The food is good but the service is so bad that it dampers the whole meal. We normally don't care much about service but we repeatedly had to ask for things to a point where it became cumbersome. For example we had to ask for plates, utensils, wasabi and ginger from the get go - our food came and we didn't have any of those things. Normally those are on the table already. read more

A while ago, my friends and I visited a $30+ Japanese buffet restaurant in Dublin, and I was truly amazed by the variety and quality! They offer tons of hand-pressed nigiri sushi, a wide selection of sushi rolls, udon, ramen, curry, fried chicken, and more. If you're heading to the outlets nearby, definitely check this place out and enjoy an all-you-can-eat feast! Here are some of my personal favorites: Restaurant: Mad for Sushi Address: 7222 Regional St, Dublin, CA 94568 Nigiri - The rice portions for each nigiri are quite small, which means you can try lots of different flavors without feeling overwhelmed. The four of us could order 20 pieces each round, so we basically tried every nigiri on the menu. My favorites were the scallop, tamago, and salmon series. I'm not a big fan of tuna, though. Special Rolls - Most of the menu consists of special rolls, and the portions are generous and very filling, so you don't need to order too many. I recommend the Lion King roll, which is a baked sushi roll filled with imitation crab meat and topped with avocado--pure indulgence! Appetizers - There are lots of small bites to choose from. I personally loved the fried shrimp, grilled beef, two kinds of fried chicken, seaweed salad, and udon! The portions aren't too big, so you can try many different things and enjoy a great variety. This is our 4th time here but will probably be our last. Our other 3 visits were great but today...it was extremely disappointing. 1 - the sushi chef left a strand of his hair in my ebi 2 - we have two young children and every time we would order them the sushi rice with seaweed roll, but this time the sushi chef refused to accommodate us 3 - there's a longer wait than usual between placing the order and when the food finally arrives. The restaurant was not busy today. 4 - they missed/forgot a number of our orders and we had to reorder them In summary, today's experience was not as enjoyable as expected. The only positive is Jaycee and Brandon, they are always friendly, personable and consistent. Food was great here. A few things didn't go as expected since there was a wait on Saturday, we were skipped even though we were right outside the restaurant waiting. We had to ask them if it was our turn and they said, "oops, we skipped you". So that wasn't great, the ordering was quick, but food took forever. Expect a 20 minute wait in between rounds, but I will say the nigiri looked and tasted great. Been wanting to try out this place for a while and it was great. First off was the service, they were attentive and you could always flag someone down to take your order. The bus service was consistent as well by retrieving plates and refilling drinks. The Sushi was fresh and sized well, the nigiri had more fish than rice, rolls were good - you could order a half size roll order so you could try different types. The Appetizers were ok although, you go there for the sushi. Overall, it was a good meal with good service, only knock was the price - but you pay for quality so that's what you get here. read more

You must order the mushroom poppers -- I even added two servings! They are mushrooms stuffed with cream cheese, packed with crab meat on the outside, and deep-fried to a crispy texture. The flavors are incredibly rich. The cucumber salad and seaweed salad come in small portions, which are super refreshing and help balance out the richer dishes. A great all new AYCE sushi spot! There's not many AYCE sushi in the bay/east bay and I'm always happy to find new spots popping up. My bf and I tried this place, we drove all the way to Dublin after we were recommended. Lunch is $37 and dinner $45. Everything we tried was actually delish so we went up to like 4 rounds when usually we would tap out around the 2nd. Although the place is new, they have a nice system going and service wise they servers are all nice and informative. One thing I appreciate is they offer half rolls when ordering so we got to try more rolls from the menu which are really good. Definitely check them out, we thoroughly enjoyed everything and would drive back just to eat. read more

Mad for sushi or Mad at sushi? The manager there during our visit surely did not have a great attitude. He demeanor was clearly irritated and it showed everyone dining in that they were not fully welcomed. Maybe he was just having a bad day? My toddler accidentally spilled a glass of water and while the waitress was patient to clean it. The manager immediately felt that it was necessary to have a teaching moment on how to clean up a wet table right infront of guests. The condescending tone could've have been avoided and staff could've been treated better with more dignity had you just asked them to step aside afterwards and show them the process privately rather than criticize their actions directly infront of customers. The food was good and quick. We witnessed a few orders delivered to the wrong table. Turns out that a neighboring table was missing some rolls and somehow we ended up with double. But since its AYCE, they just ordered again. One disappointment is that some premium items have additional charges. It would be nice to perhaps allow 1 round included with the AYCE price just to try it out and additional premium orders to be charged similar to how some others limit 1 order qty. Not so good: sushi slices were too thin, rice was average and try not to sauce up the nigiri unless you are trying to mask the freshness. Food was fine but the manager is extremely rude and ruined my dinner experience. They have silly rules that are not written down any place. I asked for my 2 orders of nigiri on a separate plate from my son's order as he has an allergy to the sauce. instead of saying no, they took my order and the. the angry manager emerged from the kitchen and lectured me saying that was not allowed and telling me that I was very very wasteful asking for a separate plate. He told me I could order it in a different "round"and then refused to let me do so. It takes the same number of plates either way you order (same time or 2 different times). Very rude for no reason. I would suggest going someplace else where they do not attack you for not ordering to their un written rules. In addition the restaurant was half empty and they required me to enter my info to make a reservation using yelp before they would seat me. again the place was half empty and they seated me at a table that had no space for me to pull my chair out as the next table needed space to hold a baby on their lap. We worked it out but it was not necessary with so many open tables. I should also mention that I went to the restroom which is in an awkward place with a service door that overlaps where ther restroom door is. an employee smacked me with the door when I was exiting the restroom. The sushi was ok. I've eaten sushi all over and especially in Japan. The key to good sushi is the rice and this rice had no flavor. The sushi was very small pcs and they just had no flavor. On the specialty rolls you could only eat one at per order and for some fish they had an adder price. It was $54.00 for all you can eat, a beer and tax and tip for one person. Not a great value. Drove past this place last night and saw the all you can eat sign which caught my mom's eyes. We came in at 8pm and got sat right away. This place was big and very clean and nice. The menu was straightforward all you can you or can do Al a carte on the rolls. We started with hot tea! The first thing that came out was the yellow tail nigiri I appreciate the amount of rice to fish ratio! Chefs kiss! The Uni was so fresh buttery and creamy. I do recommend the baked mussels! Ordered it 4 times. The rolls are pretty big and I was surprised between two of us we finished 6 rolls and a bunch of apps and nigiri's! Sadly they were out of the oysters but next time we come I hope we get to try them! The lion king and Baddie rolls are my top rolls we tried. We will definitely be back next time! First, to the boss, the waitresses, and the customers at this restaurant, I swear I will do and say nothing wrong. If I lie, I will go to hell immediately and have a car accident right away. It's ridiculous to stay in this restaurant. On May 29, 2025, at 12:45 p.m., my brother and I arrived at the restaurant. Initially, I stood in the reception area and waited for the waitresses to serve me. A young caucasian waitress with red hair came and nicely told me to wait 10 minutes. At that moment, I saw that there were at least five tables available to be seated, but I chose to wait because I understood that the waitresses might be busy. At 1 pm, I had waited over 10 minutes, and there were more clean tables because some customers had finished their lunch and left. I decided to ask the waitresses again. The second waitress, a young Asian girl(more sincere compared to the other girl), told me to wait 5 mins. I mentioned I had waited over 10 minutes. She asked me how long the first waitress told me to wait. I repeated "10 minutes." Then, she immediately set up a table for my brother and me. We chose AYCE lunch for $37.99 per person (90 minutes). From 1 pm to 1:30 pm, including ordering (p.s., I placed my order quickly), we received a small bowl of sashimi salad and a small bowl of miso soup. As soon as they handed us food, I always appreciated them. I promised it was not as busy as the two waitresses described. They could even talk to sushi helpers, customers, and their boss or manager. Finally, I stood up and told the Caucasian waitress that I had decided to leave, but I would pay for the miso soup and the sashimi salad. The first time, this waitress was too nervous to charge me over $80 (AYCE for 2 people). I mentioned to her again that I hadn't eaten any sushi. Then, she charged me around $50 and told me the kitchen had already prepared my sushi (two orders of sushi). I told her to pack the food for me. She made me disappointed again. She told me they would pack for me soon, but I had still waited over 5 minutes. When I was waiting for my take-out order, I signed $5 as a tip, even though I disliked their excuses, "We are busy," "We just have two people now," and they did not work as quickly as they had described. A middle-aged Asian man looked like a manager or boss, even shook his head in the sushi-making area to make me feel like "I am completely speechless to this lady". They even had enough time to deliver other orders to other customers. And the to-go orders looked messed up when the Caucasian waitress (so tricky) handed them to me. It was immediately apparent that they had not even started processing my order after I made the payment. read more

The food was amazing, but the service wasn't that good from my experience. Once I got seated and received my 1st order, I wasnt checked up on compared to everyone else at the restaurant. I had to raise my hand every single time to put in a new order for the AYCE menu and call out for a waitress/waiter my self. I was also seated right at the entrance next to the cash register so it's not that hard to forget about me, especially when all of the waiters are walking towards that area. The waitresses and waiters weren't conversational with me and didn't have a good attitude compared to the other customers that they were interacting with. I definitely won't be coming back again. Hopefully things change and people who dine in solo won't have to experience the what I experienced. read more
