I got the basic and it was the definition of mid. I was honestly expecting a lot better, it was just slightly tastier than boxed Mac and cheese. The shells were super small and the add ons were so expensive.

Cheesy goodness and everybody and the flavors are kicking, and I love the garlic and cheesy one called the goddess. Tried this place for the first time and I was really impressed with it and really enjoyed the flavors and what not and they have a large variety so I'm interested in trying the other one especially the pesto. Haven't been to the location, but I'm curious to see what it looks like.

This spot slaps. The mac and cheese is insanely good -- creamy, cheesy, crispy on top, and made with actual love. Jose is the MVP. Friendly, fast, and clearly passionate about the food. He recommended the "Goddess" and it changed my life a little. I'll be dreaming about it every day until I come back.

We have been regulars here for the past year even though it's a 30 min drive from where I live. The quality is excellent and consistent, and the service is great. There are picnic tables for outdoor seating, but the aluminum containers are great at keeping your mac warm if you take it to go. My favorite: Hellapeno with shells, jalapeños, tomatoes, topped with BBQ pulled pork. It's the perfect mix of sweet and spicy. My husband loves the Buffalo with shells and chicken, topped with panko and hot Cheetos. The perfect mix of spicy and spicy. They also have vegan and gluten free options! The portions are huge, so it's enough for two meals.

While the mac is of course is amazing these are hands down the best Brussels I have ever had! I go the honey sriracha but also want to try the aioli one and have a sneaking suspicion they would be great together Huge portions, wish they did like a sampler option for those of use who have a cheese addition and want to try like a few bites of each. Best part is the staff know how to package for to go. I drove 45 min to come here and they knew I would have the long drive home so they made sure they were piping hot. By the time I got home they were the perfect temp! Also make amazing leftovers it we ate the Brussels in like two minutes flat

MAC'D is serving up some decent mac & cheese in Portland! We ordered via GrubHub - super easy process. You can order the base (i.e., "The Pesto", "The Vegan") and add additional items (i.e., chicken, broccoli, hot cheetos topping). We got the Basic and Goddess. Cooked perfectly. Nicely baked. I do like my food heavily seasoned so I added a little more salt. I like that they included utensils, because I often order from places that don't offer utensils and napkins which can be problematic and messy depending on what is ordered. If you opt to pick up your order, there's a small parking lot in the back. The area always looks a bit empty so hopefully we can continue to support the local eateries there!

If you're looking for very cheesy mac and cheese, here's your place. The mac and cheese items I ordered were drenched in cheese so that every bite had the nice cheese pull. The items were the Basic ($12.75) and the Goddess ($12.75), which had the choices of customized ingredients such as: bacon, chicken, corn, peas, roasted mushrooms and broccoli, jalapenos, parmesan shavings, and truffle oils. The mac and cheese are served in aluminum pans, which keep them very hot. They use shredded cheese blends that seem to combine sharp and white cheddar to have the distinct cheese taste. There's also some spice blends mixed into the macaroni to give a tasty flavor instead of bland pasta. This location is located an an area with other fast food storefronts and there is a private parking lot behind the building.

I absolutely love this place. I first had MAC'D at their San Francisco location, and when I moved to Portland and saw they had one here, I was stoked. I've been a few times, for to-go and via DoorDash. Every time I've gotten it's been great except this last time. I always get the goddess with hot Cheetos and green onions. When I opened it this last time, there were no green onions and the noodles were so dry it's like they barely put any cheese/sauce on them. Usually it's completely coated in everything. I've also gotten the pesto one, it was great too! I will still be back because I love this place, but it was very disappointing last time!

We've passed this place plenty of times and have wanted to try it out. The portion size equals out to the price, they are huge! Two bowls is enough for a family of four. The kids loved their basic and love that they can put hot cheeto powder on it! It was delicious! My partner and I couldn't finish our portion even when we shared one bowl. Overall it's a great place for comfort food, and def worth checking out. We'll be back in the future to check out their other dishes

    Ask the Community - MAC’D

Does this place have indoor dining?

No, just outdoor covered tables that are shared with the other window restaurants here

Is there flour or starchy thickening agent in the sauce? Wondering if this is keto-friendly or not.

There probably is a thickening agent in the sauce, though I don't know for sure. But I don't think macaroni or pasta in general is keto friendly, but I could be wrong there.

    Any Gluten Free options?

Yes, they have cauliflower instead of noodles.

My partner and I just went to LM to celebrate her birthday and were pleasantly surprised for our first visit. The service was absolutely excellent with no water running empty, a helpful server that answered our questions and made accommodations, and a bonus birthday cookie for my partner we didn't expect. The steaks definitely hold up, too! We both got steak frites, her with flatiron and me with Wagyu and were thrilled. LM is nice and lets you swap your meat with the dish/prep style if you'd like and it was perfect. The fries were nicely seasoned, crispy, and flavorful. Do not sleep on the mac & cheese either! The caramelized onion and creamy cheese were honestly some of the best I'd had. Definitely sit outside if the weather's solid but even if it isn't it's a nice covered tent area with cute lighting that should stay warm year-round. It was a nice space that felt cozy & casual amidst the nicer food.

The food was fine, certainly nothing justifying the costs. (We didn't get the steak for two that was market price of $175). Other steakhouses usually include some main course options for non beef eaters, but here it's just the $45 halibut. We all liked the nicely flavorful side dishes meant for sharing and would encourage everyone to try those. Oddly, there's this disconnect: The place is very "come as you are" aka Portland casual, with server in jeans, some guests in shorts, etc. That's fine, even good, if you know that in advance or if you're at a fast casual place where you order at a counter, for example. But we didn't know that and we went there for a special occasion so the vibe felt off, thinking others would have also approached it as more of an upscale experience. The place is huge. Massive tent out front along Burnside (sitting in there would make it even more casual) plus the indoor space with bar seating. You probably can make a request for indoors or outdoors when you make a res. Allow extra time for parking there on a neighborhood side street.

Now on to the food: I was simply blown away! They have a happy hour from 4-6 with $2 oysters! The fish was so clean and cooked to perfection! The leek salad was beautifully dressed and came with the most perfect gooey eggs. For two people we paid $150 with tip, and that was without desserts and coffee. Things of note from a Friday night summer visit to this place that's been there four years now: High-end presentation. The plating is top level and each thing they place in front of you is like a sculpture or work of art. Nice energy, not at all too loud. They have acoustic tiles on the ceiling and on the concrete floor added a runner that echos the curve of the large bar, which helps. Portion size looked nice and generous from examples of things we saw being brought to tables, such as the salad and focaccia. Best appetizers were fried cauliflower and the asparagus dish w/ the eggs (which would be even better if warm). The one fish entree is the sablefish (ours was underseasoned) that's brought out on thin piece of cedar with edges still slightly charred. It comes with nothing else on the plate so plan accordingly. Just inside the door they have a little snack/pantry curated market of sorts, where you can linger while waiting for seating and can buy things like a cute little bottle of honey for $20 or a colorful crocheted wall hanging basket for $70. Lots of good natural light because of the walls of floor to ceiling windows. Option of ample seating indoors and outdoors because it's a corner location. Cautionary note: We saw and heard a lunatic in hoodie who, at 6pm on a Friday night, walked up to one of the unoccupied outdoor tables and flipped it over, causing the plates and glasses to fly in the air and shattered, landing in shards next to the elderly couple at the next table who jumped up, her understandably in shock and tears. Staff did nice job moving them inside to a twotop, cleaning up the mess, and removing all the seating on that side of the building for the night.

I wanted to move, but hubby won't! No matter how much I begged, he ain't movin'. Then, I said: 'the music here is too loud.' His answer? 'There's always something!' So I stayed. Since we are heading to an event, not far from here, we didn't have much time to take leftovers home, we didn't have a cooler, it's almost 80 degrees out, so we decided to eat something we could share. There's a $2 discount recess during happy hour (3-5pm). We were there at that time. (Is that the reason WHY the music were soo loud?) It was served with hand-cut fries. We looked at the desert menu, and decided on the Peach Crumble. Food taste so much better, when shared! Enough said. (We waited so long for this one, that we almost didn't made it to our event!
