Like Macy but encountered rude staff at the second floor women's plus size department when I tried returned 2 items. I waited for 15 minutes while she served one customer. No apology. Then she accused me of returning a worn item. I would never return an item that was worn. Then she gave me a mouthful for returning a "last act" item that's over 30 days. I did overlook the returned date. But no need to be disrespectful. Just tell me that it's passed the returned date and the store can't take it back. read more

If I could give this Macy's zero stars I would. I have not shopped at Macy's in years but decided to buy couple hundred dollars worth of new work clothes last week. I needed to exchange three pants for a smaller size and the sales associate who helped me named Juvwana is the worst! First of all she did not listen to what I wanted to do. She proceeded to have me buy new items and not do a return. When I caught her mistake I went back and instead of apologizing she started mouthing off, rolling her eyes and the topper was when she said, "Its not a big deal I didn't process your return right it's not like you lost someone. I'm burying a friend this weekend." She said this in front of my infant and 2 year old son. Who deals with customers like that? I can't believe I actually felt bad when I found out that Macy's is closing some stores but now I know why. I had such an awful experience in the cosmetics department during my last visit. I have been a long time user of Lancome product for almost about 10 years now and this was by far the worst experience of all cosmetic companies that I've ever had. I was shopping with a friend on a slow day and we were trying to match a new foundation to my skin tone. I looked around to try and find an employee to get some help but no one was in sight at the Lancôme kiosk. We continued to attempt to match my color as we were rudely approached by an older woman with the leading question of, "Are you girls going to actually buy something or are you just jacking around here?" Stunned, I replied and explained to her that my skin tone was a little darker and I was trying to find a new foundation. I told her that my previous color was Bisque 380; she misheard me and responded "well first of all, we don't even have a Bisque 318 so I don't know where you got that from". Once we finally matched my color, I asked her if I could also get the new mascara (Monsieur Big), since I had tried it previously and enjoyed it. She seemed stunned to see that I actually knew the product. As we proceeded to check out, the first thing she said was "you're paying with a gift card, right?". As if she was implying that I didn't have money to actually pay for my product. I was actually paying with a debit card, not a gift card. As we left, she did not thank us or acknowledge our purchase, she just gave us our receipt and walked away. I feel that this customer service not only poor, but extremely rude. I will not be returning to this particular location. I feel that I was judged for my age and unwanted at this location. read more

I took a long lunch today planning to do my valentine's day shopping early and get it done beforehand this year. I went to Macy's brea location. If I was making predictions I would say that Macy's is the next Kmart. The store wasn't busy and I still couldn't find any help and when I did it was a kid with no knowledge of the store. The store seemed much darker than I last remember it being? Maybe they're saving money on light bulbs and training employees. I stopped by the restroom on my way out. This place reminds me why I prefer to shop online. Was looking for a basic interview outfit, and even with the sales, it ended up being 5x more expensive than online. The fitting rooms were an absolute disaster. Clothes ALL over the place, and no direction to help customers at all. At retail stores, an employee will usually give you a number to hang on the door but here you just find a room and change. The fitting rooms themselves have no way of telling if anyone is in them unless they're just open. During my experience, people were moving in and out to check with family members so there was no real way to tell which room was available. Overall one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a retail store. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED AVOIDING THIS PLACE. read more

First off, I only was shopping at Macy's because I was given a gift card. I usually cannot tolerate the disorganization and lack of customer services. However, I tried calling the store to see if there was a product available for me to pick up but literally NO ONE picked up the phone. So, the recorded message transferred me to the online extension to see if the product was available via looking it up on their systems and potentially putting it on hold for me. The woman was useless. She didn't understand anything and said the product was unavailable even though I knew it wasn't. She couldn't help me and just kept saying "I don't know". LENSCRAFTERS I made my appointment at the LensCrafters located inside of Macy's at Brea Mall. I didn't even realize that there was a LensCrafters located inside Macy's so naturally I went into the LensCrafters store (located next to Sears) for my appointment. When I arrived there were about 5-6 employees working yet I stood at the counter for a good 4 minutes without being helped. Once I was actually helped the person at the counter notified me that they did not have me in their system and then told me that I likely had an appointment at their other store located inside of Macy's. So I proceeded to ask him if he could look up my appointment to make sure. He blankly looked at me and said "we don't have the same system as them". Then I asked him if he could call the other location to make sure before I walked over there, to which he responded "I don't have their number" and then picked up the phone that was ringing. So . . . I walked out of the store and proceeded to Macy's where my appointment was actually at. When I got to the LensCrafters counter at Macy's I was greeted by Natasha. She was adorable, polite and incredibly helpful. She asked me all the right questions and made the whole experience very enjoyable. She immediately put me in a good mood after my frustration from before. Dr. Saria Iqbal was so great. She evaluated my vision and provided me with answers to all of my questions. She was honest and gave me information that I needed rather than trying to push additional services. The location inside of Macy's does not have the ability to do same day glasses but with help of Natasha I was able to purchase my frames and take them, along with my prescription, over to the other LensCrafters inside the mall. Natasha completed my profile and told me that the other location would simply need to look me up and they would be able to see the lens choice I had made. Once I arrived at the other store I once again was faced with the same guy that "helped" me the first time around. He again was not helpful and was unable to locate me in the system. After several minutes back and forth I was able to tell him which lenses I wanted. My glasses where available within an hour which was great! My overall experience was fantastic but only as a result of Natasha and Dr. Saria Iqbal, who both work at the LensCrafters located inside Macy's. I will continue to go to this location for services in the future. The 2 of them made up for my frustration many times over. read more

I went to handbag department to make a return. There was a salesperson named Mary who was so loud and extremely rude. She was telling people what to do and where to go in a very loud and unprofessional way. She was distracting and making me and others uncomfortable with her behavior and had an argument with one of the customers while I was there. She did my transaction in a humiliating way and treated me like a criminal! I stopped her and treated her exactly the same way but that is not what I would like to experience when I go out shopping especially to a place like Macy's. was buying a lot of fragrances on fathers day and felt like the employees were fighting over me, i know they are on comoission but i have never shopped somewhere, where they are so agressive and territorial. i felt like i was getting ripped apart by them so i left the building to calm myself down. it was that bad i was getting a panic attack! when i come back one of the associates that was helping me her name is Cary, tells me 'so are you going to buy anything?' she looked annoyed at me and angry so i tell her i still want to look. at that moment another associte approaches me and ask me what I want to smell. It felt nice to finally be ASKED what i want so i told her the name of the fragrance. at that moment Cary rolls her eyes at me and walks away angry. I know they work on comission but cary made me feel uncomfotable to shop. she was rushing me and being very rude. i felt because i speak english with a accent she was being rude to me. i felt better when the younger girl helped me. when i was going to pay cary took the fragrance from the girl and rang it. i felt bad because the girl didn't get the comission and she was the one that help me. i wanted to speak to a manager that day but they were taking too long i had to leave but i will not come back to macys brea. they are very rude people working here just because she has many years with the company she can get away with treating people badly! read more

I bought men's t shirts of Michael Kors brand which has 60% off sale . The original price is $79.95. So I asked the cashier (the lady name starts Vi , I could not see the whole name) what is the price with 60% off. She said I have to pay $51.40 including tax. I paid, but I thought it is wrong. So I went to the cashier to claim I paid too much. As I showed her my calculation, she admitted her error. So cancelled the sale and paid again. I am not talking about her mistake, I saw her very rude attitude and she never told me sorry and thank you. I think she as department store attendant is not suitable. I went in to exchange a birthday gift last night, and was helped by Jean in the jewelry department. She has outstanding customer service and although she did upsell me, she treated me like royalty. Had it not been for her impeccable customer service, I was ready to walk out. I ended up purchasing diamond earrings, which were not my initial intention. I even told her that had it not been for her, I would have never gotten earrings at that price. She opened up not only a Macy's account for me, but signed me up for several discounts on a couple of different cards and ended up saving me hundreds of dollars as a result. **This review is a little mixed because I am not honestly sure if I should give this Macy's a 2 or 3. ** I originally went into this Macy's last week Saturday because in my opinion it is the lesser of two evils. (The Macy's in Santa Ana). I don't particularly like either one and if given the opportunity, I usually find myself at the South Coast Plaza one. Unfortunately, I have been procrastinating about buying myself some new clothes and shoes lately due to lack of time in my schedule as well as not wanting to rack up another credit card bill. I guess when your "good" jeans start looking like they belong on a person 2 sizes bigger than you, it's time to go in and do some shopping. I went in mentally prepared for a hard day of spending money and enjoying myself. I had an idea in mind that I would be picking up jeans, maybe a few blouses, visiting the Benefit Brow Bar and the Finish Line inside of Macy's. I got my eyebrows done with ease and moved on to get my jeans and then shoes. All the ladies were super helpful and assisted me in choosing and purchasing things that would be beneficial to me. Fast forward: I get home that evening and start taking out my items and removing tags so I could throw them in the wash. I notice one of my jeans still had the security tag. I thought to myself, no big deal I'm off next weekend and I'll take it back to have it removed then. Over the week, I started to use my new jogging shoes and noticed that the toe box was a little to slim for me and my piggies were getting squeezed. I decided that I would be returning those as well. Alright, moving on to today. I take my shoes over to the shoes department and the young lady that works specifically for the Finish Line helped me to find another pair that would suit me better and returned the other. (I saved $20 bucks too). When I was done there, I mosied on downstairs and waited patiently for the sales girl to finish up with the customer ahead of me. (the total wait time was probably about 5 minutes as she was the only one working that particular department). As I walk up to the register when it is my turn, she greets me and apologizes for the wait. I tell her it's no problem and that I was in no hurry. I explain to her that I was there last weekend and that the sales woman forgot to take the security tag off. She asks to see my receipt so I pull it up on my phone for her. She looks it over and then inspects the jeans and then asks why there tags were missing off the jeans. I was startled by her question but explained to her that I was going to wash the jeans before wearing them. She then told me she would have to get a manager because she could not do the return. At this point I was getting agitated. I told her to look at the receipt one more time and tell me if she really thought that I had stolen the jeans. (I had spent quite a bit that day). She ignored me and called one of the managers over. The manager didn't give the situation any thought and just approved the removal of the security tag off of MY jeans. I let the manager and the sales girl know that I didn't appreciate being treated as though I was a criminal and that they should take better care of their loyal customers. I have been a Macy's card holder for nearing 8 years now but after I was treated today I don't think I will be using the card, let alone shopping at Macy's for a while. read more

The salesmen was not helping anyone, and after I was standing at the register for 15 minutes, he yelled across the aisles to see if I needed anything which should have been obvious as I was standing at the register. This is a comment about discrimination. Please, before you have security follow someone to the exit of Macy's, make sure that people are actually stealing. We had just purchased shirts in the Men's portion, first floor of Brea Mall's Macy's and we were humiliated to find out that security was following us to the exit. Probably assuming we had stolen something. In the times we are in now, it's not a good look Macy's. Not at all. My mother is almost 50 years old and does not deserve to be humiliated like that. And I know it was us because the security man was on his phone giving us side eye and followed us from the register all the way to the exit. How humiliating and disappointing. I always thought Macy's would provide a worry free, non-discriminatory shopping experience. My mother is even a platinum card member. However, today we have second guessed ourselves. Sad. read more

Horrible. This Macy, the one in puente hills. All of these stores look like they're one lost sale away from bankruptcy. I bought a suit and had the coat tailored and the pants mailed to me because my size wasn't on site. I received the pants and they fit NOTHING like the pants in the store fit( pants in the store were the wrong color, same make) when I picked up my coat the fitting wasn't correct and the sleeves to short. I returned back and asked if I could have the suit re tailored since I already paid and wasn't happy. The lady in men's suits told me the tailor wasn't in, but I should go across the street to another tailor?!? THIS IS WHY YOUR BUSINESS IS FAILING. Rejects an unhappy guest and refers them to a "better tailor" I will be cancelling my Macy's card and will only purchase from Nordstrom. I left Macy and spent $1700 at Nordstrom on an entire new suit, shoes, shirt tie and socks. That could have been your $1700 Macy's brand. Train your staff, clean up your stores, TRY to provide service. read more

She explained everything - why she was using a certain product on her and what she recommends while considering my sisters budget. She even told us about the gift with purchase. I went to the Macy"s in Brea on Friday, the manager or whatever she was was very rude!! It was early in the morning maybe she woke up on the wrong side of the bed! I went to the Jewelry department I wanted to purchase a Michael Kors watch, yes it was a the only one they had and she couldn't sell it to me because it was a display and she also said that the watch is NOT worth anything to the store" WHAT"! It's kind of funny cuz when u go to the shoe department they sell u the display! I told her I really wanted it and that I had been searching for a couple of days! Do these employees really think a mother/daughter duo in the slippers section is really going to steal some slippers?!! This employee was so obvious! I was on the hunt for my mom to find really good house slippers and everything is so frilly&cheap looking with expensive pricetags!
