Five years since my last review and I'm still shopping online, still hating going into this store due to lack of service. This review is for the ladies who work in the returns department...Woohoo! As good as it gets! I feel I've tortured them a whole bunch, having ordered a ridiculous number of dresses and returning several the same day received for the past month. They were so friendly and even commented on those they thought would look nice on me given the color and occasion. And on the clear misses and my confession to not knowing what i was thinking, I received compassionate smiles and slight giggles. I was so stressed to find the perfect dress! Macy's does NOT want your money. That's the only conclusion I can draw after going to three different cash registers and no one was working at any of them. I had at least $200 in merchandise that I left for them to put away because I left in frustration. No wonder people shop online. There is no service in the store. read more

This location is a solid four stars. It has a variety of options, is decently organized and clean, and there are staff members throughout to ask questions to, if you have any. We have been through here a few times and it has been consistent. They definitely focus on the name-brand items, and have decent sales and deals if you look around in the various sections. I find the jewelry section / accessories section to usually be the most chaotic part of the store, but it's also one of the places with some of the best deals. Overall: A- Looking for a deal on brand-name items, this would be a good place to look. read more

I was heading to the mall and did a favor for a friend, exchanging a couple sweaters for her. I went into Macy's upstairs to the men's section and asked at a counter where two employees were standing and talking about their New Years plans if they could help me find the sweaters in a larger size, either in the store or online. They just directed me over to another desk where I ended up standing and waiting for 15 very long minutes while a man's shopping trip was slowly rung up. When it was finally my turn the sales woman looked up the sweaters on the computer. I figured I had to go to this specific department because the sweaters were found here. Why couldn't the first two lazy sales women do this? I can tell you that you wouldn't get this kind of customer service at Nordstrom. It was absolutely ridiculous and a waste of time. read more

Today I did a "pick-up in store" 8/24/2019. I ordered a food processor. I drove 35 minutes from East Mesa to pick it up because it was back ordered online and did not have it at my closest Macys. When I got home I began my recipe. When I opened the box someone's OLD rusty food processor was inside. I called Macys immediately. Spoke to "Chuha" at 8:28pm. She told me- that it didn't come from their store- that online pick-ups ship from cooperate. Lie. This was a same day pick up. This item has a RETURN label on the bottom. DO NOT do a online pick up here. IF you do- open and inspect EVERYTHING. Also. I was hung up on- while waiting for a manager. Called back three times- to be told "the manager can not be found" by "ken". Who then gave me a direct extension to try and reach them myself. What a joke. So disappointed. read more

I Was Taking advantaged of One of the 30% off sales. I popped into Fashion Square Chandler Had great Customer Service When picking up my online order. And looking at Boots. I found a Coat That was A Great Deal! It was not the color I was looking for But I thought Buy The Coat For A great Deal and See if The coat had other Colors At Scottsdale Fashion. I went up The Following Day I Went To The Coat Department. I looked For Someone To Help Find The Type Of Coat I was looking for. The Sales Associate Looked At The Coat With out Even Touching it and Said We Don't Carry That Brand. Ok...... she definitely shouldn't be Snobby since she was Very poorly Put together her self. I said Ok Thank you And walked down stairs to the shoe department It Was hard to round up an Associate Then once I was ready to purchase I waited over 15 min to Pay Both Associates were doing returns. The customers doing returns were Shopping around. But the associates were continuing to do the returns. With 5 customers waiting The man in the shoe department Was very unwelcoming. Fitting room attendant was pretty rude in the junior section. I tried on clothes twice and the 2nd time she raised her voice and told me "DONT leave your clothes in there" I reminded her I didn't and have always brought them out. I get it. Your understaffed. Avoid the Benefit cosmetic counter. Was browsing all the products for over 10min and was completely avoided. Multiple staff walked by and never even said hi to my daughter and I. Macy's is a store that has been around for a really long time. You would think they would have the customer service figured out by now. I love shopping at Macy's regardless of its service. I think it might be a little unfair to post this comment since I have had great experiences before and that I will make sure to post them as well. The reason I'm posting this negative review is because the lack of customer service really showed this time. I went to Macy's this past weekend with my mother-in-law to do some shopping, now, we are aware that every store has different set-ups and everything is organized differently, which is normal. However, we went to the clothing section and we were looking for a specific clothing line and it was taking us a while to be able to find it. Then, we encounter one employee and asked her if she worked there so I could ask for directions. She then said, "Yes, but I'm on Break" .. I totally understand that was her free time and probably not getting paid for, however, a simple let me show you who can help you would have been more than sufficient. I mean, she didn't event know what we needed, she didn't even try. I would suggest for employees to remove their name tags and to not be in the store during their break times to prevent this from happening again. It is very shameful for a store that has been around for this long to have such poor customer service. I think I will stick to online shopping from now on. read more

So my best friend and I went in to do a bit of shopping. We also had stopped in because she had her account to settle. The associates are all decently attentive and informative when it comes to knowing where the different departments are located if you're a bit turned around which was helpful. We stopped into the lingerie department and tried asking the young lady who was working about a few different product lines. At first she seemed like she knew what she was talking about. However, as the conversation and questions continued, we came to find she was a bit full of it....hmmm. So we began walking towards the exit. Then we saw that some of the luggage was on sale. My bf is getting married soon and was looking for travel luggage and we just started peeking at what they had to offer. The entire lightweight set of this luggage was 50% off!!! Are you kidding me?? That is an amazing deal for the fact that the brand is top of the line. Then on top of that, she had coupons to use she received in the mail. And she used her card discount on top of that. All in all she ended up saving approx. 72% total. The woman behind the counter who checked us out was supremely pleasant and helpful. She even opened up the larger cases to place the smaller ones in so that way we were not lugging around 3 traveling bags around the mall. I believe her name was Kathy. I was actually pretty impressed with the service. I went to register for my bridal shower, and I wanted to register at the MAC cosmetic counter at Nordstoms, but they don't have a registry at all, so I went to Macy's. They have a registry, but it's typically for china and luggage apparently, they thought I was a little crazy I think for wanting to register for cosmetics. But they let me and were very accommodating. So I went downstairs and talked to Shauna at the Clinique counter, she really knows what she's talking about. and is very nice. I will definitely be back to see her. Overall, I don't typically visit department stores, feels so 90's or something. But after this experience, I might rethink my patronage. read more

Macy's tends to be consistently good with their customer service, and this location certainly maintained that appeal. I found myself here yesterday because I was meeting a friend for lunch and wanted to get her and her baby a present. Additionally, on Friday night I'd brought home three cologne samples and had our dog, Brady, pick one out for Robert's Father's Day present. (He picked the Roca Wear, which was also my favorite. I love that son of ours.) The lines were long but the associates remained calm. I would have been throwing linens and hangers at people, which is probably why I'm not in retail any longer. There were some wonderful sales going on and I love when the associates make comments about my astute shopping abilities and the savings I just scored. read more

Macy's is my favorite department store, hands down. My love for Macy's was clearly passed down to me by my Macy's Black Card Holding Mama (save your oohs and ahs, please). I only shop at Macy's when there is a killer sale, but it seems that lately they have a killer sale nearly once per month. The coupons they send are fantastic, sometimes 25%-30% off already reduced prices. That means you can get that stylish dress you were eying and feel that much less guilty about it. No need to hide it in your closet and convince your spouse it is "that old thing?" because you got a great deal on it. Celebrate it! One thing my mom and I love to do is talk about what great deals we got at Macy's. My mom has infinitely more patience than I do, so she will browse clearance racks until she finds the perfect thing. That means she ends up spending $3 on a $229 coat or $8 on a $79 dress, once all her incentives and coupons are tabulated. I wish I had more patience. I just HATE going through sale racks unless I am with a friend who I'm helping revamp her wardrobe. Macy's shoe sales are also sinful. In their most recent sale, I snagged three pairs online and picked up another two at the store. "These old things?" So I ordered a bedding set for my boyfriend on 11/27/2020. Said it would take 3-7 business day so I thought ok no problem I understand its busy. Well 2weeks later still no update or anything. So when I called to ask(which also takes forever because there are so many automated option) they said its in transit give it like 3 more days. Well I called today which was another week and then they tell me it was never received and they would be refunding my order. Ok so the fact that no one sent any kind of update is ridiculous. I had no way to even track the order. So now I have to find a different gift and im on a budget hence why I bought it from Macys because it was on sale. Also couldn't use my extra 25% off cuz it wasnt coming up. All I know is I'm super frustrated and I will never order or shop at Macys again. I work in retail and I understand its busy but the fact that there wasn't any kind of notification and now I have to wait 7-10 business days to get my money back. We went to Macy's furniture department to find some furniture for our new place. We were very happy with not only the selection, but the service was great. Most definitely our best sofa hunting experience of the day. The sales person was extremely helpful and very knowledgeable of the product they offered. We think we found the sofa we wanted, but our sales person told us that there will be an upcoming sale in Sept where we can save additional $. Now that is good ethical service. Thanks Macy's! This is one of my favorite department stores. I have my sercret spot to park that gets me pretty close to a door that allows me access to the womens departmet which flows into the purses/bags (good selection) then to shoes (small selection, needs improvement), right into beauty and fragrances (which houses Lancome, my brand, but has dropped escada and that bums me out). Good quality merchandise and customer service. Remember yelpers, you get what you pay for, so this may be a bit higher than walmart, but it's quality all the way around. read more

I had the worst customer service ever this afternoon at the Macy's store in Chandler. I purchased a Michael Kors watch a total of 3 thus far. The third Michael Kors watch I had nothing but problems the first two weeks, the watch tarnished and color and then I returned it ,exchanged for another watch . I returned the watch are attempted to exchange it for another one this afternoon I had a male associate working the Michael Kors line who acted as if he did not want to help me so he passed me to another female associate who had no clue to what she was doing. James the customer service manager in the men's department are Steven always help me , because I spent so much money at the Macy's store. I get the warm fuzzies entering Macy's... maybe it's the whole association with holidays and warmth and comfort (Macy's Day Parade attachment). PLUS they carry Martha Stewart home goods (of which I'm a big fan) and I've never NOT seen a sale going on for shoes, clothes, jewelry... you name it. I have bought so many things here as either gifts or for personal use, you can say I am pretty loyal. Their shoe staff is helpful and will even look up shoes for you off the clearance rack (most store staff don't even care what you think if you're buying off the clearance rack) to see if another size/color is at another store. I would say the only department they lack in is the Lingerie department... tried to find wedding lingerie for a friend and Dillard's had much better selection and variety. read more

I love Macy's and always have! You can beat a good Macy's clearance.......period. Move over Kohls, when Macy's is having a sale you simply can't beat the price and quality of the items that you find. The INC line is my favorite and it is VERY closely followed by the great selection of Coach products that they carry. I have never seen so much Coach on sale as I have at seen at this location. I am a new fan of the Martha Stewart home stuff that Macy's carries! Nice high quality bake ware and bedding! Staff is friendly and helpful and the store doesn't seem to ever be over crowded. I also love the Starbucks Coffee Shop that they have at this location! Only thing I could say is a con to this particular location is that their women's clothing department is lacking. Since the store is smaller than the other nearby locations they obviously can't hold as much. Even still, I still find that I frequent this location more than any other. read more

I get it- its one of the busiest shopping days of the year. I've been in the fashion/beauty retail industry for 15 years, I get it. After working countless Black Friday's myself, if anyone is sympathetic to associates and the perspective of the employees, it would be me. But, nothing excuses the fact that there is clearly lack of talent available on the sales floor for YES, one of the highest traffic days your store will see all year. Or the fact that the store is so obviously terribly understaffed, or horribly scheduled, that the trash in every part of the store is overflowing with cups and food items- SO disgusting. There was no recovery going on. Thanks, the evening shopper definitely was not treated and welcomed into the store the way I'm sure they welcomed their 6pm shopper on Thanksgiving Day. Perhaps that is what happens to profit-hungry, lack-of-connecting with-customer companies when they put their own ideas of success before their employees needs. It was utterly a disaster and you don't even have to work in retail to see that was the case. I walked in, fully prepared and willing to deal with any lines, tired associates, etc. I had done my research ahead of time, no dilly-dallying, in and out, they can have the commission, I get my couch, done deal. Walking in being greeted by that messy and trash-infested disaster should have been my first cue. Walking thru the home appliances and home goods area was a nightmare in progress......you don't have open boxes of knives on the level where kids can reach- seriously. SMH. I waited in the furniture area for 20 minutes before I finally went up to the one associate and asked for help. She was in the corner, working with one couple while at least 15 other people milled around. Lack of coverage, lack of sales, lack of profit- great equation Macy's. Yep, I walked in, and walked out- no sale. At least the parking lot wasn't full (natch). Not even gonna try another store- online with this Brand forever. I moved from Scottsdale to Maricopa a few years ago. The Scottsdale Macy's was excellent. The Macy's store in Chandler Mall was good. Recently I have had many bad experiences here. For a start it is very hard to get someone to answer the phone when you try calling the store. Jewelry department is the exception. SURPRISE! That is where the money is. The store is messy. Most of the associates can't answer a simple question. I spoke with management about this and it fell on deaf ears. I really think a big change has to be made at the top of the MANAGEMENT team at this facility. I won't shop there anymore even though they have great prices for the most part. There is plenty of competition out there. I will go elsewhere. read more

I wish Macy's would do something to earn itself a decent rating, but each and every time i try to deal with them (in any capacity) I end up disappointed. The only reason this review is two stars is because most of the people that I dealt with during this ordeal were friendly and really did try to be helpful. The corporation itself though has got to change their practices and consider quality and customer experience in their decision making. My most recent story begins about a week ago when we found a dress we were looking for online. The website said it was in stock at this location. Got to this location, couldn't find the dress, three employees tried to help us with no luck. So one offered to order it for us and have it sent directly to our home. We purchased it and received a $10 reward card good on a future purchase. The dress showed up about a week later with a broken zipper. What the heck? Did you all even look at the dress before you packed it? So I take it back to the store today and the woman asks me if I even tried to fix it? Uhm...no! Then she proceeds to tell me that the zippers are self correcting and all you have to do is zip it down and back up. As she's saying that she tries to pull the zipper down and it won't budge. So she said if I only had some pliers. Pliers? I should need pliers to wear your dress? She keeps tugging and pulling try to prove to me that the zipper is self correcting and finally the tab comes all the way off. Okay...she says. I guess we'll write this up as damaged and order you another one. Now mind you that I've kept my patience this entire time even though she's wasted a good 15 minutes of my time - not to mention the other customers waiting for service. So she began clicking on the register in order to process the exchange. When she's done she tells me that the $10 reward coupon that I received when I purchased the dress is no longer valid because I returned the dress. Huh? I'm not returning it, I'm exchanging it and I'm only here because you sent me a dress with a broken zipper. Sorry, ma'am but if you return the merchandise then Macy's takes back the reward. Okay, now I'm done. Call a manager. This is now about principle and basic common sense. I wait a good little while for the manager and explain to her the absurdity of the situation. She starts clicking on keys and says well it will only let me give you a $5 reward and that's not really okay...she says with a question in her voice surely hoping I'd just take the $5 reward and walk away. Oh no sir! I could give a rat's fat bottom about the $5 at this point but I'm not leaving without it because you've inconvenienced me multiple times and I'm leaving here with every penny owed me purely out of principle. She finally gave up on clicking and just gave me a $5 gift card. Just a reminder of why I really don't frequent Macy's often. read more

I have shopped at many a Macy's in my day but today was not the best experience. I was in need of a very specific item, a black chunky belt to go with a specific outfit. First off I could not find an associate to ask were I could find accessories let alone a black belt. I eventually figured that the belts would probably be somewhere around the jewelry or the purses so I made my way over to the jewelry department. Eventually I found the belts in a very small corner by the purses. The organization was horrible and I probably should have just looked elsewhere but I was running out of time and I just need this particular item. So I started looking through the belts and low and behold I found a gem on clearance. This is where the real issue began. I made my way over to the nearest counter that I found and no one was around. I went to look around the accessory department to see if I could locate an associate. No one to be found. I saw one associate assisting a customer with a purse but I did not want to bug her in the middle of a sale. I figured I would just head to a nearby jewelry counter to make my purchase. I noticed an associate at the Fossil watch counter and I approached her. I asked if I could purchase the belt at her counter and she very rudely tells me that she is with another customer and she will be with me in a minute and that I should just stay put. I did not mind that she was with another customer, I fully understand that but it was the tone in which she said it that was very off putting. Also with so many other counters open at Macy's I did not understand why she could not have suggested that I maybe go to another counter. I did decide that I did not want to deal with that attitude and took my purchase to another counter. This associate saved the purchase for me. She was very friendly, approachable and lovely. She even scanned an additional percent coupon for me that she did not even have to do. So bottom line here that I learned is that there are certain people at this location of Macy's who do not make a judgment on the purchase you are making who are more than willing to help you and also those who hate their job and cannot wait until you leave. Your experience will vary depending on which associate you are assisted by. read more

Biggest Macy's I have seen in Arizona yet. Closest thing to one in NYC. The first Macy's in AZ that I actually sort of like cause it has more than just conservative styles. More urban stuff is sold here and I dig that. I'll be coming here again soon. read more
