First, let me preface this review with I LOVE a great burger. What's there not to love (when they're made right): Fresh, doughy, and airy bun, juicy, flavorful, and delicious burger, and ooey gooey, rich cheese, makes for one delicious burger. Ok, my description of a delectable burger is complete, but that being said, I've visited most of M Shack's locations. This one in Nocatee was a convenient location for my family, so we opted to stop here for dinner. I normally get my regular: Asian burger, no slaw, extra sauce on the side. Am I a creature of habit at some establishments? You bet. So everyone in my party got something different: Nugget got a hotdog and fries, with a fancy water (i.e. sparkling water, because he's fancy), my sister got a sammie: BLT grilled cheese, my mom got an M Burger, and my dad being petite man he is (seriously, he is) got two burgers: Two M Burgers, and we also got a large order of fries to share. The girl at the counter taking our order was SUPER friendly and just all around lovely. She smiled and was patient, because folks, sometimes when my family is around it can be a bit of a circus with all of us ordering (nothing against people who like circuses). We can be a bit disorganized and change orders mid-sentence. She did a great job keeping track of everyone's order and was super patient. Kudos to her! We all got our drinks and opted to sit outside. In less than ten minutes are order was out. It wasn't super busy at this location. Most people were sitting outside and by most, I think there were two or three tables of people seated outside. Our meals came out and everything was right. The one negative comment I have about the whole experience was the fries were not warm. They were actually lukewarm, which is a real bummer. If you're a burger place, you really need to deliver on two things: 1. burgers 2. fries. My burger was perfectly cooked. Juicy and super flavorful. I also got two extra sides of the sauce I love so much, so definite bonus points. When the server came back to check on us, we mentioned the fries were pretty cold. He said he'd go to the back and get us some fresh ones. He delivered on that. About 5-7 minutes later, we got super piping hot fries. Nuggest LOVED his hotdog. He gobbled it all up, minus the bun. Maybe this week in toddler-hood he's on the Adkin's diet? Who knows, I'm just happy he ate something besides a slice of cheese and a yogurt. He also managed to eat a majority of his fries. Everyone else in my party seemed to enjoy their meals, so that's good to hear. We visited this M Shack location after a long day of baseball and were pleasantly surprised to find it so close and convenient to the Davis Park fields! The food was excellent, service was incredibly prompt & friendly, and even though they did get one of our orders incorrect....they immediately corrected it to ensure that we were 100% satisfied! Although the inside was very clean & had a cool vibe, we chose to dine on the outside patio which was perfect for our party of 6. We look forward to visiting M Shack on our next trip to Nocatee! 10/10 recommend! read more

My hubs and I love burgers in general so no Surprise to us that we both wanted a burger as our first "meal out since quarantine". It appears M Shack has a well run ship as far as the sanitization of their place. They have a glass wall between the order placement area and the patrons. Our table was just cleaned so we felt good about that too. We sat over 10' away from the next family and there were still plenty of patio tables available. I made my own burger with jalapeño, onion, lettuce, and tomato and boy was it great!! It was cooked properly at Medium temp! Absolutely loved it! Hubs also made his own with too many veggies to type, a fried egg, and jalapeños (which always add a quick spice). It was so juicy and also cooked correctly! We had to get the table fries to add to the dinner and they were crispy greatness, per usual! It was a perfect dinner out! read more

Great venue. We sat outside at the bar. Greeted and hosted by Anastasia with a welcoming smile. She had a great personality, very professional and knowledgeable about their menu. Because we weren't sure what we wanted, she offered us suggestions. We had a couple of cold draft beers and a bacon cheeseburger with onion rings. Living in Nocatee we're really spoiled with all the food around us from Ponte Vedra Beach to St Augustine plus all the choices in Jacksonville proper. I remember trying M Shack at the St John's Town Center and not being impressed, so when we moved to Nocatee almost a year and a half ago we were hesitant to visit this location literally in our front yard (just a golf cart ride away). I'm so glad we finally did visit. Compared to our previous experience (in St John's Town Center/Jax), the staff at Nocatee is much more inviting and helpful if you you're not familiar with the menu. Lastly, for some reason the food preparation seems much different than i remember as well. 1. the burgers were much thicker 2. the sauces were much more liberal 3. the full bar seems to be more diverse All this, and the fact that you can drive up in your golf cart and sit right outside on the patio is a true plus during the summer - especially through COVID-19 social distancing, etc. The entire outdoor patio section is open for dinning. Our family eats at M Shack in Nocatee almost every week. It has become a staple for us. All of the burgers are delicious, but the pulled pork cheddar melt will make you slap yo mamma. I mean, don't literally smack ya mamma. It's just a really good sandwich! The onion rings and sweet potato tots are the perfect sides. If you're feeling really naughty, try the taco fries and a milkshake. You're welcome. Just be prepared to roll yourself outta there! M Shack - Disgusting grease - American Near Me - Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida

The food at any M-Shack has always been good, in my experience, but this particular location provided the worst service experience I've ever had. For context, I'm typically an overly forgiving guest given that I've worked in the service industry for years - it really takes a lot for me to leave a bad review. However, after a couple of small issues on our first two visits to this location, my boyfriend and I gave it another chance with a third visit and ordered one of the alcoholic shakes from the bar. We were dining in at a table, so I walked up to the bar to order the drink separately from our meal. Although I was directly in front of him, I had to wait a solid 5 minutes for the bartender to even make eye contact with me, as he was too busy chatting with the only other guest in the joint. When he finally acknowledged my existence, I was polite, and yet he acted irritated that I was pulling him away from his conversation. He never spoke to me but continued talking around me to the other guest while he made the shake. When the bartender poured the shake into the glass, it overflowed down the sides. Rather than wiping it off, he wiped his hands on his apron and plonked the drink down on the bar in front of me in a pool of sticky milkshake, then immediately went back to chatting with his regular without ever speaking to me. So much of it had spilled onto the sides and base of the glass that I went through a ridiculous amount of napkins just to wipe it down enough to carry it to my table without trailing milkshake everywhere. The bartender never even looked up or offered to pour it into another glass, let alone clean up his mess. Even after wiping it down, the glass was incredibly sticky and we both had to wash our hands multiple times after touching it. A sticky glass is not the end of the world, but to me it showed a complete disregard for your guests' experience. This bartender also did not have his hair tied up, which is a definite health code violation (and given his attitude and the fact he didn't even bother to wash all that milkshake residue off his hands, probably one of many). I haven't eaten at M-Shack since; despite the fact I've had a good track record with the food, this incident completely turned me off. No one wants to frequent a restaurant whose staff not only treats them as an annoyance but also denies them basic courtesy in their service. read more

Have been to M Shack 3 times over the past year. The first time, Burger and Fries were just OK. For the price, the burger was small and the fries were skimpy. Nothing special. The second time I went, I sat at the bar and ordered a beer, burger, and fries. It took 30 minutes for the food to come out. It was early afternoon about 4:00 and no more than 4 customers were in the whole restaurant. The bread was cold, looked, and tasted like they just pulled it out of the bread wrapper and through a small patty on it. The bread was cold and stale. The third time, I ordered online for pick up. Ordered a cheeseburger and sweet potato fries. The cheeseburger was OK, nothing special. The sweet potato fries were floating in grease at the bottom of the container. They were greasy and overcooked. This was my last trip. Not sure they will survive. read more

So I know these are rough times during quarantine but, we decided to order takeout from M Shack. Only our second time visiting, the first was alright, maybe a 3 star rating. I ordered via the MShack app and paid up front, left a nice tip, and when we got home opened up the food my wife found hair in her burger, I ordered a double & only received a single, the fries could have tasted as though you dumped them in a tub of salt; not quite the experience we had expected from a simple takeout order. Ordered online via Chownow. Checked bag before leaving and saw there was an extra burger. My husband and I both verified number of burgers before placing order and was three. Not sure what happened in the app but wasn't offered any immediate help when telling employee. Decided to see if could get assistance from Chownow, unfortunately they just have you call the restaurant. Was placed on hold for a manager Charlie. He didn't come to the phone but instead told the employee we left with the burger so couldn't/wouldn't do anything. To add insult, we opened the burger after the unproductive phone call and there was not one BUT two hairs on the cheeseburger. Won't be back to this location due to poor quality/contaminated food and lack of responsiveness from restaurant management. This place has gone down hill. Long gone are the days where this was the best burger in town. The first M-Shack was amazing. Expansion has turned this into a watered down fast food restaurant at best. My chicken sandwich was maybe a quarter inch thick, had three tiny jalapeño slices, fries were cold, and my daughter's bacon cheeseburger and one shrunken peace of bacon on it. I generally like M Shack's and this one is no different. The food is good. Portions are a little small but very tasty. The fries come out nice and hot. A large is big enough to share with several people. Prices can run a bit high. This location is a bit smaller than some of the others (Town Center and Five Points), but that's probably more to do with the amount of traffic those locations get. Overall a good dinner. I probably wouldn't go out of my way for it, but convenient if you are in the Nocatee area. read more
