I discovered the party area having the mimosa w all kinds of different flavors. And lots of unique dishes including pancake, omelette, and Mexican foods. I loved the coconut and apple mimosas. For brunch, I need to try either Sat or Sun to try their famous Café latte hazelnut. It was so tasty to wake you up right away. The service was awesome. The parking is private, but little tough. Not many.... Great place for the brunch and birthday or anniversary to celebrate. read more

Tadeo gave great service with a great attitude. He was fast with his service and did everything with a smile. Definitely made the experience at Madres delightful. I would highly recommend the bellflower location and their mimosas flight! I ordered the muffin sandwich and my boyfriend got the breakfast sandwich. Both were excellent choices. Cheers read more

This is such a great place to take your girlfriends for Brunch. A lot of groups laughing and vibing to the music that they have. It does get a little loud so if you wanna take your mom I may reconsider sitting outside. I took my mother in law and we sat inside and I felt like I was yelling across the table. The food was good and food came out fairly quick . Unfortunately I did ask my waiter for water like 3 times and finally got it after asking a different waiter. Except for that it seemed like a good hangout spot . Great photo ops too, but only if your sitting behind them. read more

8/4/24 Decided to try out Madre Brunch......... I ordered : Pistachio waffles tasted like a regular waffle Chilaquiles Verdes presentation was different than expected, but it was flavorful and Good. We came here after seeing posts on instagram. It was a fun, upbeat atmosphere and the food was aesthetically pleasing however the ingredients and flavors kind of missed the mark for us. The Strawberry Shortcake pancakes were super artificial tasting so we didn't enjoy it as much as we wanted. We also ordered a sausage, hashbrowns, and eggs and all were somewhat bland. However the Marzipan coffee was actually really delicious. Service was okay, not terrible but we definitely could've use a bit more attention. Overall a good experience but probably won't be back. read more

Honestly it's super expensive- everything is minimum $18 or more (besides the drinks), and the quality of the food is not worth the prices. An agua Fresca with no refill costs $7 and our waiter never came around to offer us napkins, refills, etc. The food my mom ordered was just soggy chips and the smallest container of consomé for her plate. And the popular strawberry pancakes are super sweet- the pancakes are dry and you can't even add syrup because of the sweetness. Tried Madres on a late Saturday morning... it's true what everyone says about the parking, it sucks! The lot is so small and since it's busy, there's no parking, we parked a block down but it was okay in the end because we were so full, we needed the little walk lol We got the abuelita latte, the mazapán latte (blended) and the iced hibiscus.. they were all so good! The mazapán latte blended was just the right amount of sweet, it wasn't overbearing. We got the hazel waffles, the birria omelette and the chicken chilaquiles. They were all delicious choices! It was a little pricey but I mean, for once in a while, it's okay. The food was so good. I got the Madres Chilaquiles, and they were the bomb. My drink was the mazapan latte and it was good. My girlfriend got Chilaquiles Rojos and she enjoyed em. She also go the horchata latte which was so good. We also go The Frenchy which was just chefs kiss. The ambiance was pretty chill. The service was good. Wanted to like this place because it looked great but unfortunately my experience was not the best. TL;DR: Good food, okay drinks, lots of options, very rushed. Met up with a friend here, luckily we didn't wait long but it looks like you can usually expect a long wait time to be seated. My food was decent, and the place looks cute but it was very crowded (given it was a weekend and peak busy time). We spoke with the manager at the end about our experience. I get that they are trying to get all parties seated, but there was not a need for us to be entirely rushed the entire time. Especially while eating... I would recommend going during off peak times if you can or maybe trying elsewhere if you don't want to be in a hurry. read more

Based on their strong social media presence, I had high hopes for this breakfast/brunch spot, however I can't say that I was impressed at all. I visited on a Saturday morning around 9:30am. The parking lot was already full at this time and the place was getting crowded, luckily I got on the waitlist beforehand and was seated right away (nice plus). The ambiance is ok, lots of Instagramable wall art around for the influencers (or wanna be influencers). We decided to try one of their famous coffee flights of their specialty coffee drinks. I would say it was just ok, 2 out of the four coffees were good (Mazapán and Horchata), and 2 were bad (especially the Mexican chocolate/abuelita one barf). I don't think I would order that again as there was very little coffee flavor in them and mostly tasted like a sugary milk drink. For food, I went with the chilaquiles verdes. They were ok, nothing special. It was a huge portion but upon digging through the dish, it just felt like an endless amount of soggy tortillas with very little sauce, beans, cheese, or sour cream, and just one egg, thumbs down. The food tased just ok, again nothing special or memorable. My husband had the chilaquiles omelette and he said it was good but also nothing special. I ordered my little one a plain waffle and a side of fruit. The waffle was pretty flavorless, again nothing special. We ordered a side of fruit which was a pretty decent size for a side so that was a plus. We also regretfully ordered 2 black coffees which were absolutely terrible. The worst black coffee I have ever had. It should be criminal for a place that specializes in breakfast/brunch to have simple black coffee taste that awful. Like how hard can it be to have decent tasting black coffee if your main thing is serving breakfast/brunch? This goes to show you that this is yet another LA restaurant that just wants to lure people in through social media hype and gimmicks. Overall, I may give this place another try to see if something different may taste better. But based on this first visit, I just simply don't think it lives up to the hype at all. read more

It's a bit overpriced for what it has to offer. If you're looking for a hipster vibe sure this place has it, but $90 brunch for two with the quality of the food, I don't know. Green pork was under seasoned and that's what sticks out for me. read more

Just a couple of weeks ago, my friends and I were considering our options for where to have brunch to celebrate one of our friend's retirement. Toast was one of the names I dropped in the metaphorical hat, and it won the vote of a few. My friends were surprised that I had named a spot I hadn't yet tried since I'm usually the "foodie" of the group. However, another girl in the group who had been here before vouched for it. I'm glad I finally got to try this place this past weekend, and I cannot wait to return! There were so many things on their menu that I wanted to try. A couple of the ladies ordered green chilaquiles, the friend we were celebrating ordered the Spanish Omelet, another woman I'd met that day had the bacon and eggs, another one ordered the Biscuits and grave with a side of bacon that looked perfectly crispy. I wish I had taken pictures of the plates as it all looked so lovely! I didn't even take a picture of my own food haha. I had my eyes on an omelet, one of the Benedicts or the Chicken n Waffle. In the end, the chicken and waffle won. It comes served with a little container of maple syrup with bacon pieces. The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The waffle was delicious, though I did request for some extra syrup on the side. To drink, a few ladies ordered mimosas, one ordered an iced caramel coffee, and I ordered the Carajillo. I fell in love with this drink last summer in Mexico and do not often see it on the menu. I love the subtle citrus notes the Licor 43 adds to this espresso drink. It is very similar to an espresso martini, and theirs comes topped with a toasted marshmallow. I honestly wanted to try almost every item in their Tipsy Barista section of their drinks. I'll just have to come back that many more times :) Plenty of parking in the mall lot. It does get pretty packed during peak hours. Fortunately I had called ahead to put our group of 6 down. We went in on Saturday around 11:30. It slowed down a bit while we were eating, but started to get busy again after 1. Otherwise, we might have been forced to honor their 90-minute rule. All in all, a great experience from everyone in our group. No complaints on the wait, service or food. That certainly deserves a toast. Great job, Toast!

We recently visited Madres Brunch in Bellflower, we joined the waitlist at 11:30 am arrived and checked in at 12:30pm, but unfortunately, we didn't get seated until 1:30 pm. This long wait was quite frustrating, especially since there wasn't enough covered seating in the waiting area, making it uncomfortable on a hot day. Despite the delayed seating, the staff at Madres Brunch were friendly and accommodating once seated. They made an effort to ensure we were comfortable and attended to our needs throughout our visit. Unfortunately, the food at Madres Brunch fell short of expectations. While the portions were generous and filling, the taste and quality were subpar. The Madres Chilaquiles, which we ordered to share, lacked the desired flavors and could have been much better. The On Fire waffles, though visually appealing upon arrival, were disappointingly dry even with the small scoop of ice cream. The overall dining experience left much to be desired, particularly when compared to other establishments offering similar prices and options. One highlight of the meal was the flight of mimosas, which was enjoyable for sharing with the table. However, it's worth noting that the flight only included three mimosas, which may be insufficient for larger groups or those looking to sample a wider variety. I arrived with a large group and checked in on Yelp at 11 am. I also checked in person at 11:50 and was told the wait would be under an hour. Despite being 4th in line, we waited over an hour due to our party size of 8. After waiting outside for an hour, I inquired with the hostess about the wait time. She showed me her tablet, indicating our party was first on the list, but others were seated before us. We were informed that we had to wait for a party of 10 to finish, even though they had just been seated. Despite available tables next to each other, they couldn't get them connected initially. After 20 minutes, the manager agreed to connect them. The wait for food was an additional half hour. Not to mention, FLIES SWARMING THE RESTAURANT. Our waitress didn't provide water until I asked and didn't check on us. The cold food, overpowering wall fans, and a $50+ gratuity charge for minimal service were disappointing. My husband and I visited this spot for breakfast on Wednesday after our busy schedules had kept us apart during our anniversary, preventing us from having dinner together. I discovered Madres Bruch on Yelp as one of the best places serving Chilaquiles (our favorite), aside from being a top romantic destination for brunch. The ambiance was truly inspiring. We were seated next to the southwest-facing windows, which provided us with a spirited view. We ordered the chilaquiles rojos, which were accompanied by mazapan. They were fresh and well seasoned with sauce dressing, a wonderful way to begin our meal. Later, we tried madres chilaquiles with eggs benedict on the side, which we shared. I wasn't particularly fond of the madres chilaquiles, and the veggies accompanying the eggs benedict were slightly not my fav. Everything else was perfect. It seems that their menu may vary seasonally, as what we saw online slightly didnt match what we were served, but I'm confident you'll always find something you'll enjoy. The birria eggs Benedict was delicious, it was not overly wet to soak into the bread and the birria had a nice flavor and not too salty. The wilma pancakes are delicious, covered in fruity pebbles and lechera and while on the sweet side already the pancakes themselves are not too sweet, so taking it slow and a balance with other plates made it more palatable and easier to eat. Service is good as well we showed up a bit after a rush hour and with about a 25 minute wait time we were serviced within that time and after ordering we did not have to wait too long to receive our food. Our server Tadeo Martinez came and checked in on us to make sure everything was fine and and patient while taking our order despite a bit of a rush, and also provided recommendations to some of the coffees they offer, my favorite being the pistachio coffee. Our server, Dominique, was not welcoming and seemed rushed despite the restaurant being slow. Her demeanor was serious and unapproachable throughout our entire visit. When my mom realized she had forgotten to request decaf coffee and apologized for the oversight, Dominique yanked the coffee from her hand without saying a word--no "It's okay" or "We'll take care of it." Later, when my wife quietly tried to ask for candles to celebrate my birthday, Dominique cut her off loudly, saying, "No, no, we don't do candles here," completely disregarding my wife's attempt to keep it low-key. The food was delicious however I did get the chilaquiles verdes with steak, and they were a little dry so I had to ask for more salsa and the steak could of had more flavor but for $7 more the portion size for steak was a little smaller than I thought it would be. So, I went to Madre's Brunch, and let me tell you, it was like a big party in there! The food menu had a little something for everyone, which was cool. I tried this horchata latte and oh my goodness, it was seriously delicious! I gotta be honest though, the Madres Chilaquiles were just okay, not the best I've ever had. Now, the One birria sandwich was huge, like seriously gigantic. The only thing was, there was maybe too much bread compared to the sandwich stuff, you know what I mean? They had this Michelada flight thing too, which was alright, but I kind of wished there was more of the Michelada mix in each one. When I first told my husband that I wanted to try breakfast at Mia's Cafe he didn't seem too enthusiastic about it but after a few sips of his iced mocha latte and a few bites from his Mia's Breakfast Platter he was more than pleasantly surprised. I also had the same meal but asked for my eggs sunny side up and they were perfect. The pancakes were delicious. The sausage was the best chicken sausage I've ever had. Apart from the eggs (because I ate those up--I mean, come on now, who saves sunny side up eggs for later?), I saved half of my meal for another day. It's a lot of food! The place is cute and clean. The miniature succulent on the table is a nice touch. Maria was the server for everyone and she's sweet and efficient. And I really loved the music that was playing overhead. I can't think of anywhere else I've been where they played songs that included: The Wallflowers' "The Difference," Audioslave's "Like a Stone," and Paul Young's "Every Time You Go Away." It was like they meant to play a song from almost every decade of my life. Enjoying a relaxing and scrumptious breakfast with my husband on a beautiful SoCal morning is something you can't really put a price on--and breakfast at Mia's Cafe was a wonderful way to start the day.

The molcajete was absolutely delicious, and the cucumber margarita was amazing and so refreshing! But the way we were treated here was not okay. My husband and I came in for brunch and were told there would be about a 15 minute wait. A party of 5 walked in immediately after us and was seated right away. My husband politely asked the hostess why they were seated before us. Her response was simply, "because they are a party of 5." That was it. No explanation that they had a reservation, that a certain table was specifically being held for a larger party, or anything that would have made the situation make sense. What bothered me even more was her attitude. She was rude, dismissive and made us feel like we were bothering her just by asking a completely reasonable question. I was also the only Black person in the restaurant at the time. I'm not going to claim to know what was in anyone's mind, but when you are treated differently from the people who walk in right behind you and nobody can give you a reasonable explanation for why, of course it makes you question what the difference was. We ended up leaving. We were actually looking forward to trying this place for the first time, but I'm not going to spend my money somewhere that makes me feel unwelcome. The hostess is the first impression of your restaurant, especially for a first time customer. Unfortunately, ours was a terrible one. I hope management takes this seriously because no guest should leave a restaurant wondering whether the color of their skin had something to do with how they were treated.

It's a shame because I actually enjoy the food and would like to come back, but good food can only go so far when the overall experience is repeatedly affected by the service. At this point, I don't think I'll be returning unless there's a noticeable improvement in the level of service.
