Pub grub. Service was good. Aye outside on a pleasant lunch time. Must have just resurfaced the parking lot as the tar smell made us move from a street side table. No fault. Enjoyed a mushroom starter which was typically breaded, fried. The vegetable cheese melt sandwich had me searching for the cheese, and removing a bitter piece of cucumber. This was my first visit to Dulany's, we had our monthly book club meeting here. The atmosphere was good, a typical bar and grill environment. Our server was wonderful, she handled our larger group (7) well. The low rating is due to the quality of the food. I ordered the standard chicken salad and was let down by the freshness of the ingredients used. The avocado was grainy, mushy, and had black spots. The hard boiled egg was grey, and the lettuce was noticeably a few days old. The chicken and bacon were excellent and I ended up just picking out those items to eat. I would not have be surprised if one item was low quality as it can easily happen, but having a majority of the salad made with aged ingredients was alarming. I would still give Dulany's another chance in the future as the quality of the service was great. But I hope the next time I visit the food quality standards have improved. read more

We came during happy hour for the i first time. As a usual patron I ordered the cod sandwich and my friend ordered the chicken strips fries thinking it was half price. When we found out you have to sit on the bar side to get happy hour half price I asked if they could honor it this one time since we did not know. The incredibly confrontational manager said it's written in the menu and the staff should not have to let customers know prior to ordering. She reiterated her point multiple times even after I said I guess we'll agree to disagree. So incredibly rude and unprofessional. Very unpleasant experience. Very disappointing. Amazing!!!! Great place for eats and drinks. We had our 40th Class Reunion at Dulany's and they were the best to deal with for there private room. I worked with Chrissy to get everything organized and set up. She is awesome. She called me and helped me with everything. I wasn't the one always doing the calling. She offered ideals to help get this reunion together. The waitress and bartender Jeannifer that worked the reunion was excellent. She helped me deportation before the party and keep checking in with me to make sure everything was going OK. The food was great. We had a buffet of food, chicken wings, to die for, toasted ravioli, Italian salad, dollar rolls sandwiches. They kept the foid coming and hot. The prices are gewat and not so high that you can't afford to enjoy yourself. I will use them again for another party and another class reunion. You will be very happy to come to just eat any day of the week or host a private party In there private room. Dulanys is a typical great local tavern in South St Louis County. Known for pizza and sandwiches. They have a great staff that treats their customers well, provide excellent service and make great recommendations for meals. There is a Cardinals special on days when there is a Cards game you can get a pizza and a bucket of beer for a special price! Definitely worth trying. Pizza is great, wings are great, sandwiches are outstanding and entrees bare reasonably priced. Enjoy your meal! read more

I decided to try Dulaney's from a recommendation on their pizza. These types of restaurants aren't typically known for their pizza, so I may have overlooked if it weren't for the suggestion. Their pizzas are hand tossed with fresh dough. The sausage is made in-house. I got half pepperoni and half sausage. The pepperoni was a standard fare but certainly not bad by any means. The sausage, on the other hand, is one of the best I've had anywhere. Between the sausage, mozzarella, and dough, this is one of my favorite hand tossed pizzas in the area. They may not have as many options as somewhere like Dewey's or Mellow Mushroom, but the overall quality is a step above IMO. read more

We'd been one time before and we remembered it being pretty good. First off, our waitress, Sydney, was awesome. Beyond that everything was a disappointment. I got the potato skins and a salad. There were 6 small potato halves on the plate, only 6 and it was $10.50. And to top it off, they weren't even good. They were over cooked and had barely anything on them in the way of toppings. My husband got the bbq burger and I don't even know why they bother to ask you how you'd like it cooked. It was well done and he asked for medium. He said it was ok but only average. I had the Frisco melt with chips, friends had tuna melt, turkey club, and fried chicken salad with sauce on the side. Lunch portions were adequate and some people actually thought it was enough to save a portion for later. Pick up a straightforward and ready in about 20 minutes. We held a rehearsal dinner in their banquet room. it was phenomenal! With a private entrance and restrooms to the soundproof divider from the restaurant; it was like having our own private facility. From initial visit thru the event, the Banquet Manager Chrissy was above and beyond in helping and making certain everything was perfect, patiently enduring our taste test dinner, with so many delicious choices. While serving a group of 40, the kitchen staff prepared the King Sirloins to perfection. Aramis hosted us the night of the event, and was exquisite in her service of our party. This is a top notch location not just for a party or a special event, but for a family dinner or after work gathering. And the Dulaney Dogs are out of this world! read more

We moved away from this area a while ago and haven't been here in a long time. We remembered it being really good. After a dr appt we stopped in around 3:30. The food, drinks and service were great. I don't really care for brussel sprouts but these were fantastic. The steak was cooked perfectly. I should have taken a picture of the salad. Hand shredded cheese on fresh greens. Who does that?? We have lived in South County for 7 years and first experience at Dulany's. Our waitress was very good, but the service is scored low because of the Manager. The food was not great. My wife ordered a burger medium well. The burger came out cut in half and was Medium Rare. We asked for it be cooked to Medium Well as ordered and in less than 1 minute it came back. When served the second time, the burger which was cut in half was fine on the outside, but was still Medium Rare in the inside. The burger went back a 3rd time and the Manager served it to us and asked for my wife to cut into it to make sure it was cook to Medium Well. And again, it was not cooked Medium Well and she took it back. On the 4th attempt it came back Medium Well, but was all crumbled to the point which the bread couldn't hold the burger together. We asked for a box to take it home to cook it and the check. The Manager only credited us 50%. When I let her know that we should not be paying for the burger especially since it took 4 attempts to cook it properly, she said she was taking the burger back and would remove the burger. She was refusing to let us take the burger and admitted they would just throw it away. I can honestly say after spending 20 years in the hospitality industry, I have never seen or heard of any restaurant taking food away from a customer and punishing them for requesting the charge to be removed completely when they cannot cook a burger to the customer's requested temperature. I say punished because this lack of customer service made us feel like we were wrong for ordering a burger Medium Well and for expecting the burger to be fully comped. Any restaurant experience is 50% Service/50% Food. If one fails, a restaurant should attempt to overcompensate for the lack of the other. This was a failure on the food and the service by the Manager. The Manager shared it was a tough night and it was only 7:15pm. After more discussion and debate, the Manager gave us the burger and took the full price of the burger off of our bill. The Manager tried to say this was not normal because as you can see how busy it was. The amount of people in a restaurant does not give any restaurant instant credibility....in my opinion, the restaurant service has to continually earn it. I ordered the chicken spiedini which came with a salad and vegetable. I asked for no onion on the salad and it came with onion. The spiedini did not have any of the lemon oil olive as advertised and was burnt on the ends. And my broccoli was cold. Very disappointed. Sorry, we wanted to like it especially since there are not a lot of non-chain options in the South County area. read more

Long time customer of The Haven and Dulany's. Never had a problem before tonight. Tonight though we sat for over an hour without being served, and I would not say they were very busy. Seated promptly at lunch time. All ordered water with lemon. Everbody in our group stated the water had an extreme metallic taste. The waiter informed us that numerous patrons had complained about this and that it must be a sewer issue (appetizing fact). Their response to the problem, deliver more lemons to the table. When asked about the special for the day the waiter informed us it was a "shrimp taco". When asked how it was he replied that he did not know of anybody ordering it today. That was an honest, not ringing endorsement though. We all settled for three chef's salads. We requested they all be tossed and they were all promptly delivered as requested. When you go to a place like you Dulany's, you expect that burgers, pizza, and other comfort food to be great, as they always are, but then Ron and his staff surprise you away by offering a hard-to-find Hawaiian fish called Escolar or Walu. It blew us away with the taste and how it's prepared. That is next-level stuff for a restaurant to be good every day but also accomplish the extraordinary feat of surprising you with new and exciting dishes.
