I love exploring different bakeries and donut shops. This past weekend, I decided to venture into Seattle. While Seattle isn't my favorite place to visit due to its parking and traffic, we tried five different donut shops. We stopped at Madison Park Bakery, where I got an éclair for my husband and a lemon cupcake and pastry for myself. Unfortunately, the lemon cupcake was dry, and the lemon curd inside was extremely tart--oh my! Although I wouldn't return for the baked goods, I want to return and try their sandwiches; they looked fantastic! The area is very neat, and I recommend checking it out.

LOVE this gem of a shop! Wanted to surprise my partner with a special treat for takeaway, and they definitely delivered! I got him a chocolate ganache cupcake (which looked like those fancy fake food props you see in movies and showrooms) and me a twisted glazed donut thing (which was gone in about 2 seconds, sorry, not sorry!). Everyone was in masks, the staff was splendid and my Americano was perfect (and I'm a coffee snob). JAVAAAAA (maybe I didn't need those 2 shots this am...) Can't wait to go back and try some more of their delights!!!

Cute little bakery!!!! I loved that they had mini pastries so that I could try more things. I mainly came for the Hot Cross Buns. They were great and super cute. I took my bun down to the park and enjoyed it while watching some ducks. Awesome bakery! Very friendly staff, and I loved that there was easy parking nearby.

Customer service is alive and well at Madison Park Bakery. The new owners, Issac and Sylvia, should be supported and commended for bringing back excellence to a longstanding community staple. I ordered a cake for my deceased sister's birthday celebration. When we went to eat the cake it was horrible. Because her celebration was in the evening the bakery was already closed. My plan was to call them the next day. I phoned the Bakery early and Issac answered the phone. He immediately apologized for my experience and offered to refund my money. He asked if I could bring the cake back to the bakery. I did. While they were refunding my money his staff tasted the returned cake. They, too, agreed that the cake wasn't good. They then tried to figure out what happened in the preparation of the cake. It was refreshing to have a business acknowledge they made a mistake and take the steps necessary to correct it. Issac wanted to assure me that my returned cake was not the standard or quality of a Madison Park Bakery cake. He offered me a slice of cake and ask that I call him after I tried it. The slice had great flavor and texture. I called Issac and let him know there was a marked difference in the cakes. Issac had already apologized, returned my money and given me a slice of cake. He then offered to give me a full cake. Throughout this entire process Madison Park Bakery personnel was gracious and provided top notch customer service. They made what could have been a trying situation exceptional. Best wishes Madison Park Bakery, Issac & Sylvia. I'll be back. Don't forget to try the carrot cake.

But honestly? The energy worked. The staff was moving with that calm, unbothered flow only seasoned baristas have. Friendly, attentive, and somehow keeping the line moving without making anyone feel rushed. Respect. Light was flooding every corner; that soft Seattle glow that makes you want to pull out your journal and pretend you live inside a cozy indie film. Ventilation was perfect. Temperature was perfect. Seating options? Abundant. And not the awkward wobbly kind either. This spot is built for lingering. I grabbed a latte, sat down, and immediately fell into an art journaling trance. There's something about being surrounded by curated shelves of books and cute little treasures that just unlocks your brain. It's the kind of place where you look up after ten minutes and somehow an hour passed. This was my first visit, but it's already on my list of "places I'll actually come back to and get work done." A rare category, honestly. If you're looking for a café that feels like a creative reset button; this is a great one.

Definitely a hub for the cafe laptop crowd and lively meetups. Decent music overhead. All the tables, counter, and shared seating were packed. So I took in the vibe seated on a bench by the entrance. I enjoyed my Hojicha Einspanner. It held up even in traffic driving through Madrona, CD, North CapHill, Montlake onward heading back north. Great spot in Madrona. The staff was so sweet, drinks were ready quick, and the overall vibe of the cafe is perfect for relaxing and studying. I also love the selection of Asian goods and local artist-made stickers they have by the register (I got a totoro sticker)! I first tried the turon matcha which I thought was good but had a mild banana flavor. I was expecting more of a caramelized flavor but I still thought it was good. The next day, I ordered the matcha einspanner. Their housemade yoka whip was so yummy and added the perfect amount of sweetness to the matcha latte. Overall, the matcha here is smooth and both drinks weren't too sweet.

Clearly, I've had ongoing issues with this location not filling my premium-priced drink to the top. Today, they left an inch of the cup unfilled. I politely asked them to remake the drink so it was full. The young, twenty-something barista had the nerve to tell me, "We are instructed to leave the cup unfilled by half an inch from the top." (It was at least a full inch unfilled.) I began to explain that while I don't mind paying the premium price, I do expect a full cup. He then said something about, "this is how we measure it." I mentioned that he's made my drink before and filled it to the top as requested. At that point, I decided this would absolutely be my last visit to this Starbucks. I've complained about the short-filled drinks here before, and I never, EVER, have this problem at any other Starbucks I've visited across the continental U.S. Is it a lack of training? I can't help but wonder. Why is this Starbucks so consistently bad at filling drinks? I asked for a refund but felt awful because I was so frustrated. Most of the staff there is very nice. This young fellow's excuse was pathetic. I'll say it again -- if we're paying a premium price, fill the drink to the top. For Pete's sake, I even have it listed as my name on the cup.

I ordered two 16-oz iced drinks with oat milk and asked for one of them to have just a few ice cubes because I can't drink very cold drinks. Right after that, the lady basically stopped listening, and I didn't even get to finish my order. I figured I'd clarify with the person making the drinks and mentioned that I wanted a bit more oat milk in the second drink because my friend finds it too sweet. As soon as I said that, the cashier interrupted and told me my drinks were not made with oat milk. I said they were, and her exact response was: "Good thing you didn't pay for them." Excuse me? I told her I did pay--and I paid the same amount I always do for this exact drink at this location. Then we got the drinks. The one with less ice was literally half empty. I'm not exaggerating--maybe 10 oz at most, even though I ordered a 16 oz. So now I'm wondering: if you order an iced drink and ask for less ice, do you just get less product? Because that doesn't make sense. If you order hot matcha you get 16 oz, but if you don't want hot and don't want ice in your drink you'll get half empty cup. Will not go back. Everyone who was with me was shocked how rude the woman was. It's my first time when something like that happened at this location, I always recommend this place but was super disappointed this time.
