Over priced rude staff. I gave them 2 stars because the food is decent. We ordered take out and the salads were TINY for $15. I asked for feta cheese instead of blue cheese and they charged extra without letting me know. I asked about this upon pick up and they wouldn't change the price. Employee was rude to my sister and will not be back. We started coming for breakfast, commenting on the delicious coffee and wonderful omelets, crepes, and pastries. Lunch didn't disappoint, introducing Mediterranean flavors. Tonight, we tried dinner and it was fantastic. I had a great platter of tender fillet mignon that was better than most steak houses. My wife had Salmon over a salad, which she raved about. THEY'RE SO SLOW! I came here for lunch with 2 friends. We were 3 people and there were only tables for 2 people that were available. The waiters didn't even put us two tables together so we had to do it ourselves. We ordered just salad and hummus wrap. We were in a hurry as we had to get back to school in 50 minutes. Our order took 25 minutes to come out! The restaurant wasn't even crowded. We told the waiters that we were in a rush and they were not nice towards us at all. The food came out and it was terrible. The hummus wrap was the worst lunch I ever ate in such a long time. There was an almost 3 inch thick layer of raw spinach just shoved in there and hardly any hummus. Last time I had come here, the food had also taken an extremely long amount of time to come out. I would not recommend this place. The service is bad, the food takes forever to come out, and the food doesn't even taste good. read more

Disappointed. Came here for breakfast. There was no one in the place and there were 2 waiters working. I asked the waiter if 2 specific items on the menu were vegan and he did not know what that meant (bummer #1). He asked someone (the chef I presume) and they both were vegan. I ordered them and my fiancee ordered the Eggs Platter. We waited almost 30 minutes for our food (bummer #2). And for some reason, a couple who walked in after us got their food before we did (bummer #3). My 2 dishes, the Mediterranean Fava Beans and the Zaatar Manakeesh, were combined onto one plate: the fava beans were drenched in oil and did not come with pita bread, as the menu stated (bummer #4). The Zaatar was very tasty. My fiancce's order came with small portions - he was still hungry after so he ordered a waffle (bummer #???). After about 10 minutes after doing so, the waiter came over to tell us that he burnt the waffle and was making another one (WTF!?). Probably won't be returning to this spot. read more

I didn't find this place to be too good. I ordered their chicken shish taouk pita wrap with French fries, their hummus, grape leaves, falafel, and avocado smoothie. The chicken for the wrap was nicely seasoned and cooked. It the sandwich could have definitely used more garlic sauce/paste. I didn't enjoy it much only because their just wasn't enough sauce. Sorry to say, but the French fries tastes like the seasoned frozen fries you buy at the supermarket. Their hummus was definitely missing something. I can't tell if the hummus needed more garlic or a little more lemon, but it was definitely something about it that lacked flavor. As for their grape leaves, I didn't enjoy it much. The only good thing about it was that it was served warm. I didn't like the flavor of the rice they put inside. Also, when you make stuffed grape leaves, their is a certain part of the leaves you need you cut off. They didn't do this here, as whenever I bit into the grape leaves they were pretty tough. Now for their falafel, I feel like they over fried it. It had a burned taste to it where every bite I took, I couldn't get over the fact of that burned taste. Had they cooked it a little less, they would have been perfect. The avocado smoothie was ok. I feel like they either forgot to add honey or they just didn't add enough of it. Had I tasted the honey, this smoothie would have been good. I wouldn't recommend anyone to come here if you're looking for a good Lebanese place as there are way more places that serve it better. I probably wouldn't return unless someone told me that they changed chefs. read more

This is by far the best falafel . I often frequented at Farmhouse but the service sucked . The tall young man is a pleasure . He went out of his way to take car of my family , tending to the needs of my special needs child who was acting up a bit during lunch . He was extremely helpful and spent additional time with my special needs child . The crepes were so very yummy . We will definitely be back for more falafel and I will be writing a blog in my special needs website about the service for any families looking for a nice lunch spot with children . read more

Was there at 9:00 AM for breakfast. One other table. 40 minutes had gone by and no food came. We had to go but I was told it was being plated so I asked for it to be wrapped up to go. Another ten minutes go by and still no food. Left after waiting an hr and never getting food. The server was apologetic however the owner happened to be there and just walked around and did nothing. We had some good and bad experiences here. We came for breakfast and loved the space, it was really open and bright. I got the orange juice first and was kind of startled at how expensive it was (3.75), but wasnt disappointed when it came because it came in a huge glass topped with a strawberry. It was also very obviously fresh squeezed. I got a breakfast bagel which was very delicious and the side of fruit was a very large and generous portion. However, I also got the home fries and they came kind of warm, but mostly they were room temperature. They were also soaked in oil. Service was on and off. The above mentioned home fries did not come to the table, so we had to ask for them specifically, and when the guy brought them over, he slammed the plate on our table and walked away quickly without saying anything....almost as if us asking whether the home fries were still coming offended him.... However our actual waiter was very pleasant and checked up on us frequently and kept asking us if we needed anything during our meal. We did have to get up from our seats several times to get the attention of the servers for things like ordering, getting the check, and to ask about the home fries. Also, my boyfriend ordered beef shwarma with a side of garlic fries, and when the plate came, it had regular fries. We didn't want to make a fuss and just assumed he heard wrong, so we didn't say anything. However, when the check came, we had been charged for the garlic fries. All in all, the food was very pleasant and our server was nice when he did check up on us, but we were the only ones in the restaurant for a while, and there were 4 staff all on the opposite side of the room on their phones. So, I'd think that it'd be fairly easy to provide excellent service if the restaurant was that empty, but we had to get up from our table multiple times to get their attention. read more

My family enjoys the Madison Grill very much, we love to go for brunch on the weekends. Even when it is busy, we never feel rushed and everyone is very patient and good with my children. We have waited for a table when they are really busy for brunch, but it was always worth the few minutes. The food! We haven't had anything on the menu yet that we don't like, and we have tried it all! The humus they put out with pita chips is amazing! My kids love the pancakes, they are big and my little kids will each house at least a whole one and leave room for ice cream! I've had burgers, wraps and salads and have never been disappointed. The crepes are delicious as well. My husband enjoyed the sample appetizer platter as well as the steak and eggs. He is usually an "ok" comment when it comes to food, but he really likes everything he's had there as well. When it's his choice for lunch, he wants to go here. Management is very good and accommodating. Servers are always very nice and pleasant as well. Restaurant is clean and welcoming. read more

Madison Cafe & Grill is a great addition to Cresskill and Bergen County! Both the breakfast menu (available until 2PM on the weekends) and the dinner menu are great. Madison Cafe hands down has the best omelets in the state of New Jersey in addition to great pancakes and other foods. I was introduced to this place by my friend when we met for breakfast. I was so pleased with the offerings. The pancakes were phenomenal, and the eggs were cooked exactly as requested. I have since gone for a few lunches. The avocado turkey sandwich, served on artisanal bread was outstanding. They also make crepes which look wonderful. I am also impressed by the coffee menu. However, for my liking, I go for the basic cup of coffee because they use a great blend. I am surprised to read negative comments about cleanliness, as I have always found the cafe to be A++ in that department. The menu is rather eclectic, being a mix of cafe, Mediterranean, and American. My husband had a great burger platter while I had a hummus wrap. I love the variety as it adds to the unique charm! My wife & I stopped in for lunch the other day and were delighted by the warm atmosphere and welcoming attitude of the staff. The Cafe is new and sparklingly clean. Plenty of hot water to wash up with in the spotless rest room. Very diverse menu with focus on Mediterranean food. After placing our order we were treated to a complimentary dish of olives, homemade hummus (delicious) & dried pita chips. Our servers were Adriana, Patrick & Alex who were very professional, kept the glasses full and regularly asked if all was OK or if we needed anything. The grilled chicken kabab was served in a rolled wrap and very tasty. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her turkey avacado swiss cheese sandwich...all fresh ingredients. Owner Charles stopped by our table to introduce himself and we let him know how much we enjoyed the delicious lunch and great service.
