The sauce also helped - it was very well spiced, and had a slight tomato-like flavor. Mixing this with the yellow rice yielded something that was really satisfying to eat. The combination of sauce, beef, and rice was quite enjoyable, even with mixing the vegetables in for some extra crunch. The portion size of beef was crazy. When combined with the rice, the total amount of food here was solidly enough for two full meals. It is around 20 dollars for the dish, but I would classify that as a good value when you consider how much food you get. On the opposite side, I swapped the maduros out for fries. These...were not good. The fries tasted stale, hard, and not appealing at all. While the portion size was high, the appeal was not. The sauce that came with these was interesting at least. Overall, I think this is a very strong core dish at an impressive portion. Would recommend sticking with the plantains as a side though. 8.5/10

Traffic on I-5, I-90, and Rainier Ave S was merciful and I found a parking spot diagonal from their food truck. I ventured over after 12noon and was greeted by one of the owners. She was putting finishing touches on the specials whiteboard. There's their usual menu, as well as, today's featured specials. I ordered a pair of pernil empanadillas. With my order, I was given a sauce cup with cilantro aioli, which was recommended by one of the owners. I kept the takeout box open so the empanadillas would remain crisp. The tantalizing scent permeated my car. I was good and did not feast on one while driving. Once home, a brief nuke, cut it in half, first tasted the pernil on its own (amazing!), then the crust (thin & crispy), finally another bite altogether with the recommended dipping sauce. It's been a minutes since I've been here, and cruised some iconic places in West Seattle, and it wouldn't have been complete without a Two Piece Cod Fish & Chips with their signature fries. It wouldn't be complete without trying one of their shakes. It was such a beautiful day out, and we opted to sit outside and take in the scenery and people. With that being said I want to give you a little of personal background, I need to come clear here. I am Ecuadorian. So no pressure here (sarcasm) This morning I came here for breakfast, I ordered Tigrillo, Corviche and a side of yuca. That came with pickled onions (curtido), and salsa de maní this is NOT your peanut butter. You can tell that they roast the peanuts themselves, my wife felt and tasted the smokiness on the salsa! El Tigrillo and Corviche were right on the money, the Corviche was so tasteful that took me back to Ecuador to my grandmother's home in Milagro. So yes the food is good, it did its job! So my wife is happy!!! To the point that she wants to try some lunch items. I am here again, ordering the bistec bowl and the Ecuadorian sampler. I'll let you know how they taste..... The flavor in both dishes will speak to your taste buds, the seasoning of the beef is on point as the flavors on the Ecuadorian sampler, two different plates two different examples of the gastronomy of the coast of Ecuador. If you noticed that I haven't uploaded pictures of the plates I ordered, you'll be correct I didn't. These plates are prepared out of a commissary kitchen located in the Delridge neighborhood of West Seattle. 99 percent of his orders are take out, there are 4 picnic tables available. The portions and the price are also on point At the moment this is a brand new project for Nicolas so a brick and mortar space is not yet in the horizon, but the food, the flavors and the passion of this man are here for us to enjoy!
