    Buffalo chicken pizza

Food was really delicious, the location is great I love the views of the river outside. The bartender was very helpful! We've always gone for a drink there and this was the first time eating. Didn't disappoint!

Went for the grand re-opening after a complete restoration of the building after major damage from 27 feet of flood water from Hurricane Helene. The place was packed to the walls, which was great to see. We had a couple of their craft beers (the Dark, Dark, Dark Stout and the Robust Porter). Both were excellent. The stout had a deep, rich taste without any bitterness. The porter also lived up to its name with a strong but smooth flavor, silky on the palette. The beers went well with our pizzas: the buffalo chicken (very nice sauce & blue cheese crumbles) and the white pizza (great mix of ingredients and the whole roasted garlic pieces really topped it off). The hand-tossed crust here is primo. Well worth a visit if you are in historic downtown Marshall, NC.

Heroes wall for those who helped the brewery recover from the hurricane. Behind the fan is the black mark showing how high the water was.

Excellent spot in downtown Marshall. We parked across the street and enjoyed a New England IPA and their pilsner as we sat outside and enjoyed the river view. Their wood-fired oven pizza is delicious! We tried the one with carmelized onions and arugula and took home one of the meat pizzas. Friendly service and amazing to see how they've recovered from the hurricane. Would definitely go again.

Good pizza. Good beer. Doggie friendly. Kid friendly. Would definitely return if we were ever in the area again.

My wife and I came here for our first wedding anniversary. We were in town for a cousins wedding and decided to try this place for lunch. It was amazing pizza and great beer. We had a good view of the river as we ate. And I must add Great Music!!

Absolutely love this place. The staff were amazing and friendly. You cannot beat the creek view. The beer was yummy and I'm not a beer drinker. The food was pretty good, too. The hamburger patties were way larger than the buns which we thought was funny; yet tasty. Kids mac and cheese is Kraft's, maybe? Out little one devoured it. Our buffalo chicken tacos were AWESOME. We will be making several trips here during our visit.

Brew their own beer with a few guest taps.

Our friends have been coming to Mad Co since they moved to Asheville area. They brought us here on a Monday night in the middle of winter. The place was hopping and the fig and caramelized onion pizza was delicious. Enjoyed the lager and the Coffee stout. Place is worthy of Asheville brew pub scene. Can't wait to come back and have the pizza on the back deck overlooking the river. Very Dog Friendly!!!!!!!

We tried the American Slammer with sweet potato fries and the Patty Melt with the regular fries. Both were cooked a perfect medium and were delicious. It consisted of a layer of carrot cake, a layer of cheesecake icing, a layer of carrot cake, another layer of cheesecake icing, and topped crumbled carrot cake, served with a dollop of whipped cream. The staff was friend and provided vey good service. This restaurant is located in an old prison which adds an additional layer of intrigue to your experience.

There are even alcohol-free beers. And other soft drinks. So your designated driver won't feel too deprived. The noise level is quite high in the tap room. Weather permitting there is outside seating, but the menu outside is limited. There is preferred parking near the entrance for zero or low emission vehicles. Unfortunately, the electric vehicle charging ports are no longer in this location. The parking staff said the chargers are in a remote parking area. Never did find them, but fortunately did not need them. We arrived on Sunday around 1 pm and there was no wait. They do activate a waiting list when needed that you can get on as you drive there. Very few reservations are available. Maybe for large groups. But don't worry, they have a lot of seating and the tables turn over readily.

We came on a Tuesday afternoon after hitting a couple breweries in the Mills River area . The area that the taproom in is really beautiful with mature trees and it's a huge facility . We parked and walked inside and headed to the bar. I got a flight and my boyfriend got an IPA. I thought the beers were really good and I liked that there was some that you couldn't find anywhere else . We also ordered some duck fries that were so dang good . As we waited for our food , we went to do a self tour of the brewery and that was great to see the history of Sierra Nevada and the different rooms that the processing occurred in. After our food we cashed out and took the remainder of our beers to their outdoor area . Once you pass by their amphitheater you went down this trail towards a little river and we went farther still and there was this whole field of yard games and tables that you could sit and enjoy right next to the rushing river (French Broad River) . All the staff that we encountered with was very nice and knowledgeable. Just a really fun atmosphere to be in where even the staff looked like they were enjoying themselves . I would highly highly recommend stopping in!

At the time we didn't realize that Roberta Flack was born in Black Mountain and the mural on the side of the historic building was in fact Roberta! When you step inside it is cozy and comfortable but we could see there was a large outdoor space as well. I stopped in at the counter and decided to order a pint of their Hazy IPA. We wandered to the outdoor space which is two levels, we explored the upstairs area first since there was a thunderstorm we thought it would be cool to watch the rain and lightning while sipping on a cold beer. We also learned there was a food trailer at the back of the property, which looks to be a permanent resident. They offer items such as pulled pork, poutine, brisket, and more. We ended up chatting with other customers and had a really enjoyable afternoon. We enjoyed our time at Black Mountain Brewing and will absolutely be back!

The first cool thing about this brewery is that it taught me that Roberta was from NC, which I did not know. So, we decided to go and immediately it took be back to the golden era of small breweries. I loved the atmosphere here, again it took me back to when craft beer was a community, and not an industry as it is today. I had a flight with the steam beer, pale ale, West Coast IPA, and barleywine. Everything was on point and very well made. My friend had the American Lager and we also tried the Czech-style lager, which ended up being my favorite. A huge plus and thank you to our bartender who brought us delicious, in-house freshly-made pork rinds! If I lived in the area, this would be my Cheers.

Once they opened we went right for the bar to order as it was getting busy with people already on a Tuesday morning! I ordered a flight and my boyfriend had a beer. The server was a little cold. Not necessarily unfriendly just a little curt which was fine maybe she was having a bad day. But I got a pre selected flight and she had me take a picture of the flight list so I knew which beer was which. Idk a lot of other breweries would have wrote it down but a picture works too. We sat outside on their covered patio and watched the river. It started to get really nice out so after that we sat at their turf area and chilled until we were done. We spent a good hour here and just really liked the vibe outside . People had their dogs so we were so watching and in generally very friendly . I took a picture beneath the sign with the bicycles. You can see that on a weekend this place would get crazy busy so it was nice for us to just relax and take in the atmosphere without it getting so crowded. Anyone who is in Asheville should check this place out.
