My husband and I went here Sunday for our anniversary while we waited for an event we were going to. We got the chicken philly sandwich and the regular steak philly with buffalo wings and BBQ pork cheese fries. Everything was AMAZING! It was a little pricey but definitely worth the price. The portions were HUGE and we had a lot left over. The staff was also insanely friendly and super helpful with every question we had. We live about 45 minutes from here so it is a bit of a drive but we will definitely be taking the drive back here. read more

No frills. Does not look nice from the outside. The inside is clean and simple - nothing fancy, but nothing to hold against it. You come here for the food - the cheesesteaks are clearly the best in the 585. The bread is shipped in from Philly and absolutely perfect (soft, but not overly doughy, with a great crust). Peppers/onions are perfectly caramelized, they use very good cheese, and the meat is really well done. The meat is nicely chopped so there aren't any huge pieces that you can't bite through and I haven't noticed much in the way of big fatty chunks. read more

Was not at all impressed. Just got back from Philly, where real cheesesteaks live, and had 3 different variations while I was there. Every one of them was about 100 times better than this. Made cheesesteaks in my house, much better than this. Dibella's? Better. Honestly, even Subway's cheesesteaks are better. The problem, the main problem, is size. These CHEAP OUT on the meat. If you don't want to serve large sandwiches, don't open a cheesesteak place. Just wait until your next Philly trip, hit Pat's, or Tony Luke's, just not Geno's, which is still better than this place. read more

I was so disappointed when I found our the East Rochester location closed, but I'm so happy I found this place. The rolls are perfect and the steak is as close as you can get in upstate New York. Fries are great and service is generally really quick and friendly. read more

Pretty good local cheesesteaks. I love the bread texture and how it doesn't take away from the beef flavor. The garlic cheesesteak was pretty salty but still pretty good. If we were in Philly I think I'd have to give this place 3 stars, but locally it really holds up. Great for takeout! read more

I can say it's the best cheesesteak in Fairport. Maybe even Rochester. The bread really makes it and thank god they have a real cheesesteak roll not some bready Di Paolo roll. I also enjoy their take on plate with shaved steak. Ain't nothing wrong with steak on a plate. Their hot sauce, actually has seasoning that makes it a little spicy. Something you would expect from something called "hot sauce". I don't like the fake dollars to save for a free sub seems wasteful and I lose them easily. read more

Chicken and Steak.... two of each. That was how we celebrated with my parents tonight. I had them cut each 16 inch sandwich into quarters... they were loaded with grilled peppers, onions and mushrooms and topped with cheese. It was very well portioned meat vs veg... not greasy at all! I was expecting them to be... The rolls are quite tasty- not too crunchy of a crust... just thick enough to absorb any moisture form the meat. They arrived to the house still hot in their styrofoam containers. It was a great change of pace from our usual take out routine and the service was awesome. I called ahead and they were hot and ready to go when we arrived. I was worried four subs for the 6 of us wouldn't be enough but we actually had one full 16 inch sandwich left over! This place doesn't particularly stand out--utilitarian building in the old donut shop by the tracks, nothing too wild on the menu, generally an unassuming shop. But it's everything it needs to be. The fries are crispy, the pickles are crunchy, and the sandwiches are straightforwardly good. The bread itself makes everything work. When my brother and I want to meet somewhere for a solid meal some rainy Saturday morning, we come here. The food is great here most of the time. I've tried everything from chicken to the traditional philly including most of the sides. The service at this location is good usually however not quite as efficient as Canandaigua. The prices, I'm sad to say are quite inflated. My most recent visit, a Chicken Philly, with their combo including a side was nearly $18. That's an upper tier entrée at most steak houses in the area and I've never come even close to that price in Philadelphia. read more

Terrible Customer Service. Today I ordered a sandwich via delivery and asked for it to have ONLY mayo and Country Sweet sauce. I received a sandwich with everything on it. Ok.... people make mistakes so I called to make them aware. I was told that they remember taking my order and made they sub with everything because I didn't say take off each specific ingredient. As we all know when placing an order ONLY means ONLY; not in addition to everything. I literally went back and forth about nonsense. I instead of the person just owning up to making a mistake they placed blame on me (the customer). Now I'm waiting an hour for another sub to be delivered and they make it a point to request the trash sandwich back. Sucks because aside from today I've had great experiences. Meh. I don't see where the 4 1/2 stars comes from. Don't get me wrong, the food is tasty, but for what you get it's not a value at all. We ordered 2 kids grilled cheeses, a half steak plate and a small 6 in steak sandwich no roll. Over $40 for that and on the plate there was about 3 bites of steak and all the rest was Mac salad. If they were a little more generous with the meat I think it would be a solid 4 stars. I don't see myself going back to pay over $40 for a cardboard container of Mac salad even if it was tasty. If the name of your business is macs philly STEAKS, you should maybe include steak in your menu options. read more

Didn't ask for peppers, onions, or mushrooms; cheesesteak came with them anyway. Nowhere on the menu does it say that those are default. Never seen an "authentic" cheesesteak place that adds those without asking. read more
