I've been in to this shop three times for two different cars. All three times they did great work. For instance: The first time was to fix a botched Best Buy installation. I had lots of glitches, but my system worked perfectly after Mach 1 essentially reinstalled it. The third time I went in, the crew alerted me to a feature I didn't know was available on my Viper alarm. They set it up in ten minutes. Love it. Look, they aren't cheap, but they really know what they are doing. I don't mind paying for that. I hate that I paid Best Buy for work that was substandard. read more

Where do I even begin??? I'll start by saying that if I can save just one person from bringing their car here then I'll feel better. I could make this review into a novel but I'll do my best to shorten it. When we initially brought our car here we had to bring it back THREE times because their earlier appointments kept running long and they would run out of time. The final time I ended up leaving it there for two days. This is a joke. After a couple of months the car was making a clicking noise simultaneously with a loud beeping and a flashing blue light. Also our original car key fobs stopped working completely. We brought the car back to them. They said they found nothing wrong...hmmm. This beeping, I might add not only happens from the car but from their fob as well. Even when we are not using the vehicle. Example...I will be making dinner, haven't driven car in hours and suddenly my key chain will go bizerk. Not only did they say nothing is wrong (there clearly is an issue) but they had my car for TWO MORE DAYS and they never even called to give me that much information. We finally called to ask what was going on. Seriously?!! Our experience has been so ridiculous and we still haven't gotten anywhere. Whatever you do, DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!!!!! read more

I got an auxiliary cable installed into my car a couple years ago. First I asked for a direct line into the stereo, but they installed an FM modulator, not what I asked for but it worked out fine. Fast forward two years, I'm having trouble with the shifter in my car. I bring it in to have it fixed at dealer thinking it is covered under warranty. It turns out that when Mach 1 put in the cable they did not completely replace the shifter assembly and forgot to reinstall a key part, and broke another part. Now I'm out $700 for the repair that is not covered under warranty! Take your business elsewhere if you don't want these hacks to screw up your car. read more

Customer service is terrible. I felt like I was being talked down to. My car just wasn't put back together correctly. They even cut a hole in my firewall and didn't even end up using it. When I asked them to fix it, some guy shoddily caulked a rubber piece back in that ended up falling out. My stereo wasn't tuned at all! It sounded like utter crap when I picked up my car. I ended up doing it myself. I too felt like I was scammed. read more

They had my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee for 9 hours and could not get the Viper remote start to work. They kept telling me they were on long hold times with "tech support" and were not able to get the bypass module to work. They guy helping me had terrible customer service skills, he would answer the phone and talk to customers on the phone while customers stood in the shop. I told them to take out what they had installed and give me my money back. I will never go there again for any reason. A couple days later I took my Jeep to remotestartmn.com and they installed the same Viper starter in 40 minutes with no issues. read more

Great place with friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. Went there after my DUI to get an intoxalock device installed. Helped me answer many questions and the install went smooth. Would highly recommend! Still continuing to go there for the recalibration and every time I'm out of there in less than 15 minutes. read more

Currently this company has for one star ratings and I could not agree more. Absolutely not. Never would I support this business in anyway shape or form. I understand that stuff happens sometimes but to allow the customer to drive all the way over to the little Canada location to pick up a part because you were told they would be able to install something same day, and to drive that part all the way over to their store for the install only to be told they could not do it and they don't actually have all the other parts and would have to order it because there was some sort of mixup misunderstanding about what type of car I actually drive, but to get no apology whatsoever is unacceptable. I was extremely hesitant to even try this place after reading other peoples reviews on Google, about the terrible customer service and now I know better. hopefully reading these reviews saves you time, and money, not bothering with them. Mach 1 Golden Valley employs the most unintelligent people I have ever met. The only reason I went there in the first place is because they offered remote start on a manual cheapest in the area. I made an appointment and when I showed up with my car the first time they said it should take around 2-3 hours. 3 hours went by of me sitting in a cafe stranded in Golden Valley with no word from them until I finally decided to call. They told me they didn't realize my car was a manual (something you think would be an important question when taking the appointment) and it would be hundreds of extra dollars. When I said I couldn't do it they gave me a "deal" and knocked off $200 which I, stupidly, accepted. Hours went by with me receiving no word unless I called and they would say, "Only 45 more minutes to an hour." I was there until closing time and they told me I would have to bring the car back for another appointment. I came back days later and I had my remote start (or so I thought). The remote start worked for the few remaining months of winter but when I tried to use it this winter it wouldn't work. I made an appointment for 9 AM and they told me 2-3 hours. I realized later the car did not even make it into the garage until after 11 AM and yet again I was stranded in Golden Valley until close while I called every few hours and they assured me, "Only 45 more minutes." The problem was not even fixed and they tried to tell me I was going to have to pay $400 to fix my remote start that had been put in 6 months prior and was still under warranty. I went and retrieved my car to find a dental floss stick on the floor of my car. Very classy. I made yet another appointment (this time I was smart enough to be picked up) and they "worked" on my car all day only to tell me there was an issue with the wiring in my car and they wanted me to pay for them to find the issue but did not know how to fix it because they, "don't deal with that." I finally got them to admit I should be taking my car elsewhere. I went to pick up my car only to find that they had locked my keys in my gas cap. Thank God I expected this kind of sheer stupidity and brought my spare key. I have now asked for them to email me a copy of my invoice and a summary of what they think the issue is so someone more competent can fix my remote start and I have been waiting over a week for something they continue to say will be done the next day. Do not waste your time or money at this disgrace of an establishment. read more

I went into Mach 1 in Golden Valley 2 Saturdays ago and spoke with Chris, he showed me what they offered in Remote Starts and I put down a deposit and arranged to be there the next Saturday at 9:00 am (Opening time ). I told Chris that I had no other means of transportation so I would be waiting in the nearby coffee shop for the job to be completed. I was at Mach 1 the next Saturday morning at opening and was informed that they were short of help and the job would take longer that anticipated. I took a $15.00 cab ride home and waited. At 4:30 pm I received a call from Chris telling me that due to the shortage of employees he would not be able to get the job done this day. I took another $15.00 cab ride back to Mach 1, Chris offered me either my deposit back or a 15% discount on the job. I opted for the discount and was assured that if I were to return the next Saturday ( today ) my vehicle would be treated as a priority. I returned this morning at 9:00 am, left my vehicle and went to the coffee shop across the street and waited. At 10:30 I looked across the street and noticed that my vehicle had not been moved so I went to Mach 1 and inquired as to the status. They told me nothing had been done to my vehicle, this was an hour and a half since dropping it off. I asked for my keys and deposit back which I received and now I am exploring other options. read more

I received a quote for a remote starter on my SUV as I had been given a $200 gift card for Christmas. The quote seemed expensive (over $600) so I obtained two more quotes from other shops and they were both more than $170 less! When I questioned Mach-1 as to why they were so much more they told me my specific vehicle required additional modules beyond the factory bypass. I explained that I had two other quotes for the EXACT same unit and if they couldn't try to match the other prices that I would need to cancel my install appointment. They refused to budge on their price AND I am now stuck with a $200 gift card that they would not refund which was purchased by my wife. I am extremely disappointed in the fact that they wouldn't even consider attempting to better their price to be competitive with other shops and to top it off I now have a worthless $200 gift card!!! Mach-1 also wanted me to leave my vehicle there all day for this install. The shop that I ultimately choose had me in and out within an hour and a half. I do NOT recommend these guys, or at least this location. Be a smart consumer and do yourself a huge favor by shopping around. read more

I have to give them a 5 -- they were a life-saver! I bought a 10 year old Toyota Celica with an aftermarket alarm and I was down to 1 cruddy remote. if the remote broke, I was hosed! They were able to figure out where the security system was installed and disarm it, and replace it with a new one. So, thankful! The manager, Calin, with 12 years of experience was very helpful. FRAUD - i bought Hertz speakers, they didn't install them and put OTHER speakers in. they tried to get me to buy the 'temporary' speakers (from a company that was out of business and had no warranty) and i refused. i asked for my money back, and now, 4 weeks later, am still waiting. read more

I called about a month ago to get a quote on a remote start. I was given two quotes, one for a two way system and another for a one way. I did not set up an appointment then and said I would call back. About a week later I saw they had a Groupon for the 2 way that was half of my original quote. I purchased it and called back to set up the appointment. Suddenly I had all these other things I needed to add bringing my total to almost $300 beyond the $219 I paid through the Groupon. I called back the next day to clarify charges, a different person. Turns out I was charged for push button start and automatic headlights and I don't have either. I decided to keep the appointment since I already had the Groupon and the extra charges were down to $140. When I made the appointment I was told they were busy but could fit me in. I said I was fine with changing it and they said I didn't need to. I dropped it Thursday before close, Friday afternoon I got a call that they still didn't start it and I could either pick it up and reschedule or they could start right away in the morning. I had to call back to make sure I had a way to pick my car up Saturday. When I called back he said the tech started it! I thought they just offered for me to pick it up.... I asked how long they thought it would take to finish on Saturday and he said he didn't know because they had other appointments. I got a call Saturday at noon stating there were the remnants of an old remote start and it would be an additional $60 and hour and a half added to the work time. I asked when they thought it would be done and he said again he wasn't sure but they close at 4:30 and would have it done by then. I told them I had to have it by 3 so I could get to work and wasn't very happy they had my car for two days now. He said he would give me a status update at 2. At 1:30 my car is suddenly done - what happened to the extra hour and a half it would take? I asked this when I picked up the car and he said they got started earlier in the morning then planned... this is not what I was told on the phone. I still paid over $240 in additional charges, so with my Groupon I did not save a dime and paid just over my original quote! They didn't show me anything on how to use it except how to lock the doors... I saw the timer and asked about it, they didn't program it for the time I asked. A few days later my foot caught wires under my dash that were not put back correctly! So disappointed and will never go back. I am already concerned about the system too, on my remote I have to push the lock and unlock buttons twice or hold down hard for a few seconds for them to work. read more
