This experience turned into a nightmare. I have never been afraid of dentists as I have generally had good experiences. I take very good care of my teeth, but for some reason, I suddenly needed two filler replacements and two onlays. This is the most amount of work I have ever needed. While I thought this was crazy, I went ahead with the replacements, because I was moving in 6 weeks to yet another city and my office trusted this dentist. The dentist did some of the work and then let his assistants work on my teeth. When I left I experienced quite a bit of pain. They told me to come back in for some adjustments. I was told I would be seeing a dentist. When I got there, the dentist said hello and then the assistant worked on my teeth. Again, I left and had pain. I was at the dental office every other day for a month trying to get "the adjustments" fixed so I wouldn't have pain. I have never had to get "adjustments". In my experience, dentists have gotten their work right the first time. My last experience was my final onlay. Again after the onlay was put in I had to get adjustments done cause I couldn't chew without pain. The assistant working on my tooth didn't numb me. She drilled away hitting a nerve. I screamed in pain and tears rolling down my cheeks. I kept telling her it hurt. She said, "I know. I am sorry. I am almost done." It took nearly 3 months for the nerve pain to go away from that tooth. Another tooth continues to bother me. The dentist told me he drilled close to the nerve. He then told me, in 3 months if I still have pain I will need a root canal. Well it has been 5 months. I still can't chew on the right side of my mouth. Why the "F" do I need a root canal after seeing this dentist. I didn't need one before! I didn't even have problems with my teeth before going to this dental office. This dental office also had the audacity to bill me once more after I moved. After they told me I had everything settled. Two months after I moved, they told me my insurance wouldn't cover EVERYTHING. Awesome.. since when I was there they told me my insurance company would pay up to this and this amount. I paid the hefty remaining balance. In any case, I am now in another city... still in pain with no dental insurance and deathly afraid to see another dentist (I didn't have a fear of dentists before). I never want to experience this kind of pain again, both physically and financially.

I paid for my Invisalign treatment in full, trusting I'd receive quality care. Unfortunately, the experience took a sharp turn. I was told I'd hear from Invisalign within two weeks--but that timeframe came and went with no update. When I followed up, I was met with vague explanations and shifting responses. No accountability, no clear communication. After requesting to cancel treatment, the orthodontist's wife--who helps manage the office-reached out to me in attempts to explain the breakdown in communication. Her first reason for their office disorganization was due to her staff whom she called "clueless". Later, she used a personal death as an excuse for the office's delays which was neither here nor there for me due to the fact that it was only communicated only after I had already expressed concerns multiple times. While I absolutely sympathize with personal loss, it should never be used to deflect from a pattern of inefficiency. If there are unusual circumstances that knowingly creates a lag in business, That information should have been professionally communicated to clients as soon as it occurred. It is a form of courtesy in the least and at best, shows consideration and respect for the client's business and time. While speaking with the doctor's wife, what was most insulting was her assumption about my finances. She told me I should continue treatment with them because it would be "too expensive" for me elsewhere--as if she had any insight into what I could or could not afford. That level of overstepping was completely inappropriate. Not only did they delay my treatment but I had to repeatedly DEMAND cancellation. Instead of honoring my decision, they repeatedly tried to convince me to continue, using pressure tactics rather than professionalism by having mutliple people reach out to me (doctor, staff, wife) when I clearly stated that I did not want to speak with anyone and simply wanted to cancel. And when they finally canceled treatment as I requested , they retroactively charged me for a cleaning I had received at the start--one that was originally presented as complimentary. This felt retaliatory and only confirmed my decision to walk away. As previously stated, the doctor's wife repeatedly emphasized how great of a deal I was getting and how I wouldn't be able to afford any other provider or find that price else where. Ironically, I found another provider offering the exact same price, with a more modern facility, efficient communication, and respectful staff--no manipulation, no excuses. If you're considering long-term orthodontic care, I encourage you to look for an office that respects your time, your intelligence, and your investment. And to the staff I'd be careful working for an employer who disrespects and throws you under the bus privately to their clients to save face for "the business". In truth, unknowledgeable staff says more about the management and leadership. Lastly, (this is the kicker) I called the office to request my X-rays so I could transfer them to another provider. The receptionist informed me that there was only 1 shot availble from the full set that was taken initially. When I ansked what happed to them. She said..."I Don't know." She emailed me the image which I have uploaded for your viewing pleasure. As you can see it's unlabeled/undated and truthfully. I'm Not sure how even the doctor read that one. I go to the clinic across the hall and they tell me that this has been reoccurring with the patients of this dental clinic and they don't understand why. I am now putting together the pieces of why my dental cleaning got rescheduled a month later. Their dental clinic told me over the phone prior when they rescheduled me is that their contracted dental tech assistant's contract was over, so the doctor was going to do all of the cleanings. I understand now why people don't want to work here. Now that I am here waiting in an unlocked dental office with no prior notice of the absence of dental staff. I am so disappointed in the customer service of this practice. No prior notice, no communication, no device, no security. Nothing. I should begin this review by saying that I've had extensive work done here, and unfortunately a great deal of different procedures at other dentists and periodontists in NYC and Florida. Dr. Moskowitz is a dream dentist. He's as upbeat as he can be, yet he never sugarcoats the situation. He will answer endless questions, and never seems frustrated or irritated. I don't like dentists, and I am kind of a wuss when it comes to pain, but he is unfailingly gentle, and will stop and administer more anesthetic in the middle of a procedure if the patient wants it. I cannot say enough about my experience with him, and with his assistant, who also went to dental school, Dora. They are an amazing team, and I trust them completely. Why? I read some previous reviews about unnecessary work ordered, but I had all different options and price points discussed with me, and wasn't pushed toward the most expensive option. My father made the same decision to have a permanent bridge put in, and his dentist (in Florida) was not as good as Advanced Dental Care - he gets food caught under it and it irritates his gums. My bridge fits so well that I feel like it's nearly my natural teeth. They didn't rush to cement it in, but used temporary paste, until I was sure that the fit was absolutely correct. So why not 5 stars? They are EXPENSIVE. I have dental insurance, and with the insurance that they take, I'm still paying tens of thousands of dollars out of my own pocket. I know that there are less expensive dentists out there, but I've decided that the thoroughness and expertise that I have experienced here are worth the money. After all, it is your mouth, and I don't know about you, but I like eating. They make sure that they accommodate my schedule, and after hearing my dad complain about the dental work that he had done, I think it is ABSOLUTELY worth the cost.

Extremely long wait after appointment time to be seen, and the administration is horribly managed. This place is terrible. I went to get my wisdom teeth removed. The consultation was standard and everything went fine. They verified that I was qualified for a loan and repayment plan but then I received a letter in the mail after my surgery saying that I did not qualify for the extended repayment plan despite being assured before my surgery that I was. They had me sign up for a plan that caused me financial stress under false pretenses. They called to reschedule my surgery twice which caused confusion with my job because I had to request time off for the surgery and then change it, twice. When I arrived for my surgery, I had to wait an hour and half to be seen by the surgeon whose assistant did not follow her instructions to x ray me while I waited, causing more of a delay. The guy before me had been waiting for two hours. The surgery itself went fine. They have very capable doctors. But so do A LOT of other dental offices. I received IV sedation and it was very fast. The big issue with this place is the management and administration. It is VERY poorly managed. They sent my scripts to the wrong pharmacy (TWICE!) and it took a few hours after my surgery to get them. Also, I requested an itemized receipt for my surgery both before and after my procedure. Was initially told hey can't give that to me until after the procedure. Then on 10/12 when I followed up I was told it would take a day to get to me. It's 10/17 and I still don't have my itemized receipt and they have not called me back. This is what I wonder: 1. I asked for an itemized receipt before my surgery and they said that they could not provide this until after the surgery because that's when they would be able to calculate the totals. 2. If that's the case why did they give me a solid price (the wording was, verbatim "the surgery will cost $2400". It was a definitive statement and not a quote) and have me sign up for a loan and repayment plan based on this amount if they can't actually calculate the totals until after the procedure? 3. Why are they unable to supply an itemized receipt when requested? Why don't they already have this information calculated and on file? Why won't they return my calls about this? Why are they being so shady about this? I am concerned that this place takes advantage of those who need dental work and who may be economically vulnerable, in a lot of pain, and who may be desperate to get this work done. I sincerely regret using Brooklyn Dental and besides my follow up, will never see them again.

During the first appointment, he redid the filling. Aside from a little pain, it was quick and over. Over the course of two weeks, the sensitivity/pain heightened. Being the paranoid person I am, I called and left a message. Dr. Gochman was nice enough to send a text and reminded me to be patient. The pain did not subside so I went back and Dr. Gochman asked some questions (scale of 1-10, how bad is the pain, how often, etc etc.). He observed the tooth and said he could do a root canal but his gut was telling him not to. He said I can wait a month to see how things pan out or seek a second opinion. I appreciated the honesty as my usual dentist's endo once recommended a root canal on another tooth which turned out to be perfectly fine. Anyway, while the visits were nice, the second visit felt as if Dr. Gochman did not really believe I was in as much discomfort as I mentioned or he was not in a great mood that particular day. But I'm still giving my visits a 4-star; I've read many great reviews on Yelp about Dr. Gochman's office and their service and I can only assume the uncertainty of the pandemic has affected everyone and my discomfort may not have been as serious as some of the other patients that the doctor has seen. Truly appreciate his office for taking new patients and the honesty given. Hoping that the pain ends soon and that when things are back to "normal", I can go into the doctor's office as a returning patient.
