When I moved to Cincinnati, I decided I'd only patronize local coffee shops and I've held true to that until recently. Thanks to my spawn, who sometimes decides to wake me up a thousand times in one night, I've occasionally taken the easy way out, rolling through the Sbucks drive-thru. I came here for a cup of coffee and wasn't really blown away. The coffee itself was okay - I had a dark blend and one of the house blends. I ordered a cafe au lait, chose my coffee, then they topped it off with milk for me. I did like how they had free pastry samples out (can't say no to that!). I also saw that they have a $5 breakfast and coffee deal, which would be nice for those passing it on their way to work. The guy working who seemed to perhaps be the Big Kahuna running the show was very nice. My husband stopped on the way home the other day and got us coffee and muffins to try the place out. We are excited to have a new coffee place so close. He said there was some confusion with the order he placed but with a new staff and new business that is understandable. The cold brew coffee he got us was delicious, as were the huge muffins that they warmed up for us. We can't wait to go back and try more delicious things! read more

This is a cute little locally owned coffee shop in my neighborhood. Don't expect too much out of their coffee except the caffeine buzz. It's cool that they have a drive through; it makes it convenient to get a quick cup of coffee, but this is not a destination coffee place. I had a strawberry muffin today that tasted like yellow cake.. and it had ONE strawberry piece in it. I also tried the chai latte, which I had to dump out because it was so watered down. But, like I said, a good quick place for a convenient caffeine fix. I won't be going out of my way to visit this place again. read more

Their specialty coffee drinks are seriously the best! I don't get fancy drinks often but when I do, I go to Mad Llama. Their coffee beans are excellent for make your own at home! Every time I go here I am impressed by the menu and staff. I've ordered several different types of food from muffins to bagels to pumpkin bread and everything is delicious. Stopped here on my way to Mason, Ohio. We were looking for a bathroom for a quick stop. But no place had one. The employees here were nice enough to let us use their employee bathroom. Businesses should set their closing time a good one hour before they are letting off their employees, so that the employees are not in such a rush around the closing time, that they end up providing poor service. A customer who shows up 10 minutes before closing time is paying exactly the same price as one who goes to the business at the middle of the day, so why should s/he accept inferior service. This is exactly what happened to me. I was there 10 minutes before closing time, and I remarked on that. I did not ask for anything exotic, but I was told that they have already switched off their ovens for the day. The vibe that I got was that I am not wanted there at all, and how could I have the impertinence to show up so late! Well, I won't show up ever again, or recommend this place to anyone else. read more

New coffee shop in Madisonville. Service was normal. People were friendly. Prices were normal for a coffee shop. They are still working out some kinks and therefore have a limited menu (although still offered a lot). There is also no seating. What's cool is they will have a drive thru and offer soft serve ice cream. I paid a lot of money (they did not want to donate for the fundraiser) to have the order wrong, and the owners to be completely rude and unwelcoming. yumm!.. I live nearby so I usually drive past this place multiple times a day. When I ride my scooter, I can smell the amazing coffee aroma and I honestly don't know how I've managed to drive by so many times without stopping. My neighbors are huge fans and recommended this place on multiple occasions. So I finally gave it a try, and I was definitely not disappointed! I ordered a simple Americano, with Stevia-type sweetener and whipped cream (I'm on a low-carb kick right now) & it was very yummy! I didn't actually go inside, I waited in the car while the hubs grabbed me a drink, but he said it was a nice clean shop and the barista was extremely friendly and helpful. I hear they have lots of fun unique beverages to try. I really enjoyed it & I'll definitely be back! :) One tip for customers: don't forget to hang onto your reusable coffee sleeve (I forgot), you can actually earn free drinks after so many uses, pretty cool! read more
