Service was good and Mac n cheese was good.. that's the 1 star. Chicken was the worst thing I've ever had in my life. Instant food poisoning is currently on the toilet now. I knew when I was eating the chicken something was off. Overly deep fried where it feels the deep fry went through to the bone. Spicy sauce is verrry hot and I'm ok with that. Familiar with Mad for Chicken in Bayside, Auberdale, and East Meadow. Ordered the soy chicken wings for pickup recently and was surprised they got it done in 15 mins as opposed to the usual ~30 mins. The flavor is right, however the chicken wings isn't as crispy as the other locations. Some parts of it was actually soggy, which is a surprise to me as I've never had soggy wings from the other locations. It usually stays crispy even if it's been sitting out for awhile. I'll probably give them a 3rd try since it's close to home for me. read more

We just heard from a friend that they have an amazing chicken. Being Korean food lovers, dropped by right away. The place is very esthetic, very clean and very friendly. Ordered fried chicken half spicy and half not. Thighs and drumsticks. The best chicken north of So.Carolina. Huge pieces without mounds of fat or batter. Comes with different sauce. I've been Ordering from here for a couple of months now. Love the Mad Tenders At first they were nice sized but everytime I go the pieces get smaller and smaller. Finally a Korean Fried Chicken place on long island! No more driving in traffic into Queens which is a PITA sometimes. Their chicken is fresh, crispy and flavorful. They do have menu items that are not chicken and I hope they expand their selection a bit have more Korean food. Tonight we tried Mad for Chicken in Plainview. The food was sooo good. The soy garlic fried chicken has a wonderful flavor. The batter on the chicken is nice and thin. It was also very tender and not overly battered to make you feel full right away. The truffle fries are flavorful and crispy. The chicken bowl with the glass noodles was wonderful as well. ordered chicken tenders. they were anything but tender. sort of leathery tough and thin. the sauce thin and mild flavor. the red onions were so potent and pungent they overpowered the dish. i took home left overs my car still smells of red onion. i was not impressed and not going back. loud dining room, horrible music and too loud. are you a restaurant or a bar? i don't think they are a family place by the musical choices. read more

This review is long overdue. I first started going to Mad for Chicken Plainview around March of 2023 first for take out and subsequently for dine-in. The food has always been consistent and excellent what tops everything off is the exceptional hospitality and service displayed by all the employees and especially the owner Mike. We have been back again and again, at least a few times each month. Mike always greets my family and I with warmth and generosity. We almost always ask for Hayato to be our server whenever he is working. Trust me you can't go wrong with any server at this location but Hayato always goes above and beyond our expectations. The decor and ambiance is great if you just want to hang out and watch a game at the long bar or dine with family and friends. They tend to get busy on weekends so reserving a table is highly recommended. Yesterday, we took advantage of the great weather and sat outside in their new beer garden, highly recommend weather permitting. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, we always get the combo wings and drumsticks, combo drumsticks and thighs, quesadillas, jap chae, bugolgi over rice, the mad nachos (YUM!) and lastly the green scallion tendetThere are other MFC locations that are closer to me, Bayside, Flushing, East Meadows, but I only keep coming back to the Plainview location for all the reasons stated above. read more

Came here last night for the first time. I was absolutely blown away at how amazing this place was. First off Ill start with the ambiance. Perfect lighting, set up, and good music that wasn't too loud. You're able to talk to friends and family and relay your order to staff without screaming. Next is the food. It was my first time trying Korean fried chicken and it will not be my last. Food was absolutely delicious. The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The sauces were perfection, and the spicy option wasn't too overwhelming. I Also had soju for the first time and it was very smooth and delicious. Not too sweet and not too harsh. Last but not least is the service. Some of the greatest down to earth staff I've ever met. Everyone was welcoming and helpful. We met the owner as well and he definitely took care of us. You can tell that he's a good boss cause he cares about his workers and most importantly his customers. I highly recommend this place for food, drinks, and to simply have a good time! read more

Wish I could give this place 3.5 stars but I decided to round it up for the great service I received on both of the visits I made to this location. I'm happy that more locations are appearing across long island, but none of them compare to the flushing location. The parmesan truffle fries were just as delicious as I expected them to be, but the soy garlic wings were a little dry and didn't have as much of the glaze as I'm used to (parts of the wings didn't have any glaze at all) so the flavor was a little lacking. The food here is very average, but what makes it worse is the customer service especially the manager. I was trying to eat this very mediocre meal when the manager starts yelling at one of his poor employees who seemed like he was doing his job in front of us. To make things worse the manager was DRUNK. How does one run a restaurant intoxicated??? God knows if he was spitting in people's food in the kitchen. The family next to us seemed very uncomfortable too. I asked one of the employees if he's usually like this and she said yes he normally drinks on the job. Just got the Chicken Tenders and an order of wings (Both spicy)- and it was delicious. Spice level was on par with Flushing and Bayside locations. Their chicken tenders were actually better than the Queens locations, as the pieces were thicker and extremely moist. Location appears to only offer take out at this time. Great job and a great addition to the area. For those who have a lower spice tolerance- the soy garlic is an option. read more

Just wanna say that it's so crazy people making fake accounts to write bad reviews hoping it crushes this plainview location. As one of the loyal customers there I promise you this is the best place to eat in all of plainview by far. The chicken takes so long cause it's actually not going to give you stomach problems. "Why does an order take 40 mins?" I don't know people maybe because it's chicken? Also I'm seeing some crazy posts about the staff not being nice or well trained. Everyone there is amazing and treats you just fine. This place is a 5/5 easily. Great place to bring your family or even a vibe to just go in alone. Huge fan of this spot. The owner is a great guy as well. I spoke to him about the renovations he did to the building. He put in all new pipes and everything. The water tastes fresh and so does the food. I placed a take-out order for soy garlic wings and they advised me of the 20 wait and that they would text me when the order was ready. During the wait, we shopped elsewhere and never received a text. The hostess did advise me of the wait so I just thought they may have been busy and my order was still in the works. At the 30 minute mark, I return to ask about my order. It is a different hostess this time and I did not see the previous person around. This new person said that I should have received a text as my order had been ready and was just sitting there. She said she doesn't know what happened. I suspect they took down an incorrect number. In any case, the chicken was expensive and the flavor was disappointing. The wings didn't have much soy garlic sauce on it and tasted almost plain. Not worth it for the price. They did seem to have a nice ambiance in the restaurant which would be conducive for gathering with friends, in which case mediocre food would suffice.
