I wish there was an option to rate the service department here at ZERO STARS. I brought my F-150 in to have the vacuum pump replaced and rear defroster fixed. This is the 4th time in the past 6 months I have brought my truck into service, for the same issues. I scheduled an appointment in advance and dropped off the vehicle, only to find out they wouldn't be able to look at it today. I waited a day and a half before getting an update on the truck. They had diagnosed the defroster, but wouldn't be able to diagnose the vacuum pump issue until the next day. On the THIRD day, they were finally able to diagnose the pump issue. It took 3 days just to look at my vehicle, despite the fact I had booked an appointment in advance. To add to the experience, I was told that neither issue would be covered by warranty, and there would be $160 diagnostic fee for the defroster (without even fixing it) and $220 for the pump hose fix. This is after both of the same issues were already "fixed" three months ago, UNDER warranty. I asked to speak with a manager and was told he would call back later. Fast forward a few hours: I actually get a call back, and it's the manager. I tried to explain everything to him, and he did nothing to help. I asked when the vehicle would be ready for pickup, as it had been 3 days already and I need the truck for work. He asked the service associate, that I had been dealing with. He told me it wouldn't be ready today, because they HADN'T EVEN STARTED the repair work yet! I requested that they fix it as soon as possible, and he told me it would be ready tomorrow (Saturday). After the conversation on the phone, I also texted the service associate and asked to please have all the repairs done by as soon as possible tomorrow, and to send a copy of the diagnosis and repair quotes. I never received the actual documentation, just a text back explaining the work. Saturday morning arrived, and I was eager to FINALLY have my F-150 back. However, I received a text from the service associate, informing me that the vehicle would be ready sometime on Monday, as the technician DOESN'T WORK ON SATURDAY. I was furious, but I asked how that was possible as I was told it would be ready today. He responded that I had not given authorization to complete the work. I asked both his manager (on the phone) and him (via text message), on the prior day, to complete the work and fix the issues. He then proceeded to reinforce that I had made no such request. Now I have to wait until Monday to retrieve my vehicle, pay out of pocket for work that should have been warrantied and arrange for alternative transportation in the meantime. This has taken an entire week to replace a $20 hose part and a vacuum pump that take should take maybe an hour to do (not to mention the charges to do such minimal work are staggering here)! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THE MAC HAIK FORD SERVICE DEPARTMENT TO ANYONE. They have lost my business for life, and I will urge others to look elsewhere for quality and professional service. read more

2016 f150 xlt sport 2.7 302A. Good thing i waited to do my review, price was great for what i purchased, but... the issues began, still ongoing in fact. First replace the leaking plastic oil pan, then the cylinder heads, still idling rough. They will not buy it back, they will not do anything but keep trying to fix it, so im out time taking the vehicle to the dealership then picking it up (3 times so far) and the driveshaft to differential seal is leaking! Another dealership scratched it doing the repair and had to fix that as well. Now i have a truck that is unreliable, depreciating by the day, and still waiting on parts for the door latches that could swing open while driving! Bad Service Dept Said my brakes were at 2MM. Quoted a 4 wheel brake job with rotors and drums. Took it elsewheres and come to find out, I had 6MM on my brakes and only the rotors needed to be turned and cost me $150.00 instead of the $850.00 I was quoted!!!! read more

Beware of the service dept. at this dealership. I took my pampered 2000 F-350 dually diesel in to have the park brake fixed (full rebuild) and to install a glow plug relay (under ford dealer warrenty). I also asked them to check to see why it was pulling to the left under heavy breaking. They called me 2 days later and said my frount end was shot, my bearings were bad, my steering linkage was no good and my shocks were gone, and a battery terminal was loose. I know I have a ball joint issue (it passed inspection ), my shocks had less the 2000 miles on them (almost new Monroe's) and thanks for the battery notification. I told them just get the park brake and the relay fixed. 3 days later they said it was done. So thats 5 work days and the weekend, 7 total. They have a car rental on site, how convient. I bit. My bill $1012. 00 plus $125.00 car rental.$200.00 to install a Glow plug relay a 30 min. max job. They jacked up the labor to cover the warrentied ($100 part ). I asked for a itemized list of the needed front end repairs,it was over $6000. Here is the good part: I got back to the job site and a coworker said "looks like your front tire is low. Aired it up and no more front end pull, looked under the hood and , you guested it, the battery terminal was still loose. Shame on you Haik Ford read more

Worst service department ever. I brought my truck in for the backup camera not working. Brand new truck 7 months old. They claim due to the sercurity system bought with the truck off the lot that it was causing interference and they could not warranty it. Now mind you that was just their guess nothing positive. This part was on the truck at mile 1 unitl now at 15,000 miles and never a problem HUM. So I called another dealership (Tomball Ford) and they said bring it right over and we will take care of it no questions sir. Tomball Ford actually even called Mac Haik to explain the whole deal which was first class of them. I wish I could take back the vehicle i bought from them 2/3 months ago. No customer service whatsoever. The body shop had my vehicle for two months (each time telling me they had to keep it to do the same work they had told me they were doing the week before). The body shop did not check my vehicle for any damage, but relied instead on the insurance adjuster. When my vehicle did not work as it should, I was told that they didn't know if it would work because it was never checked out. These guys are in the business of cashing checks from insurance companies not making customers happy. Avoid this place at all costs. There are thousands of body shops in Houston. I visited this dealership this past weekend for a used car. After test driving the car came the negotiations phase where the sales manager - Lee MerLoo was outright rude and arrogant. The way he treated us during the negotiation was unacceptable. Salesman's job is to listen to his customers and give them a welcoming feeling even if they don't meet on the price. If the sales guy doesn't have this basic trait, he should better be doing something else or get some training. I had two vehicles there at the same time for service work, a 2011 F-350 and a 2017 Mustang GT350. The truck service was fine, the service writer communicated well and although I felt the prices were high (the maintenance/service bill was just under $1800.00), they did a good job and got the approved work done quickly. No complaints here. The GT350 was taken in for an exhaust bypass flap failure on the OEM exhaust. The car has some engine upgrades however the exhaust is original and would be covered under factory warranty. The technician said the car "wouldn't communicate" with his computer so he couldn't figure out the problem....this is despite being able to physically see the broken part on the exhaust bypass (all it takes is a look!), an audible rattle at idle, and a loud clicking noise as the electric motor that controls the valve is trying to work (but can't because it's broken) when the key is turned on and the engine is not running. They called and first said they can't cover it under warranty because the scan tool wouldn't communicate so they could not figure out the problem. Then they told me the exhaust was not the factory exhaust (it is, verified by the part # in plain view that is stamped on the exhaust itself!) so they wouldn't cover it under warranty anyway. So I went in to the dealership and the service manager was very condescending and told me he could deny a warranty claim for any reason at any time. When I informed him that he couldn't do that by law, he said I was wrong and that he can and he knows he can because he was a technician for 30 years... Then he reiterated that it was an aftermarket exhaust, I told him it wasn't - the part # is clearly visible. Then he said it wouldn't communicate and I asked what difference that made since you can see the broken part and was told his tech could not "confirm" that. Ended up taking the car back from their incompetence and extremely poor customer service. Would not recommend to anyone. read more

Continue reading for an explanation. I've never felt compelled to write a review but my experience with Mac Haik Ford Houston was so shockingly bad that I needed to write this. I'm an out-of-state buyer that was trying to buy a used Alfa Romeo at this dealership. I have purchased a BMW, Range Rover, and Mercedes all from out-of-state and never had such a terrible experience. Dealership listed the car on a Sunday (6/28) when they were closed. First thing Monday (6/29), I call them for the car at 9 AM right when they open. Connected to a salesman and I get the details of the car. By 3 PM I tell him I will purchase the car and ask for a shipping quote. He gives me a quote and I tell him I will come the next day and pick the car up instead. I tell him to send me the finance contract and instructions to make the car payment and that's when the salesman completely ignores me. He texts me that he will call me soon and then never texts or calls me back. Sent him a few texts and tried to call twice but he never answered. I need him to send me the papers so I can make the payment and purchase a ticket to fly to Houston the next morning (Tuesday 6/30) and take the car by noon! Dealership closed at 6 on Monday and the salesman never responded. I finally texted him "Please let me know if the car was sold so I can move on to other cars." No response, absolutely unprofessional. On Tuesday (6/30), I call the dealership on open at 9 am again. Connected with a new salesman. The salesman asks for my info. I give my driver's license, address, FULL SOCIAL SECURITY,etc.. He sent me a photo of the purchase order filled in with my details. The first shock is that I agreed to pay their advertised price for the car, but when they emailed me the purchase order photo there was an "accessory" fee of $1,700 (this is not taxes, dealership fee, documentation fee, etc...). I asked what this fee is and they said that this is a standard fee on ALL their used cars that covers their inspection of the vehicle. I asked if any items were fixed in this $1700 dollar "inspection" and there was nothing. An incredibly shady business practice considering there was no mention of a $1700 accessory fee anywhere on their own website, the car listing on their website, or their listing on cars.com. So if you are planning on buying a used car from here, tack on an undisclosed $1700 to the list price. Anyways, the second issue is they literally sent a PHOTO of the purchase order sitting on a table, not a scanned document so I can't even sign it. And there were no instructions on how to proceed. Anyways, I agree to purchase the vehicle, including the "accessory" fee, and I tell him to proceed with the purchase and give me the instructions. The salesman says he will have the finance manager contact me to sign the contract and make a down payment. Unbelievably, this is when just like the previous day all the communication stops. Finance manager never contacts me and the salesman (different from the Monday salesman who disappeared) stops responding too when I message and call. I call a 3rd salesman now, tell him I need the paperwork and payment instructions. I also ask him if someone can pick me up from the airport the next day (Wednesday 7/1) at 11 AM and he says he can. Close the call and still no one from finance contacts me. I hang up and call the 2nd salesman again and he finally answers. I tell him I NEED to sign the papers and make the payment so I can go ahead and book the flight to Houston and be at the dealership the next day (7/1) by 12 PM to get the car. The salesman tells me ok and that he's going to talk to the finance manager NOW and have him send me the contract to sign and the payment instructions. Like you guessed, 6 PM arrived, the dealership closed, and no one contacted me. If it matters, I told the dealership I will pay cash (wire/check) for the car (so them ignoring me wasn't related to bad credit, in which case my credit is 820+ anyways). Now I'm writing this on Wednesday and the car is still unsold. The great irony is that if the first salesman on Monday had not disappeared and ignored me, then they would have sold the car and had it driven off their lot on Tuesday (6/30) by noon. I was ignored and so the car wasn't sold Tuesday. And if the salesman and finance manager on Tuesday hadn't disappeared, then they would have sold the car and I would have driven the car off the lot by noon on Wednesday (7/1). From their own incompetence they have a car that could have been paid for and driven off the lot 2 days ago now still sitting unsold. I've never had the experience of having to chase multiple salesmen to TAKE MY MONEY. The end result of this experience is 2 days of time wasted, sitting through utter disrespect, and them having my FULL social security #. STAY AWAY read more

I had an awful customer service experience here when trying to bring my car in for service when I had previously had great service in December. The other day I tried calling Ford to schedule service for my horn that stopped working and stuttering I experienced on the vehicle. Not only do you get bounced around with the call center, but when someone finally answered the phone to schedule service, they were rude. They said they could schedule me any time for service over the next month because of a recall going on. He said my only option was to come in at 7:30am on A Saturday and wait in line. Then they would keep my car for the day and hopefully get to it that day. But if I came in at 10:30 and left my car for example, I would not be seen. Then he said there was no way for him to engineer the stuttering on my car which he hadn't seen. I asked if there was a recall and he said no. When I asked if Ford was just fine with that service he said I guess so. After this horrible service, I called Sterling McCall Ford and they were wonderful. A woman answered my call right away and scheduled my service for Monday morning at 8am. When I arrived, they had a whole team waiting to help and they were so helpful. They told me about a recall that had in fact happened on my transmission! This empathetic response was all I needed after the jerk at MacHaik gave me no help and said there had never been a recall. Then, to top it all off, Sterling McCall identified that each of my tires was missing a lug nut. I had brought my car in for repair in December when my tires were stolen off of my car. Insurance covered the repair. Apparently, Ford thought it was acceptable to leave off the lug nuts on my car!!!! To say that I have experienced horrible customer service from MacHaik Ford is an understatement. I won't be going back to MacHaik for service, to purchase a car, or anything else. Shame on them for treating their customers so poorly. read more

I wish it was possible to give no stars. We drove 2 hours to look at new cars. They had a great selection online. We talked to Aladdin before we went and told him what we were looking for. We got there and told them we wanted them to assess our trade. After about 2 minutes he came in and gave us a ridiculous offer on our trade. We told him that was way too low. He proceeded to tell us that if we wanted more for our trade we should have taken better care of it. I was appalled. Even with 4 kids our car was in great condition and what kind of sales person says something like that. We left and went to the next dealership and walked out with a brand new King Ranch Expedition. I will never step foot back in this dealership! If 0 stars was a possibility I would have given that. read more

I came in for a recall last year to change out my door latches. They had said they replaced all the latches but a month ago my doors flew open while I was driving and about to go onto the freeway. I never have passengers and never open those doors so it's obvious they were not fixed. I came in today on my only day off (also super sick) to get them fixed. Was told that it wouldn't take long and should be done in the early afternoon so I decided to wait and not get a shuttle home or a rental. Went to check on my car at about 1pm and found out they haven't even looked at my car yet. Was told it may be done at 3 and the managers won't even come to the front to tell me themselves. Highly upset because I could have used this time to go to the doctor. Now I have been sitting in this waiting room for hours and they don't seem to even care. I hope I never have to come back because this has been THE WORST customer service I have EVER received! I recommend going somewhere else! read more

Bullied my brother into paying for $657 in repairs he was not notified of, either in parts or in cost, and he never approved. Completely disregarded his Platinum Care Warranty, both in coverage and on his loaner. When he asked for proof of his approval on these repairs, he was told they don't record phone calls (every Ford dealer I've talked to does, just in case this happens). And, although this is a known issue on his car, he was told the issue was his fault for "improper maintenance." I bought 2 cars in 2 years from these guys, and referred dozens over, but I will never use or recommend this dealer again. read more

Mac Haik Ford put a new engine in my 2013 Ford Escape with one year warranty. After many many car problems Firestone College Station figured out what was wrong with my vehicle that Mac Haik screwed it up. I'm definitely not very knowledgeable about cars at all, however all the problems that I was plagued with was all because of a flywheel that Mac Haik screwed up and they do not take any ownership of the problems that they have caused me. read more

We shopped around at a couple smaller lots thinking we wouldn't get approved at a major dealer...I must say I am SO happy we decided to come by here. The sales person, Ellis, was wonderful. He took his time finding us the best deal, wasn't pushy, and at no point did we feel pressured or taken advantage of. Cherokee, the finance gentleman, was also very helpful and got us a great interest rate. Tried so many times to do business w this place and every time they just blow themselves out of the water one way or another, I get burned and realize again and again why I don't do business w what is the closest ford dealer to me. Figured it's a new year, let's give it a chance...shame on me. Again. From a buying perspective, Bought 4 fords in the last 6 Years none of which were bought from Mac Haik. Happy to drive to another part of town to buy. This is a review of their service center. Recently I had to go in because while idling sometimes my battery warning would randomly show and the car engine would shut down. I took it there on a Friday and I asked them to put a new battery in and Ron wouldn't even though I showed them the pictures of the battery warnings. Friday they tested the battery and 'nothing was wrong' and they told me to pick it back up, I said no show it to a different mechanic. Saturday Ron called me back saying it passed battery test again and they refused to put a new one in. At this point I asked for the manager to resolve and on Monday the same thing happened. The shop manager said they couldn't find out what was wrong with it, but I kept escalating the issue to the point where they were willing to put in a new battery even though they couldn't figure out what was wrong. So after the fourth day of having my car just to install a new battery I go to pick it up and right on the form I signed to pick it up it clearly says my old battery failed the Monday test. The shop workers I talked to weren't even willing to admit to me they were wrong and I had to find out on my summary report. They were really rude about it so I felt like I was deserved that apology too. Last car I lease from this place at this rate. No issues since the new battery either read more

I bought a new Explorer from you and was quite pleased with the sales process. I return in less than a year because my Hanyook new tires were shredding. When I appeared at the service desk that took care of me immediately and with kindness. Except they were big on policy and low on concessions. They said no warranty on tires (policy) and they could sell me a new Michelin for $1300 with alignment which they had to do with all new tires (policy). I asked for a copy of the quote and they said their prices change daily (policy) and they normally do not print quotes. Though I am happy with my Explorer, I went to a tire dealer, bought the same Michelins for $900 and they said I did not an alignment. What should they have done? No warranty, but if you buy a set of tires, we will give you an alignment free, 5% off the tires, sorry you had the problem, Hello?. gd read more

To my surprise, when I arrived for such a test drive I was told it had been sold months ago. it took two days of calling and transferred of my call to three people just for me to finally speak to a service person.  My issue was a recall issue (monoxide in the cabin) to be serviced and an oil change.  i was told i will need to leave the vehicle with them for three days and i will not be provided a loaner vehicle.  although,  they did have a rental vehicle i could use until my vehicle is completed.  this is far and beyond the worst experience provided.  I will suggest on all social sites i work with to not deal with Mac Haik Ford read more

I have purchased several vehicles from Mac Haik Ford and it has been an overall positive experience. However I have experienced delays in the past on receiving refunds for unused service contracts, extended warranties, and GAP insurance. Last fall I traded in an F250 I purchased from Mac Haik and have been attempting (so far without success) to receive my refund on my service contract and extended warranty. My quest started in November and I still do not have the refunds. Communication from their service managers is also virtually non existent.
