Madres Brunch has a cute vibe with a menu full of brunch items. It's neat how they had drink flights where you can try a variety of flavors, including coffee, latte, mimosa, and margarita flights. Our server was also nice and friendly. * Chilaquiles Verdes + Steak 4/5 - The chilaquiles came with fried tortillas soaked in green sauce and topped with cheese, sour cream (we got this on the side), avocado, red onion, and an egg. It rests on a bed of beans which we opted not to get. The chilaquiles were pretty good. We got the steak addon which was okay at 3.5/5, not very flavorful. * Pistachio Waffles 4/5 - This came with 2 pistachio waffles, pistachio ice cream, strawberry and caramel syrup, condensed milk, and topped with real pistachios. It was a nice to try something different. The waffle was good, but it didn't have a lot of pistachio flavor. We also got drinks. Both the Strawberry Horchata and the Mazapan Latte were very good 5/5. The Mazapan tasted exactly like its namesake candy.
LOTS OF INDOOR SEATING; easily able to host big parties and big families. Slow during the week days and busier on the weekends. We went on a Thursday morning at 8:30am and it was empty! Service was friendly and quick. Restrooms are available inside. Hot lattes were delicious but more so "WARM LATTES" and not actually HOT /: which was disappointing but the flavor was good. We got the coffee flight: Pistachio, Chocolate, & Horchata. Food was good but it lacked seasoning - i definitely had to add quite a bit of salt and hot sauce to enjoy it. I would probably go somewhere else if I wanted eggs Benedict. We ordered the Birria eggs Benedict and the chilaquiles. It was good but nothing exciting, I would order something else next time or go to a different breakfast spot. But overall, I left happy but not full.
I think this location and day of the week definitely matters when visiting this restaurant! All the staff were great and friendly! Food was yummy! unfortunately, I wasn't a fan of the Lucky Charm mimosas flight. We were a little bummed; Saturday brunch/lunch time wasn't the vibe at all. pretty much empty, the decor wasn't like the other locations.
I was very excited to try this place after seeing all the hype on Instagram and Yelp, but unfortunately, we left disappointed. Before arriving, we looked at the menu on their website so we could decide what to order. To our surprise, the online menu was inaccurate, and they had completely removed their kids' menu without updating their website. I ended up having to order something different than what I had my heart set on--the avocado toast with steak. Instead, our server recommended the huevos divorciados, while my daughter was left with the only "kid-friendly" option: a plain waffle. My husband ordered the birria omelet, which was described as being topped with pork rinds. There was literally one tiny piece on the entire dish. Thankfully, the birria itself was flavorful, but the presentation definitely missed the mark. My huevos divorciados were served cold, while the potatoes on the plate were piping hot. That made it seem like my food had been sitting for a while before the plate was finished and served. Overall, I was truly disappointed with our experience and won't be returning. To make matters worse, the incorrect menus are still posted on their website, which sets customers up with expectations that aren't met.
Came here for brunch on a Saturday afternoon. Very informal brunch spot/diner. Definitely was more casual than expected. We got greeted and shown to a large dining area. We ordered the special coffee flight which includes horchata, macadamia, pistachio, and abuelita. My favorite was the abuelita and macadamia. The horchata was a bit too sweet for me and the pistachio had a weird aftertaste. I got the pork omelette which came incomplete (without the beans). They brought it out after I asked them about it. My husband got the American breakfast with pancakes. Pancake was a bit too salty in some areas. The sausages were a but burnt but they brought out new sausages to make up for it. Overall the food was decent enough. With the small minor issues, the service was great at making the situation better. Definitely nice and accommodating service and explained they we're training a new cook.
We completed Disney Run and were starving-- initially planned to grab breakfast at another restaurant, but did not want to wait 45min to be seated. Quick search on Yelp and Madres Brunch popped up. There are several locations, but this location was close to where we were at. It looked inviting, so we took a chance on it. Electric and vibrant decor with various murals and pictures on the wall and spacious. Friendly staff seated us quickly. Ordered a few items to share: Rainbow pancakes is exactly that. Stacks of colorful and buttery pancakes. Steak and egg chilaquiles. Good flavor with nice and thick tortilla pieces. 2 eggs would have been better than one, but overall, it was tasty. Cheesy hash potatoes, scrambled eggs, bacon, and toast were what I would expect. It's your standard, straightforward breakfast except the difference is the hash is cheesy. Horchata iced latte was delicious! Right amount of sweetness, creaminess, and cinnamon. Service was great! Attentive staff and friendly. We'd definitely come back and maybe try out other locations as well.
I was surprised how empty this place was on a Saturday morning. We arrived around 9:00am and plenty of seating available. The place is pretty colorful and has a ton of photo worthy selfie spots (I'm sure there is a name for that). They do play music as well, not too loud but makes the place livelier for sure. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. We ordered the Madres chilaquiles and Huevos Divorciados. My plate was a decent size and the bf's plate was in the smaller side but he said it was a good amount of food. He wasn't stuffed but could eat some more afterwards. I love the red sauce used in the chilaquiles. Quite spicy as well so be prepared. The tortillas have a nice crunch and stay crunchy throughout eating the meal. They were super nice and gave me a birthday dessert as well. Buñuelos ftw!
Great place for Mexican-American style brunch! I came here on a Saturday afternoon and there were plenty of open seats. I noticed a lot of the guests were large parties, so must be a good place for celebrations. The interior was cutely decorated with a lot of neon pink and fake green walls (very 2010 aesthetic). In terms of food, I recommend the chilaquiles, the portion size was huge and the sauce was delicious! I also ordered the chiliango, which is an omelette with chilaquiles stuffed inside. The omelette itself was okay but the chilaquiles was delicious!
Visited during the week and it was empty. It's a specious place and they play loud DJ sets on the TVs. Kevin was very attentive, answered all our questions, and even brought out an in house habanero sauce that was very spicy for us to try. The Chilango dishes were a new take on the typical omelette because they are stuffed with your choice of chilaquiles. The chilaquiles dishes themselves were also good and had a good crunch to them that you didn't find in the Chilangos. All dishes were on a bed of refried black beans, which added a good balance. They were all big portions. The drinks were okay. Too sugary for our taste. We got the Nutella French toast for dessert and it did not disappoint! It was thick and fluffy and the grilled plantains definitely complemented it well. Would definitely get that again.
Everything was very average. Probably wouldn't come back. Our server was really nice and I think he may have been the only server during that time, but he was still attentive. Food took awhile to come out and tasted okay.
Had high hopes of this place very hyped up on social Media. Got there is was empty and ordered cafe de olla and 2 plates of food. There was something about the presentation of the food that didn't look good. Tried the food but felt sick afterwards. Won't be coming back. It was a bit too expensive for the experience.
So... sit down.. no server, while others are getting service.. 10-15 min to place an order, even went to the front to find someone to order.. 15 min after that, no water, no utensils, still waiting... Table next to us left about 10 minutes ago, barely ate their food and didnt take it to-go.... Still nothing on our table... About to run to the car and get my bottle of water. Update: Finally got our food, still nothing drinks or WATER... Steak medium rare? see photo... I'm sorry, I know there are a few families here.. but its not THAT busy.
Came in with a friend to change up our usual lunch spots. First impression upon walking in: artistic potluck. The walls are done in bold colors with a street art vibe. One wall has a Care Bear, another a has the Cheshire Cat, and so on. The music is on the loud side and is basically a DJ that is shown doing his thing on the various TVs in the dining room. The workers were friendly and attentive and willing to answer any questions. The food was just okay. I ordered the chilaquiles verdes with a fried egg. Just average flavor with nothing particularly standing out. My friend ordered an omelette that she enjoyed, but the egg was very thin, more like a crepe than an omelette. While it was a change from our usual restaurant choices, nothing really stood out to be crave-worthy. With so many choices out there, Madres probably won't make our rotation on a regular basis.

First off I wanna say that the decor of the restaurant was blissful. It was very colorful and inviting. Secondly walking in we were greeted by the GM Crystal. With a warm smile. We were seated right away without any questions. We had order the mimosa tower which comes with 8-10? Mimosas all different flavors. All of them were amazing. Definitely recommend if you love mimosas! We ended up ordering the red chilaquiles. The red sauce was so good. And the presentation of the plates were very aesthetically pleasing. I appreciate the fact that when I asked for no onions it was no problem for them to accommodate. Also, there's a super cute photo wall for all the girlies and couples that want to take a photo. The service here was amazing! For a party of 8 on a busy day we were seated almost immediately. Dee provided us with amazing customer service and made sure we had everything we needed. This is our second time here and the this place does not disappoint. Aside form the service being top notch , compliments to the chefs in the back all of our food tasted amazing and the portions are really good. Food: 2/5 Soy Chorizo texture was awful, felt like soft tofu that had been soaking in water. The country potatoes were fried and dry as a bone. The frijoles were good though. Avocado had a slimy texture. 2 Egg Combo was a 50/50. The eggs came out how I wanted them (scrambled hard to mess up), the ham was super dry and hard to cut, the hash-browns had too much cheese I didn't end up eating more than 2 bites of it. The toast was okay. Drinks: 1/5 Strawberry Agua Fresca - Didn't taste like strawberry at all. I asked a male server and he took a glance and immediately said that's hibiscus no strawberry. A girl server came over later and I asked if they could remake it. She came back 1 minute later stating that it was made with both strawberry and hibiscus (even though that's not stated on the menu). She gave me back my original drink with no changes as it wasn't remade. Banana Shake - Really didn't seem like a shake at all, it was smooth like milk or an attempt at a smoothie. Very very sweet compared to anything banana that I've tried. Service: 2/5 I asked for ketchup and had to go through 2 servers to get a little dip cup size amount. The male server was helpful in identifying my drink being different than what I ordered. The girl server didn't seem happy when I had asked for a remake or clarification on my drink. Furthermore our bill came out to $47.28. I paid with a $50 bill and was given $2 back. My coin change wasn't provided to me. There wasn't an attempt to ask if I had wanted it either. Ambiance: 3/5 The general layout of the restaurant is spacious. It's a very loud space, but it is expected for the amount of people in there. The butterflies on the wall looked nice. Nothing too unique about the place. Overall: 1/5 I wouldn't return to this location or maybe even Madre's Brunch in general given my first experience wasn't good. read more

Went here for brunch with my sisters. We shared the mimosa flight and it was excellent. The champagne was smooth. I had the chile verde chilaquiles, my sister had the red ones and we shared pancakes. The food and service were excellent! I recommend you give this place a try! You won't be disappointed. As a bonus, the decor is nice and it's very clean! read more

I rarely leave reviews, but this experience was beyond frustrating and had to be shared. We arrived at 11:00 and were told the wait would be about 10 minutes. Instead, we waited 30 minutes and didn't get our food until almost 12:00. When it finally arrived, it was wrong and unacceptable. I ordered over hard egg and was served over easy, and even worse--the chicken was raw. That is completely unacceptable. I could have overlooked the long wait if the food had been good, but it wasn't. The food was overpriced and underwhelming: chilaquiles with chicken, dry pancakes, and three drinks that did not justify the cost at all. The quality was nowhere near what you're paying for. While the customer service was polite and I wasn't charged for the plate with raw chicken, I don't pay for good service--I pay for a fully cooked meal. Long wait, incorrect order, undercooked food, and high prices--it was disappointing from start to finish. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place. read more

Coming here from a magazine ad leading to YouTube reviews leading to checking it out. We went with their chilaquiles which came out cold and soggy with no flavor other than being tomatoey and smokey and mild. It was just terribly cold and mushy. The chile toreado was a yellow pepper with no seasoning almost raw. Whats the point of even calling it like that there was no love for that small detail. I mean Tajin goes a long way but in my opinion taking the easy way out. The black beans was hidden below and was a thin layer beneath the chips. It should be a nice lake of beans as a standard. The cotija cheese was the only thing that was generous and the chilaquiles chips. The steak were a few small rectangular cuts that lacked salt and seasoning and it looked underdone. The steak could have shown clues that it was well grilled and some lemon and pepper some sea salt. There was hardly any egg with the single egg that comes with it. Either way it was a complete disaster ordering this. The pastor omelette was the only entree worth the price because the flavor of it was great but being paired with tiny lake of beans sitting on a mini taco shell bowl holding guac inside was very confusing. No roasted potatoes that come standard no generous beans or refried beans as standard that also was a hot mess being paired to a great omelette. There were no salsas offered to enhance both entrees. The lattes were extremely sweet. The abuelita chocolate was obvious but it overwhelmed any coffee or espresso. We both agreed they were hot cups of chocolate milk with decent art on top. The barista should taste their work prior to serving and also know a golden ratio rule when making flavored lattes. Also the mugs were small and the price and result was absolutely not worth the $7 each. There was no kids menu. Their classic egg bacon toast pancake combo absolutely looked great and i can see it was assembled properly. The bacon look great and like 4 strips did look pretty good. However trying the $4 add-on pancake that looked photogenic actually wasnt good at all. It had some weird flavor that didnt complement its pancake flavor. So far Black Bear Diners pancake is the standard in my book for excellent pancakes. Ultimately i wanted to go all out or go home kind of visit coming here as it is a risk trying new places branching out to see whose delivering great breakfast but this place is absolutely not representing the hype i saw YouTubers posting videos at their flagship Bellflower location and people seeming to enjoy their food. The inside art is stunning like Piglet and it has absolutely so much potential but i feel the cook and barista do not taste their work or are not passionate about flavors at all also does not know how it suppose to come. Now the overpriced food being nickle and dimed here and there could have been okay if the food was spectacular but paying for what we ate and of course tipping the waiter without judging her how her peers perform in the kitchen then realizing in realtime sitting there how we got ripped off in broad daylight just upsets me so much because it makes me regret coming here. I think if a manager who never came to our table would have wandered at every table asking how its going many things would have got fixed or waiving the price of the chilaquiles fetching almost $30 for cold soggy mess with no flavor read more

1st time there, we had green chilaquiles that tasted SUPER delicious and regular American breakfast (waffles and eggs) The food was good but I think just a little over priced. The decor was not our favorite, too many different colorful paintings that just didn't go well together. That's just my personal opinion. read more

If I would've known this place existed I would've invited my whole family. Best breakfast I've ever had! I can't believe I haven't heard people raving about this place what a hidden gem! I got the birria Benedict and the horchata latte and it was beyond perfect, our server was Raul and he was awesome wonderful customer service and extremely inviting, he told us they have a latte flight with several options that sounded amazing that we'll do next time. It's really beautiful inside and I love the vibes! Our waitress was friendly and attentive! It was empty on a Thursday morning but the food was delicious and good portions! I absolutely loved my horchata latte I got it served hot and it was sooo good I can't wait to order it again! I came with my husband for a quick bite to eat and we would come back again. The only thing I'd change is maybe more cilantro sauce for my eggs Benedict because I barely tasted it with the thin drizzle they added on top. Do they do anything for birthdays?
They brought out a special dessert for my daughter on her birthday.
Excited to try this place out, the pictures look amazing! Is there a menu posted anywhere to look over? I was unable to find one. With diet restrictions , I want to make sure there's options for us to try before making the drive.
There was only a paper menu when we dined there, but it had many of the same offerings as the Whittier location. I would browse the menu from Whittier and check with the Placentia location to make sure they have what you're looking for.
