Highly recommend! We will definitely be back!We had a wonderful dinner here! The ambiance was fantastic, and the service was top-notch--Ramon was absolutely wonderful!Honestly, almost everything we ordered was delicious. The real stars of the night were the Wild Mushroom Pasta, the Steak, and the Poke Salmon! For starters, the flavor of the calamari was great, though I do wish the portion had more actual calamari rather than being padded out with peppers and lemon slices--it felt a bit pricey for the amount of seafood we got. The only real miss for us was the jalapeño poppers, which were very dry, but that was just our mistake in ordering.Overall, we enjoyed the food so much and had a great time. We will absolutely be back!

This was a very dog friendly place for dinner, they brought Bella a water dish and chopped chicken. The service was top notch and the human food was really good, farm to table quality. Our experience to find a doggie friendly place didn't mean we had to compromise on food or quality. The outdoor patio was private and cozy, it's worth a visit with or without your pup!

Took my friend here for her birthday and it was so fun! I always love Solvang but have never been here and it didn't disappoint. Not pictured but also enjoyed was the Pomegranate Spritz and Pineapple Mezcalita. The wooden chairs aren't the most comfortable but I didn't mind as much when everything else was so nice. I like the dim lighting and the wall of windows. It gave very comfy atmosphere. The waitress was very knowledgeable and attentive.

The restaurant interior is really nice! The food could be better, nothing special. Went right when restaurant opened at 5pm since it was Saturday and restaurant week, seated right away. Went for the restaurant week option which is 3 course menu: salad Santa ynez burger, and dessert ($30). Super awesome deal since the burger itself is $26. After we got our salad, there's a bit of wait for food. I didn't mind since I was nibbling on the pita bread with sun-dried tomato chipotle sauce. Hamburger was large, the sesame bun was delicious. I think the meat blend could be a bit better, I got medium and is somewhat dry. Got large fatty chunks, so if the fatty chunks can be blended more together. The fries in duck fat were awesome. Overall, good vibes and food was alright.

For sharing. Fried calamari (5/5), duck fat fries (5/5), ceviche with chips (4/5)

This is a lovely restaurant and bar located inside The Landsby hotel. We met our friends by the bar and ordered some cocktails to start the night. I had the Pear Pressure which was amazing since I love rum pear is underrated. The Blood Orange Sour was also very good (whiskey) and Heatwave (tequila, mango) nice too. I also tried the Sage and Sol, and overall they're all delicious. Kudos to the bartender for these incredible concoctions. For sharing we went all out and got Duck Fat Fries, Santa Barbara Ceviche, Calamari Fritto Misto (5/5!) and Brussels sprouts to start. For the entree we ordered the Ora King Salmon and Pinot Noir Braised Short Rib because wine country. The food overall was very good but the salmon was out of this world. The pearl pasta well seasoned, the fish moist and perfectly cooked, and a lemon butter sauce it's something I still think about today. I also recommend the short rib if you want a heartier meal as it was so tender you could cut it with a fork. That and the mash potatoes will put you to sleep. Service was attentive and the wait staff checked on us at just the right times and intervals. The vibe was great and cozy, definitely would come back.

Someone recommended this place but had sights on going to Peasants Feast. Well Peasants Feast closes at 6 pm.... ON A FRIDAY night!!! Solvang was crawling with people. Why close at 6. Oh well. Their loss our gain because Mad & Vin was outstanding all around. Beautiful interior and great servers. The bar area feels and looks upscale but has a locals vibe pouring good drinks. The restaurant as well looks like someplace you dress up to go to but isn't that at all. Staff was super friendly and attentive. The food off the chain. The special lamb shank left us speechless. A must to stop when in Solvang either for a cocktail at the bar or a romantic dinner.

We had such a good dinner here. We were in town for the weekend, and our airbnb host recommended this place for dinner. Luckily, we were able to snag a reservation the day of, and they seated us at a nice spacious table in the middle of the dining room after a short wait while they set the table up. The restaurant is inside the hotel, so we just hung out in the lobby to wait. As for food...we got: - Farmer's Salad - really fresh and very good. - Short ribs on mashed potato - solid. but honestly sort of paled in comparison to.... - the stuffed poblano. Oh my god this was amazing. It's vegetarian and was stuffed with wild rice and mushrooms and topped with some sort of amazing sauce, fried chickpeas, peanuts, and probably other deliciousness that I can't remember, but my heart will never forget this dish! It has the slightest kick to it, and is just so so so good. Highly highly recommend. I also got a non-alky beer (Stella), and we got some teas. Our server was George and he's great! Street parking, not an issue on a Friday night. It's a nice walk down the street too, with everything lit up and sparkling nicely. Bathrooms are gendered and multi-stalled.

Mad & Vin is a decent pick in Solvang, especially for large group private dining. We booked the private room for 15 and it was perfect -- plenty of space, great energy, and the service handled our sprawling brunch order of shareables, cocktails, and entrees without missing a beat. My espresso martini was good, but the food was forgettable. The fried chicken sandwich was a miss and I left most of the bread on the plate.

I really really enjoyed this place. We made a reservation for an outside table since we were dining with our pup Fergus. The setting was lovely and the weather was perfect. Service was prompt and efficient. We decided to share the ceaser salad and the steak frites. It turned out to be plenty of food. The salad was plenty for two and it was well dressed and yummy. The steak came with seasoned butter, amazingly crispy duck fat truffle fries and plenty of tasty grilled veggies (mostly peppers). Everything was so good and prices were not bad. I definitely recommend this place. They even give you complementary bread with dip!!

Great food and ambiance sitting outside on the patio with the fire on the table. The food was delicious and flavorful. We love getting a couple different tapas to try a variety and the pizza was really good.

After walking in and passing the host stand, a server who was seated at the bar got up, walked us to a table, and suggested we sit on the loveseat. The host was friendly and welcoming, and the space itself seemed promising. We were excited to settle in, have a drink, and check the place out. The restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived, but shortly after we were seated, a larger group came in. From that point on, it felt like we were completely forgotten. The server focused on the larger party, taking drink orders and delivering beverages as more guests from their group arrived. Meanwhile, we sat waiting without any acknowledgment. Another group of ladies was seated nearby and appeared just as confused about who was helping them. We both work in the restaurant industry, so we understand that larger parties can demand attention and that things don't always go perfectly. We tried to be patient and give the team the benefit of the doubt. However, after waiting more than 15 minutes without anyone checking on us, taking a drink order, or even acknowledging our table, we decided to leave. What made the experience especially frustrating was that the restaurant wasn't busy when we arrived. We never felt welcomed beyond being shown to our table, and ultimately it felt like our business wasn't valued. Hopefully this was just an off night, because the atmosphere and concept seemed like something we would have enjoyed. We'd be willing to give it another chance, but first impressions matter, and unfortunately this one missed the mark. Sadly, it looks like we definitely missed out on the famous Bowl for Two.

Crust was done beautifully, spice was apparent, but played a small role in comparison to the butter and perfect sweetness of the cornbread. I've had cornbread from the South; I think this is the best cornbread I've ever had. Whoever makes the cornbread should be praised heavily and possibly have a statue built for them. Meat was cooked very well. Brisket and Chicken were exceptionally good and should be the main priority due to their tenderness and flavor. However, the ribs were okay at best, a little chewy not really what you would expect from a place like this. Pulled pork was automatically covered in Carolina Gold which was a little questionable, but the texture and the quality of the meat were very good. Sides were exceptionally good as well. The mac and cheese, fries, potatoes, and slaw were pretty freakin sweet I'd say. They compliment the entrées pretty well. Please provide more options of sauce OR do not put the carolina gold on the pulled pork. Service was alright at most, nothing really special. The busser's checked up on us more than the actual servers. If you need accommodations they're happy to provide and do so in an efficient manner. It seemed like the service was mainly reactive rather than proactive. Kelly seemed more focused on catering to a small group of guys in cowboy hats than maintaining the vibe that actually makes this spot stand out. Instead of reading the room, she and her May 1st bartender colleague locked into a single stream of country music that clearly wasn't resonating with most of the crowd. That's really the frustrating part, it wasn't just a music choice, it was the complete lack of awareness or willingness to adjust. People weren't being heard, requests were ignored, and the whole "records" concept felt pointless when it was treated so rigidly. If you're going to lean into vinyl as part of the experience, it should feel curated, responsive, and a little bit special, not like someone just putting on their personal playlist and tuning everyone else out. The drinks were genuinely great, which makes the situation even more disappointing. The potential is clearly there, but the execution on the atmosphere just didn't match. If the records are going to stay, they should actually be used to enhance the environment, not limit it. Otherwise, it might be better to ditch the gimmick entirely rather than let it drag down what could be an otherwise standout spot.

Since our table wasn't quite ready, they invited us to grab a drink at the attached bar while we waited. This review is specifically about the bar. I was surprised that the bar at a Michelin-starred restaurant didn't have a blender, as it seemed to limit the cocktail options available to guests. My husband's friend asked for a lemon martini and then inquired about a lemon daiquiri. The response from the bartender, Monica, made the request seem unusual or overly complicated, which made the interaction feel less welcoming than expected. I'm sorry but Monica could sure use some tips on customer service and professionalism. I watched this interaction from where I was sitting nearby and it was cringy. If certain cocktails can't be prepared because of equipment or menu limitations, that's completely understandable. However, it would be helpful if those limitations were communicated in a more guest-friendly way and accompanied by alternative recommendations. At a restaurant of this caliber, I'd expect the bar experience to reflect the same level of hospitality as the dining room. Once we were seated, the dining room staff was attentive, welcoming, and accommodating, and the rest of our evening was enjoyable.

We started with Bloody Marys, which were insanely good. They were out of the Verde, but the bartender improvised and made us something even better. It came with what might be the best bacon I've ever had, which is a bold claim but I stand by it. He even came out to check on us and talk through what he was testing. We loved them. We ordered the deviled eggs with trout roe, which were to die for. Highly recommend. Then we split the breakfast sandwich. They divided it in the kitchen and brought it out with two side salads, which is always such a nice touch. Service was incredible, the atmosphere was lovely, and the whole thing felt a little indulgent in the best way. Exactly what you want on a beautiful spring day in Santa Ynez. Would absolutely go back.

We had great cocktails, made at the gorgeous bar in the next room. Two couples, and we each split our orders and they plated everything separated for us, which was wonderful! Started with cold oysters, Caesar salad (sprinkled with smoked paprika, which was a cool enhancement.) We couldn't resist trying the soup of the day, which was a corn chowder. Each couple split a cup and it was incredible! Then had the Santa Maria tri-tip with chimichurri and duck fat fries. The steak was perfectly cooked, and the fries were also. Our server, Ernesto, could not have been nicer. Definitely a recommended restaurant, and we all said we would return the next time we are up in Santa Ynez.

Savory and one of the best scones I've ever had! Didn't even need the sweet butter that came with it. We had the crab beignets for an appetizer. Very nice and light, fresh crab just missing a some salt. My fiancé ordered the burger with their version of fries and I had the scallops pasta. My fresh scallops were perfectly seared and paired with the beautifully blanched veggies and pasta. All fantastic, just missing a little salt. Burger was really well made and so were their fries. Service was ok, a little hands off for such a slow night. Well decorated inside and out with lots of plants. The whole place is dreamy!

Our party was warmly greeted upon arrival and made to feel completely at home throughout the evening. The cuisine was very good, and the overall dining experience was thoughtfully executed. One minor note would be that one of the pasta dishes could have been drained slightly more prior to plating. Otherwise, the meal was excellent. I would gladly recommend this restaurant to others seeking a warm, inviting atmosphere paired with attentive service and excellent food.
