I've been to other MFCs: Sunnyside, Astoria and Plainview, now a few times. This one is the cleanest and has the most attentive staff. My husband really loves the scallion chicken and I love the nachos! They have classic dishes like japchae and they don't skimp on the meat! The warm atmosphere also makes it easy for friends, family and coworkers! The rice bowls are still very solid. Took the opportunity to try MFC on my day off as I had a hankering for Korean Fried Chicken. Despite it's location in a strip mall off of Old Country Road next to a rug store and a karate dojo, it looked like a nice bar and meetup spot. Given that I ordered ahead early on a weekday afternoon the place was mostly empty, and wait was no issue. I decided to try the fried dumplings and Mad Tenders with parmesan truffle fries. The dumplings contain a combination of beef pork and vegetable filling. They tasted good (I do wish they offered soy sauce for them), but they had an issue; one shared by the chicken and the fries as well. Everything was very dry. The tenders didn't really look anything like the photo on their website, more resembling small boneless wings. I believe I did get more than the 5 I ordered, so portion size is not a concern, but the crux of my issue was dry it all was. The flavor of the skin and the soy garlic sauce they brush the chicken with was good, along with the truffle fries, but there seems to have been something off about the preparation causing everything to be sapped of any moisture. Despite the disappointing outcome, I would definitely be willing to give MFC another shot in the future, granted that the Plainview store is a tad out of my way and I will likely wait for the completion of their Carle Place location. read more
