It was a nice day until I got 3rd degree burns all over my body at the beach, so we figured to go to a bar and grill to cool off and watch St John's make me lose money. We were seated almost immediately to where we met with a beast of a waiter. His name was Ricky and you could tell he knows for sure what he's doing. With his funny jokes and quick responses he more felt like a homie than our waiter. I was feeling different so I ordered a shrimp platter and had a quesadilla app (which the ogre took part of from me). She's so fat too it's actually crazy, I mean it's all "food food food" with this girl. Anyways everyone got boneless wings and again I got something different.. I'm a leader not a follower. We stopped by for appetizers and drinks after golf. The restaurant was packed with football fans watching the multitude of big screen TVs. The game volume was fairly loud but expected for a sports bar. We opted for the egg rolls. The menu states the filling is "chef's choice". Today's choice seemed to be a cheeseburger filling. They two egg rolls cut diagonally were hot, cheesy, and loaded with ground beef. They were served on a bed of spring mix and ranch dressing on the side. Service was a bit slow today. Nice local bar & grill. Got a table for 7 right away on a Saturday evening. Enjoyable place for watching sports and has a large draft list. My husband has raved for years about their Philly cheesesteak- he orders it every time and loves it! I had the California wrap (guac on the side). It was cooked well. I always enjoy their wraps. For apps, we got the egg rolls on special, chips & queso, and pork rinds. The group raved about the pork rinds- I tried one but they just aren't my thing. Queso was a 7/10. Egg rolls were decent- they rotate the type from day to day. My side salad was good size, and I really enjoyed the house vinaigrette dressing. Such a fun bar/restaurant! We got there about 5pm on Thursday and within 30 mins they were packed!! I love seeing local restaurants full with patrons! So clearly the food is good! I love everything we tried! The buffalo dip and huge chunks of chicken and I don't really like blue cheese but I couldn't stop eating that dip! The jalapeno poppers were so good! I loved the breading and the filling in it! I love the hand cut fries a the boneless wings too! But the star was the fried Oreos with ice cream! Beyond tasty! Can't wait to come back and try more!! We've visited Taps 3x since relocating to the area and every visit has been superb. Excellent service, laid back atmosphere, and a wide variety of great food items on their menu. I've always considered taps to be the neighborhood bar where people know your name but after this visit, it's a place where you go to get fine food. I've seen some of the good food reviews and the pictures but when I got there, I saw the real thing. I had this Bangin' shrimp and it was delicious. I sat next to some people at the bar and they informed me how great all the food was there as I looked at the delicious food being served out around me. So this is a place I'd definitely have to come back and try it some more of the menu soon. read more

My wife's fish sandwich was on the smaller side but an appropriate portion for lunch. I had the pulled pork sandwich, which stood out thanks to an excellent barbecue sauce selection. The ability to swap fries for spinach (for a small upcharge) was a welcome option, as I wouldn't have eaten the fries. Pricing was reasonable, with lunch coming in under $20 per person, including a drink. Given the quality of service, solid food, and fair pricing, I'd rate Taps Bar and Grill 4 out of 5 stars. We both had the blackened fish tacos and they were really good. The happy hour specials on drinks was just ok, not as good as their other location, South Kitchen in Nocatee. Always a great experience at Taps! My favorite item on the menu is their house salad with blacked chicken and/or shrimp. OMG. NO ONE makes a salad like Taps! If youre not into salads, they have a wide variety of food and service is efficient and friendly! I believe they have over 40 different beers on tap. Was really disappointed after my recent visit for lunch. I ordered a Reuben sandwich which included fries. I've had numerous Reubens at other restaurants, including Taps. However, this one was not great. The meat was really fatty and I was only able to eat a portion of the sandwich. Every bite I was stretching the meat to break the fat apart. The fries that came with the sandwich were overcooked and quite dark unlike the picture on the website. They did a redo on the fries for me, but these were a bit oily and undercooked. I normally don't complain about food at restaurants because many times it's the luck of the draw. This one was a swing and a miss for me. read more

Wish we'd come here the first night because we would have been back. Server recommended the fish and chips and both parts of the meal were serious contenders for the best I've ever had. I had passed by this restaurant many times because it is in the same shopping center as my bank but I had never tried it until today for lunch. The outside of the restaurant is not the most inviting because it is very dark with the railings and the outdoor furniture, as well as the tinted windows. We weren't even sure it was open. The interior looked much better. It seemed to be more popular as a bar than a restaurant as more people chose to sit at the bar. Service was quick from our waitress with menus and drinks. The menu is rather extensive, with appetizers, soups, salads, wings, burgers, sandwiches, and entrees. I opted for the fried fish sandwich and it came with hand cut fries. The fries were really good and rather plentiful. The fish sandwich was not the most plentiful fried fish sandwich I have had in my life, and the tartar sauce was also sparse. We have visited some of our usual locations because of the price and I've already completed reviews for those joints. I wanted to write a review for this place. It was a new stop for us because it's near my nieces house. The food may my wife very sicks. We figured out why. She is allergic to chicken and the oil used for cooking the fish is the same as what is used to cook the chicken. If you have similar allergies be aware. The service was good. They waitress was quick to return with drinks and the food came out quick as well. The ambiance was nice. I like the tap handles and the Untapd beer screen menu is nice; I'm a big Untapd fan. The food was decent. I had a burger and it was good. The French fries were cooked in old oil; they were nasty. I also had some jalapeño poppers and those were meh at best. We all shared a beet salad and that was decent, but I've had better. Would I go back, yes. Would my wife go back, no. This was a regular spot for us when they first opened many years ago. I'm not sure what happened - maybe a change of ownership - but they lost us as regulars when food and service quality declined. The opportunity came up for a quick lunch in the area so we decided to check them out after not visiting for I'm guessing about 5 years. The atmosphere was the same as was the layout. While the place was not that busy given a late lunch on a Monday, service was solid. Fish and chips used to be a favorite here and its decline was was one of main reasons I stopped being a patron. I had decided on a burger to keep things safe but asked the waiter his opinion on the fish. He stated it was their top seller so called and audible and took a chance. I was not disappointed as the fish was substantial and perfectly battered and prepared. I wasn't a big fan of the cole slaw but it wasn't a show stopper. I visited Taps by chance, I happened to be in the area and had a 15 minute wait, and to my surprise they were open! These days finding an open patio to enjoy a beverage is exciting, to say the least. The hostess and waitress were very pleasant and were wearing gloves at all times. I decided to seat outside, ordered a beer and queso... you know when visiting on taco Tuesday one must honor the day, since I was not quite hungry for a full blown taco order, queso it's the next best thing. Queso came out quickly and it was yummy, creamy and a tad bit spicy, with multicolor chips what else can you ask for. I want to preface this with I was not expecting much of the food based off the sports bar decor. I was expecting mediocre food with a focus on drinks. We ate here for lunch. I ordered the Buffalo chicken wrap with mango habanero. I also had the Gouda cheese sticks. The wrap was amazing. It was full of chicken and everything was fresh. I was pleasantly surprised.
