My first time at a Mackenzie River location! Visited on my way to Billings, and needed some carbs to fill up my body before making the final two-hour leg on a Saturday evening. I had a Stockman pizza with the Italian sausage, meats, and cheese. They also had a refreshing amber ale that I enjoyed. Some of the reviews are mixed, but I lucked out and had a great pizza to get me through to the next hotel room. Four stars, I asked for a box and then had to remind her again a few minutes later to get me a box. I get that it's a busy Saturday night full of travelers and locals, but it isn't hard to grab one and go to the next table. Delicious pizza, I'll make a return stop sometime. There's a Mackenzie River in CDA that I may try eventually as well. read more

Attempted to place an order over the phone because their website is so inadequate and you cannot customize your pizzas online. Three times I tried to call within a 15 minute period and I got referred to a voicemail every single time there was no humans picking up the phone. They offer an extensive menu and seasonal specials. We got the pear and blue cheese flatbread, a "small" bowl of bison chili and the Korean salmon bowl. That was a lot of food! I really liked the flatbread - lots of cheesy goodness. The bison chili was good. The Korean bbq sauce was a tad spicy but was offset by the jasmine rice and veggies. The salmon was cooked perfectly. I grew up in Chicago and this is still one of the best pizzas I have ever had. We ordered a harvest cherry pizza- thin crust and a huckleberry salad. They were both so fresh and the crust was crispy. The flavors paired wonderfully together and it was enough food for two people to split. Highly recommend coming here in the summer for their 406 summer fare menu because both items were off of it. The only reason my review is not 5 stars is because the service was extremely slow. So bring your patience if you come, but the wait was well worth it! read more

I don't leave reviews very often but this seems to be important.. my coworkers and I went to lunch recently . Two of us ordered a pepperoni pizza that was included in the rod and reel special. She ordered thin crust. I ordered original crust. My pizza literally had 12 pieces of pepperoni on it while hers seem to be completely covered. Why the difference? We dined in on July 24. Had not eaten their honestly in many years. Has really gone down hill. Service was sub par. The Willow Creek sandwich had a literal shave of avacado and about a quarter cup of mayo (wish I had taken pics). Our guests pizzas were less than tasty as well. The roasted Brussels sprouts appetizer was basically raw and the spinach dip tasted like cream cheese with a little bit of archtichoke. Food, service, ambiance, and proximity to our hotel! Each of these things at Mackenzie Pizza added to wonderful stay in Belgrade before our flight out of Bozeman. I loved the variety of gourmet pizzas they offered. My husband and I shared the Sequoia pizza with thin crust and a Beet Salad with the dressing on the side so we could decide if we liked it, and we did. And we each enjoyed a glass of wine. The pizza and salad were both delicious... (seriously surprised how much my husband liked the salad ) We wanted to try one of their yummy deserts but we were so full and satisfied by the flavors of our dinner we didn't get any sweets. Service was excellent! We went in near closing time and our food and the service was still given all the bells and whistles. This is a must try, especially if you are staying nearby. I arrived at peak dinner hours after stopping by some other places in Bozeman that had too long of a wait for me, but there were a few tables available here. My server was attentive, frequently reappearing to take a drink order and eventually to take my dinner order. I got the Fiesta bowl, which was incredibly flavorful. The flank steak was incredibly tender and smoky. My only gripe with my meal was the disproportionate amount of corn to the rice and beans; I could've done with another scoop. The restaurant, while mostly full, remained at a decent auditory level, perhaps due to the high ceiling. Realizing there are negative reviews for poor service but they must be working on it! We are from out of state visiting friends and came for a drink and app! The atmosphere and food were wonderful but we had the BEST server- Ralston!!! We have always loved this place. But the last time we ordered take home was unreal. One sandwich had a piece of meat the size of a quarter, literally the size of a coin. The rest of the sandwiches didn't have $5 worth of sandwich fillings, including meat, on them. They were 2 pieces of bread with barely anything between them. One had an avocado piece about an inch long and a half inch wide. We drove a round trip of 18 miles to pick them up. So disappointed. This location is terrible! I have gone to the Bozeman location for years and it's always been a favorite, but the Belgrade location has repeatedly had very poor service and food. This past weekend I ordered a pizza and skillet cookie for takeout. I arrive at the quoted time and went to the pickup window. A young, college aged boy told me my pizza was "just coming out of the oven" and would be ready in 5 minutes. Over 10 minutes went by before I checked in again to see if it was ready. He turned around and pretended to look into the kitchen and said they were just cutting my pizza now. I said great, and stayed at the counter since no one was behind me. I waited another 10 minutes before another college aged girl came and asked me what I was there to pickup. I explained that I'd been there for 20 minutes past the quoted wait time for the pizza and had been told by the other boy twice that my food was just about to be ready. She said she'd go check on it. She came right back and said my pizza was just now in the oven and had about 8 minutes left. It was obvious that the other boy had lied to me about the pizza "coming out of the oven" and "being cut". I would've just appreciated him being honest about a delay so I could go back to my car to wait until it would be ready... After waiting an hour in total for the pizza (and I ordered it at 4pm, so not during any rush hour) the manager did come over without me saying anything to tell me he was sorry and he comped the meal. I really appreciated this on his part. But when I received the pizza and skillet cookie I was very disappointed with the quality. The skillet cookie in particular was burnt and it wasn't even pressed into a skillet cookie shape- you could see where they threw the balls of dough in (shown in picture). I've been to this location about 4 times now and each time have been thoroughly disappointed with not only the quality of the pizza (the Bozeman location as a point of reference) but also the very poor service from the college-aged staff. read more

We ordered about $150 worth of pizza for a child's birthday party so it was a pickup order. When we arrived, an additional 18% gratuity was added to the total withOUT it being disclosed at the time the order was called in and NO choice given. Had it not been for a birthday party with a house full for people waiting, we would have walked out. At what point did gratuities quit being optional and, most especially, when we were not served but simply picked up the to-go order. Wow! Delicious food, warm environment, and friendly service. I stopped here in Belgrade with my mom for a yummy lunch and we were pleasantly surprised at how good it was! For an appetizer we ordered the Lodgepoles (cheesy breadsticks) and we each got an individual pizza for our meal. Diana was our kind server, and even included a ranch with the Lodgepoles although 1. Only a side of marinara was on the menu and 2. We did not ask for ranch. (It was like she read my mind!!) We were just passing through Bozeman and our "Low Pizza Alarm" was ringing MacKenzie River Pizza was adjacent to the interstate, so we gave it a shot. I wasn't really impressed. We ordered the "Good ol' boy" (Pepperoni, basically) and it was meh. We asked for thin crust, and they nailed that part: It was as thin and crispy as a saltine cracker. But it had no flavor whatsoever. There was a whole pile of pepperoni on top, but hardly any cheese to hold it all together. And, overall, absent the pizza satisfaction one might expect from a good slice. Plus, it was on the small-ish size for a $20 pizza. Also, ordered the Bison chili. This was better than expected, but not "traditional." It had whole kernel corn in it (?) and plenty of beans. But, overall, great chili flavor and thickness. I'd order this again. I hear the pastas are good, and the salads. We might try again on the way back. But probably not. read more

What used to be a great place to get a good pizza and beer has turned into a sad excuse for a local restaurant. Our salads were soggy and drowning in dressing. Chop salads mean to chop. The lettuce was limp and in large torn pieces. The pizza was undercooked. By undercooked I mean cheese that was cold and crust that was raw dough. I'm not exaggerating when I say I have had better frozen pizza from the grocery store. We came in hungry and excited for good pizza and beer and left without touching half the food that was ordered. Server could've cared less to remember food order, forgot 1 of 2 dressings, then brought the wrong one when I reminded her. Cheese was funky, smelled/ tasted like it had gone bad..when let her know she just said ok, then took bowl w/ fork in it so I had nothing to eat my salad with. Had to flag her down to get a fork, then she came & asked if I still wanted that dish.. I said yes pls, but hold the cheese if it's the same sour cheese as before.
