It's okay, comfort food for non-Asian people. It's really not worth the pain if you're lactose intolerant. I find the regular macaroni and cheese to be the best, any addition seems to be subtraction to me. The smaller size is a bit too small, the larger size is a bit too big. No Cinderella size. Having tried the Loaded Baked Potato, Jalepeno Popper, Hangover, Chicken Bacon Ranch, and Buffalo Chicken Macs, I would say they all really live up to their name. All of them taste exactly as you'd expect and have the right amount of flavor and add-ins to make it work as a fusion dish with M&C. There's a good amount of seating inside where they'll serve your dishes in a pseudo-cast iron pan. The one time I ate in though, another pair that ordered after us got theirs first, then we got our order maybe 20 minutes after them, but the lady gave us free cookies as an apology. But then the order she gave us was half wrong, so another 10 minutes later and we got the right order! And she gave my friend a free punch card to make up for it. I received a coupon in the mail and always wanted to try this place. Exploring the menu, I noticed that they had a Mac and cheese with weiner pennies just like mom used to make. MACS was a close store that sold different types of macaroni and cheese dishes with a variety of toppings. We picked this one because well I haven't tried it before and my friend's sister said it's one of her favorite spots. We decided to order for take away and ordered online through their website so we can just pick it up and take it to the hotel room instead of eating at the location. We ordered a lobster mac and a Philly's mac and a kids mac meal that came with a drink and apples. Overall the size of the food was pretty generous and it fed five people! We got the larger size portion though just FYI you can pick different sizes if you ever come across this store. I have driven past this place so many times and today I finally stopped by for lunch before some shopping. The place is nice and modern looking and at 12:20 it was filling up. The place takes your order and gives you a number so you can sit anywhere and they will bring the food to you so you have no idea of how many people are ahead of you. The place has multiple seating areas and huge 8 person booths in the back. I ordered the Philly Mac and cheese, a regular for $7.99 and grabbed a table and waited for my food. The Philly cheese Mac seemed like it was taking a while to come, I would think that the Mac is already made and they just top it off and finish it off in some broiler to melt it down. It was a good 15 minutes before my bag was brought to my table which seemed long for serving Mac n Cheese. To my surprise it was smaller than I would have thought in a little tin. The Philly Mac looked good with a small piece of toasted bread on top that I ate first, the toasted bread was rock hard and I thought I was going to break my teeth. The way they build the Mac is the Mac is on the bottom and cheese on top of that and then the specific flavor is on top. The top was nice melty cheese with the Philly toppings that tasted good but when you got just the Mac from the bottom by it self it's pretty bland. It would be much better if everything was mixed all together then you wouldn't notice how bland the Mac by it self is. The noodles were cooked nicely and not cooked to mush. Overall it was ok but I was not wowed at all and I'm not sure if I will be back. I will have to try that other Mac place to see which I like better. read more

I cannot give this place enough stars. Wow, what a cool concept with perfect execution to match! While they have melts (grilled cheeses), salads, and some sides, you come here for the Mac n cheese options that are phenomenal. An insider tip: the employee taking our order (which is done in a fashion identical to Noodles and Company) you can make small substitutions to the different combinations they've created on their menu. Following suit, I ordered the jalapeño popper mac, subbing out cream cheese for cheddar. The picture shows this, but the orders come out baked into cast iron skillets with a toasted baguette slice, which to me is just awesome presentation. The Mac n cheese was the perfect balance of cheesy and creamy/saucy, stringing endlessly from skillet to fork. I really enjoyed mine and would entertain getting it again, though my girlfriend ordered the BBQ chicken which was also good. I really liked the sweetness that the BBQ sauce brought. I'll note that I ordered the regular size and left mostly satistifed, but if you're hungry I'd recommend getting the Mac daddy size. I probably would've felt slightly overfull had I ordered the bigger one, so I have no regrets. I hope you have the chance to enjoy this restaurant soon. Stopped by for a GNO with my friend and daughter. Already went in knowing what I was going to have given I'm calorie counting. Ordered the Apple Bacon Blue salad but forgot to ask for the dressing on the side. Ran back up to the counter to see if it could still be done. Unfortunately, it had already been added. To my surprise, the manager said it wasn't a problem to make a new salad. Okay, wow! Now that's customer service! The salad was very good! The apples were fresh and just enough bacon, blue cheese crumbles, and craisins to add extra flavor. My daughter ordered the Orginal Mac-n-Cheese. She's a pretty picky eater but loves this dish. It's very creamy and has a nice outer crust. It was no surprise to have her eat the entire dish. My friend ordered the BBQ Chicken Salad. The dressing was lightly drizzled and just enough extra goodies. She said she'd definitely order it again. As we finished up the GM came over to visit. He cleared our table and chatted with us for a few minutes. It's so infrequent for this to happen nowadays especially at more of a fast food place. Giving this place an A! I was craving Mac and cheese after thanksgiving of course Macs has closed off every other booth for social distancing, however if you have a large family, these booths are massive and can hold ~8 ppl in one. They have a good variety of different flavor Mac and cheeses on their menu. My boyfriend and I tried the regular size of the Philly Mac and the Chipotle Mac. Each one comes with a piece of toasted bread or two if you get the larger Mac Daddy size. They were extremely flavorful and cheesy! Pretty decent amount of meat and veggies in it, and they definitely don't skimp on the CHEESE. We absolutely loved having this on a cold night. Because of the heaviness of the cheese, 2 of the regular size was just enough for the both of us. If you're looking for leftovers, go for the Mac Daddy. This is a yummy fast food place. We were in town for the Chicago Cubs game and it was a great lunch on a rainy day! I had the Philly Mac and Hubby had the Loaded Baked Potato. Found this amazing concept while browsing on Yelp and HAD to go check it out!! I'm so glad I did. It took me a while to decide what to order since everything on the menu sounds incredible, and I ended up going with the loaded baked potato Mac. It was absolutely delicious!! I took my order to go and loved that it was served in a tin foil pan, so I could reheat my leftovers in the oven later on. The cheese was creamy on the inside, cooked perfectly on the outside, stringy the way I like where the melted cheese pulls out on your fork, and the potatoes and sour cream with chives were something I never would have thought to add to Mac and cheese but they were so good I don't know if I'll ever appreciate "plain" Mac again! Decided that we must definitely check it out while we are here. We got hungry and decided to do the 2 minute walk over and do take out. We got 3 Mac Daddy sized Mac and cheeses: the Popeyes, jalapeño popper without bacon, and chipotle chicken. They have some vegetarian only options: Popeyes and veggie, but they are able to modify any of their options to not include meat. The food was absolutely delicious, 10/10 would recommend. The Popeye was honestly a little on the bland side but they had some sriracha and gave that to us in a to go container. The Popeye is a great healthier option if you don't want to feel as bad while eating cheesy, delicious goodness. I also love the little Tostinis on top that are crunchy they gave. The Mac daddy size was great because now we have plenty of leftovers for a midnight snack. Loved it and would go back if I was a local. read more

Couple items to address, my cheesesteak toppings had tons of grill flecks in the mix. I found myself pushing the topping around to get around it. I should have said something but just pushed through. I'm not positive, but it seems like the same mac and cheese with just different toppings. For the price, I'd like to see more variety. I had the small chipotle chicken mac and there was a lot of chicken! I barely made it through half the bowl because the combination was so filling. I didn't find it spicy. The rest of the table (I went with 4 others) finished theirs and was very happy. I'm not sure if I ordered wrong but I wasn't disappointed to leave half my meal.
