I love a good pun. All the time any time. So what can I say I love the name of their food at Madbun. We got two of the buns and the chicky minaj was probably my favorite. The chicken was crisp and the bun was incredibly. I really liked the sauce flavors. It was a bit sweet but also spicy. We also ordered the Piggy Smalls and I do love some pork belly but i think the flavor might have lacked a little but. The fries were also decent just the typical plain fries you'd find. This place is a hidden gem for real. It's located inside of 99 cravings, unlike the restaurant setting, it's more of a food court type of dining environment. The tables all have a sanitized sign, which is good during Covid. We ordered the the mad pack. Fries was ok, nothing special, but the chicken sandwich and crispy pork buns were so good and the potion is huge. I got 2 pieces of flavorful chicken inside of the buns. I recommend anything on the menu but my favorite of the buns would be the Piggy Smalls; which is a crispy pork belly with corn cheese and of course get it with their special matcha infused bun!! The real banger at the restaurant is their dessert the Ube-Yoncé, it's a matcha bun dipped in Nutella that's deep fried with Ube ice cream from Mitchell's. This place isn't bad! They offer a variety of buns with very creative names like Cardi B Bun, Chicky Minaj, etc. Each bun has a good amount not too big, not too small. Prices are fairly reasonable. My friend thought it's a good deal if you get their combo which includes 2 buns or your choice to mix n match and fries for $11. I didn't go as hungry so I only got one bun for $5. It does take them a while to make it though. The matcha buns seem white appealing but it seems to be food coloring to me since there's no matcha flavor? It's located inside newly opened Cravings Plaza, Asian Costco. It can get busy but it's pretty good and I think I'll be back to try something different read more

What a great, hidden gem! First off, know that the restaurant is inside Cravings in the food court area. I've shopped at Cravings tons of times but never ordered food. I had the chicken sandwich (big bun) which was tender and very crunchy. Among, if not the best chicken sandwich I've ever had. The bun was soft and delicious. My wife ordered two sliders, cheeseburger and hot chicken. From the first bite of the hot chicken, she just kept saying "wow!". We were in Nashville last year and tried several of the recommended hot chicken restaurants, but my wife feels this version was even better. The fries were plentiful, crunchy and very hot and the employee who took our order gave outstanding customer service. We will most definitely be back! read more

I've been here several times because it's in my vicinity, and because I love snack and grocery shopping at Cravings. I've had their chicken sandwich, and a long long time ago, their bao sliders. So previously, I had an issue with the mad hot sandwich, which was honestly more of a one time thing, because I've had good sandwiches from them multiple times. Aaron was way too cool and gave me a remade order, which was excellent. Madbun really knows how to butter someone up and treat customers nicely, I was astonished. There is a dine-in option now, and I assume if you ever do eat there, you can let them know right away if your meal was particularly unsatisfactory and they'll remedy the issue. Had I known how receptive this place was to customer satisfaction, I probably would have just made a phone call. Aaron was very humble and encouraged (constructive) criticism, you can tell he wants his business to do things right. Now about the food: the patty was sooooo moist, and nicely fried as expected, not overly bready like a Popeyes, and definitely not rubbery. The seasoning was more on point this time around. The size is balanced for the sandwich, you always get a bite of chicken with a bite of the bread and slaw. Flavor is great, it's not too peppery or too salty like some places selling chicken sandwiches. I don't feel terrible after eating it, it's a nice feeling afterwards. It has a slight kick, a bit gentle for me because I'm more used to really spicy, spicy food, but it definitely was delicious. The slaw in the sandwich complements well, it's not too wet where it ruins the bun or the patty breading. I feel like a lot of places have slaw that acts like an awkward 3rd wheel that ruins the experience, usually but messing up the texture, but no, this slaw fit right in. The sandwich comes nicely packaged in a box, and it works well for taking home on the go, it doesn't get soggy by the time I drove home (about 20-25 min). For the price, it's a great value. I only now wish there were a spice scale for the mad hot, because I would love to ramp that all the way up, but it's still a tasty, filling sandwich. [EDIT: actually, if you ask, they CAN ramp up the spice, otherwise the default is a spice level that most people can handle]. If you're not into that sort of spice, I recommend getting the Thai Sweet Chili or the Korean Hot, those are also very nice. And if you're indecisive or just want to get a feel for the different flavors, try the slider option for a little bit of each flavor at a reduced cost (either with the regular sandwich bun or the bao if that floats your boat). I've had the bao sliders with their pork belly and chicken options a while before, which are also very delish, but for those, you might want to order several if you have a larger appetite. It's a shame they no longer carry the matcha bao, maybe it's a temp thing, but it's honestly because of covid, so that's fair. I know the combo comes with a bottle/can drink, which is because of covid as well, so maybe someday when the pandemic is mostly over, we can get back to fountain drinks. I have yet to have a proper crack at their fries, so that'll be something I'll want to try another time. Maybe I'll attach photos next time, I just ate that sandwich so fast. ----------------------- Previously:: Disclaimer: this is just regarding the chicken sandwich I ordered, not the Chinese bun style meals, which are nice in of themselves. I've had this food several times, and it's nicely cooked chicken, but the sauce was non-existent when I ordered mad hot this time. I've ordered it before, and it had that nashville spice you expect from so-called "hot chicken sandwiches" trending at the moment, but this time, the sauce was not there. I just got a regular plain-jane chicken sandwich, which is nicely cooked, but I would have gone to a different restaurant had I known. I'm disappointed this time, because I've had nice sandwiches there. The color of the chicken doesn't have the hints of reddish orange, it's just the plain batter. Very disappointing. read more
