My 5 girlfriends and I had bunched the other day. Two of us had the bloody Mary, which were delicious. Then we each ordered our own dish. I ordered their steak and eggs. The eggs were perfect, the potatoes were very salty but I ate them anyway, and the steak, which was ordered medium rare, had a portion of it that was very rare, so I didn't eat it that part. One of my friends ordered the French toast. She said it was delicious. The other gals informed me that their dish was good. I think overall, this place offers tasty food. I was the anomaly with my brunch dish. I'm okay with it. I want to come back to try the French toast. Oh, by the way, the service was wonderful. Our server was very nice and very attentive. He made sure our water bottles were constantly renewed. I appreciated him so much. I'm going to check out the dinner menu to see what they have. It's a mixed bag. Nice little Mexican place in downtown Fullerton. The decor is great, parking is rough. But it's downtown so that's not a shock. Service was competent but not friendly. Food came out fast and was decently priced. Carne asada street tacos were fantastic, the specialty tacos (short rib) were kind of bland. Lot of protein, but little flavor. This restaurant was recommended by a local friend. We came from Fort Worth to do the Disney thing and she said this was a place that had great food and service and was one of her favorites. It is now one of ours. At 630 on a Thursday evening, we were immediately greeted and seated. The staff were attentive and friendly. The food and bar drinks were outstanding. We had brisket flautas, fish and filet mignon tacos and chicken mole and all tasted great. The margaritas were excellent as well. Taco Tuesday at Madero is definitely a must try. We usually just sit up at the bar and they're pretty quick with the food and drinks. They also have a great patio for brunch or dinner and the service is always really good. Perfect for date night or a girls day or even with your family! A very cool Mexican restaurant with brick walls and long full bar. There's a large covered patio area where they'll have live entertainment on Sundays during brunch, and they have some big tables by the parking lot entrance for the large parties. The food and service is amazing. The manager even offered us a free appetizer for our group. On the weekend nights, this place comes alive with DJ's playing hip hop and reggaeton. And they always have a New Year's Eve party. It gets mad packed when the DJ's are spin'n. I love all of their Mexican fusion dishes with some including plantains. The enchiladas are made with a mole style sauce and my absolute favorite outside my own kitchen, but probably the best meal was the chorizo ravioli. In addition, the savory Birria tacos were amazing, but the filet mignon taco was just ok. They will have a rotating agua fresca flavor. This time it was horchata and it was superb! I've been coming here for brunch for 11 years, since it was Matadores. I love the steak and eggs, the breakfast burritos, the carne asada torta is perfection! The bread is spot on! It gets busy on Sundays, so I recommend reservations. They also serve brunch on Saturdays. The Pozole is awesome as well. The banquets and exposed brick walls add to the atmosphere. We decided to try this spot out in DTF which is close to where I live. Theres so many restaurants in DTF that I haven't tried. The ambiance felt a bit different to us & maybe it was more so the layout of the space. However, I will say that the booth was a nice size and it was comfortable in that sense. The menu has some great options and I went with the burrito bowl. It wasn't the best burrito bowl I've ever had but I will say the carne asada was flavorful and my food came out hot with heat! That's great! Everything was fresh. The pineapple Agua Fresca was super refreshing and delicious. The service was great - it appeared that all the staff were attentive and work as a team. I came here with my friends and family as we usually do on any festive day and was asked to leave by the host because they had a reservation! What was upsetting of the whole situation is that The host's exact verbiage "hi, we have this table reserved for a reservation so I was just wondering if you guys can..." (hesitantly stopped and used circular hand motion so I could fill in the blank) and I asked "leave?" And she said "yes! Sorry" I look over at my husband and family distraught. What kind of respectful establishment says that to a loyal customer? Then to make matters worse, we asked for our check and the waitress, who was very kind by the way, asked if everything was okay and we said "you were fantastic but we didn't appreciate being told to leave while we're still enjoying our desert and drinks." she then says , "I'm sorry about that let me get the manager" and you know what?!? He sends her back to our table and she tells me" I'm sorry it's chaotic right now but you guys can hang out if you want" as the owner is standing within 10 feet from us! When I tell how dismissed that made us feel to be denied to speak on our discomfort with the situation it was embarrassing on another level He did not even give us a courtesy apology, or an explanation like "hey guys I'm sorry we didn't communicate to that that we have a 2 hour limit" or..."we messed up by double booking" they gave us nothing! Top it off: as we're gathering our things: the table next to us ordered shots and the owner brought them out to them and we thought... "okay here comes" Nope! Just put their shots down on their table, didn't even make eye contact with us and walked right passed us. If you have a reservation for THAT specific table that should be communicated prior to us sitting down 2. If there is a time limit on table service that should ALSO be communicated prior to sitting down 3. If a guest who is consuming is asking to speak to the manager the very least a manager should do is acknowledge our concern. though the service started great, it ended by tainting anything positive we've experienced at Madero or even Matador as previously known. When I say we have been there regularly for the last 10, and my husband 15 years, I'm talking countless birthdays, mothers days, ST Patrick's, 5 de Mayos, World Cup games, baseball games etc. It was our go-to Sunday brunch spot. We were there almost every Taco Tuesday in the summer because my son loved loteria.well now we will not be returning and I will be sure to deter anyone I know from going to this establishment. read more

Great Food. You need a reservation unless you are getting take out. The kitchen and restrooms are spotless and the staff is top tier. Great with suggestions and the service has always been great. The mixed drinks are strong and yummy. Take a look at the dessert menu, not a bad choice there. On the main menu, you can get mushroom sub for any protein if you have a vegetarian in the group. My favorite is the Mole Chicken enchiladas, they are to die for! You will be happy with anything on the menu though. Love the dark interior and the art. a little loud, but great for a group of 4. an intent date night... Maybe, but maybe not. It depends of your date and how much talking you want to do. My husband and I had our wedding reception here, about 8 years ago. At the time, there was no option to book a private event. We asked that our party be seated at their patio. They couldn't guarantee to keep other customers from being seated at the patio, but surprisingly, the entire night no other customer outside of our party, was seated out on the patio. In the end, it really was a private event for our wedding party. The food was really good and the staff was attentive throughout the entire night. We had a large wedding party, and I just remember the staff treating everyone like VIP. The food was brought out right away and there were no issues with the orders. Everyone really had a great time, and being seated out in the patio made the event more intimate. The patio was lovely and had outdoor heaters. They did charge a corkage fee for the champagne my dad had purchased for everyone in our party. The staff knew exactly when to start pouring everyone's champagne for our wedding toast. It really was such a magical night and everyone had such a great time. Again, this was 8 years ago and so much has changed since then.
