My favorite su bings in the Bay thus far
    Cindy C.

I'm obsessed with their mochi salted egg pork floss su bings (pastries) with different fillings. The only place I've found that does it this way. 85 degrees has something slightly similar during mooncake festival but nothing as good as this! Inside the Marina super market. D

I really wanted to like their pastries at almost $5 each but they were just ok. I got the taro pastry, Q mochi, wedding sesame pastry, and red bean mochi pastry. I just wasn't a huge fan of their outside layers even if the inside was good. The sweet and salty of the egg yolk, pork floss, res bean, and mochi if the Q mochi was a little strange for me. Not horrible, not great. The inside of the taro was good but the outside almost felt doughy. The croissant was buttery, soft, and delicious. It wasn't the crispy, flake everywhere croissant, so if you're looking for that, this isn't it. It was still quite tasty! We also got their wheat sandwich bread which was normal and delicious. They made for excellent sandwiches!

I was looking for the best red bean salted egg pastry and went to: 1) M.Y. Bakery $3.85 2) Sheng Kee Bakery $3.25 Both places accept credit card only at minimum purchase of $10. M.Y. Bakery is the clear winner without doubt. Nice dough and the filling was not too overwhelming. I would certainly go for the deal buying 5 and get one free. I give it -1 star due to the really high price and inflexibly payment options. Sheng kee on the other hand was disappointing. Way to heavy, buttery mushy almost. Didn't like it. Update: red bean Mochi was better than the coconut one with salted egg. Best is still the normal salted egg with red bean

Went there about an hour before closing and the bakery pretty much had almost sold their buns. A few options left. Price is reasonable and for the buns, there is a special for buy 4 get 1 free. Besides buns, there are also other varieties of bakeries available such as mocha cake or cake rolls. Minimum $10 if using credit card.

This is my second time ordering a custom made cake from them and they are always helpful and excellent in delivering expecations. I recently worked with Lydia to work on our custom needs and she was really patient and explained us the options which are available due to current covid-19 pandamic restrictions. It all worked out in the end and everyone loved the cake asking for references is a best complement in my mind. A must to try out if you're short on time from your event.

All the sudden I found mold on the bread. This piece is the middle of the loaf.

Found Izumi…read moreCakes on Yelp and was bummed at first because the soonest online reservation for a cake would be two days later. Husband called them around 11am and they said they were in the middle of making their strawberry cakes so they could add our order in for a same day pickup at 4pm. Pickup went well and the cake was so cute and it tasted great! Like the Chinese bakery strawberry cream cake with a moist sponge cake; not too sweet, just right. Might sound basic but it was done very well. Would 100% recommend. I don't know prices for cakes nowadays but I didn't feel bad paying about $60 for a cute and tasty cake (6", strawberry cream cake). I wouldn't bank on same day pickups, I might've just been very lucky they were in the middle of making their cakes but it wouldn't hurt to try calling early in the day if you're in a pinch for a solid cake. I'm very thankful for their service!

This spot is takeout-only, so don't plan on stopping by for long. Finding parking isn't difficult…read morebut might take a minute on busy days, as it shares a parking lot with the rest of a popular plaza. The store itself is easy to find as well, with a clear label outside. Walking in, it looks half-closed--their cakes are all stored in a large refrigerator, with nothing in the case on the counter. There is a sign proclaiming "takeout only" in slight disarray, and the seating is pushed to the side. That said, the service is friendly and the employees are quick to help you and show you what they have in stock for takeout. I ordered the 4" Berry Berry Light Cake for a birthday, and they were able to write a birthday message on the cake board, which I really appreciated. The cake also tasted very light and the sweetness was subtle, which I really enjoyed. The berry flavor in the sponge was a little too subtle, though. My main concern is that the cake does not fully resemble the picture they advertised online. It is missing the freeze-dried berries on top, and the berry glaze did not reach as far down the cake as was shown in the photo. Because the berry glaze is the main source of the berry flavor, this was a little disappointing. Also, the cake was not finished when I came to pick up the cake (and I was ~5 minutes late). I'm uncertain if this is for freshness or if there is another reason. Overall, I like the spot for the fresh and light cake. It's pleasantly unique compared to your standard sheet cake, and everything is rather cute. However, it may be a better idea to buy the cakes in-person to be 100% sure of what it will look like, though daily stock is definitely more limited than if you place an order online. I hope they reopen their indoor seating soon.

It was MORE CROISSANT than waffle, whereas i feel like it's more common to get the opposite. It was buttery and flakey despite holding the shape and crispyness of a waffle. The cream they pair it with is the same cream for drinks, not like chantilly cream or something. I didnt enjoy the durian cream with the croffle, but it might be better with the other creams. I ended up pouring the durian cream into the roasted rice milk tea and it was *chefs kiss* Roasted rice milk tea 5/5 : i got less ice and 50% sweet and the roasted scent was so fragrant still. It was very refreshing yet had the delicious taste of browned rice grains. I added durian cream from my croffle and it worked out really well. Nothing really stands out, but they get the job done if you're just looking for a quick drink. The biggest downside is the location and overall atmosphere. The shop shares a space with a Chevron gas station, and it doesn't have its own restroom. When I asked, I was told to use the Chevron bathroom, which felt unusual for a tea shop. The café also isn't the most comfortable place to hang out. I stopped by during a heat wave once and decided to stay for a bit, but it was still hot inside. I don't think the A/C was running, so I ended up leaving sooner than I planned. I could see myself grabbing a drink to go if I were already stopping for gas or just happened to be driving by. But personally, I'd rather drive a few minutes down the street to Barber Lane, where there are several other tea shops with better drinks and a more comfortable atmosphere. I can also do my grocery shopping while I'm there, so it's a much more convenient stop overall.

For those of you don't know, they are affiliated with Rice Valley (稻香村), a major rice noodle producer in the Bay Area. My family and I were shopping in the area on 12/18/2025 and we decided to stop by here to pick up some rice noodles. Unbeknownst to us, they had added a small full-service pho operation to their space. Naturally, we were intrigued. After learning from the attendants that there's a 50% off promotion on everything (pho and baked goods), we decided to give their pho a try. Their menu featured a limited selection of appetizers, salads, pho/rice dishes, and sandwiches. We ordered a Beef Pho Combo ($12), a Bún Bò Huế Combo ($14), and an à la carte beef pho ($9). The combos came with a half order of appetizer and a drink. My brother and I both chose XLB as our appetizers. They were straight out from the freezer and tasted alright. The milk tea that came with the meal was pretty decent. The BBH had a couple pieces of pig trotter, as well as an ample amount of sliced beef, sliced shank, and chả lụa (steamed pork roll). The only thing missing was the blood cake. The broth was mild, and had a decent taste despite the absence of MSG. The round rice noodles weren't overcooked and had the right texture. The beef pho came with a good amount of fresh rice noodles, sliced beef, sliced shank, tripe, and beef balls. My brother and mom were both pleased with the taste. The attendant who helped us was friendly and helpful. The total, with tax and tip, was about $43. The value was absolutely fantastic, and the food was actually pretty decent. If you are looking for a good deal for pho, come check this bakery out. Better do it fast because I have no idea when the promotion will end. 4 stars.

What a refreshing treat on a hot day!…read more The moment we walked into Melo Melo, we noticed how thoughtfully they designed the space. The bright interior felt clean, elegant, and inviting. The displays turned the desserts into artwork, with rows of colorful jars showcased both in refrigerated cases and along the walls. The hanging greenery, soft lighting, marble tables, and pink accents created a beautiful atmosphere that felt modern, fresh, and Instagram-worthy without feeling overdone. As much as we loved the décor, the dessert completely stole the show. We ordered one of their signature coconut desserts, and it arrived quickly by friendly staff. Every spoonful felt cool, creamy, and incredibly satisfying. The texture reminded me of a silky custard crossed with a delicate tofu pudding, but lighter and more refreshing. The coconut flavor came through beautifully without tasting heavy or overly sweet. What impressed me most was how refreshing the dessert felt. The cold, creamy texture practically melted in my mouth and provided the perfect escape from the heat outside. On a warm afternoon, it hit the spot better than ice cream because it felt indulgent while still tasting light and clean. The quality stood out immediately. Melo Melo clearly focuses on fresh ingredients and careful preparation. Every bite tasted smooth, balanced, and thoughtfully crafted. Between the stunning presentation, spotless interior, and absolutely delicious dessert, this place delivered an experience rather than just a sweet treat. If you're looking for something unique, cooling, and genuinely memorable, Melo Melo deserves a visit. We'll definitely be back to try more flavors.

All of them were a bit wet and soggy looking but no need to be worried. They still tasted good. The coffee latte was the most flavorful and the topping was jello like over the traditional coconut steamed pudding.
