Madres Brunch has a cute vibe with a menu full of brunch items. It's neat how they had drink flights where you can try a variety of flavors, including coffee, latte, mimosa, and margarita flights. Our server was also nice and friendly. * Chilaquiles Verdes + Steak 4/5 - The chilaquiles came with fried tortillas soaked in green sauce and topped with cheese, sour cream (we got this on the side), avocado, red onion, and an egg. It rests on a bed of beans which we opted not to get. The chilaquiles were pretty good. We got the steak addon which was okay at 3.5/5, not very flavorful. * Pistachio Waffles 4/5 - This came with 2 pistachio waffles, pistachio ice cream, strawberry and caramel syrup, condensed milk, and topped with real pistachios. It was a nice to try something different. The waffle was good, but it didn't have a lot of pistachio flavor. We also got drinks. Both the Strawberry Horchata and the Mazapan Latte were very good 5/5. The Mazapan tasted exactly like its namesake candy.
LOTS OF INDOOR SEATING; easily able to host big parties and big families. Slow during the week days and busier on the weekends. We went on a Thursday morning at 8:30am and it was empty! Service was friendly and quick. Restrooms are available inside. Hot lattes were delicious but more so "WARM LATTES" and not actually HOT /: which was disappointing but the flavor was good. We got the coffee flight: Pistachio, Chocolate, & Horchata. Food was good but it lacked seasoning - i definitely had to add quite a bit of salt and hot sauce to enjoy it. I would probably go somewhere else if I wanted eggs Benedict. We ordered the Birria eggs Benedict and the chilaquiles. It was good but nothing exciting, I would order something else next time or go to a different breakfast spot. But overall, I left happy but not full.
I think this location and day of the week definitely matters when visiting this restaurant! All the staff were great and friendly! Food was yummy! unfortunately, I wasn't a fan of the Lucky Charm mimosas flight. We were a little bummed; Saturday brunch/lunch time wasn't the vibe at all. pretty much empty, the decor wasn't like the other locations.
I was very excited to try this place after seeing all the hype on Instagram and Yelp, but unfortunately, we left disappointed. Before arriving, we looked at the menu on their website so we could decide what to order. To our surprise, the online menu was inaccurate, and they had completely removed their kids' menu without updating their website. I ended up having to order something different than what I had my heart set on--the avocado toast with steak. Instead, our server recommended the huevos divorciados, while my daughter was left with the only "kid-friendly" option: a plain waffle. My husband ordered the birria omelet, which was described as being topped with pork rinds. There was literally one tiny piece on the entire dish. Thankfully, the birria itself was flavorful, but the presentation definitely missed the mark. My huevos divorciados were served cold, while the potatoes on the plate were piping hot. That made it seem like my food had been sitting for a while before the plate was finished and served. Overall, I was truly disappointed with our experience and won't be returning. To make matters worse, the incorrect menus are still posted on their website, which sets customers up with expectations that aren't met.
Came here for brunch on a Saturday afternoon. Very informal brunch spot/diner. Definitely was more casual than expected. We got greeted and shown to a large dining area. We ordered the special coffee flight which includes horchata, macadamia, pistachio, and abuelita. My favorite was the abuelita and macadamia. The horchata was a bit too sweet for me and the pistachio had a weird aftertaste. I got the pork omelette which came incomplete (without the beans). They brought it out after I asked them about it. My husband got the American breakfast with pancakes. Pancake was a bit too salty in some areas. The sausages were a but burnt but they brought out new sausages to make up for it. Overall the food was decent enough. With the small minor issues, the service was great at making the situation better. Definitely nice and accommodating service and explained they we're training a new cook.
We completed Disney Run and were starving-- initially planned to grab breakfast at another restaurant, but did not want to wait 45min to be seated. Quick search on Yelp and Madres Brunch popped up. There are several locations, but this location was close to where we were at. It looked inviting, so we took a chance on it. Electric and vibrant decor with various murals and pictures on the wall and spacious. Friendly staff seated us quickly. Ordered a few items to share: Rainbow pancakes is exactly that. Stacks of colorful and buttery pancakes. Steak and egg chilaquiles. Good flavor with nice and thick tortilla pieces. 2 eggs would have been better than one, but overall, it was tasty. Cheesy hash potatoes, scrambled eggs, bacon, and toast were what I would expect. It's your standard, straightforward breakfast except the difference is the hash is cheesy. Horchata iced latte was delicious! Right amount of sweetness, creaminess, and cinnamon. Service was great! Attentive staff and friendly. We'd definitely come back and maybe try out other locations as well.
I was surprised how empty this place was on a Saturday morning. We arrived around 9:00am and plenty of seating available. The place is pretty colorful and has a ton of photo worthy selfie spots (I'm sure there is a name for that). They do play music as well, not too loud but makes the place livelier for sure. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. We ordered the Madres chilaquiles and Huevos Divorciados. My plate was a decent size and the bf's plate was in the smaller side but he said it was a good amount of food. He wasn't stuffed but could eat some more afterwards. I love the red sauce used in the chilaquiles. Quite spicy as well so be prepared. The tortillas have a nice crunch and stay crunchy throughout eating the meal. They were super nice and gave me a birthday dessert as well. Buñuelos ftw!
Great place for Mexican-American style brunch! I came here on a Saturday afternoon and there were plenty of open seats. I noticed a lot of the guests were large parties, so must be a good place for celebrations. The interior was cutely decorated with a lot of neon pink and fake green walls (very 2010 aesthetic). In terms of food, I recommend the chilaquiles, the portion size was huge and the sauce was delicious! I also ordered the chiliango, which is an omelette with chilaquiles stuffed inside. The omelette itself was okay but the chilaquiles was delicious!
Visited during the week and it was empty. It's a specious place and they play loud DJ sets on the TVs. Kevin was very attentive, answered all our questions, and even brought out an in house habanero sauce that was very spicy for us to try. The Chilango dishes were a new take on the typical omelette because they are stuffed with your choice of chilaquiles. The chilaquiles dishes themselves were also good and had a good crunch to them that you didn't find in the Chilangos. All dishes were on a bed of refried black beans, which added a good balance. They were all big portions. The drinks were okay. Too sugary for our taste. We got the Nutella French toast for dessert and it did not disappoint! It was thick and fluffy and the grilled plantains definitely complemented it well. Would definitely get that again.
Everything was very average. Probably wouldn't come back. Our server was really nice and I think he may have been the only server during that time, but he was still attentive. Food took awhile to come out and tasted okay.
Had high hopes of this place very hyped up on social Media. Got there is was empty and ordered cafe de olla and 2 plates of food. There was something about the presentation of the food that didn't look good. Tried the food but felt sick afterwards. Won't be coming back. It was a bit too expensive for the experience.
So... sit down.. no server, while others are getting service.. 10-15 min to place an order, even went to the front to find someone to order.. 15 min after that, no water, no utensils, still waiting... Table next to us left about 10 minutes ago, barely ate their food and didnt take it to-go.... Still nothing on our table... About to run to the car and get my bottle of water. Update: Finally got our food, still nothing drinks or WATER... Steak medium rare? see photo... I'm sorry, I know there are a few families here.. but its not THAT busy.
Came in with a friend to change up our usual lunch spots. First impression upon walking in: artistic potluck. The walls are done in bold colors with a street art vibe. One wall has a Care Bear, another a has the Cheshire Cat, and so on. The music is on the loud side and is basically a DJ that is shown doing his thing on the various TVs in the dining room. The workers were friendly and attentive and willing to answer any questions. The food was just okay. I ordered the chilaquiles verdes with a fried egg. Just average flavor with nothing particularly standing out. My friend ordered an omelette that she enjoyed, but the egg was very thin, more like a crepe than an omelette. While it was a change from our usual restaurant choices, nothing really stood out to be crave-worthy. With so many choices out there, Madres probably won't make our rotation on a regular basis.

My gal pals and I thought this lace was the cutest elevated homey brunch spot to yap at & it didn't disappoint. The food was delicious and the drinks were so affordable. We received everything so fast after ordering, but we did come before the morning rush. The service was so quick and helpful giving really great recommendations, like the pistachio latte. I wouldn't have ordered it if it wasn't recommended to me but I'm definitely going back for it! read more

We came here for brunch and ordered the green chilaquiles and the Journey pancakes, the hot pink strawberry ones. The chilaquiles were delicious, flavorful, and nicely presented. The pancakes looked fun but unfortunately tasted pretty artificial, so I wouldn't get those again. I also had the mazapan latte which was SO good. I actually ended up getting another one to go. I'd definitely come back for the chilaquiles and that latte. read more

The food is NOT all that it's made out to be. I followed several IG accounts posting about this place, but let me tell you.. this is NOT where it's at. Save your money + time. The food is OVERLY PRICED. You can easily hit over $100 tab with just 2/3 people. The food portions aren't that big + are also not even that great. I got the French toast with Nutella + plantains. NOT GOOD at all. I got the Birria omelette. Not bad, but also not good. Over priced for something I could've made myself. My husband for the steak + eggs.. that would be the one thing I would recommend. Don't get me wrong, the service is great! They check in on you (which is why I give 2 stars, otherwise NONE) but everything else is off. The decorations were confusing to me. I couldn't follow the theme they had going on inside. The music was like some club trance remix, which is not dine in appropriate IMO. No family or couple wants to listen to music a hs kid would shuffle or bob head to. Save your money + go to LOADED CAFE like 5/10 mins away!! You'll definitely get more bang for your buck there! They even give you a discount if you pay cash. read more

I had higher hopes for this place given the yelp reviews and have been wanting to try it for awhile now. Unfortunately I was extremely disappointed. The place was not that busy when we got there but had to wait just to put our name in as nobody was at the front. The decor was okay and again given the reviews thought it would be nicer. We then sat for at least 10 minutes before anyone came to our table and I had to wave my hand to someone to get them over to us. We didn't get our drinks until right before the food got there. My son's eggs were cold and his and my mom's food was lukewarm. While my strawberry french toast was very delicious and my husband liked the chilaquiles rojas with steak, we will not be going back here due to the horrible service, mediocre food that was way overpriced. read more

We tried this place for the first time, celebrating a birthday with Sunday Brunch on Cinco de Mayo. Easy parking in front and nicely decorated inside. We were quickly seated. The food we ordered came out in a reasonable amount of time and was very nicely presented and was all pretty tasty. Took one point off for service. They were not overly busy but The server had to be asked for a few things twice and when she asked about taste of latte coffee flight my friend told her it was too sweet. There was still one left. Server said you can request it with less sugar next time. I thought she should have offered to replace the last one. Last, while they brought out a birthday treat for celebrants, our table got left out. I probably would return again though. Give this place a try. read more

Came here on a whim for my birthday brunch. We had the tinga chilaquiles and the birria Benedict (I requested to change the side salad to hashbrowns). I really liked the birra Benedict, it was both sweet and savory. The hashbrowns were really good too, tasted like a mashed potato pancake. The tinga chilaquiles was just ok.. I think after a few bites, the flavor becomes too much and too heavy and it's hard to finish it. The beans were also really cold and made the rest of the dish cold. The sauce they used was good though, had a spicy kick to it. read more

03/03/24 Pistachio Waffles $19.00 Generously sprinkled with pistachios & pistachio ice cream. They were all food coloring & NO pistachio flavor at all, which is really too bad. My expectations were higher. More for posting on social media than flavorful. In the mood for pistachio, just get the pistachio latte. Chilaquiles Verdes $17.00 my husband got this one. Nice presentation for taking pics not so much on yum factor as it was mostly chips and extra charge for meat and only 1 egg. Overall, a pricey breakfast more for posting, than actual satisfaction. read more

Saw this place on IG and as a true foodie and elite yelper i needed to see the hype. It's obvious it's a new location due to the signage and what seemed like missing furniture inside. Open rooms gave me the buffet feel. Not much privacy between tables which makes it not so intimate BUT in a brunch setting where it's more sociable, it will work. I personally didn't really like the setting inside, almost felt like a dennis, ihop, etc. IMO the spray paint cartoon characters on the walls looked like my kid did them(overkill but who am i) someone may love it more than me. Now to service: that's the one thing i enjoyed, friendly staff, very attentive and great personalities BUT idk if it's because we got there at 3 and it wasn't that busy. The food: BIG PORTIONS!!!!! Lots of flavors!!! from me. Wished the birria had a little kick but i will live without it lol. The bread in THE ONE felt fresh. El consome was really good and by looking at the other plates in the other tables, all dishes were BIG PORTIONS. If they want me to review more dishes, I'll accept an invite back. We celebrated my daughter's birthday here with a party of 12. The food was spicy and delicious, and we really loved all 12 of the fruity margarita flavors in the Papa's flight ($70). Everyone enjoyed their food, and although it came out in stages, I expected that since we dined on the first day Madre's opened to the public. One entree was forgotten, but the manager took care of it immediately. Angel was a wonderful server - very attentive to our needs and friendly. I was pleasantly surprised upon receiving the final bill. We ordered so many margaritas, flights, and food, yet the total was around $425, excluding tip. I thought the gratuity would be automatically added, but it wasn't. Glad I checked! The staff sang to my daughter and brought her a complimentary waffle set aflame. It was topped with nuts, ice cream, and marshmallows, and my oh my, was it delicious! The ambiance was a little odd due to the music and cafeteria type seating with upscale food and drinks, so that's why I removed a star. I'm so glad to have a delicious brunch spot close to home. We will definitely be returning. read more

went here for a girls brunch date and we had such a great time. The interior is bright, fun, and cute. our server adrrienna was so much fun. she was very knowledgeable about the menu, all of her recommendations. Within the group we got the: coffee flight, mimosa flight, margarita flight, birria Benedict, enchilada suiza, and pastor omelette, and hazel waffles (to share lol). If you like spicy food, the red house hot sauce is amazing! I'm not much of a sweet breakfast person, but their waffle was very very enjoyable! Another big plus, there was no wait on a Sunday brunch. I would give this restaurant a 4.5 of 5.0 stars. The chilaquiles were pretty good. I would recommend sharing one order with two people and just doubling up the meat. The steak in the red chilaquiles (chilaquila sauce a little spicy) needed some flavor, but other than that I would order it again. The green chilaquiles with birria were pretty good. I was a little surprised lemons or limes are not available. We were sat down, ordered food and served pretty quickly. The server was very attentive through out our time there. They had some pretty good techno music playing from the video on the TV's. This place would be good for friends to go out and have some drinks. I liked the placing of the food, but I feel that there should be more crema, cotija cheese, avocado, and beans on the side to match up with the amount of chilaquiles served. Ambiance 3/5 Service 2/5 Food 3/5 Found this cute place for Sunday brunch after church. Called ahead to find out if they're on a wait, and was stoked that we can be seated rather quickly. We had a party swooped in to grab our table, but the hostess quickly took care of us. Loud house music Pink trims Eh service Kitchen delays. Party of six. Kitchen was backed up but our server decided to fill us in after 30 minutes of waiting. Hardly check in and truly have a don't care attitude. Their hot vanilla latte was scrumptious. Ordered: * Steak Chilaquiles verde $7 to add steak. Presentation was great. 4/5 overall. Definitely need the extra green (mild) and red (hot and spicy) sauce on the side. Otherwise it's a bit dry. * Birria Omelette - tasty and would order again * American Breakfast - toast was delicious, bacon and potatoes. Two thumbs up. Added chocolate chip pancakes; we got the side of chocolate chip, but no pancake appeared. They ended up comping the meal. 3/5 * La Chocolata Pancakes - served with chocolate ice cream 3.5/5. According to the little one, the chocolate pancakes has a hint of chocolate, but not as chocolatey as he expected. * The Hazel waffles - regular waffles, served with chocolate ice cream, slices of banana and strawberries and spread of Nutella. 3/5 * Pancakes - chocolate chip breakfast 3/5 Side of chocolate chips +$2 Side of 2 eggs +$4.50 Plateware 5/5 Consensus of the table, we will be trying other breakfast joint. read more

Delicious food! Everything was well seasoned and flavored, not drenched in butter salt and or oil like most breakfast places (I'm very picky about that) Super welcoming! Great for large groups. Great service! Fun decor. Large portions and a good bang for the buck! Chilango omelette (green chilaquiles) was good every single bite! And the black beans were DELISH. Madres chilaquiles with birria were to die for! The red chilaquiles sauce was just as delicious as the green. Really good flavor. Pistachio waffles are perfectly sweet and fluffy! No syrup or anything needed (and loaded with pistachios! ) Cannot wait to go back and try more dishes! read more

This place is cute- there's a couple photo op walls and neat decor if you're looking for aesthetically pleasing pics. The food takes the show though. We tried the churro French toast and the chilaquiles ::chefs kiss:: Oh my! It was so delicious! The presentation was beautiful, flavors all mixed so well together and everything was so yummy! Huge portions. A bit pricey but not surprised by the portions. Cafe de Olla is very good, had the Mole chilaquiles and they were very tasty! The chilango omelet is super yummy, your choice of chilaquiles stuffed inside an omelet on a bed of black beans. One thing is that there is no kids menu. So I did feel like we spent too much on my kiddos plate. We got the rainbow Pancakes for him, it was a huge stack practically the size of the plate. The Placentia location is very big and accommodating compared to the uptown Whittier location. Both places hit all the flavors on point. read more

Do they do anything for birthdays?
They brought out a special dessert for my daughter on her birthday.
Excited to try this place out, the pictures look amazing! Is there a menu posted anywhere to look over? I was unable to find one. With diet restrictions , I want to make sure there's options for us to try before making the drive.
There was only a paper menu when we dined there, but it had many of the same offerings as the Whittier location. I would browse the menu from Whittier and check with the Placentia location to make sure they have what you're looking for.
