I love Macy's but not this one. I only wanted to buy a pair of sunglasses! The guy behind the counter said he'd get someone. He returned to say she'll be there in a second. 5 minutes go by, he leaves and SHE doesn't show up. At least my glasses were on a rounder, so I can get them, and pay somewhere else. No one at the next counter, or the next, so I go to the CUSTOMER SERVICE CASHIER. Who says she can't sell them to me because the glasses have a sensor she doesn't know how to remove. So instead of fixing and learning how, she sends me away. So I go back to the round over filled and cluttered accessories counter hoping to find an employee, not just a man with a radio playing with locks. I find 3 huddled together, and ask if I can by it. I disturbed them, and they really let me know by being very annoyed. Anyway, I didn't buy the glasses because I had a $50 gift card that she said I can't use it with my Macy's card to pay the difference. Whatever. Macy's, ya messed up this time. And this is not the first time at Macy's BREA. Never a problem in Santa Ana or Costa Mesa. only BREA. Maybe Brea is a training ground, or where they send the bad employees. read more

I favor Brea mall because it's so close to my home, but also because I truly love all the stores. I'm not one to shop for makeup, I tend to keep things really simple but there are a few things I need and love like every woman. Cosmetics counters usualy annoy me and the over zelous fake responses to how everything looks "amazing" just for the sake of a sale...is enough to keep me away. I generally stay away from Nordstroms because I have to dress like impress to get any real service. I wanted a new CHANEL foundation and went to Macy's to get it. The lady at the counter was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful I think her name is Yvonne or Ivona. Very sweet lady and in the end I purchased much more than my intended foundation. I found my cosmetics counter. :-) Next, it was on to find some good deals on a few blouses which also turned out to be a success. Macy's rocks! read more

If I can give a NEGATIVE 5 stars, than Macy's deserve it by hiring an employess like Cherly. this review is for LINGERIE DEPARTMENT sale lady name Cherly. I was sitting in the waiting area waiting for my friend. I could not believe how lazy and useless this sale lady name Cherly. Within half an hour, I saw Cherly turned away 3 customers: 1. an asian customer came out from dressing room asking Cherly if she can help her find a certain size. Cherly said I dont work in that department. 2. when a middle eastern lady wanted to pay, Cherly said can you go to other cashier. I am busy. 3. a Hispanic lady want to pay, she send her to other cashier also. when my friend asked her about certain style in certain size, she said they dont make that size in that style. Came here the other day to get some shoes and found a pair that I fell in love with. Problem though was they had a 6 and 6.5, both missing their other half. Nicole though was really helpful and went above and beyond to help. I was willing to purchase the miss-match shoes but management wouldn't allow it so Nicole called different stores to try and hunt down the shoes for me. I appreciated her help very much! read more

Susan that works in the Men's department was extremely rude and nasty to me. I tried to return a bow tie and she accused me of wearing the bow tie because it was all messed up but I was delivered that bow tie messed up. She was making my return extremely difficult. I just wanted to get my money back into my Macy's card and she said I could only get store credit back which I was confused by because I used my Macy's card. I work retail commission and that is not how you handle customers. I was very disappointed by the way she treated me. I hope something gets done please. Every time I come and shop here it is so easy to browse through the store. Its clean and well rganized other macy locations tend to be super messy. Customer Service is so kind at check out too! Checking out is quick. The only thing is that the bathrooms could use an upgrade. But you can easily go somewhere else to use the bathroom since it is a mall. read more

So much more of a selection than other stores, like Downey, but so much more expensive! Also, the kid's dept is in the men's store. They have two Macy's stores. It was nuts on Dec. 23rd. Wait time to check out at the register was about 20 minutes and they were straight out of bags and boxes, but I guess during the holidays you have to expect everything to be a lil crazy. read more

Ugh I came here at the end of November. This place was so unorganized. I loathe the fact that they separate all their men's clothes into "collections". For example, they had all the Tommy Hilfiger stuff in one area, and all the Polo Ralph Lauren stuff in a separate area. Which sucks as a guy. Why? Because I walk in and know what I want. "I need a long sleeve dress shirt that would be cool for a business-casual type mode"...so then instead of ALL the long sleeve shirts being together, I have to check all of the different collections and walk around the store and waist time. Men shop differently than women imho, and this spread out arrangement sucks. But really why I gave the 3 stars was because in every section of men's clothing there was shirts in the wrong place, stuff unfolded, clothing without size tags, clothing with incorrect size tags. It really depends on who helps you when you go into the Macy's. They have the pop up stores where most women just speak to each other. The people that work in Macy's always seem very busy helping people like there is not enough employees to assist but the stores within stores they usually always have more than enough. read more

They to have a clearance section with item's that are marked down I happened to find wallet for $14.99 and I had a 25% off coupon and dress shirt 39.99 also 25% off really happy with my find I will be back to look for more sales. read more

I don't normally write reviews... but I was so mad. I bought a coffee machine from Macy's , long story short... the pot broke, I was only looking to buy a replacement, however Macy's does not sell the parts and the manufacture is unavailable (was on hold for 1 hour, and sent email however no one ever emailed me back). Called Macy's again shared my problem... got absolutely nowhere. I just cant believe that they would promote products with such poor customer service support, and furthermore not offer any help. Super sad to say, that I will no longer shop at Macy's because the trust isn't there. In the past I have bought furniture at the Macys at South Coast Plaza and had a very attentive and helpful salesperson. The worst customer service I have ever received. I shopped in the beauty and shoe department and in both sales associates were rude, had a "I could care less" attitude, and another was on their phone while I politely asked for help. I was shocked, as you expect better service when shopping at Macy's. I not only had this experience once, but on three separate occasions. I think everyone in the shoe department should either be retrained in customer service or replaced completely. I received better service in every other store in the mall. So i called customer service to check the status of my order & the agent told me that the item was not sent to UPS due to some problem which the agent doesn't know what really happen. Macy's usually isn't my go-to shopping stop, but I was on the hunt today for shoes for my mom's wedding and a bridesmaid dress for myself. My mom spotted some gorgeous shoes that weren't quite comfortable. But Samira in the shoe department was such a great help getting shoes for my mom to try on. I later found a potential dress in the original color that my mom wanted to incorporate into her wedding and it fit perfectly in the short version of the dress. The coral color she originally wanted to have was too bright for her liking, but we found a longer, sea foam green version of the dress that we were able to order online, and even receive discounts on with opening a Macy's card. We were going to open it online, but we decided to go back to find Samira to see if she gets credit for recruiting us to open a card. We found her and got the card set up.
