I was so excited to try this place after seeing that they were new to Portland and they did not disappoint!! I tried two base sauces: the pesto and the goddess, both were amazing and the amount of meat and toppings was perfect. You can customize the type of sauce and pasta and add tons of different toppings, and only the more fancy ones cost extra. I highly recommend the goddess sauce with bacon or the pesto sauce with broccoli, but no matter what I also recommend the parmesan shavings on top! The pasta was cooked perfectly and the food arrived hot from our delivery driver. The portions were big and felt worth the price--the first thing I noticed when I picked up the food was how heavy the bag was for only 2 containers. My friend had mentioned this place and it dawned on me that I heard of it and remembered it from a TV show on the Food Network, so I was glad that now I just have to go to Portland to try it. We ordered the Hellapeno and the Pesto mac and cheeses with chicken and bacon. The Hellapeno was the favorite of the two. It was just right in spicy and with the creamy cheese just went well together. The Pesto was also very good, the only thing I would say that is a negative that it is very savory and to eat a whole dish of it would be difficult for me. Covid brings with it the need to hunt and find places to eat. It reminds me of hunting for mushrooms. You can go along for long periods of time and just never find anything edible or anything that you want. Then you pass by it the first time. You see a line and wonder what is that place about? Then you pass it again at another time and there is the line again. Now you think I should check this place out. It's a jewel in the Covid nile. Already set up as a take away restaurant it shares table with 3-5 other restaurants in the same building. There is not really a set menu. You build what you want. There are also some set items and a specials board that always offers tempting options. You select the pasta then choose the sauce there are plenty of options to choose from for add ons. Some cost additional most do not. Proteins are additional. One dish is good enough to share or choose two and know that you will have some for lunch the next day. I've always had a good tasty meal. The pasta is always cooled just right. I prefer the al dente so it's perfect for me. A good amount of cheese and then a little more. I really enjoyed the chilli mac. The chili had just the right amount of heat. There was ground meat in it. This made for three meals. I like the vegetable options to add in. They also offer cauliflower as a gluten free option. Have not tried this. Definitely worth calling in and picking up. If the weather is nice it's kind of a little oasis. I built my own Mac bowl and it was one of the best Mac and cheese bowls that I've ever had. I got the honey jalapeño cheese sauce on top of the shell pasta, with tomatoes, mushrooms, chicken, bacon, jalapeño bits, parm cheese and a breadcrumb crust. Even though the business was busy and I placed my order at the window instead of ordering ahead, I still got my food within 10 minutes and it was hot and steamy. I found my place for mac and cheese! This place is in a kinda random spot off of Mcloughlin, but I pass by it everyday, and there's always people hanging out at the picnic tables in front. When we walked up to the window, the guy working was SO friendly and rally personable. He gave us his recommendations and told us what was the most popular. We came late at night, but there were still people coming and going getting mac and cheese to go. We ordered The Meat Lover that came with Korean short rib and pork belly, and the Garlic Aioli Brussel Sprouts to take home. The bowl of mac and cheese is huge for two people. The Korean short rib was different than I was expecting-it came as a huge block of meat that LOOKED dry, but tore apart beautifully and was tender. The flavors were good, and the mac and cheese was stringy and melty, not overly oily or greasy. The brussel sprouts were on point, and the garlic aioli sauce really topped it all off. For a late night meal or quick snack, this is the place to hit up for your mac and cheese cravings! read more

I ordered the Goddess with mushrooms, peas, broccoli and chicken. The flavor of the sauce was good and I appreciate the fact that they don't over season with salt. The things I think can and should be improved are: 1. The veggies were RAW. I mean not cooked at all, very crunchy. This ruins the texture of the Mac and cheese. I hope so one reads this and makes sure they are cooked in the future. 2. A lot of the pasta shells were stick together. I'm talking 6-7 shells wrapped up inside each other creating very thick shells with no flavor not pleasant to bite into. They could easily fix this problem by stirring the pasta while it's cooking to break up the shells. 3. The chicken had a weird taste like it was low quality, old or microwaved, I'm not really sure but next time I'll skip the chicken altogether. I may order again if I'm too tired to cook myself but it would be easy to make. Which is why I think it's important for them to put a bit more effort and get it right. read more

And then the Basic - I made a mistake here. I thought when they said cauliflower, they meant cauliflower pasta, you know, like the gluten free chickpea pasta box you get at the store.
