn't feel confident in them. So I brought it to M.B. Motors and was immediately impressed with their knowledge and professionalism. They pinpointed the problem very quickly and repaired it within a couple of days. My engine light came because my outside temperature gauge was off. I had gotten a few estimates prior to trying coming here all for full sensor replacement for up to $400 total. When I arrived, the staff was very friendly and even recognized me from calling the day before (by my car year and model I'm guessing) about my car trouble. After a short wait, they notified me that the sensor was pushed in slightly, causing the engine light to come on. They fixed it and only charged me $28!!! My jaw dropped! I would not recommend doing a PPI(Pre-Purchase Inspection) here. Before I purchase a used car which has a clean Carfax, it was inspected at MB Motors. MB Motors reported nothing alarming and everything looks good. However, after I purchased the car and another professional looked at the car, within minutes he can tell it was involved in an accident and something was done to cover it up. So, if you are looking for a shop to do PPI, look further. read more

I got check engine light on and had some rattling noise from the left exhaust. I found this shop online and decided to give it a try. I was somewhat suspicious about all the five-star reviews before I went there but guess what, they definitely deserve more than that! I explained to Bud, the owner, what happened to my car and the things I did. I can tell that he is a great listener and honest man. He said:" I will tell you if I don't know but I will find it out." I very much admire his honesty. In addition, he explained very thing to me in great detail and he shared his knowledge with me generously. They were able to accommodate my schedule and due to a miscommunication on my end were able to expedite my service. They did not have to do so but pitched right in to make it work for me. MB Motors truly is 5 stars. I went here based on the reviews. I basically bought a MB in crappy condition. I made a bad decision on buying it outright from someone. It started over heating right away and soon realized that there is a lot wrong with the car. So I needed someone I could trust to give me all the bad news on the car without trying to just make a buck. And Bud was able to to that for me. He took one look at it and said it was bad. Did a overall check and he said it would be around $2000-$4000. I was willing to do $2000 but he told me it wasn't worth it. He said Im better off going and trading it in. He did not even charge me. Think he knew Id put enough money into that car. This is a family owned shop. Very nice people. Office and shop are nice. I ended up trading in that MB for another one. And I will be going back to MB motors for all my MB maintenance. I highly recommend taking your MB here :) read more

As a new (used) Mercedes owner (2008 GL550) a couple of years ago, I was on a quest to find a reliable, honest, and reasonably priced service facility. Thankfully I stumbled onto MB Motors. It was the only business that I'd ever researched that had nothing but 5 star reviews...too good to be true? NOPE. It's about 25 miles from our home, so it's not the most convenient, but there's no other place that I'll even consider taking my Benz. My most recent experience will explain exactly why. We were driving from Seattle back to Goodyear last fall, and knowing that the tires were getting pretty thin, I made an appointment to have new tires installed along the way (in Oregon, no sales tax!). Everything worked exactly as planned; we were in and out of the tire shop in about an hour...just enough time to have lunch. A couple of hundred miles down the road the trouble began. The traction control warning light illuminated...what now? After looking through the manual we finally figured out how to deal with (disable) it; but it was persistent, illuminating almost every time we stopped for a break. I called a Mercedes dealer and was told that it was safe to drive, just not in "slippery" conditions. OK, fine, we won't go skiing. A couple of days after our return to the Phoenix area we found ourselves running some errands in the general neighborhood of MB Motors, so I decided to stop in and make an appointment to get this annoying problem taken care of. The good folks at MB jumped right in trying to figure out what was causing this to happen...thinking and hoping (like I was) that it was something simple. After about an hour of testing, tinkering with, and driving it (of course the darn light wouldn't come on with them looking!), they announced "GOT IT!" Well folks, it turns out that the tire shop had inadvertently installed the correct size tires on one side of the car, and a slightly different size on the other side, which caused the traction control computer to warn us of a stability problem. As you already know if you're an MB customer, they refused to charge me for their diagnosis, and even called the nearest tire store (same national chain) to explain the problem and get the ball rolling for replacement of the two incorrect tires. As an aside, I can't help but wonder if I'd ever have figured out that the tires were different sizes if the car wasn't so darn smart...smarter than me obviously. Wow. I haven't actually ever been serviced here, but I will be. Our Benz stopped working and was diagnosed elsewhere (where it was towed) as needing a new supercharger. Desperately hoping for another (read: different) opinion, I called asking for diagnosis over phone. He was so nice, while he told me what I didn't want to hear (it did need to be replaced), told me he was sorry for such a bummer problem, told me to remember the car has otherwise been good to me. I have a 91 560 SEC that has never run all that well since the day I bought it 10 years ago.I took it to Bud after looking at all the incredible reviews on his work. I needed the timing chain replaced and turns out the head gasket as a little the worse for wear so that was getting fixed also.I mentioned to Bud that the engine was always running rough and he said he would look into that also. I took my S550 in for just an oil change or B service yesterday. I decided to go there because of the comments on here. I called and asked how much both of those services cost. She told me, I thought they might have been a little high, but they could get me in later that day so I made the appointment. A couple of people wrote how they liked the service, but really liked the low prices compared to the dealership. Out of curiosity, I called Mercedes and asked the same question, they are less for both, just the oil change and B service. I told, who I think was the owner and he said, that's why they don't let him quote prices, it's not the 70's anymore. I let them do the job, and when it was done, I was informed my oil cap was broken so they replaced it. They charged me for it, but didn't show it to me. Also, when I told the daughter about my call to the Mercedes garage, she said they must have just lowered their prices to be more competitive and charged me the full amount. I don't know if they screwed me on the oil cap, have to assume not, but rest assured I did not receive service worth 5 stars! read more
