I just changed my hair agian. I was crying about my eyebrows in front of my sweet husband. I couldn't get any help at another store in the mall I had given up. So today my sweetie stopped by a Mac (hello why I married him) asked about a good recommendation for my eyebrow game . Jose helped him!!! He gave my poor inept husband help. No he only showed my picture to jose. I seriously want to hug jose. My eyebrows are now back #onfleek. I seriously would have never thought of the color jose did. I just had to share this with Yelp. My experience is different for every MAC cosmetics store. Sometimes, you'll get some snotty workers like those who work at the Newpark Mall. However, this is not the case here at all. I think all of these workers are so nice and helpful. They really take the time to help you out. Their facility is clean..I come here when it first opens in the morning and find their cosmetics are surface-scraped and cleansed. I don't really have anything negative to say about this place. I think it's still confusing sometimes on where to find this store...they've moved so much in this mall! Came in specifically for a particular shade and not only did I not get anything I left dismayed . The customer service was lacking and rude . There where three of them two female and one male and customer wise only two people me and and a couple . Came here the Saturday after Christmas so it was pretty busy. I was looking for a contouring set and was helped by Maria. Maria was sooo sweet and extremely helpful. She got all the products I needed, explained what they did, and showed me how to use them. This is my favorite mac store! I live in the area, but have visited other mac stores who have failed to help me find a product. I always have a great experience here because the employees are so friendly and smiling all the time. So far, I haven't gotten the feeling that they're too tired or lazy to help me. I know some complain about walking in with no makeup and have bad experiences, however that has never happened to me. They are so helpful even when they are helping multiple clients. The only complaint that I have is they tend to be a little pushy when it comes to sales. It's not a bad thing, I understand how it is to be in retail! I just always buy more than I expected! They really set the trend.. I always walk in and end up asking what they used and, of course, I buy it! I went in on a Tuesday afternoon to pick up some eyeshadows. I was feeling bored with the selection that I had. A female employee greeted me and I explained to her what I was looking for. She set some neutral browns in front of me, gave me a brush and let me have at it. Nice enough, but when Kenneth came over is when the fun started. I also told him what I was looking for, and he picked some colors out for me that I would've never picked out for myself, and they looked amazing! He then picked out some foundation, powder, blush, etc. for me. He ended up doing my full-face, just as if I had made an appointment. Long story short, Kenneth is super curteous, always ready to share tips, stories, and his incredible knowledge of the industry. What a doll. So my sister and I came to the mall to do some shopping and she had one of the worst customer service ever. She was ignored not once but four times. One of the employees even came up to her saw her face saw that She wasn't wearing makeup and said "oh never mind" and walked away. I came to Mac for them to do my make up for my boyfriends Ball. I made an appointment ahead of time, which then gives you a $60 flat rate. My appointment was made for 12:00. I checked in at 11:50 and was waiting up until 12:20 to be seated into a chair. The lady who was helping me (I did not get her name) asked me what time I needed to be out, I told her my hair appointment was at 2:00. She did not fully start on my make up until 12:40 (keep in mind my appointment was made for 12:00 and I checked in at 11:40.) as she continued to apply my make up, she was constantly going back and forward to the cash register, phone, and back to me. It seemed like she was multitasking a bunch of jobs while assisting me. She would come back apologizing that she was very busy but she'd get me out in time for my hair appointment. To get to the point, she was not done until 1:50 (clearly late for my hair appointment) At one point she did even admit "usually I am faster at make up, it does not take me an hour to do it I swear!" If she had not been multitasking she probably would have finished me right away. The time management was not too great, but the make up itself was good. MY ADVICE is to schedule your appointment at a time way earlier/or after your other appointments. If you book ahead of time it's a $60 fee (you get free mascara) but you pay for the lashes you use which they do not inform you (mine were about $17). If you do a walk in then you must make a purchase of at least $60. Makeup=Good Time management= not so good read more

Alright, let me first say that I am a Mac Pro. I've been shopping with Mac for YEARS. I've used this store once or twice before and it has been alright. If you know exactly what you want, go in and get it yourself, it's pretty much fine. I went in here with one of my clients today. She had an event that she wanted to get some things for, so I thought, ok! This'll be fun! Ugh famous last words. Let me add that it was TUESDAY and EARLY AFTERNOON. So it was not a thing of there being a lot of people. My client and I went in. I said I wanted a BB cream, some eyebrow options...basically I had things handled, I just needed to know what color my client would be. I guess I should have just done it myself. Anyways, I showed my client the paint pots, the pigments, we looked at eyeshadows. We had made a FAT LIST of stuff she wanted. Like it was crazy. This lady was going to drop some serious money getting makeup here. So I guess Mac turned out to be the loser on this one. Anyways the girl that was "helping" us kept on saying, "I'm just grabbing a couple more things." And then helping people that would wander into the store. So we grabbed someone else. And she said she was busy working the register. BUT THERE WAS NOBODY IN THE FREAKING STORE! So after about 45 minutes of waiting on nothing, my client convinced me that these girls, for some reason, were not going to help us. And we left. Bare Minerals got all her money today. This really pisses me off, number one because I'm a pro and I myself have spent so much time and money at this store. I love Mac and feel like it's a great makeup brand. When stuff like this happens, it makes both me as an indirect rep for Mac look bad, but it makes Mac look very bad too. It also makes me mad that I told someone about this and they said, "Oh yeah I get treated like crap everytime I go into Mac." Is this seriously becoming a reputation that Mac wants to have? They hire shitty people that won't even help you because they're too stupid or too stuck up? Get it together Mac, some of us take this serious. read more

The people that work at this Mac store all have fantastic customer service !!! I like how I walk in and they all greet me! I don't mean just one employee but all of them were so nice! You can tell they enjoy working there! they all knew I had an appointment and I was running late. The first time I went to this store was about a month before my wedding (2010). My sister had been buying their product for years and I decided it was time to bite the bullet and spend some money on nice stuff for my wedding. I am SO happy I did. The girl that helped me was extremely friendly and knowledgeable she did my whole face and explained exactly how to do it. The colors she gave me were amazing and I couldn't have been happier with the way it looked. I was there with my best friend and the girl was chatting with her as well and really made us feel welcome. I loved it because it was so much different from the experience that I had with the girls from the Nordstrom counter of MAC who are incredibly rude. Now, the only makeup I buy is from here and although I don't ever see the girl who helped me that day the one who always helps me now is MATTHEW. He is AWESOME!!! Whenever I go in looking for a little something he always know just what will work for me. Love it!!! Love him!!! Love this store!!! I was having a bad self image day and I went into Mac to try and see if playing with make up would make me feel better. Then I am greeted by a Mac Artist named Kenny and everything changed from there. He made me feel like a million bucks! He had such a great personality and really taught me some great make up tips for those gloomy days as well as those times when I really want to spice it up! I just want to start with my love and passion for MAC cosmetics. Since the age of 14 I have been obsessed with MAC. I've spent countless dollars on these cosmetics. This company's brand is one I look up to! Now let me tell you why I'm giving this MAC a one star...... I have been a usual at this location up until last year. I don't recognize any of the new employees but every time I'm in this store I get shoved off by a sales person, or ignored, or a rare snotty pretentious sales person! Every time it get more and more disappointing to shop here. I am a loyal MACer and it makes me so sad to not be able to share my time with makeup artist who appreciate my business. I've been to MAC stores all across West and this is the only one I'll probably never waste my hard earned money in. On another note the Mac counter in Nordstrom's is ! Came in for a 30 minute complementary application and Brittany took her time, gave me a very nice look and recommended my new favorite matte liquid lipstick! Im updating my review on here because I made an appt to get my makeup applied, and Jorge was the most accommodating, very knowledgeable, and most patient make up artist. I was very picky, and even if he didn't show it, he didn't seem impatient or aggravated with me. He did my makeup PERFECT! I got so many compliments once I left the store. Like "wow your eyes look so amazing" and "omg! i love your make up!" He made my eyes somewhat of a smoky look---but he put alot of depth in it. Man he did an amazing job..plus he was so much fun to just chit chat with and giggle with. I'd just go back there to buy more make up and hang out with him. LOL. I never liked mac makeup til he introduced some great products to me. It's less expensive than what I wear now, Lancome. I may have a bag full of both products! Good job Jorge!!! read more

I recently had the opportunity to be Mac'd over and it was a blast!!! Mac has done a great job of turning their reputation around and being in the industry that is much appreciated. I am always greeted with a smile and at the least if all the artist are busy they let me know they will be with me shortly and because I know the world doesn't revolve around me I patiently wait!! Gilda was my girl and she did a great job. She gave me her undivided attention taking my request into consideration while still showing her artistic ability and I could tell she was truly passionate about making me feel beautiful. Love this store, however sometimes you're better off buying your MAC items from Nordstrom because there's less of a wait. This store can get very busy and sometimes the associates can't tell who has been waiting the longest because of the layout. We do buy from here though for my daughters, but we also buy MAC at Nordstrom which is always a great experience. read more

So I don't do a lot of reviews but I had to this time. I have been doing a full face for only a couple of years now and I am still learning. I'm not familiar with all the brushes and all the many products so I tend to stick to what I'm familiar with until I'm ready to try something else. Anyway, I came into this MAC Store yesterday and there was no customers in there at the time when I entered. There were two people behind the counter talking, a man and a woman, and no one greeted me. They looked over at me and then continued their conversation, and then went into the back of the store, and now there were no employees in sight for a few minutes. The woman finally came out from the back and she walked right by me and went to and began looking in a drawer. I'm not sure what for, but she still had not spoken to me. I had already been looking for some eye shadow primer and hadn't found it, so I asked her if she could help me find it, and she took me to the paint pots and said I could just use that. I told her I had one already but I didn't use it as primer. She then walked off and went back to what she had been looking at before I approached her. I was really feeling a certain type of way at this point and was ready to leave the store, but then I remembered I needed to replace my mascara that I was running out of anyway. So I'm still looking in the store to find it because I am not familiar with this location, and then another young woman came out from the back and she immediately asked me if I was finding everything alright. I told her I needed to get some mascara and I told her which one, plus I wanted another item as well. We chit chatted for a bit and she even complimented me on my makeup that I currently had on which was the Patrick Starr collection. As I was checking out I saw another product that I may have been interested in and she commented on it how she loves it, it works great and so I bought that too. Thank you Chanelle H. for your great customer service. I only came in for one item and left with with multiple. To the other woman, it is not nice, and poor business practices to make someone feel ignored like that, and that they have to chase you for help. If you were too busy, you could have acknowledged me and got someone to help me, and not just ignore and brush me off the way you did. Because Chanelle helped me, I gave this store a 2-star rating instead of the 1-star I was going to give it. Chanelle gets a 4-star. I shop at MAC all the time close to my home and am treated so well. I love the products and I tell people all the time about it. It just bums me out when a store I love to frequent has shitty employees. read more

Stopped in after work to pick up a few things but I needed to re match foundation. Make up artist Donna was amazing! She took her time and addressed my questions. Even helped me find a red lipstick to try out. I will be back to pick up the red shade. Then when she found out I was heading to Maui this summer she gave me a list of places I must do and see!!!! why do i love this MAC store? two reasons: 1. nicole veksler. 2. the glam goddess i morphed into after getting my makeup done by nicole. i rarely (read: never) say this but i looked hot! nicole worked her MAC magic and transformed me into a beauty queen...complete with a smoky cat eye, nude lips and a dewy foundation finish. a look i could never achieve on my own. my makeup looked phenomenal from around noon when it was first applied and all through the night. i can't thank nicole enough. she is exceptionally talented, professional and so much fun. i highly recommend her for any event! thanks again nicole! read more

I went to the MAC counter in Nordstrom on 3 separate occasions and didn't receive service once or even a Hello. I didn't go in there with a full face of makeup, I had a completely plain face, so maybe they didn't think I was a serious customer. I do the same thing at the actual MAC store and the lovely XIA helped me. I had brought a list of things that I was interested in and she found me even better options, asking me questions and really discovering my needs!!! Helpful when I need it but never overwhelming either. I came to this MAC with a mission (to find two good blushes/powders for contouring and cheek color), but I needed the help of a MAC artist before I purchased. This store is not super busy and crowded, but it is fairly understaffed and I waited 10-15 minutes for a MAC artist. When I was finally approached, the artist was super friendly and helpful. She definitely took time and effort to really match me with the products that I wanted, making sure that I was satisfied. Although you might have to wait a bit at this store, I think it's worth it to get help from somebody who will be patient with you and truly dedicate their time to help you with what you want (rather than rushed, distracted MAC artists that I've experienced at other locations). read more

this place is PACKED on the weekends! being the efficient shopper that i am I already knew what I wanted so hooray for that :). I love the layout here even if it is only temporary. The girls that work here are all smiles, something that I love to see... SMILES from ARTISTS that enjoy sharing their work with makeup lovers! I was greeted right from the gate and continuously appologized to for having to wait so long to be rung up. You can tell they put all their attention into giving their customers the ultimate experience; it's not just "throw this on" or "blend this" and a send off. they really take the time to explain things. it sucks if you're waiting but once you're helped you can see why. I was surprised to run into my girl Jamie here (i see another yelper reviewed her too!). She used to be at the Hayward location. She did my makeup for my wedding and did a great job! my make up stayed on the WHOLE day and didn't cake up or look too thick. She gives great advice on what kind of looks to go for and has a great eye for colors. As long as the service remains on point this MAC will be a success. Customer service is very important and this store has blown every other MAC Pro store out of the water! When I go in person, i get help right away even when everyone is busy. Even if its just a 'Hi, we'll b right with you' thats more then some other stores ehhhmm ( San Jose.) And i just called to get some of the class info (which sounds a-mah-zing) the lady gave me great details and really took her time to explain everything bout the classes. My addiction to MAC has gone on for ten years meow and this place makes me proud. I can't wait til the official store opens.
