We have purchased many items from the menu here, and the family combo is usually a great deal. This…read moretime, the rotisserie chicken was incredibly fresh, you could tell it had just finished cooking. The beans, salchipapa, and salad were also good. However, the rice was not cooked all the way through, which was very disappointing. We also ordered the fried fish fillet; while the fish itself was good, the rice was again undercooked, and we ended up throwing it out. Additionally, the salad dressing was very 'blah' this time; I'm not sure if they changed the ingredients, but it wasn't the same as usual. The service is quick, and I usually call ahead to order for takeout, as the store is quite small.

This place is mainly takeout but there are three tables inside for parties of two or three. My husband had the lomo saltado and since the kitchen is right there, we saw her cooking it and it was like seeing your favorite aunt making you your favorite meal. The owner and what I think are her family were very warm and welcoming. It was clear they are a staple in their community here. He thought the lomo saltado was the best ever, and we're from an area that has a lot of Peruvian. They even had his Inca-Kola. I got the quarter chicken meal and it was equally as well-seasoned and satisfying, super moist and flavorful. Definitely some place you want to try if you want authentic Peruvian cuisine served with heart. Also note: this place is not associated with the other La Vicharra in the area.

Came here for my birthday! It was really really good just like I remembered. I was a bit late to…read morethe reservation but that wasn't a problem. Definitely need a reservation for Friday night. I've been going to the locations in the city before but I'm so glad they opened one up here. The drinks were delicious we tried the watermelon margarita, passionfruit sour, virgin Pina colada, and brisa de Lima. Made very well. For apps we got the grilled octopus and Nikkei ceviche. The grilled octopus came with two delightful sauces and some grilled mini potatoes. It was tender and flavorful. The Nikkei was like Peruvian tuna poke but I wish it was a little less salty. For mains we went all out. We got the matador combo and an arroz con mariscos and a full platter of jalea. It was enough food for 6 people with quite a bit left over. One of the standouts we never expected was the seafood rice.. the sauce it came in was rich and complex and creamy. Not like a paella, more like a risotto.. that was finished quickly everyone loved it. For the matador combo it is a huge amount of food. The chicken was standout juicy and came with a ton of sides like avocado salad, rice and beans, tostones, and salchipapas and fries. It was all really good and can fill up your party. The other fun food was the jalea, it's a fried mix seafood platter. I enjoyed the seafood used they had a mix of white fish, baby squid, calamari, clams, and yucca fries, all drizzled with this light but umami filled criolla salsa, which is a mix of red onions corn garlic and yumminess. Everyone was stuffed. Finally we had cake that I night and the cappuccinos we ordered were good as well. And the bill wasn't too crazy for 6 people with drinks. The only annoying part was that the roof was a bit drippy it rained and I felt occasionally drips of water on my head..

The lomo saltado is also very good and flavorful. Not pictured is camarones cuzco. Its an amazing shrimp dish in a aji amarillo sauce. The service can be slow when its busy. It also gets very loud.

I am appalled by this behavior l, unfortunately the owner was not there. She is Peruvian and always supports Peruvian business, not this one anymore. Only because she is Latino would they treat her like this. I will Make sure to never go to this location, I rather spend my money on the other Vicharra in Glen Cove.

Like what the other reviewers said, the ambience could be better and the wait staff does need more training. We had a sweet waitress but got our orders wrong and really didn't know anything about Peruvian food. It was almost comical. Good thing we were the only ones there and we were in no rush. The food though....super YUM! From the green sauce with the corn nuts, down to the churros. We got a shrimp ceviche, steamed fish with tomato sauce and fried fish with yucca fried and tomato onions. I loved the steamed fish. Really delicious and cooked perfectly. We wolfed it down before I could take pictures. The fried fish was crunchy on the outside but not over cooked. Tasty! Both dishes came with a mound of pyramid shaped rice. Churros were simple but delicious. Ours came with a sprinkling of cinnamon sugar, which was fine for us. I will be back to try more dishes on the menu. Would love to see their famous rotisserie chicken offered here as well. If they work on the service, it will bring the restaurant to a whole different level.

An absolutely amazing experience from start to finish!…read more I've always loved Jora in Long Island City and had been wanting to go back, but then I heard about Urubamba Pisco Bar. I was excited to learn it's the sister restaurant, owned by the same family, so my expectations were high...and they absolutely met! My family was visiting, and it was the perfect opportunity to finally try it. We started with the Ceviche Mixto and Grilled Octopus, both of which were incredibly fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. For our entrées, we ordered the Pollo a la Brasa, Adobo, and Tallarines a la Huancaína, and every single dish was outstanding. The flavors were authentic, rich, and perfectly executed. The cocktails were just as impressive...unique, creative, delicious, and every bit as good a expected. The service was warm and welcoming... and the entire experience felt like a true family restaurant. The biggest compliment? My 5-year-old nephew couldn't stop licking his fingers because he loved the food so much! I can't wait to come back and highly recommend Urubamba Pisco Bar to anyone looking for incredible Peruvian cuisine, amazing drinks, and exceptional hospitality.
