The food is as authentic as it gets, once you enter this place it's like you're in a different place.. the employees greet you with a warm smile and are there to help and guide you.. the atmosphere is so chill and laid back vibes with Spanish music played thru out the shop/restaurant. This place is a must see from the food to the candy shop. They have a bit of everything you could want in a home town Mexican market/restaurant combo.. the colors inside along with the decor transport you out of this small town to somewhere else.. parking can be a challenge getting in and out but well worth the try. Hubby and I stopped in for dinner tonight. This place is great! Restaurant, grocery and goods all in one place. We ordered mahi mahi tacos and cheese enchiladas. Each came with 3 with beans and rice. Rice was perfect!!! They have a bar with toppings and sauces. Dine in and take out options. The produce for sale was fresh. There is also a meat counter and some fried food. Tripped across their info while surfing online, so decided to visit & check them out. First impression upon entry, what a pleasant clean place staffed by the sincerely friendly people. 3 distinct areas, with the first being a combination grocery store deli restaurant with a professional kitchen in the back. fair sized menu reader board style. refrigerated meat case plus another cooler for a variety of salsas & Pico. Several racks of dry goods with a variety of dried peppers being the most notable. #2, to the left was a spacious sit-down eating area, very clean & welcoming, laced with Mexican style clothing. #3, off to the right was a room full of candy that looked right for stuffing the piñatas that were generously hanging from the ceilings. Cinco DeMayo decorations too. Too bad that we just had lunch, guess we'll have to go back for lunch on our next trip to Silverdale. I was craving authentic Tamales one evening but had no idea where to get any! The only tamales I've ever had were from Trader Joe's! I like those, but not sure how they compare to Tia or Abuela made Tamales. After a quick yelp search, I decided to try out Made in Mexico market. Yelp didn't disappoint! I ordered the Tamale Trio which came with 3 different types (poblano & cheese; chicken; an; pork) rice and beans. My mister ordered the Carnitas plate. They have a little Salsa bar which also included pickled red onions, onions and cilantro. I love love loved the tamales! Great flavor, and it was not dry at all! My favorite was the poblano and cheese. Next time I am craving tamales, I am coming back here and getting a trio of just the poblano and cheese tamales. Saw they had Corona from their pics online. Came in to buy a 25 oz can. They were redoing their prices, so no tage on the coolers. Its finally my turn and I get quoted 7.50 for the can of beer. I was shocked and didn't know what to say. I laughed quietly and left. I purchased a reasonably priced beer from across the street. (About half that price) They must only have the beer as an ornament, and replace when it spoils. There's no way they sell it at that price. Super weird. I definitely won't be returning. Outstanding service and food. Has a very good seating area. Staff is very friendly and helpful. My wife and I ordered the mahi tacos, bbq pork burrito and chicken quesadillas. Each one was very delicious especially the mahi tacos. I'm not a fish person but damn man those fish tacos were outstanding. Great people running this new Mexican grocery, candy, and counter store. Prepared tamales, grilled chicken, Mexican corn along with regular groceries and sweets sections. A bit clumsy in their checkout (still new enough to be so) but a very kind, helpful, and enthusiastic crew. He carried my bags to my car without me asking. I was grateful. Have only tasted the cup of Mexican corn so far but ordered pork and chicken tamales and the chicken prepared with mesquite. They have carnitas on Saturday and Sunday, according to the cook. I love this market! They have a little bit of everything. The elotes are my favorite! My husband hates mayonnaise and has never tried an elote in all the ten years we've been married until the one time we went in an they gave us two free elotes with our order (which was such a sweet thing to do, THANK YOU GUYS) and he loved it!!! He said you couldn't really taste the mayo. I just moved to Washington in August and have already been to Made in Mexico Market about 4-5 times and I will never stop going. Have heard of this little shop and just haven't had the chance to stop in. Today, we stopped in! We ordered tamales, and some street tacos. The gal behind counter was working hard on two different orders so we got the chance to wander about the store. There is a candy shop section, a grocery section and also a fruit/produce section. Everything looked fresh and appetizing. Once we ordered our bag was ready to go in minutes. Included were forks and plenty of napkins. Excellent service and product. read more

My wife and I finally got the opportunity to check this place out for dinner. For $19.95 we had the whole chicken dinner. The quantity of food was exceptional! We chose beans and rice for our sides and the Tomatillo salsa. As you can see from the photos it was a lot of food. The flavor of the chicken was also very good. The only negative for this meal was the chicken was waaaaay over cooked and dry. Now in their defense it was 6PM on a Thursday and we were the only customers in the place. I think the warming system didn't do this food any favors. The flavor was good enough that I will go back another day. I'm hoping it was just an off night for the chicken. read more

Been wanting to try this place for a while. Showed up around noon. Sign on the front door says we have chicken. So ordered the 1/2 chicken plate. Guess what, chicken not ready until 12:30. (Maybe put the sign up when you actually have chicken) So instead ordered beans, rice, esquite and 2 tamales. Rice was good, soft and flavorful. Beans were great, they put some peppers and chorizo in it! Very yummy! 1st tamale was cheese and chile. To much masa, not enough cheese and only saw a hint of chiles. 2nd tamale was chicken. Once again to much masa and chicken was dry and stringy. Now the esquite was awesome. So cheesy and just lit my taste buds up! Will be back to try the chicken plate, hope it will not be as dry as the chicken in the tamales. read more
