I live in New Jersey and recently purchased a vehicle from Porsche of West Houston. This was the first time I purchased a car without first physically seeing and driving the vehicle. The car, a Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet, was advertised as a low mileage example in excellent condition. The detailed description provided met all of my requirements to a T. The only problem, I could not get away and travel to Texas to inspect the car. I spoke with my salesman Luis Rengifo who worked with me answering all of my questions and going out of his way to provide specific pictures and inspection information that satisfied all of my concerns. Terrible Experience with Porsche West Houston - Avoid at All Costs! I had a highly disappointing experience with Porsche West Houston that has left me frustrated and without a car. I was excited to purchase a 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 Coupe with only 9,966 miles from them, expecting a smooth process given their prestige. Unfortunately, it was a disaster from start to finish. I put down a $500 deposit on June 13, 2024, and wired the remaining $9,500 the next day. Despite living in San Antonio and dealing with a long-distance transaction, I trusted this Porsche dealership to deliver. However, communication quickly became problematic when I couldn't get simple pictures or videos of the car. They assured me it was in pristine condition - no scratches, fully maintained, and clean inside and out. When the car finally arrived on June 19, it was filthy, both inside and out. There were scratches poorly touched up with the wrong color of paint, including blue on the door handle! My sales rep, Thomas, swore they would fix everything but later flat-out refused to help. The following day, a storm hit, and water leaked everywhere--through the seats, visor, sunroof, and onto the steering wheel and floor. It was a complete mess. I had to take the car to a Mercedes dealership on June 21 and had to pay out-of-pocket to get the necessary repairs as they took forever to reimburse me over $2,000. Even after that, the car continued to leak, the passenger side blew hot air, the door lock didn't work, the sunglass holder was broken, and regular maintenance hadn't even been done. To make things worse, Porsche West Houston ran my credit nine times without my permission, even though I was already pre-approved for financing with Chase. The dealership forged dates on the credit application, causing further damage to my credit, and they refused to remove the inquiries. When I eventually returned the car, they sent my $10,000 refund through snail mail without tracking, and weeks later, I'm still waiting to get my money back. The dealership also refuses to cover my rental car expenses, leaving me stuck without a car and unable to buy a new one until this mess is resolved. Porsche West Houston's customer service is atrocious. The GM even sent a botched letter to the credit bureaus with the wrong transaction date and name, showing a complete disregard for my situation. Bought this used audi r8 from porsche west from Len Amato. He assured me that the maintenance was up to date and I was getting a good deal. I took the audi r8 it to audi dealership only to find out the car was basically never maintained, oil was black, needed new belts and tensioners, air filters were black, needed a new battery and new key, needed brake pads/rotors, paddle shifter was broken, brake fluid bad, and list goes on! He made the transaction simple, easy, pleasant and efficient. We completed most of the negotiations and discussions over email and text and only one phone call. I value my time and he did not waste it by any means. What was pictured and described via their website online of the car I was purchasing, was further confirmed by Michael providing more information. He answered all my questions. No headaches. I traded in a vehicle for the tax credit on the new-to-me vehicle. Michael just needed the VIN, a few photos of the car and they made me a fair offer. I was able to drive in my old car and use it as credit against the one I was purchasing. Easy as can be. The car was exactly as they showed, which was a good thing. Michael had the car cleaned prior to my arrival and the tank was filled with gas. He got me in and out as quickly as possible as I needed to get home to the puppy ASAP. The finance lady at the dealership, I think her name was Kayla, was super pleasant. Very friendly, efficient and professional. It was nice to end the car buying experience with a nice finance person as that is not always the most fun part of the experience. The dealership is super clean. Bottled water and drinks available. The cars are truly amazing there. They have some famous Porsche cars in their showroom that you will recognize from movies. I cannot afford one, but it was amazing to see them. Beware of your credit scores before applying for financing. My husband and I recently applied online for a vehicle. I received a notification 2 days later. Our previous 700 range credit scores dropped 55-70 points! This was due to numerous credit inquiries. Over half the inquiries were repeated with the same bank on the same day. I use to be a loan officer and this is completely careless. Now, we are unable to purchase a car until our scores are raised. Otherwise, the interest rate would be astronomical. I purchased a 2019 Porsche Macan on July 1st. I was denied financing from two banks even though I put 80% down payment and have 800+ credit score. On July 4th, I realized on the copy of the credit application that my income was typed 1/10 of what I wrote on the handwritten credit application. Leah, finance manager, affrimed to me that she submitted the information correctly and sent me a screenshot of the credit application that she sent to the banks. I contacted the banks to verify the income on the credit application that they received and was told it was in fact 1/10th of what it should have been. At this point, I decide to pay off the loan on July 5th. On July 6th, I met with Leah in person to get clarification as to why the banks did not match what she had told me. She finally admits that she did indeed submitted the income incorrectly. On July 9th, I requested a copy of the handwritten credit application and was told it would be sent. On July 19th, I decide to meet with Leah in person since I have not received what I requested even though she told me it would be sent to me. I also asked why I received another hard credit pull on July 6th even though the deal had already been finalized and the vehicle has been completely paid off before it. No further help to resolve the issues was provided after this. I have been in contact with Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), Texas Office of Consumer Credit Commissioner (OCCC) and Porsche Cars North America to resolve the issues caused by the finance manager of the dealership. I have successfully removed the credit inquiries as a courtesy to me by the bank and in light of the clerical error by the dealer. I still however have not received the title of my vehicle even though it has been paid off over three months ago. Due to the lack of commucation and their assistance for a speedy resolution, I recommend everyone to take their business to a different Porsche dealership read more

Purchased a car with only 800 mile on it, later turns out has transfer case problem needed replacement within the first month. I was told many times the car has no issues however it was so hard to drive. It would not speed up when I step hard on the gas, but instead the car actually slows down.... After serval times of complaining they finally admit the problem. ( highly suspect the store knew the issue at the very beginning but still sold to me the car). Did a 20k mile check at West Porsche, within a week, my car had a major oil leak. Tried to drive the car to the Porsche of West, the oil leaking warning light does not allow me to drive the car so I had to call West Porsche. No one picked calls, left a voice mail asked for a return call never got one back from them either. Then I called roadside assistant from Porsche. Porsche roadside assistant told me there was no car registered under my name. I am pretty sure the car is MINE! And I paid for the roadside assistant. Tried call Porsche again this time someone answered and promised would take care of the problem. Waited almost 1 hour to have road assistant come to tow the car. Received the car after the service, found out my car rattles badly above speed 45, I was afraid being in my car at this point. I was so mad and totally not going back to this West Porsche dealer. I switched to Porsche Momentum. Momentum told me, firstly, the car wheels were not balanced during the tire change that is why my car rattles badly. Then they told me my transfer case was installed wrongly the whole time for almost 2 years .... After another week of service, they also found one of the new wheel Porsche West changed for me has a bubble in the rubber had to be replaced... wow, so many issues came from one rubbish dealership West Porsche. I had terrible experience with Porsche West and lost interest in this brand totally. Just stay away from that Porsche West! Go to Momentum they will treat you nicely. read more

According to the service manager, service techs are allowed to make judgement calls when completing the 111 point inspection. When I bring my car in I expect all 111 points inspected not just the ones they decide on. Look over your vehicle before you let them take possession. They may give it back with missing parts and then claim it didn't happen on their watch so they won't fix it. They had my car for 7 days and only one email was exchanged between the service Dept & the warranty Dept. Throughout that 7 days I feel I was lied to multiple occasions. My service advisor was nice, just not knowledgeable enough for my circumstance perhaps. Additionally, they told me today the CPO warranty doesn't cover all the same stuff as the original manufacture warranty like I was told at sale. Corporate rejected my claim because it doesn't effect the function of the vehicle it's just cosmetic??? Never had this issue before. OK Porsche, if you want your new cars looking like they fall apart. Then enjoy your future reputation for not making quality vehicles. read more

OK so, my experience is a little different because I had been shopping on Autotrader looking for a specific vehicle. I wanted a 2016 or newer GMC Yukon Denali and it had to be in black. I found one at Porsche of West Houston and it had been on the lot for less than two days. I went in and met with Khalil and he was amazing, very patient and he answered all my questions, I saw one cosmetic small piece missing from the door handle and he deducted money out of the price of the car so that I could use that towards replacing it. And as excited as I was he insisted that I give him two days to make sure the car was checked out and in perfect condition for me, they even replaced all four tires. As with all used vehicles there can be mechanical hiccups that are not foreseeable, thankfully I did purchase the extended warranty, and unfortunately had a small issue with the air-conditioning a few weeks later, but I texted Khalil and mentioned it he handled all the behind-the-scenes details for me. And of course this happened right before I had to go out of town and travel for work, but while I was traveling he kept up with me via text to let me know the status of the vehicle and when I came back into town it was ready and in perfect condition. I would highly recommend using Khalil and asking for him when you go to the Porsche dealership because he will definitely take care of you. read more

I was not impressed. I have a 2016 Cayman and brought it in for service. Came to pick it up and it took over an hour to get the car that was supposed to had been ready two weeks ago. No one came out to tell me why it was taking so long. I eventually got the car and they told me the battery was dead. I have let the car sit for a month and it started right up. The car was filthy. I have a Range Rover and an Infinity, when I take these cars in they come back clean and they even offer a loner car. No not this dealership. The car had smudge marks all in the inside, black sole shoe scuff on the door panel, lint or something like lint all in the inside. Windows were not clean it was just sorry. For the amount of money you pay for these cars and the service package you would think they would be more attentive to their products and customers. I believe his name was Manuel. An associate named Phil helped as well. They were extremely helpful. Not only did they fix the problem, but they went above and beyond for me. Manuel made sure my car was washed, vacuumed..dang near detailed before I got it back. My tank was empty and they filled it up for me. I'm sure they didn't know, but it was a pretty rough day for me, as I had a newborn waiting for me at home. They made my day:) In the past, I haven't had the best luck with the service of this location, but I had a completely different experience this time around. I've been a Porsche customer with two vehicles since 2013. I visited dealership with a "build your own" worksheet for a cayman S. My poor experience was that the sales man assigned to me didn't care if I bought a car or not. He offered me an old cayman T with 5000 miles in a color that I already have in my Macan S. Then, he told me that I'd need to wait for the next allocations in the third quarter of 2022 (plus the order delay, about 3 months). I buy 1-2 cars a year and this is by far the worst used car deal I have been induced to buy.
